So here is our new home, hope you all like it!

Golden was it me who was your cycle buddy? I only joined this thread a couple of days before my last AF started which was mid-July, I didn't have any cycle buddies until then and then I only ended up having 1 cycle. I've not been on any of the other conception threads. Could be someone else with Scarlet in the name? Thanks for the good wishes anyway! Smile

Welcome Scrambled maybe/possibly ttc DC2? Forget that. You are already pg with DC2. That's a given when you post on this thread.

Does anyone else think that DCs have some sort of weird tuning in thing going on when their mummy gets pg again? I swear my DS has spent the last week rejecting me and is all for DH. "Mummy no, Daddy do it" I'm only good enough to make his meals apparently. He won't like it tomorrow when Daddy goes back to work and there is only Mummy here to wipe his bum Hmm as I've not even been good enough for that the last couple of days.

NinjaChipmunk · 30/08/2011 08:43

ladies I need your help with some positivity please. I've just called up the hospital to organize my hsg and they can't see me till day 23 so the whole of September is a write off for me! That means I won't be able to confirm my pee stick till October and that's ages away!

OP posts:
Biscuitsandtea · 30/08/2011 08:55

Oh Ninja! how frustrating!! If they are making appts that far ahead could you perhaps make one for after your next AF is not due? That way you wouldn't need to write off September and you could then have a lovely ironic cancellation of the HSG when you get your BFP in sept?

NinjaChipmunk · 30/08/2011 09:00

I think I might call again later this week to see if they get any cancellations for next week. My hospital will only book you in if you've started af (you call on the first day and they book you in for sometime between day 5 and 25 depending on how long your cycle lasts) so I don't think they will let me book in for next month. I don't like to feel like i'm wasting time and you are not allowed to have sex for the whole cycle leading up to hsg! I don't even get to do it for fun!

OP posts:
Biscuitsandtea · 30/08/2011 09:05

Ah yes ours was the same that you had to ring on day 1, but they were better at fitting us in sooner!!

It does seem ridiculous though to make you miss a whole month!!

Fingers crossed they get a cancellation through. (weird wishing for someone else to get their ironic BFP so they can cancel Hmm)

Could you ring them next week too in case they forget about it, or aren't thinking about it as much as you?

BartletForAmerica · 30/08/2011 09:05

That's great that you have been given a date, things are moving in the right direction, that BFP will be yours.

Welcome, scrambled. Congratulations on your pregnancy - it is just a matter of time before the pee sticks agree with us!

Belated congratulations, jen, on your wedding. We recently (almost 2 years after our wedding) got the video that a friend had done of our wedding. It made me cry to watch it. Blush

looopy, I've got a good recipe for Key Lime Pie that needs 4 egg yolks that I always make after I've needed the 4 egg whites for pavlova. Do you want it?

DH was so good to me yesterday. I spent all morning in bed, resting and getting better, so I am doing much better today. I've not been quite in the mood for SFF but a girl's got to do, what a girl's got to do. Clearly a BFP is mine this month, I just need to fulfill my side of the bargain!

Biscuitsandtea · 30/08/2011 09:06

Sorry, just read it properly and you said you were going to call them - the first time I thought I read they were going to call you (dur)

Biscuitsandtea · 30/08/2011 09:10

Glad you're on the mend Bartlett Smile

NinjaChipmunk · 30/08/2011 09:11

bartlet glad you are feeling better, hope you are tip top soon.
biscuits they guy i spoke to said everyone was calling up as they are all coming back from their hols. I reckon I'll call on Thurs/ fri to ask about the cancellations and also ask them how often I should phone to see. We're away on week of 12th so next week would be perfect as even next fri would be day 13 so just about doable. They only do them on tues and fris though so am going to hold on to hope of getting next tuesday and if not i shall eat drink and be merry whilst away. And possibly when i get back too!

OP posts:
CakePigeon · 30/08/2011 09:17

ninja sorry you feel like you'll be missing a month, hope they get a cancellation in soon for you! Just keep calling I reckon!

Bartlet glad to hear you have been taken care of!

scrambled

NinjaChipmunk · 30/08/2011 09:25

hi scrambled sorry, didn't mean to ignore you! welcome to your pregnancy!

OP posts:
scarletfingernail · 30/08/2011 09:29

Oh Ninja that is rubbish! What Biscuits said about calling up to book it for your next cycle instead then you can have another go at a BFP this month.
That's a really good idea. I know you said you think they won't let you do that, but what if you were creative with your dates? So cancel the one you've booked today, ring back in a fortnight, (hopefully get through to someone else) and make out that's day 1 instead? That way you'd get your appt right after your next AF (which you won't have by then anyway because you'll get your ironic BFP) but before you start SWI again.

I remember when I had my HSG, they were really good at my hospital. They fit everyone in between CD8 & CD11 of their cycle so no missed opportunities missed for anyone.

Imps7 · 30/08/2011 09:38

Ninja I hope that there is a cancellation for you - firstly because it means happy news of an ironic BFP elsewhere but secondly so you get your pee stick confirmation sooner rather than later. October does sound a long time away but it really isn't - the time will fly, honest.

Hello Scrambled and welcome to the thread! Congrats on being totally up the duff! Hope you find your soulmate pee stick pronto.

Poor you Scarlet!! Clearly a mother's place is in the kitchen/wiping bums! Am sure your OH is relishing being flavour of the month :)

Glad to see that you are back on your feet Barlet - are you still in with a shot of getting your pee stick confirmation of the Blindingly Obvious this month?

Maybe, presumbly AF is not due for you at the weekend? When are you going to test? When when when when when?? AF is due for me today or tomorrow - I had thought she'd arrive yesterday given the spotting the day before, but I'm glad that she didn't as that would have meant my luteal phase had reduced to just 10 days. I can't decide if she's coming today or not - it doesn't feel like it, but then it feels different every month so that's not a sign of anything really. I PIAR yesterday (11 DPO) and got a BFN - will try again on Thursday if AF still hasn't shown by then.

God isn't the last few days of the 2ww the absolute worst??

scarletfingernail · 30/08/2011 09:45

Grin at Imps new PIAR abbreviation. Not funny about the BFN though. Plenty of time for that to change though. You will get a BFP on Thurs for sure.

It does seem like Maybe's been on the 2ww for about a year. I'm sure it was at least a week and a half ago we all decided she's definitely getting a BFP this month?

I agree that the last few days of the 2ww is hideous. It's a mixed bag of anxiety, fear, dread, excitement and possibility. Not long to go though now Imps

musicalmrs · 30/08/2011 09:50

Completely agree about the last few days of the 2ww - although slightly better when you're not sure when your 2ww is ;)

Imps, I'm sure the spotting was just catching you out, to try and trick you into thinking you're not updiffed, which you must be!

Maybe - any more symptoms to confirm your already obvious pregnacy? :)

I must admit, I'm a bit new to this POAS malarky - AF has confirmed the lack of updiffedness for me before. May I ask about POAS etiquette? Is it more effective to POAS or PIAR?

Bartlet, glad you're feeling better!

Ninja - I think you should follow scarlet's creative thinking - what a cunning plan!

Scrambled, welcome to the madness. Now you may bask in the glow of your soon to be confirmed updiffedness, and sip on many a cocktail as you do...

As for me - still feeling a bit bizarre! Temperature still slightly raised from its normal level (so says my chart) which can't be bad.. stomach generally a bit tender..

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 30/08/2011 10:05

Ooooo Imps are you saying you had a little bit of spotting at 10 DPO, and then nothing for 2 days since?! You are of course aware that implantation happens anywhere between 6 DPO and 12 DPO, with the most common point being 8 - 10 DPO!!

CLASSIC IMPLANTATION SPOTTING! Also it takes a minimum of 2 days after implantation for hcg to get to pee stick levels (which explains the evil BFN at 11 DPO - just too early!) I'm sooooooooooooo excited for you Imps!!! Thursday is the day!! Woohoo here comes your BFP!!!

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 30/08/2011 10:12

Sorry, recovered my a little now! Good morning everyone else!!

Where is Maybe? test test test! I hope you're having a good morning :)

Bartlet so glad to hear you're feeling better. Well done for keeping up the SWI!

Scrambled welcome to the madness! Congrats on your pg, and also - love the name!

Ninja that's so frustrating about your appt!! I agree with all the various plans floating around - keep trying for the cancellation next week but if that doesn't pan out call them back in a week and just lie about AF! A girl's got to do what a girl's got to do! Good luck!!

I hope everyone else's pregnancies are progressing nicely :-) Scarlet when is your appt today?

CakePigeon · 30/08/2011 10:13

Ooh imps classic implantation yay!! Plus loving the PIAR acronym. DH looked at me like I'd gone mad when I asked him how I was going to poas on holiday and asked if it was appropriate to pack a ramekin!

I know what you mean about the end of the 2ww but it is the most exciting time as you really genuinely could be pregnant, before ov it is only a technical pregnancy Grin

maybebabyR · 30/08/2011 10:20

Morning Ladies!

Yes Imps, I am agreeing with Scream most definitely sounds like implantation

Glad you are feeling better Bartlet, well done MrBartlet

Scrambled of course Maybe isn't too familiar. Surely if I ever get a BFP I will have to change it to definitely?

Musical I pee in an old coffee cup. I like seeing the look of confusion on DH's face Grin

Ninja hope the hospital sort out your appointment. Do they not understand we are brroking no arguments whatsoever?

Symptoms. Hmm. Well, I felt too sick to eat breakfast, and was a bit heavy on the train. I am also shattered but am having such difficulty sleeping, and it is really annoying me. And my boobs are still sore. But, this is probably just another assortment of symptoms to add to the ever changing AF Hmm I also forgot all my pin numbers yesterday, cried in the supermarket and tried to open tins of tomatoes with the garlic crusher. So quite clearly I am slowly losing my marbles Grin

I don't know what to do about testing Imps my cheap pee sticks have been dispatched, but I am going to try and resist.

And you are right Scarlet this 2ww has gone on forever Grin

Solars · 30/08/2011 10:26

Morning ladies

Oh yes Scream that is exactly what I was going to say about Imps's spotting! Yes looking forward to you confirming your BFP very very soon Imps!! Also loving PIAR too!!

Bartlet lovely to hear your DH look after you, you should be back in action in no time to confirm that BFP!

Ninja that just sounds so pants that your hospital couldn't give you a date earlier on in your cycle at least before ov even! Our hospital has a policy to have them done before day 10, am I taking it that you're also not even allowed to SWI before your test either? Scarlets cunning plan sounds like a good idea though, I would give that a shot!

Maybe when are you going to Pleeeeeeeeaaaaaase test? The susupense is killing me!!

Solars · 30/08/2011 10:28

yes and my spelling is killing me, sorry that was meant to be suspense!

maybebabyR · 30/08/2011 10:49

Sorry Solars

Imps7 · 30/08/2011 11:09

Ooooh no ladies I don't want to get your hopes up! I know how disappointing it is when a fellow rat smacker gets caught by the witch!! I have had, unusually, a fair bit of spotting this cycle - 5, 6, 8 and 10 DPO (although 8 DPO was a teeny tiny bit of pink/brown CM - I still call that spotting though). I've not had mid-cycle spotting before (have been off pill since Jan 2010 although only started conceiving Jan 2011) - if I'm not diffed this month, should I be concerned about this spotting state of affairs?

Maybe, I've said it before and I'll say it again - you are SO diffed!!

maybebabyR · 30/08/2011 11:27

I wouldn't have thought it is anything to worry about if this is the only time it has happened Imps Plus, it is probably babyFedex working his way in.

I saw a Fedex van over the weekend, and thought of youu. See, it's an omen Grin

scarletfingernail · 30/08/2011 11:37

scream my appointment's not until 2pm. I am feeling really sick today. I know that's a great sign and it's exactly what I wished for. But, I can't concentrate on anything else I feel so rough!

DS is being so sweet. A packet of chocolate buttons, crayons, paper and Cbeebies and he's happy. Not my parenting ideal, but I'm really not feeling up to anything else today.

Imps don't worry about a thing. You are going to get your BFP, you're brooking no argument, right? We'll deal with anything else as and when, but I really don't think it will be necessary.

Eye roll at Maybe you don't even need to bother with the test, just get yourself booked in with a midwife Wink
