Oooooh, what a plush new thread! Cocktails! Velvet sofas! Pimped segways! Beautiful.

Baby good to see you back but sorry to hear your news about the pesky pee sticks - you'll find a decent one soon enough.

Sorry to hear about the shingles Bartlet - ouchy.

Scream GOOD LUCK for the appt today!! Hope you and Squeak enjoy it.

Maybe - very good work on your upduffedness - sounds like that BFP is yours girlfriend!

8 DPO today - nothing very exciting here, a few cramps here and there and am still off alcohol - I forced myself to drink a couple of glasses of wine last night (we were out with friends and they'd have asked questions if I didn't drink) and I didn't enjoy it at all. May start with the pee sticks in a couple of days!

musicalmrs · 26/08/2011 08:01

Morning all! What a lovely shiny new thread. Is it too early in the morning for peach bellinis?

Nothing to report here - some interesting back pain yesterday (different to any I've had before) and a few cramps..

Scream - good luck for your appointment!

Imps7 · 26/08/2011 08:21

When are you testing Musical?

farfallarocks · 26/08/2011 08:44

Well done ninja, love the new house (passes round bucks fizz, that is allowed at breakfast, right?)

baby sorry about the BFN, stupid pee sticks!

dream haev a great holiday

imps, that is sounding very promising indeed!!

scarletfingernail · 26/08/2011 08:59

There you are! What a lovely new thread, love the title.

I've come in to claim my pimped up segway. Thanks Ninja! I love the comfy padding around mine, all nice and cosy for the changing weather. I have hooked my green glittery vom bucket on just in case but so far I've not needed it. I have a mini fridge on mine also full of fruit to make sure I get my 5 a day.

Sorry Baby to hear you haven't yet found a co operating pee stick. There is one out there, you might just have to wait 4 weeks to find it.

dream you can't go on holiday Shock me old cycle mucka and now pregnancy mucka. What am I going to dooooooooooooooo? Sob.

CakePigeon · 26/08/2011 09:06

imps that does sound promising, I'm looking forward to you and maybe confirming over the next few days

farfalla bucks fizz is positively encouraged at breakfast I'm sure Smile

Sorry about your BFN baby hopefully it was just too early, we know from meconium that it can take a while to show up. Fingers crossed for you

I'm so tired this morning, I wish I was allowing myself caffeine!

BabySade · 26/08/2011 09:07

Cocktails & bucks fizz in the morning?! Sounds like an excellent idea, I am off work for a few days.

Sounds v promising for Imps and Maybe. Come on girls we need to christen this thread! Ninja are you due soon?!

Now onto pee stories, it's tough I have so many Grin

DH had invited one of his friends around (unknown to me as I was in bed as working nights). I woke up & went straight into the bathroom PIAR. I was just dipping the pee stick when in walks DH (male) friend. I had not locked the door as didn't realise there was anyone in the house! He ran straight out. Should I add I was only wearing knickers?! Anyway the upshot of this is he was so distracted by my near nakedness that as far as I'm aware he didnt notice the pee. Can I just say I would usually be mortified if anyone saw me like that. However I was just releived I didn't have to explain the ramekin of pee I was messing with BlushBlush

BartletForAmerica · 26/08/2011 09:22

Aw, the combination of peach bellinis, painkillers and your sympathy, along with a difficult night awake, has made me a cry a little. Thank you! Smile

dream, you can't go on holiday and leave us! That is just so inconsiderate of you. Shock (And it will take you a week to catch up with all threads anyway.) Hope you don't feel too sick on holiday.

Ninja, I love the thread title. My DH was a bit confused about rat smacking though.

scarlet, an impressive Segway you've got there. In preparation for my impending hyperemesis (this time won't be the same, this time won't the same, she chants hopefully), I might add an attachment for an IV drip. That way, I can avoid hospital and just zip around here drinking non-alcoholic cocktails.

Baby, your DH sounds so lovely. Even if the pee sticks don't agree this month (although I hope they do), you really are another 4 weeks closer to their confirmation.

musicalmrs, I have some delicious ginger cake here. Fancy some?

scream, enjoy the appt today.

Maybe, when are you confirming your pregnancy?

musicalmrs · 26/08/2011 09:31

Imps - not sure! I have tests coming with my shopping next Friday... trying to hold out until then at least. Provisionally said the 11th Sept (I'd rather have AF than a BFN!), but I know I won't last that long..! All sounding very promising for you though - when will you be testing? :)

Bartlet - Yes please! Ginger cake's one of my favourites! Hope you're feeling slightly better today? Cake cures all ailments... and cocktails of course!

maybebabyR · 26/08/2011 09:37

Baby! Glad you are back with us, and have a few days of work. Grin at your story gave me a good chuckle this morning! Hope you find an agreeable pee stick over the weekend.

Alcohol aversion Imps? Definitely pregnant. When are you whipping the pee sticks into shape?

Bravo Cake on the no caffeine. I only have a few cups of tea a day, so think I will still allow myself that 'luxury' for a while.

Sorry to hear you had a rubbish night Bartlet Hope you are being given lots of tea and sympathy. There will be no need for any IVs this time round Brook No Argument

Hope your appointment is going well Scream

I have just discovered cherry juice. Oh my, it's yummy (even though Dr Dukan says no fruit. I am such a rebel)

GenericDietCola · 26/08/2011 09:44

I fear I'm losing track of you all! I'm still mid-shagathon but also quite busy at work and not getting much MN time.

I'm looking forward to our next BFP - sorry to hear you are getting BFNs Baby but it's probably just too early - look at Meconium

Imps, Ninja, Maybe, Mrs and anyone else testing confirming soon - good luck!

Just a note on the smug people - FB is my enemy at the moment. I'm so fed up of all the smug status updates, or worse still the people moaning about being pregnant - some of whom know that their friends are ttc or recovering from miscarriages. Grr. When I had DD I was very sensitive to this and didn't write endless sickly updates and I won't this time either (because I'm preggo don't y'know). Confirmation in a couple of weeks.

CakePigeon · 26/08/2011 09:46

Oh no Bartlet it's just awful when you don't get your sleep. Hope you are being taken care of at home today

Ha maybe I just caved and made myself proper coffee for the first time in ages Blush

No fruit??! Wtf? I thought it was supposed to be good for you! maybe I completely admire your self control with all your exercising and following dr Dukan, I have no self restraint at all Blush

maybebabyR · 26/08/2011 09:48
maybebabyR · 26/08/2011 09:51

I wouldn't say I have restraint Cake I am just incredibly stubborn Grin

I am allowing myself the odd glass of wine, and the odd square of chocolate. I bet that coffee tastes amazing doesn't it!

I wish I liked coffee. The only time I drank it and enjoyed it was in Bali. They make a goooooood coffee

CakePigeon · 26/08/2011 09:54

Mmm yes it's good Smile I'm bound to drink loads now, especially as I'm going to Bali next week!

Solars · 26/08/2011 10:03

Morning ladies!

I'm on redbush tea at the moment as i'm trying to avoid caffeine (it's not as refreshing as normal tea and my husband always cringes when he accidentally takes a sip of it!) although can't really give up on the old chocolate and don't drink too much coffee anyway, although was very tempted to by one of those coffee machines recently as a friend made us one of the best coffees I'd ever had from his machine!!!

Oh Generic I feel like i've let you down this month being your cycle buddy, but so glad to hear you are still peddling away

maybebabyR · 26/08/2011 10:10

I am unbearably jealous too Cake you are going to have an amazing time

MeconiumHappens · 26/08/2011 10:12

baby its still so early, just keep peeing. Also, try peeing in the evening as i get better results then (and i never drink at night?!) and also i got very very feint line on internet cheapy, a real squinter, but got a pos from a clearblue in the evening with a not saved up wee. So keep peeing! It will show when its ready and not a second before!
Bartlett they say 4ml of preseed but that would result in wife sliding off bed i imagine, we used 2ml. Hope the shingles sort out soon, ouch, what rubbish timing, although perfect for an ironic "we could only do it once this month because i had shingles" type bfp!
generic moaning facebook preggos are the worst. I will NOT be doing that.
baby haha

am currently crying at hotel babylon......and have heartburn.....NOt that im complaining :)

CakePigeon · 26/08/2011 10:15

Morning solars how is your DH now? Hope you are managing some action now! I might try redbush tea... Normal decaf tea is hideous!

Do you have any recommendations? I haven't been before. you're welcome to come in the suitcase maybe!

Solars · 26/08/2011 10:27

Cake DH was so much better when he got home last night, so we started our campaign again, looks like it was a 24hr stomach bug!

The first time I went to Bali we hired a car and drove around the perimeter of the island, which was a lot of fun and didn't take long. Are you into adventure type stuff? there's lots of trekking, white water rafting, elephant safaris etc! Into golf? my husband is and we stayed at a really good golfing resort Tanah Lot last year, which had a great golf course. There's also lots of beautiful temples to see or you can just laze on the beach and got to the zillions of spas there

Solars · 26/08/2011 10:28

Meconium awwww

maybebabyR · 26/08/2011 10:29

Haha, me too Solars

Whereabouts are you staying Cake? We did a trek, and a mountain bike ride down a volcano, spent loads of time eating and drinking and soaking up the sun. There are some beautiful temples.

CakePigeon · 26/08/2011 10:43

solars glad to hear you are back on track and your DH is feeling better

Thanks for your tips! We're staying in ubud for a few nights then Sanur for a week. I'm not adventurous in the slightest Blush spas sound good though! We do do a lot of walking and stuff at home but will it be too hot for trekking etc? I wilt in the heat!

maybebabyR · 26/08/2011 10:46

Ubud is gorgeous. We didn't go to Sanur, but you will love it. Make the most of the spas. It is very hot, so I would take that as a perfect time to relax. There are some amazing places to eat in Ubud. Which hotel are you in?
