Maybe and Musical your willpower is amazing!! If you both actually manage to wait until Friday to confirm the Blindingly Obvious I will be in awe of you both forevermore! Of course I'd still be happier if you confirmed before then!

Scarlet best of luck for your appointment tomorrow! Very exciting! Let us know how it all goes! Also, I keep checking on the morn sickness thing, and apparently it usually turns up anywhere between week 5 and week 7, so not yet feeling sick in week 6 isn't unusual. (This is what I'm clinging to at least, I haven't had any proper morn sickness yet, just lots of dizziness and the occasional feeling of nausea.)

Golden you will definitely be receiving the platinum SWI badge this month if you manage to regularly SWI more than once a day! During my last shagathon we managed SWI twice on ov day itself, but only once a day for the rest of the fertile week! Your bfp is assured this month - go smack that rat!!

Imps it's not over until AF actually takes up residence. My fingers are still firmly crossed for you - don't stop Brooking No Argument!!

I hope everyone else is out enjoying the sunshine unlike me stuck inside with ridiculously boring study books

Imps7 · 29/08/2011 12:34

Ooooh Bartlet I love Great British Bake Off - only last night whilst watching it on iPlayer did I discover that I've been over-cooking my lemon tarts - mine always crack and come away from the pastry and over-cooking is why! I'm always so worried about under-cooking but maybe I should start brooking no argument that my puds are cooked well before I think they should be! Oh, but I have to say that I felt quite smug that I've never had a collapsing pastry like a couple of the people yesterday!

Muscial it is sounding most excellent on the symptoms front! Bring on that agreeable pee stick!

Golden even once a day for me is beyond wishful thinking! You go for it if you can though - why not eh Wink

Good luck for your appt tomorrow Scarlet - stay calm and enjoy it!

Imps7 · 29/08/2011 12:40

My chart's still looking okay but mentally still have written off this month. Not too sad about it - still got lots that I need to achieve in the next 9 months (decorating mainly...boring). Bring on September and my lovely June baby!

Wants3 · 29/08/2011 13:01

wanders in with freshly baked beetroot cake(1 of our 5aday). Hello again every one. GoldenI am impressed! Any tips on how to sneak an extra SWI in with teenagers in the house?! I ov tomorrow according to my chart( ignoring EWCM last week) so want to get as much as poss in:).

MyGoldenNotebook · 29/08/2011 13:43

wants!

Wants3 · 29/08/2011 14:42

If I miss the rat this month it means bubs would be due on my birthday so no bad thing! BTW the beetroot cake recipe didn't mention calories so won't affect any diet plans, scoff away!
Sneaked a sess in at 6.30am so may be able to squeeze in a bedtime one too! I am trying to not look at charts too much as I didn't use them before but being on a time limit means I need to optimise my chances:)
I go back to work on Mon so I too will be more tired but am up to the challenge.

musicalmrs · 29/08/2011 16:36

Golden - Same here! Back to school in a week, and I reckon I'll have significantly less energy what with all the running around I have to do (I'm a peri, in 6 different schools next term). Then again, on the plus side, I'll be so busy with planning and arranging music that I won't have time to SS or worry as much..!

I'm of the opinion that homebaked goods have no calories as they have no packaging saying so. And, if that theory doesn't float your boat, just break the piece of cake/biscuit before eating, so all the calories leak out.. ;)

Scream - I have a busy week ahead, which will hopefully help with holding out on the POAS front ;)

MyGoldenNotebook · 29/08/2011 17:23

Ooh ... I have just had weird electricity feelings in my belliy. Quite painful. It's cd 12 - could be ovulation?

musical your points upon calories are very wise and shall be duly noted :)

maybebabyR · 29/08/2011 18:51

Evening everyone! Hope you have all been having a nice bank holiday.

That sounds like egg-a-go-go to me Golden

Musical I am definitely with you on the no-calorie home baked goods Smile

Has anyone seen the book to go with the Great British Bake Off? I spent half an hour in Waterstones reading it Grin I have the one from the first series, and it is amazing!

MyGoldenNotebook · 29/08/2011 20:28

I love baking Maybe - even though it can be a surprisingly pricey hobby. Will check out that book! :-)

Biscuitsandtea · 29/08/2011 20:37

I love baking too - Maybe is the book from the first series good? Good results? I find I could never have too many cookery books....

Loooopy · 29/08/2011 20:37

musicalmrs that has always been my policy on home baked goodies! if you don't have a wrapper telling you what the calorie content is, then they are calorie-free!

i love baking but need to go outside of my comfort zone. Can easily supply cupcakes, victoria sponges and meringues, so help yourselves lol but in RL i want to tackle muffins and also find a recipe that will use the yolks i don't need when making meringues!

amazed by the amount of SWI going on, we haven't been that busy, but guess until i know i am ov'ing again, not as determined as i could be!

maybebabyR · 29/08/2011 20:40

Really really good Biscuits Some lovely bread recipes too. I have about 50 cook books so far. You can never ever have too many Grin

And you're right Golden it can be far from cheap. Plus I have a really bad habit of buying flour when I have 5 half used bags in the cupboard already. When I have the kitchen of my dreams, I am going to be one of those domestic goddesses that has jars for flour, sugar etc.....

maybebabyR · 29/08/2011 20:42

You could always make a nice quiche with those yolks Loooopy or, seen as you like cupcakes, I have a nice recipe for making a custard-icing to top cakes with instead of butter cream!

Biscuitsandtea · 29/08/2011 20:52

Maybe what's the name of the first series book? I just amazoned it and think I can only see the new one (thought I might get the old one cheaper)

maybebabyR · 29/08/2011 21:00

Biscuits it's the Great British Book of Baking.

jenfraggle · 29/08/2011 21:00

Well we came home today to find our wedding dvd has arrived. It was lovely to sit down and watch it and am hoping that I can persuade DH to DTD again tonight as he said no this morning :)

Biscuitsandtea · 29/08/2011 21:03

Oooh the new one is cheaper - £10 on amazon....

Enjoy your wedding DVD Jen - that must put DH in the mood Wink

Actually looking at our wedding photos would probably make DH feel a bit sad as there's a lot more of me these days... Sad

maybebabyR · 29/08/2011 21:07

AH, how lovely Jen, when did you get married? Hope you enjoy Smile

And don't be silly Biscuits there are 2 of you in there at the moment Grin

You have to buy it, £10 is such a bargain.....

jenfraggle · 29/08/2011 21:11

We got married in June but it's taken me this long to give the song choices. If I'd done it before the wedding then it would have been ready for us by the time we got back from honeymoon but I found it so hard to choose.

maybebabyR · 29/08/2011 21:15

Ah, congratulations! It is so nice when all the photo and bits and pieces come back. We got married last October, and have no idea where the last year has gone!

And brook no argument with that DH Jen that rat must be smacked at all possible opportunities Grin

ScrambledSmegs · 29/08/2011 22:18

Um, hello! I've been lurking for a little while and I love the positivity of your thread(s). DH and I are sort-of-maybe-possibly ttc no. 2 - you know, when you're both nervously pretending that it's all about having fun and it's just a bonus if you actually get pregnant. And I've decided - this is our month and I'm quite clearly pregnant already. Just got to persuade DH to have some more SWI FF over the next few days and I'll be confirming that BFP in a couple of weeks!

Sooo... may I join you all in general no-brooking/rat-smacking fun? Not literally, as that would be more than a tad weird Grin.

Ooh, I almost forgot. .

maybebabyR · 29/08/2011 22:26

A Dorset apple cake you say Scrambled? You're in Grin

Now you have de-lurked, this month is most definitely your month!

How old is DC?

ScrambledSmegs · 29/08/2011 22:50

Thanks maybe! (may I call you maybe? Seems awfully familiar!).

DD is 18 months, feels about the right time as we've been joking that we really need to rack them out if we want to get to get to no. 3 before I'm 40! However she's gone from being a total angel as far as sleep is concerned, to a party all night toddler which makes me think she's realised something is up and she's gone into sabotage mode Hmm. Hah, little does she know!
