Hey Wants have you not got your segway already?

Get yourself on it and come and say hello to all on the ante natal thread. Not sure how to link, but go on to the ante natal boards and you'll be sure to see us there. (Similar thread title to this one)

CakePigeon · 11/09/2011 14:36

Oh well done wants! Congrats Smile
a symptom and tips roundup please Grin

Loooopy · 11/09/2011 16:02

massive congratulations to musicalmrs and wants

I was chatting to my sister the other day (she has 4 DC's) and it turns out she didn't get her periods back each time until after she stopped breastfeeding, and from what i can gather, it took about 6 months after stopping before they returned. Now wondering how likely it is that my body will behave the same - was hoping to breastfeed for as long as needed, DS just turned 10 months. However that means if my body is like hers, even if i stop feeding him now, periods might not return till next March?!!

Does anyone know if things like this are genetic/hereditary and likely to mean my body will behave like my sisters?

jaggythistle · 11/09/2011 16:44

Congrats musicalmrs and wants! :)

Hi Looopy :)

Wants3 · 11/09/2011 17:58

Ok cake symptoms were heightened sense of smell, bloating(with no wind!)TMI?,nausea in morning and evening and slight belly cramps mainly on the left. I am also wondering if my high temp and slight sore throat were relevant. Tips, lots of sex whenever you want;) I also made DH eat mixed nuts every day this month because I read somewhere it was good for little swimmers,oh and I swapped to 1decaf coffee a day. Hope that helps!

BartletForAmerica · 11/09/2011 18:26

Just back from holiday so just checking in while DS has bathtime with DH and I drink tea. Can't write for long, except for the big highlights, but I'll look forward to catching up in the next few days.

I am dpo11, AF is due by pre-preg/non-BFing standards but might not be due until Friday. No symptoms to report, but we did (valiantly and despite the shingles) SWI every day for a week at the correct time, so I am brooking no argument.

musical - congratulations!

Wants - another BFP! Wonderful!

maybe - my fellow PhDer, I will miss you! I am so fortunate to have a great supervisor who told me, when I went to him asking about how things might work if I had children, in a lovely way, "The research you'll do will never be as important as the children you have." He has done everything in his power to make sure I can continue with research along with having children. I hope you can find someone like him soon.

Sn0wGoose · 11/09/2011 19:42

Wants Amazing! Congratulations! alcohol-free wine all round

Bartlet that's so lovely of your boss! Nice to know there are some fabulous bosses out there too :)

dreamfeeder · 11/09/2011 19:59

looopy, my mum got her periods back without doing anything, she had no morning sickness with either me or my sister bar mild nausea between 6 and 8pm so they ate just after that, and had no leaky boobs whatsoever while bf me and my sis. I thought I might have had an easy ride like her, but am the polar opposite. I had to stop a feed suddenly to regain AF, had horrible m.s with DD and so far with this pg (another day of keeping nothing including water down til lunchtime yesterday- and that was after I relented and took some anti-emetics), and leaked milk everywhere from the minute my milk came in. I don't think it will necessarily follow that you will be the same as your sister... Thats a non-medical opinion!! However, I wsa nervous, and was so pleased when DD dropped the feed no fuss. Maybe you could try cutting one out? Now I'm pg again, i'm quite keen for DD to wean before DC2 is born. She seems to be self-weaning off her evening feed, but still loves some morning milk in bed!

HOORAY wants, absolutely fantastic news, well done you two! You showed that FR who was boss. Grin

maybebabyR · 11/09/2011 20:28

Evening everyone. Wants that is brilliant news, congratulations Grin

Dream sorry to hear you are feeling so ropey. Really hope you can get some food inside you tomorrow.

Bartlet welcome back! How were your holibobs? Nice and relaxing I hope. Your supervisor sounds amazing, fancy a swap?! DH and I have been talking, and have decided that I am not going back on the pill for the time being. Though we both have crazy busy times at work coming up over the next week, so there won't be much swi. But I think this may take the pressure off, and we all know what that means. Ironic BFP coming my way Grin

Thank you all for your lovely words. You made me feel that I am allowed to have children whenever I want, and that I should trust my instincts. You lovely lot you

In other news, our puppies were born in the night!!! 4 boys, 4 girls Grin

NinjaChipmunk · 11/09/2011 21:01

And maybe that's good news from you too, glad you seem to have sorted things out.
Dream hope you feel better soon.
Am off on hols tomorrow so not sure when I can check in. Back on Fri so if there's a new thread by then be sure to link it.

dreamfeeder · 11/09/2011 21:15

Enjoy yourselves ninja, have a lovely time.

maybe, absolutely, an ironic BFP for you. I dare you come on here and announce an 'accidental' pregnancy Wink

knittymum · 11/09/2011 21:29

Wants - congratulations! Fabulous news!

Duke - more the merrier for synchronised POASing on Thursday (although I will be PIAPADing (peeing in a pot and dipping) to avoid any suggestion in my mind I've done it wrong!

Notebook - bless you for 2ww low - I so know how that feels, and I'm hoping this is your last 2ww, ending in a lovely strong BFP!

Maybe - mmmm, baked goods!

Hello to everyone else who has waved since I've been in the land that time and mobile signals forgot (Carmarthenshire)! My boobs have been quite sore today, alternating with the achiness which is quite strange! No other proper symptoms though, so I'm not getting my hopes up more than is reasonable in a 2ww anyway. And I'm determined not to waste money by buying tests until Wednesday. Although I'm off to Tesco tomorrow, and I'm not sure if I'll stay strong!

maybebabyR · 11/09/2011 21:36

Grin Dream but we weren't even trying....... Grin

Sore boobs=good sign Knitty A Tesco cheapy is only a few pounds. Not that I would know of course...

Talking of knitting, I am off to bed with tea and my knitting. Have a lovely evening everyone!

jenfraggle · 11/09/2011 21:42

Congrats Wants

knittymum · 11/09/2011 22:12

You see what you did, Maybe?? You've had me googling 'Tesco pregnancy test sensitivity', and looking up prices. Grrr! I was so determined to wait!! And I will. I'll be strong maybe.

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 12/09/2011 08:01

Whoop Whoop Maybe! Congrats to you & fx it's all plain sailing from here Smile

I spent yesterday afternoon with my lovely snuffly little newborn niece who arrived on Sat afternoon Grin. She threw up on me (much to my sister's delight!)
This week is absolutely hectic for me, but trying to keep relaxed as I'm hopefully ov-ing mid-week... fx

How are the rest of the Day 11 posse? Grin

Imps7 · 12/09/2011 08:31

Yay! Congrats Wants!

Give us a "B"!
B!
Give us an "F"!
F!
Give us a "P"!
P!
And what have you got?
BFP!!

It's always so uplifting to hear news of a BFP - it helps the non-brooking of any arguments no end.

Maybe - yay! So glad you've come to the right decision!!!! You know that this is definitely going to be your month now - there's no other option!

Mmmmm, baby vom Late - my favourite. We spent the day yesterday with my friends (1 nearly 4 year old, 1 nearly 2 year old, 3rd due in 4 weeks - all conceived on first attempt...) and it's so exciting in their household at the moment - they have all the baby stuff lined up, the to do list is done, my mate has found her giving birth t-shirt (the t-shirt that her DH gave her on their first date 17 yrs ago - ahhh! - she wore it for the birth of her first 2) - I CAN'T WAIT until that's me and OH!!!

Day 11 - not much to report - won't be another 4 days or so until the snail turns up. Hoping this month won't be a right off but shagging possibilities are looking distinctly limited in the run up to egg popping. Never mind, a July bug will be just as lovely as a June bug!

Imps7 · 12/09/2011 08:32

"write off", obviously

Sn0wGoose · 12/09/2011 09:56

I got to cuddle a 3 week old yesterday, it was lovely. For me. She hated it. :o

OV+4.... already imagining phantom pg symptoms........ :o

farfallarocks · 12/09/2011 10:26

Hurray A BFP to kick things off!! Well done wants

How many DPO were you when you tested?

I have 4 FRs in the bathroom cabinet and have so far managed to behave myself.
AF due on Friday and I am really going to try and sit on my hands until at least Wednesday, sounds like there are a few of us!!

imps I thought you had scheduled a perfectly timed September shag fest holiday?

munkki why 7 weeks time? Join us now!

musicalmrs · 12/09/2011 10:35

Knitty - I've heard good things about the Tesco tests, and they certainly were good for me (though I still haven't a clue when I was in my cycle I got my BFP, so I can't really vouch for their sensitivity!).

Farfalla - Good luck with the trying not to test ;)

So we're looking at several pee sticks confirming the blindingly obvious towards the end of the week?

ScrambledSmegs · 12/09/2011 11:32

Ah, congratulations Wants! I knew it!

Just a quick note to say, yes, AF got me yesterday, a day late the cheeky mare. So I'm now officially brooking no argument and I will be pregnant this month. After all, it's the worst possible timing with planning a long-haul trip for my brother's wedding with a toddler - what could possibly go wrong, especially if you throw morning sickness into the mix?!

maybe, glad to hear you're back with us!

Ooh, the excitement of a group POAS! I'm so tempted to buy some OPK's just so I can join in the fun Grin.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 12/09/2011 12:47

Howdy preggos! Wants I've already said welcome on the other thread but I wanted to add my congratulations to this one as well - good work!! It's so exciting to have another BFP pop up!!

Maybe yay for not going back on the pill!! Woohoo!! This thread wouldn't be the same without you. Given your current circumstances your BFP is absolutely assured this month. However don't forget that the No Brooking doesn't stop with the BFP, once you have that in hand you'll have to turn the full force of your No Brooking powers on your evil boss, and make him back off! We will all be 100% behind you. I love Dream's quote from her boss, it really is encouraging that there are still some good guys out there. It will work out for you too Maybe I'm sure of it!

Imps what's wrong with the SWI timing this month? Don't give up on your June bug, THIS is your month!

Scrambled I'm sorry to hear AF showed up, the evil witch. This is clearly your opportunity to give her a stern talking to and make her understand that she is NOT to return for the next nine months! However it's clear that given how horribly inconvenient your BFP will be this month it is absolutely guaranteed! Grin Glad you're staying positive, and welcome to day 2 of your pregnancy!

Farfalla can't wait for you to whip those pee sticks into shape! Good luck to team Thursday as well!

Imps7 · 12/09/2011 13:08

Afternoon

BOOOOO Scrambled for AF turning up. This is your month and we are brooking NO argument. Remember - if you see a rat, smack it.

Very excited to hear your POAS report Farfalla - after your shagathon this month there is no way that the pee sticks can deny the Blindingly Obvious.

Maybe I'm being unduly negative about this month's shagging opportunities, but OH is out on Friday evening, we've then got to be up and out of the door at 5:30am on Saturday to head to a friend's wedding which will take up all of Saturday and the wee small hours of Sunday, we'll be hungover as dogs on Sunday so SWI is unlikely in the morning (particularly as OH's swimmers will undoubtedly be drunk!!), then we're travelling to stay with friends on Sunday, coming back on Tuesday...egg popping is likely to happen on Monday. There may be some opportunity but it's always a bit tricky when you're on the road/at friend's isn't it?

I went to the doc's this morning about something non-TTC related, and while I was there thought I'd mention my 5 random days of spotting/bloody CM post-ovulation last cycle. The doc was great and took it seriously so I am going in for various swabs etc (don't know exactly what for!) on Friday. I was expecting the stock "see if it happens again this cycle and if it does then come back" response but she actually seemed to care about it. She is deffo the doc that I will go to if we have no luck after 12 months of brooking no argument as she doesn't seem the fob-off type.

How are you feeling Scream?? And when is your scan?
