Grin at Imps and her unusual relationship with the in-laws! Lol!

Unfortunately there's not much celebrating going on here yet (except a great big bar of chocolate Grin ) because I still have two more exams next week.

I'm afraid I have a very boring financial consultant type job, and although I am already fully qualified/chartered in this country I decided earlier this year that I would volunteer to become fully qualified/chartered in the US as well. (I deal with internationally mobile clients.) Why exactly I put myself forward for this unnecessary pain is something I haven't been able to recall since about 1 week after hatching this crazy scheme! Something to do with being the only dual-qualified person in the office in theory translating to faster promotions - the obvious flaw in this logic being that I'm going to be on maternity leave by the next round of promotions if everything goes well and the round after that I'll be working part-time! D'oh! Clearly my baby brain kicked in a few months early!

Although I'm not celebrating yet, I will be taking DH out for dinner tomorrow as a thank you for rescuing me this morning!

Imps I'm sorry if AF really is inching her way in through the door. Please pass on a few choice words from the rest of us regarding her poor timing and generally unwelcome presence! It is definitely your turn now, so I am sure next month really will be your month! (Yay for June birthday parties!)

Generic.... That recipe sounds divine! I will be getting right on that first thing tomorrow!

Solars · 31/08/2011 21:03

Oh Grin at you Imps and you even added but needs must !!! That did make me chuckle Grin. Sorry to hear that af maybe putting her foot through the door, that door will be firmly shut for her very soon!

Yum, yum Generic I too will be trying out your recipe either tomorrow or the day after, not much of a maker of confections (more of a consumer :)) but your recipe sounds delish!!

Well done on your exam Scream and what a lovely DH. The thought of taking another exam at my age scares me silly and would only do it if my life depended on it now!

CakePigeon · 31/08/2011 21:04

Well done scream! You have done amazingly well to be preggers, vomiting, revising and mumsnetting all at the same time!

imps sorry to hear you feel distinctly like AF has arrived. I don't actually know anyone who has their birthday in June but I'm sure all the best people are born in June.. Or something... Hmm I'm looking forward to my June bug anyway Grin

Biscuitsandtea · 31/08/2011 21:06

My DH was born in June - he's luverley Grin

maybebabyR · 31/08/2011 21:12

Imps that made me chuckle! Sorry to hear AF is here. What a bitch. My new niece was born in June and she is just scrummy.

Well done on your exam scream enjoy your well deserved chocolate. Oh, I wish I had some. I have a yoghurt Sad

How are the confirmed preggos feeling at the mo? Not too rough I hope.

I am thinking about dog names. I am finding it harder than baby names not that I have already picked my baby names

CakePigeon · 31/08/2011 21:17

DH regrets not calling our dog Dogtanian ( which I think ought to be spelled Dog'tagnan)... Just sayin' Wink

maybebabyR · 31/08/2011 21:19

Haha, DH suggested Bruce. How can you call a puppy Bruce?

Solars · 31/08/2011 21:22

I like that Cake, how about Romeo?

NinjaChipmunk · 31/08/2011 21:23

one for all and all for one, muskerhounds are always ready......dogtanian, now that brings back memories.

OP posts:
maybebabyR · 31/08/2011 21:25

DH would never go for that, but I like it. Every suggestion I made, it was: 'too girly', 'too boring', 'too American' etc. etc.

Bruce, Bruno and Harry were all I could get out of him.

NinjaChipmunk · 31/08/2011 21:28

I think Atticus is a good name for a dog.

OP posts:
Solars · 31/08/2011 21:31

Is that from To Kill A Mockingbird Ninja? I love that book, awww now that brings back memories of my childhood...

maybebabyR · 31/08/2011 21:36

Oooh, very regal sounding Ninja. Sorry everyone, didn't mean to lower the tone of the thread!

Ninja I just saw what you said abut muskerhounds Grin I'd forgotten!

NinjaChipmunk · 31/08/2011 21:39

Yes it is but i think the name would also really suit a dog for some reason. I think it is quite a proud name if you know what i mean. DS was asking if we could get a cat the other day as we have a cat flap in our patio doors and when we asked what he would call it he said 'John'.

OP posts:
maybebabyR · 31/08/2011 21:52

Haha, I think men say the first thing that comes into their head! Definitely know what you mean about it being a proud name, I like it a lot!

John the cat. Brilliant Grin

CakePigeon · 31/08/2011 21:55

Aww John the cat sounds great!

Any new symptoms maybe?

maybebabyR · 31/08/2011 22:05

Pink CM seems to have gone. For now anyway! I am just knackered, and don't really have any appetite, other than for sweet stuff, and i don't normally have a sweet tooth.

But I am probably just clutching at straws and AF is going to bite me in the bum god and proper Grin

How about you Musical any symptoms? Is it just the 2 of us not testing in the near future?

CakePigeon · 31/08/2011 22:10

Oh that's pretty exciting maybe!

Yes, musical your symptoms were sounding pretty good too I seem to remember...

MyGoldenNotebook · 31/08/2011 22:12

Evening All!

I've had such a busy day cleaning / sorting (can the nesting bug come this early?)

Good to see the thread all lively and friendly as usual! :)

Well done screams you are clearly a woman to be reckoned with!

I too would like a symptom spot update from the so obviously pregnany Maybe (I have my baby names picked out Blush)

I've just written a scheme of work on To Kill a Mocking Bird' for year 8. Big Atticus fan here ... 'take a walk' in other peoples' shoes and all that. I think it would be a cool name for a real boy and not just a dog actually. I think I would call a dog Argos (famous Greek dog not just very reasonably priced catalogue). Alas my DH is allergic to animal hair so we can't get have any creature with fur in the house. Would quite like a tortoise although they're mega expensive. Nearly 200 squid in our garden centre.

Biscuitsandtea · 31/08/2011 22:12

Just think Maybe we're one day closer to the testing zone than we were this morning (or technically than we were thus time last night).

If AF shows up anywhere near you I'll have a choice words for her j can assure you. I mean if she even dares to visit one if your neighbours or someone at work.

We. Are. Brooking. No. Argument.

Do you hear me you witch?*

by witch I mean AF not Maybe*, just for clarity

Biscuitsandtea · 31/08/2011 22:13

Stoopid iPad rubbish typing thing - I am sure you can translate most of that into English...

MyGoldenNotebook · 31/08/2011 22:14
maybebabyR · 31/08/2011 22:25

I have some pink CM Sad still not when I wipe. If I wasn't looking for it, I wouldn't know it was there

Think you might have to start practicing what you're going to say to her Biscuits and Golden

Don't worry though, if she comes, I'll be back to brooking no argument for a June bug.
