So here is our new home, hope you all like it!

OP posts:
Loooopy · 31/08/2011 09:33

mygoldennotebook if your office is anything like my home office, it will take more than 2 days just to sort that out! just stick to the baking ;) (and i've given up putting clothes in my wardrobe as it's bursting with clothes i can't fit into, so the clothes i do wear are draped over the chair in my home office, and also the now not needed glider crib that DS stopped sleeping in 4 months ago lol)

musicalmrs those cookies sound good - care to share the recipe :)

maybebabyR · 31/08/2011 09:34

Golden I have always wanted a laminator. It looks so satisfying Grin

Sorry about AF Imps But just think, in the few weeks of maternity leave before Fedex arrives, you can laze in the garden on a sun lounger sipping non-alcoholic cocktails to your heart's content!

i pink CM exciting? I'm not too sure.

Can I put an order in for carrot cake please Musical with extra cream cheese topping? It's my favourite cake.

I am working from home today too. Though so far, this involves sitting in my pyjamas looking on here and day dreaming about puppies!

musicalmrs · 31/08/2011 10:23

One carrot cake for Maybe coming up!

Golden - very jealous of your laminator! I need to print out lots of flash cards this evening, and then find a willing friend with a laminator to help me out (fed up of them getting tatty quickly!). My list of things to do before term begins is still ridiculously long.. oops!

Loooopy - Will do if successful! We moved a couple of months ago - before, our oven only had "luke warm", "200 degrees ish" and "BURN EVERYTHING!!!" settings. Now we have one that functions normally, I'm busy re-testing my favourite recipes to ensure they work in proper ovens ;)

Sadly I have a few items on my to do list before baking can begin...

GenericDietCola · 31/08/2011 10:43

Imps sorry about AF but I admire your positive thinking re a June baby - lovely time of year to be on mat leave and having a baby. Plus, think of all the kids' parties you can have in the sunshine.

Maybe I agree that the pink spotting is implantation! You have soooo many symptoms, it would be rude if it wasn't!

Solars still with you cycle buddy.

Loving all the new baking chat and developments. I made a peanut butter 'confection' at the weekend - ingredients were: two kinds of sugar, peanut butter, butter and chocolate! Yum yum (want some Maybe? I know your feelings about peanut butter!)

Well I think I might be about 6 dpo now but this is based on very unscientific feelings and observations. I'm still on the shagathon just in case, but I have the following symptoms: sore left boob (wasn't it right boob=pregnant?), slight nausea (see peanut butter recipe above) and tiredness (working too hard, small child who wakes up early).

So as you can see, definitely up the duff. Just waiting for confirmation now.

maybebabyR · 31/08/2011 10:57

You are most definitely up the duff Generic, when are you confirming?

That peanut butter delight sounds amazing. Oh, I really want some. There is nothing sweet in the house, and I really want something sweet!

It really should be implantation shouldn't it. Surely my body wouldn't be so cruel as to give me constant sore boobs, nausea and spotting for nothing?? Grin

Oh, and it was my left boob initially as well. But now it's both not that I keep prodding them

GenericDietCola · 31/08/2011 11:01

Oh Maybe we have identical symptoms, which must mean we are both pregnant! I won't be confirming until weekend of 10 Sept as I think af not due on Thursday 8th and I am not testing until late. You're ahead of me aren't you?

Imps7 · 31/08/2011 11:03

Another peanut butter fan here too! I was in the US last year and had the best icecream - Ben and Jerry's Chubby Hubby. It was choc icecream with choc pretzel bits and crunchy peanut butter and caramel swirled through. Choccy, nutty and a bit salty - gorgeous! Never seen it over here sadly.

Maybe if your body is not being cruel you definitely have a better behaved body than mine. Every month it plunges to new depths of nastiness in the pursuit of making me think that I could be preggers. I would get rid of it but frankly I need it to make me a baby. Catch 22 situation really!

Generic you definitely pregnant my love! Good on you (and OH!) for continuing with the shagathon. Nothing like dedication to the cause.

No sign of AF yet......come on bitch, just get on with it will you.

GenericDietCola · 31/08/2011 11:08
Imps7 · 31/08/2011 11:11

POSITIVE PEE STICKS!

maybebabyR · 31/08/2011 11:17

When do we want them?

Soon, please. This being patient lark is getting tiring Smile

Imps That sounds beyond amazing. I need some in my life. Because of you and Generic I had to go and stick my finger in the peanut butter Blush

I know what you mean Imps I would have traded mine in years ago, but I am having to put up with it!

I am ahead of you Generic, AF due on Monday ish. Thank God I only have a CBD in the house, otherwise I would have tested!

GenericDietCola · 31/08/2011 11:21

Eek! Eek! Monday is not far away!

Biscuitsandtea · 31/08/2011 11:24

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for another bumper week next week!

Any chance of the recipe for the peanut butter confectionary thing? Sounds yummy!

As does that ice cream! I'm now considering complaining to the european court about B&J - surely it must be some infringement of our human rights for them to deprive the UK market of that particular flavour?

Biscuitsandtea · 31/08/2011 11:25

By bumper week, I mean a bumper BFP week

Solars · 31/08/2011 11:37

Morning (ish) ladies

Hey Generic 8th is when my af is not due too! I too am looking to test around the 10th (although to be honest I'm not too hopeful this month but secretly hoping fort hat ironic bfp). I'm impressed with your continued shagathon! I have no symptoms to report - boo :(

I'm so looking forward to getting to the states and trying the peanut butter m&n's and will now be looking out for the B&J flavour mentioned by Imps Can't wait...and will obviously be bringing some back for you all!

Imps you could still be in the game...

CakePigeon · 31/08/2011 11:44

Oh no I can't believe I will miss all of your BFPs next week. Do they have wifi in Bali?! DH will think I'm insane but I really need to have mn on holiday with me!

It is all sounding good for Monday BFPs Smile

Hope it isn't really AF imps my fingers are still crossed for you.

I am jealous of you lot working from home Grin

maybebabyR · 31/08/2011 11:44

Oooh, Biscuits I feel a campaign coming on!

When is it you jet off Solars? I think food is one of the main reasons I want to go to the states. I am addicted to Man v Food at the moment

Next week is looking very promising indeed!

maybebabyR · 31/08/2011 11:46

They definitely have wifi in Bali Cake get thee to a computer! After all, who needs to lie in the sun drinking cocktails and beer all day?? ]grin]

Solars · 31/08/2011 11:55

Maybe I jet off on the 10th, it would be so lovely to get that bfp before we fly out but we'll see...i have high hopes for you and Generic though!

I've never watched Man v Food, may take a peek now though...

Yes Cake your hotel is very likely to have wifi so don't forget to take your laptop with you!!

GenericDietCola · 31/08/2011 11:59

Biscuits lol at bumper week! Hoping for that too. Yes and re B&J it's half price in Tesco at the moment and I just cannot resist it.

Solars we could do a double confirmation on the 10th! And then wave you off on your hols.

Cake get to an internet cafe so you don't miss us while you're away.

maybebabyR · 31/08/2011 13:13

What a lovely going away present that will be Solars! Man v Food has me drooling every time I watch it Grin

The postman didn't deliver my tests today Sad but it is a good thing really, as I am not testing early. Honest Hmm

Imps7 · 31/08/2011 13:29

Hmm, maybe could you not just do, you know, like a late test for last month or something? Definitely not putting on the pressure for testing this month, but I'm still not convinced we had a conclusive answer from your last cycle...

BartletForAmerica · 31/08/2011 13:37

Goodness me, so much to read! Right going to head back to where I last got up to. I'll be back!

maybebabyR · 31/08/2011 13:47
BartletForAmerica · 31/08/2011 13:57

Right, that took me AGES! But I have spent the rest of naptime doing statistics for my thesis, so I needed a break!

I completely agree about the Bounty stuff. I never registered for any of it and managed to avoid the women by having a home birth, so the midwife brought the packs to me the next day without me needing to give any details. The photos they take tend to be terrible anyway, when I have had to admire friends' ones.

Bee, welcome. Your BFN yesterday was definitely too early but it is just a matter of time now before you get your BFP. You're one of us now!

Welcome to duke too and your pregnancy!

Imps, sorry about AF being on her way. That icecream sounds AMAZING! Anyone going to the States on holiday who can bring some back for us all?

Maybe, you are sounding more and more pregnant! I am (quite genuinely) very excited about your upcoming BFP and can only admire your restraint at not testing yet.

Scarlet, are you feeling better? Chocolate buttons and CBeebies is going to do your DS no harm for a few days or even a few weeks. Hope things settle down though. Glad the midwife was nice and got an extra scan for you.

Solars, what is PIACC? I've got PIAR (ramekin) right?

Musical, another pregnancy just waiting to be confirmed! When?

I am doing so much better and don't keep staring at the clock to see when I can next take painkillers. I'm managing to get plenty of thesis writing done and, more importantly, SWI (although it was certainly out of duty and not pleasure over the weekend!).

On CD15 and no sign of ov'ing on the OPK. Cycles are still a bit unpredictable but I'm only BFing once a day now. I did have odd right sided pelvic pains about day 18 last month. I wonder if these were ovulation pains?

BartletForAmerica · 31/08/2011 14:02

And for looopy, here is my Key Lime Pie recipe. I've made a big batch for you all here

200g crushed digestives or ginger nuts
60g melted butter
400g sweetened condensed milk
4 large eye yolks
juice and zest of 5 limes
200ml double cream
fresh mint and lime zest to decorate

Preheat oven to 160C.

Mix biscuits and butter. Press into small cake tin (20cm) and bake for 8 mins. Cool.

Whisk condensed milk, egg yolks, zest & juice. Pour over biscuit base and bake for 10 mins.

Remove from oven, cool to room temp, then cover and place in fridge for at least 2 hours.

When ready to serve, softly whip cream and gently dollop a generous spoonful on each slice with a little mint sprig and lime zest.
