So here is our new home, hope you all like it!

Solars · 30/08/2011 18:04

oh no Biscuits I think I mis-wrote - I am having such a bad day with spelling/grammar and the whole english language today!!! I meant i'll be testing in 2weeks time when AF is due!! Sorry Blush

Biscuitsandtea · 30/08/2011 18:08

I am very relieved Solars that is was my understanding that was amiss. I am sure it must be my understanding rather than your writing as no doubt someone else would have picked you up on it. Apart from anything else you'd never be allowed to put us through such torture of waiting until AF was 2 weeks late!! (Take note Maybe Wink)

Anyway, I look forward to your confirmation in 2 weeks time!

Wants3 · 30/08/2011 18:11

Hi, everyone. Not much of interest from me but sounds like lots of positive happenings for lots of you! Welcome to smegs and duke. you have definitely joined the right thread, the friendliest by far! notebook are we still on the tag team SWI routine cos I am hoping to sneak one in tonight if you want to pass the baton and have a little rest:)

MyGoldenNotebook · 30/08/2011 18:21

Welcome smegs and dukes! I hope you are enjoying your pregnancies :)

I may well take the rest wants; I've had a busy and emotional day! A friend of mine has just found out that her new boyfriend (who we all thought was perfect!) is almost as mentally unhinged as her last ... very sad for her.

Take the baton wants; before I collapse!

jaggythistle · 30/08/2011 18:22

hi duke! fancy meeting you here. :)

maybebabyR · 30/08/2011 18:33

Grin at swi relay Golden and Wants

Poor Solars being chased. Never nice

Biscuits I will be due on Monday, but I think I may have ovulated a bit early, I'm not too sure Hmm

Will try not to keep all hanging for too long Grin

Biscuitsandtea · 30/08/2011 18:36

Maybe I will be brooking no argument for you (in a totally non-pressure way)

I am just listening to a very interesting thing on the iPlayer about ttc and how you take the news from others. It's on the Jeremy Vine Show, R2, starts about 1hr 8 mins in if anyone is interested...

maybebabyR · 30/08/2011 18:44

Thanks Biscuits Smile

MyGoldenNotebook · 30/08/2011 18:54

I've just listened to that show biscuits. Very honest, touching and intelligent reflections from both women I thought.

Biscuitsandtea · 30/08/2011 18:58

Hmmm yes I thought so too Notebook. I've heard of Bibi Lynch before - after accidentally reading Grazia and seeing her column in there where she talked about the IVF thing. I think she is going down the IVF route on her own. I must confess I actually bought Grazia for a few weeks after that just to read her column but she never mentioned it again (I guess Grazia don't really want a whole column every single week dedicated to ttc Hmm).

Still, I found a lot to relate to in there.

Biscuitsandtea · 30/08/2011 18:59

If anyone fancies a listen this link should work :)

CakePigeon · 30/08/2011 20:18

Oh wow maybe those dogs are super cute. Much fluffier and cuter than my black lab Envy oh I miss the puppy stage! you have to get one they look awesome! You live in London right? You might find me on your doorstep doing a bit distraction burglary and swapping our dogs over!

imps no update is a good update! Grin

Wants3 · 30/08/2011 20:26

Baton taken notebook warm bubble bath running enjoy your rest. I can sympathise with you and your friend as my sister is going through similar thing. I am helping her move and looking after her DD's for next couple of days.

maybebabyR · 30/08/2011 20:42

I live in Essex Cake!! Is the lab feeling better now? I think we may be going to meet the pups Mum and Dad on Saturday! I told DH going to the dog show would be a dangerous idea... Grin

I have just started watching the Great British Bake Off (I sky+ it due to work out) anyone else watching too?

CakePigeon · 30/08/2011 20:49

Close enough maybe Grin I shall be there! he's fine now thanks, I think he just over indulged in acorns

Right! This month's SWI marathon starts tonight!

maybebabyR · 30/08/2011 20:51

Good luck on the marathon Cake I am always in pjs by this time. I think DH is past caring now Blush

maybebabyR · 30/08/2011 22:09

Cake I have just re-read my last post. It should have said that my DH is past caring

Solars · 30/08/2011 22:18

Oh Biscuits that was very interesting to listen to and can totally relate to some of the things that were being said. I have to say though that I do feel genuinely happy when friends and family tell me when they are pregnant, everyone of us has their own journey to follow. Someone once said to me that the stork just flies the long way around for some us! Although I think mine is taking the really long scenic route to get to me!

Anyway, I feel a rousing round of:
What do want?
positive pee sticks
When do we want them?
now

Grin at Wants & Notebooks baton passing!

Good luck Cake I'm sure I've read somewhere that pjs & hoodie are the new sexy!

Solars · 30/08/2011 22:21

ooooo Maybe that sounds interesting!!!

Biscuitsandtea · 31/08/2011 05:56

Maybe - your 2ww is killing me! Goodness knows what it must be doing to you! And if AF not due until next week it is too early to test - don't want a disagreeable pee stick!

Solars I think I have generally been genuinely happy for announcers too. Maybe a little bit 'eeek I'm bring left behind' especially when the announcers then had the babies before I was pg. But I've always asked how pgs are going and been to see the newborns etc. The most recent newborn I visited (before my BFP) I did find a little tough as the mum was desperate for someone to cuddle her (she would only sleep when held) so I cuddled her for ages (I mean about 2 hours). But I suppose as we were trying for dc2 it perhaps isn't quite the same? Was certainly interesting to get some different perspectives on it. I like to think I've been the same as Kate whatsherchops from the interview . I guess it was particularly interesting since (touch wood) in a few weeks we'll be telling a few friends who I know are struggling (fortunately so many of my friends are either pg or just popped one out I know most won't have a problem with it!)

musicalmrs · 31/08/2011 08:39

Morning all! Maybe - how goes the 2ww, any new symptoms to report? And Imps?

Nothing much going on here...

I'm genuinely happy for announcers at the moment (especially MN ones!) - but we're still quite early on in the ttc journey - I can imagine the happiness fades slightly if you're beginning to worry about it a lot.

Baking today, so I'll add to the stockpiles!

maybebabyR · 31/08/2011 08:47

Morning one and all!

What are you baking Musical? Something yummy no doubt!

Biscuits it does seem to be going on forever Smile I have sore boobs again, which I never normally get. But the oink CM is still there. Nothing when I wipe though. If this is AF starting, my cycles will be 30 days! Which in itself is a very good thing, just 5 days shorter than any cycle I have had since coming off the pill Hmm

I have been so happy to hear people's news, though really, it's only been my SIL (an we hadn't quite started when she got her BFP) and my friend at work, who had a horrific journey to get her BFP, so couldn't have felt any more happy for her. I think when you are TTC yourself, you can really appreciate just how tough it can be. I know before we started trying it all seemed very simple, but we now understand what a rollercoaster it can be!

Oh, and then there was always when Beyonce announced it. I won't repeat exactly what I said, as it is nowhere near the water shed Grin

Imps7 · 31/08/2011 09:07

Good morning!

So jealous of the baking Musical - would much rather be doing that today than stuck in this crappy office doing a job I despise. Oh god, I need some maternity leave.

Maybe, oh my word - pink CM at 11/12 DPO?????? Helloooooo implantation! Properly exciting stuff. Hope you're looking after yourself, a lady in your condition.

AF is definitely arriving for me today, bang on schedule. Temp took a big dip this morning and I have that classic (for me) pre-AF full and slightly watery feeling in my uterus - not cramps, just a sensation really. Disappointing, but I hadn't thought I'd be in the running at all in August given that OH was away with work then in a last-week-at-work stress so it's a bit of a bonus month for me really! Bring on September and my lovely June baby!

musicalmrs · 31/08/2011 09:16

Sorry to hear that Imps - next month will be your month :)

Maybe - pink CM sounds incredibly exciting!

Not sure what I'll be baking yet - probably millionaire's shortbread, some chewy chocolate chip cookies, or carrot cake. Depends on what's left after the DH attacked the baking cupboard at the weekend! Sadly I do have to work too today Imps, but from home luckily - and not too much to do, so I can fit the baking in!

MyGoldenNotebook · 31/08/2011 09:16

That a girl Imps! keep - a Summer baby for you (that is if you are out of the running for May - you could still be surprised).

Musical I am also going to attempt baking today. After a busy day yesterday I am sat on the sofa in my dressing gown mning while the boy watches Tinypop and eats his second bowl of cereal . I have just promised him baking, library and park before the day is out.

I have two days left off before the madness of the new term begins and I must force myself into productivity. I have promised myself that before I go back I will:

-sort the office
-sort my wardrobe
-do a frightening amount of laminating

It's written down now so I have to do it :) Come on motivation!
