New thread, hopefully not clashing with another new thread! This Is Our Month, Rat Smackers.

OP posts:
maybebabyR · 20/07/2011 19:15

Scream You sound positively pregnant. Your DH will be delighted Smile

Grin at wazoo Imps

So, it seems Monday is the day! It will obviously go into the history books as being a record breaking day of BFPs. Maybe the rats will make it a bank holiday.

My DH has been very keen that this month is our month too. Surely being a scientist and all, I could invent a pee stick that confirmed what we already know.

Biscuitsandtea · 20/07/2011 19:18

Also loving the Ollivander pee stick idea [where are the Potter emoticons when you want them?] Grin

havealittlefaithbaby · 20/07/2011 19:21

Welcome, welcome scream! Excellent name, rat smacking and loved the idea of posting a smacked rat to af! That's where I went wrong last month! I'll do that this month just as soon as we get to rat smacking.
imps have you tried natural/probiotic yoghurts? I have Ibs and it really helps me. To be fair, it's obviously an early sign of your pregnancy!

thelittlefriend · 20/07/2011 19:28

scream thanks for joining the thread as you made me laugh out loud with the "popping a totally squished rat in the post" comment! And congrats on your pregnancy Wink

I've decided i'm going to poas on Monday and probably every day before just to join in.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 20/07/2011 19:42

Ooooo does this mean I can join in with the checking of symptoms now? Such as yesterday when I felt so sick after eating one croissant for breakfast I actually had to throw it up! This was clearly such indisputable evidence of my updiffedness that I immediately told DH who then referred to various bogus websites such as NHS Direct to make irrelevant points about morning sickness not occurring until later on I then rushed back to the bathroom to try my second pee stick of the day a whole 2 hours after my first and shockingly enough this gave the same incorrect answer as the first one!

Personally I think we should start a class action law suit against the pee stick companies. I was actually quite worried (until I joined this thread and realised that I am pregnant after all!)

Imps7 · 20/07/2011 19:51

Have thanks for the tip - do you go for the Activia? Do the Actimel work do you know? I quite like Actimel, despite the enormous price for something so small.

I have already started checking my pants for the onset of AF, and I was very very tempted earlier to POAS. I'm 1 DPO. Shoot me, shoot me now.

Imps7 · 20/07/2011 19:53

(Unsure why I felt the need to put "the" before "Activia" and "Actimel". Curse this blessed baby brain of mine which I have had since about the age of 12)

Imps7 · 20/07/2011 19:53

which I have had since about the age of 12

havealittlefaithbaby · 20/07/2011 19:54

I go for activia myself. Just have one with my lunch at work. Never tried actimel. Tried yakult made me Envy but nausea not envy! Bleurgh!

jaggythistle · 20/07/2011 19:57

hi scream :)

i have been feeling a bit wallowy this week too, but my butt is now kicked back into non brooking mode. thanks drill sergeantimps.

statistically AF is due chez jaggy, em... tomorrow. so it won't be long till there's a positive pee stick to refute Monday's wrong one.

feeling a bit queasy tonight, obviously due to impending babyjaggyno2 and nothing to do with the fact that i stuffed down the last bit of my homemade cake after tea, when i wasn't really hungry. with golden syrup and crème fraîche on top in case it was a bit dry. almost like a craving it was...

Biscuitsandtea · 20/07/2011 19:58

Surely the Envy from yakult could have been pregnancy related?

Imps made me giggle with checking for AF 1dpo. Nice to know I'm not alone.......

jaggythistle · 20/07/2011 19:59

aw bold fail there, sorry imps

Biscuitsandtea · 20/07/2011 20:01

Jaggy if that wasn't a craving I don't know what is! Clearly babyjaggyno2 is going to be a fan of cake! Let us know what brand we should be using when you get your correct bfp - it is such a minefield to avoid these dodgy soon-to-be-sued-in-our-class-action brands that obviously test for blood alcohol levels instead of hsg or something.

jaggythistle · 20/07/2011 20:05

well Monday's was Asda price so avoid that. Grin

i don't actually have any more to play with, apart from the optimistic-bought-at-the-start-of-month-one CBD. (break glass in case of actual BFP).

maybebabyR · 20/07/2011 20:13

I have just proven the theory that anything, yes, ANYTHING can be a symptom of pregnancy. Last few days I have had an itchy head. Googled it, and what do you know......early pregnancy symptom. I am a textbook pregnancy.

Golden syrup and creme fraiche sounds immense Jaggy

LoveInAColdChamberOfSecrets · 20/07/2011 20:17

Evening all - wow, it's so busy in here and there is so much Brooking No Argument. You are all so clearly pregnant, the ante natal thread will be packed out soon.

If anyone is interested, the following is a list of the things I did differently in the cycle we conceived - it may be that none of them had anything to do with it but you never know...

Had acupuncture the day of ovulation and a week afterwards.

Had a fertility clinic appointment booked which I had to cancel post B
BFP.

Cut out dairy on the advice of acupuncturist, but this depends on what "type" you are - there is lots on this in The Baby Making Bible.

Used Shag Dictator for the first time and sexed every high or peak day.

Did lots of visualisation of sperm meeting egg, fertilising egg, egg implanting strongly etc Blush.

May be that none of it helped but you never know...

Come on Rat Smackers, this is your month!

Cut down on drinking very significantly - hardly drank at all.

thelittlefriend · 20/07/2011 20:17

oh yes, I have a CBD in the cupboard, never to be used until a BFP has been confirmed at least five times by cheapies. Then it will be framed and hung on the wall.

LoveInAColdChamberOfSecrets · 20/07/2011 20:18

Blimmin' phone, the no booze bit was meant to be part of the list and an extra B sneaked in somehow...

jaggythistle · 20/07/2011 20:20

maybe i spent about 4 days Googling excessive salivation, convinced that i had it bad. turned out i was just slavering a lot for no reason. how gutted was I?!

jaggythistle · 20/07/2011 20:23

Grin at the CBDs stashed in the back of the cupboard!

mine'll be out of date at this rate!

maybebabyR · 20/07/2011 20:25

Grin Jaggy

I just think it is brilliant that we can blame so much on our pregnancies Smile

Thanks for the tips Love Will be giving that all a go next month me thinks!

I too want to frame a CBD. I will be so excited to actually see it in words!

MooseCakey · 20/07/2011 20:48

I couldn't keep a CBD at the back of the cupboard, I'd use it within a day.

I agree maybe there's so much to blame on pregnancy. Today I learnt that the masses of hair coming out every time I've washed my hair this week is also because I'm clearly pg. No bald patches thankfully!

jaggythistle · 20/07/2011 21:14

right. good night pregnant ladies, off for another early night. i struggle with the early morning shift.

tomorrow i will be brooking no argument big style, AF can just feck the feck off and stay away for a considerable amount of time. am not expecting proof too soon however, last month's was a cheeky 30 odd day cycle to confuse me.

i was actually giving my body a good talking to on the drive home from work today. so it should know that it's jolly well pregnant and better show it soon.

zzz...

GenericDietCola · 20/07/2011 21:17

Have glad your thingy went well today, is a little painful. THIS IS THE MONTH for you - I'm so pleased!

Biscuits - keep the faith, you will be confirming your pregnancy any day now (as long as the pee stick revolt is over)

Jaggy - love your break glass in case of BFP CBD - you will need it any day now!

Love - thanks for the tips - I am going to try to visualisation thing - can't hurt can it?

Maybe - only a few days for you now til you get the BFP

Hello all, feeling much more positive today. I have decided it is a Good Thing that my af has come because (1) it is my first proper one since my MC in March and therefore (2) it is my body's way of saying it is back to normal now and ready to house my beautiful baby. Oooh, plus, I think if when I get pregnant this month that means my due date would be around the same date as the first anniversary of my miscarriage, which is exactly what happened when I had DD (who was born exactly 1 year after my first miscarriage) and somehow this was very soothing.

I have bought vitamin B6 this month to lengthen my LP - I used that when I conceived DD, so there's another great omen for this month.

BRING IT ON!

GenericDietCola · 20/07/2011 21:19

Sorry Have meant if a little painful
