New thread, hopefully not clashing with another new thread! This Is Our Month, Rat Smackers.

OP posts:
havealittlefaithbaby · 20/07/2011 21:19

I too have a cbd stashed in the bathroom cupboard! My friends took a photo holding their 'pregnant' cbd as a couple with Shock faces and posted at time of 12 week scan!
Confess it to be unlikely that the yakult caused the Envy because this was 9 years ago and I was still a virgin at the time! Hmm! But yes activia do help.
Nice to see you love. I'm contemplating acupuncture. Can one buy this fertility/nutrition book on Amazon? My copy of Taking charge of your fertility is well thumbed...
I had an inspired thought earlier! You know we decide this is the month and we're pregnant from cd1? Well don't.docs date your pregnancy from the last af? Ie technically you're 'pregnant' before you've ovulated? But physically you're not pregnant for the first two weeks of your pregnancy?
So actually we're scientifically correct! U am pregnant, just need the bfp in 20 days time to prove it! (Did that make any sense?!)

thelittlefriend · 20/07/2011 21:26

have I had exactly the same thought today. If we find out it was another practise month and af arrives, it doesn't matter because we are pregnant again on day 1 of the next cycle. So we ARE right!

NinjaChipmunk · 20/07/2011 21:27

Evening! Blimey you lot have been busy today. Hello scream I'm loving your total positivity.

I'm feeling left out as I don't have any pee sticks (unless you count ov pee sticks). Mind you, you all seem to have faulty ones so maybe its for the best?

maybebabyR · 20/07/2011 21:31

Generic so sorry about your m/cs, but great that your positivity has returned full pelt!

Have you are totally right. We ARE all pregnant!

Ninja I read ov sticks can double up as pregnancy tests, so we can all pee together (figuratively speaking) Grin

JoInScotland · 20/07/2011 21:33

NinjaChipmunk do not despair! I have the ovulation pee sticks and thought they were a con because I was testing every day last month and seemingly did not ovulate. (I did not think this was possible?) Anyway, I worked out I should ovulate on Saturday and bang right on schedule the ovulation pee stick showed double lines, so naturally I cornered my partner the day before and the day of ovulation and a few more days just to make sure. So keep on trying with the ovulation sticks!

NinjaChipmunk · 20/07/2011 21:38

Grin at us all peeing together, now that would be a whole new dimension to peeing on a stick!

BabySade · 21/07/2011 01:08

Hello pregnant ladies,
I have been watching/lurking on your lovely thread for a bit. I thought I should say hello as I've basking stealing your positive vibes!
I have been TTC No 1 since December & have decided to brook no arguments till I get my BFP Grin

I was due AF today, no sign yet but a BFN. Obviously I ovulated late & will get my BFP soon. I'm very tired, feel constantly sick, have been eating for two for months. I am clearly upduffed Wink

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 21/07/2011 06:19

Hi BabySade I'm new too!

Is anyone else finding themselves waking up an hour before their alarm each morning and instantly consumed with the need to pee on a stick?! Now that I know I am, in fact, already pregnant I thought the crushing disappointment that immediately follows all stick-meets-urine events would have lifted. However this is apparently not true.

What do these pee sticks WANT!?! We're pregnant, we're practically walking textbooks of pregnancy symptoms, and we're providing FMU a respectable number of days after ov. Sometimes I just want to give my pee stick a good shake!! (Hmm, on second thought... maybe not...)

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 21/07/2011 06:22

Has anyone else on team Monday succumbed to temptation carried out a practice run this morning? Let's get the inevitable flurry of weekend BFPs off to an early start!

Biscuitsandtea · 21/07/2011 06:37

Nope - I don't have any pee sticks in the house at all - a completely pee stick free zone. I refuse to buy any until AF is at least 2+ days late and as I ov'd late I'm not buying any until after Monday.

Anyway as you'll all be confirming your bfps on Monday it will give us something to spread the excitement out across the week.

Morning everyone - Brew for anyone? xx

LoveInAColdChamberOfSecrets · 21/07/2011 06:47

Have - yes, I bought The Baby Making Bible on Amazon - I'd give you my copy but have already lent it to someone. It's very good and very positive if a little woo in places.

TinFairy · 21/07/2011 06:52

The broken pee stick debacle rumbles on...

A question for the veteran rat smackers, if I may? Hypothetically, if one of those little cheapie tests showed a definite positive after 5 mins, but the line had disappeared after 8 mins, how would one interpret that?

This is purely a musing as I will of course not be POAS to confirm what we already know until a sensible time after AF goes AWOL

jaggythistle · 21/07/2011 06:54

Morning. What are you all doing up and posting at this ridiculous hour? I'm at work (slaving away as you can see) so no choice. :)

Good job on the pee-stick free zone biscuits, I feel better now that all I have is the emergency CBD.

I checked and my max cycle so far has been 31 days, which would be Friday. So if I am still brooking on Saturday I may have to go shopping. No of course I will have to.

Imps7 · 21/07/2011 07:04

Oooh yes a Brew would be fab thanks Biscuits - decaff if possible

Well I had the most horrid dream last night - I murdered two people! I killed one of them (who I think may have been Rebekah Brooks, although I can't be certain) in my parents' house and then ran away leaving them to find the body and deal with the police! And then I killed the other one in a really posh hotel - I think he may have been Rupert Murdoch.

It was all rather horrible and a clear sign of impending BFP. Obviously my brain was not at all influenced by the fact that I discovered yesterday from Farfalla and thelittlefriend and TwoWeekWait.com that vivid and bizarre dreams is an early pregnancy symptom. Not at all.

I also spent a long time yesterday in bed visualising conception and implantation and am now fairly happy that I can actually imagine this bit happening to me now, rather than conception being something that only happens to other people. One step at a time I guess!

Imps7 · 21/07/2011 07:08

Arg, TinFairy - no idea how I'd interpret that one! I'd deffo retest in those circs.

TinFairy · 21/07/2011 07:25

Imps, it happened yesterday (although I didn't time it then) and I did retest with a First Response which was BFN. Did a cheap test again this morning just 'cos, you know, I'm so clearly preggo this month that all those cheap tests will just be sitting gathering dust after this month.... Anyhow, timed it this time and very clear line up to about 6 mins. Brushed my teeth and checked again at past 8 mins and nothing. Nada.

Don't want to pee on another fiver take another First Response until closer to AF due date.

No-one mentioned that this rat smacking lark requires the patience of a saint and nerves of steel. Good job we're all made of stern stuff, eh?

Biscuitsandtea · 21/07/2011 07:32

How many days away from AF would you be Tinfairy? Or when would you have been expecting her? Certainly sounds promising. I know when i've read the instructions they tell you to ignore anything after a certain amount of time don't they. Like it could take x minutes for the result to show but you should disregard anything after y minutes?

If you retested straight after on a FR one then that wouldn't have been FMU? Which could explain that one's lack of agreement?

Anyway - everything crossed that this is the one for you xxx

MooseCakey · 21/07/2011 08:35

That's a tricky one tinfairy, I agree with biscuits that not being fmu could make the difference. Annoying to have to wait to tomorrow for another first response Sad

I also could do with some poas advice! My average cycle is 31 but it varies a lot at the moment because I've only been off the pill 3 months. Before the pill I was regularly 30 or 31 days. Today is cd31 (so of course if haven't been poasing daily for a week, no, definitely not, ahem Blush) and today's pee stick showed an extreeeemely faint line. I'm trying not to get too excited since it's so faint I can hardly see it, although dh saw it too so it's not just my clearly updiffed hormones making me imagine compliant pee sticks.

What does everyone think? It's an Internet cheapie, use another Internet cheapie tomorrow? Buy a super expensive one for tomorrow? Start looking at maternity wear and baby clothes?

Biscuitsandtea · 21/07/2011 08:49

Oooh Moose fingers crossed for you. If it were me and it was a faint line I would probably try another cheapie tomorrow and every day until I saw a more definite line and then I would get a more expensive one just to be sure. But I would DEFINITELY be testing again tomorrow with something (Internet one or FR).

Oh and I would totally be looking at maternity clothes and prams, but then I already am and haven't had a sniff of a BFP found a pee stick that agrees with me yet :) xx

Good luck xxxx

maybebabyR · 21/07/2011 08:56

My goodness we are busy this morning Grin

2 potential confirmations of what we already know! Moose I also agree with the non-FMU thing, plus, internet cheapies are more sensitive than FR, so it may yake a few more days before a BFP on one of them!

Sounds very promising for you too Tin

There was little old me this morning, thinking 'no, I must not POAS. I told the other pregnant ladies I wouldn't till Friday'. I should have rebelled Grin

Anyone else have a sore throat and runny nose?

jaggythistle · 21/07/2011 09:00

moose I believe it is pretty hard to get a false positive, so that does sound good!

The only ones that definitely do false positives are those frickin ClearBlue + type ones, which got my hopes up a lot a few months ago - Grrrrrrrrr!!

Biscuitsandtea · 21/07/2011 09:00

babysade you're definitely preggo. Must be the month for ov'ing late. Think I did (about 6 days later than normal!) and otherwise AF was due yesterday so I would have been beside myself by today but with this knowledge I just know i may have to wait until next week to confirm what we already knew. xx

Incidentally my iPhone tried to autocorrect babysade to 'bs usage'..... Hmm

TigerseyeMum · 21/07/2011 09:03

Morning Ratsmackers. I have read back but there was so much I got a bit Confused

I am also a bit Confused as my long 32-34 day cycle has suddenly become a 28 day cycle, as AF arrived this morning.

So although my temps never changed at all - I was waiting for a high to show I had ovved - I am now at the end of that cycle and the start of another. But, my temp has shot up this morning - isn't it meant to dip when you start AF?

Well, I have no clue wtf is going on.

But, in the spirit of determination shall keep charting and keeping an eye on that rat. Because, you know, this could be our month Hmm

TinFairy · 21/07/2011 09:06

maybe, I am in awe of your POAS willpower. What's your secret? I tell myself I won't but before I know it; I'm in the bathroom with a stick in my hand and wee all over the place

moose, sounds like you have at least foound a pee stick that is amenable to your way of thinking. Mine are just teasing me! In your position I'd definitely rush out and buy a First Response test again tomorrow.

AF isn?t due til next Friday (so 8 days or so). That?s a rough estimate as I?ve just come off Cerazette. Although I?m one of those seemingly rare people who has had regular periods on it.

I know! I know! I?m clearly torturing myself by testing this soon but I have all the symptoms which could equally be attributable to having only come off the pill 3 weeks ago

Yesterday morning was when I first saw the 2nd line on a cheapie test. So I tested immediately with the First Response - I pee in a cup* so the FR test was also done with the same FMU. I didn?t time the cheapie so I don?t know how long it was before line disappeared.

This morning, pee?d in the cup again this morning and just used the cheapie. The test says to confirm a negative, you should read at 5 minutes. I timed using the stopwatch on my phone and at 5 minutes, there was a definite line. Brushed my teeth and looked at the test again at just past 8 minutes and the line had gone. I?m loathe to pee on another fiverwaste a First Response til at least the day AF is due or a few days before . Cheap pee sticks are indeed the work of the devil.

  • cup is actually a ramekin. How very MN of me Grin I?m just pleased to have found a use for the buggers at last. I must have 30 of them stashed in the cupboard. However, this is not just any ramekin, this is an M&S ramekin?
TinFairy · 21/07/2011 09:08

Strike out fail! Soz. Is there any surer indicator of baby brain?
