New thread, hopefully not clashing with another new thread! This Is Our Month, Rat Smackers.

Hello rat smackers,
Good to see lots of rat smacking going on in my absence.
Had a lovely holiday which is just what we needed to recover post miscarriage.
Lord knows where I am in the cyle and when I will get AF (if at all as I am clearly already up diffed) but we smacked the rat every day (sometimes twice) for 2 weeks so if it was meant to happen this month its had a bloody good shot at it.

On holiday I mostly ate: clams, mussels and other dodgy shellfish, smelly French cheese, Parma ham, all washed down with huge amounts of booze. I also forgot to pack folic acid or my Zita West vits so I am clearly updiffed in an ironical way.

A quick note on cervical mucus - the first month I did not notice any was the month I got updiffed so its all a bit hit and miss I reckons.

Can I just quickly ask - are any other Rat Smackers due to go to the Fertility Clinic in the next few months, if no luck? (Obviously you're all pregnant so not at all sure why I'm asking ).

Our GP wants us shunted up there by the autumn if no luck by then (we've been off contraception for 3 years and actively trying since January 2010). I'm trying to Keep Calm about it (I worry about the pain of an HSG but I'm told it's not always rotten and anyway, it might get me diffed the next month) and it would be quaite naice to know if anyone else is in a similar boat....

bloofer I have my first appointment on 4 Aug but obviously I won't have to go as I'm pregnant. So pregnant in fact that I have had several bouts of forgetfulness today including leaving my belt at home (now I have to keep hitching up my trousers) and spending 20 minutes trying to turn off the predicitve text on the work mobile phone as it wouldn't let me type the word Claygate.
On the subject of egg whites I've never used pre-seed but do use concieve plus every now and then. I doubt it increases chances of up-duff-ness but a bit of slip'n'slide is always fun

Clearly updiffed then, pasta craving is a classic symptom!!!

So much rat smacking, twas unreal, we just need to keep it up when not on hols which is impossible so clearly the solution is to go on hols every month during fertile period

Have really sore boobs and feel a bit grim this morning.
Its not AF clearly but a nice BFP.
I am now resisting the temptation to test until this weekend at a minimum!

AF arrived this morning so the pee sticks weren't wrong after all.

Unless...........it's implantation bleeding (very late) and I'm pregnant after all. Actually, I must be. I've just managed to consume a large Galaxy bar which can only be a craving, I'm not usually so greedy.

Scarlet you clearly bought a dodgy batch of pee sticks - you are just having your usual monthly gestational bleed, surely? Hope you're okay - is it a suitable night to crack open the wine?

Am having aches and pains in the ovarial regions today, and there was the slightest tinge of pink in a couple of blobs of CM. I've never had ovulation bleeding before - had no idea that it was even a thing (I say that like I'm 100% certain it is ovulation bleeding, which is unlikely given that I am a bona fide TTC dunce). Maybe you had something similar this month didn't you? Has anyone else leaked pinkish CM during ovulation??

I'm pleased I managed to get the whole day off - annual leave but it saves me explaining to my boss, she hasn't got kids but I don't know if that was choice so she'd have no empathy or not so she'd totally understand! Bottom line is my job is not continuing I'm September so timing couldn't be worse! DH has decided this is definitely the month. Marvellous!

Imps the wine was cracked open last night, DH and I managed to sink 2 bottles of red while watching The Apprentice Final. As I'd had 3 BFNs I figured AF must be putting in an appearance at some point so it was nice to relax and enjoy a few drinks. Will be alcohol free tonight, my head's been rather foggy today and I've got a busy day tomorrow.

I often get twinges around ovulation time, but I've never had any bleeding.

Switched on my Clearblue fertility monitor this morning. I brought it 4 years ago while trying for DS. I was determined to just go with the flow this time but it's getting too stressy. As AF arrived late for me this month we must have been smacking the rat at completely the wrong time. My body is not going to get away with tricking me this month!

Biscuits as far as I know, pre-seed tries to replicate ewcm. so if you are lacking, it might be hard for the little swimmers to get to the golden egg. So in theory, it could help you get up diffed. But, as Bloofer pointed out, EWCM is probably not a huge factor in getting up diffed anyway. Can't hurt though, hey?

Bloofer I've not been sent to the fc yet, but am having fanny cam next thursday. Can't wait for them to confirm my obvious pregnancy.

I've always thought of EWCM as the water in a water slide at a leisure pool (do people still call them "leisure pools"? (Come to think of it did people ever call them "leisure pools"??)). If there wasn't a stream of water running down the slide, you'd sit at the top but you wouldn't get much further (or if you did, you'd probably be suffering from severe arse-chafing by the time you got to the bottom). However, with the water, you can easily slip and slide your way to the bottom. However, just because you've slipped and slid to the bottom, it doesn't necessarily mean you'll, errr, meet an egg and, err, get together with that egg...okay, have lost my way with the metaphor now. Upshot it, I think it makes the sperm meet the egg more easily but it doesn't necessarily increase the chance of the sperm and egg creating a beautiful snuffly new life.

Pre-seed - yes, very good (albeit chilly) stuff but if you use too much (or you have a lot of your own EW) then you run the risk of slipping right out of bed and slamming into the wall

Which may or may not be what you want in the romantic department.

I'm finding the baking quite relaxing here. my workmates and i are going to be fat but happy. (DH not that impressed)

of course my fatness will be disguised by a big bump soon enough.

Evening my fertile friends, i'm going for a craft based evening tonight. I'm going to cut the lino for dp's birthday card. Must remember not to skewer myself with the lino tool this time.
