New thread, hopefully not clashing with another new thread! This Is Our Month, Rat Smackers.

OP posts:
havealittlefaithbaby · 16/07/2011 20:16

Welcome Scarlet of course you are pregnant! The pee sticks are clearly stupid.
No rat smacking for me til Thursday because I've got my Hsg and pelvic ultrasound so can't be pregnant until afterwards. So weird first time in my life I've ever had to buy condoms! (DH waited til we married and I went straight on the pill!). But obviously will get my ironic bfp having had my invasive tests this month for my birthday.

scarletfingernail · 16/07/2011 21:09

Thanks havealittlefaithbaby

Very exciting going for your Hsg. I finally got pregnant with DS the cycle after I had my Hsg 3 years ago. The Gynae doctor reckons the dye may have pushed out a small blockage, which apparently happens quite a lot.

NinjaChipmunk · 16/07/2011 21:18

evening my lovely updiffed ones and how are we all tonight? hello to all the newbies and welcome to your pregnancies. I'm craving some kind of snack but i can't quite put my finger on it. How pregnant is that? cd13 here and the shagathon is in full swing. in such full swing that my inards are a little tender this evening. Blush

TigerseyeMum · 16/07/2011 21:34

Blimey, Ninjaswinging! More athletic than other types of swinging!

Is a temp of 36.5 high? Maybe I have already ovved?

NinjaChipmunk · 16/07/2011 21:50

i have no idea whatsoever on temps i'm afraid. I have just found a chocolate/ popping candy bar so am eating that popping candy is weird.

maybebabyR · 16/07/2011 21:52

Popping candy is indeed weird. Which just makes you want to put it in your mouth.

I have just made apple crumble cupcakes. Definitely updiffed. AND have gone off red wine. Not white though Hmm

Welcome newly updiffed ladies Smile

NinjaChipmunk · 16/07/2011 22:04

wow apple crumble cupcakes sound fabulous

GenericDietCola · 16/07/2011 22:53

Maybe I went off red wine too (but not white). My updiffed points have gone down - boo

jaggythistle · 16/07/2011 23:02

obviously if you happen to have a practice month, updiffed points will carry over to the next one. thus meaning you'll be even more pg.

jaggythistle · 16/07/2011 23:15

i haven't gone off red or white wine, is it compulsory? maybe I'll try pink wine next weekend in case I'm off that.

feel a bit funny right now, could possibly be due to recent consumption of large chunk of Wensleydale with cranberries i suppose.

agree apple crumble cupcakes sound awesome, we'll need to start sharing recipes as part of our communal nesting. :)

herethereandeverywhere · 17/07/2011 08:32

.......

B.F.P!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Smile Smile Smile

We knew it all along ladies, I'm indeed updiffered. I'm as pregnant as pregnant thing on national pregnant day.

I'd had a few funny feelings since about Thursday eg: wanted sushi, took one bite and binned it and went and bought pick n mix instead. Opened the bag only to think it smelt of vomit. And I've had dizzy spells but was forcing myself to think it must be a sinus infection coming on.

And I've been tempting fate something chronic:

In the next month we have:
dinner with friends we haven't seen for ages, a weekend away with other friends and a wedding with a third group of friends. No boozy fun for me now!
Last night to comiserate my [INCORRECT!] BFN I had half a bottle of wine and a glass of lager and drank the same amount on Friday night Blush Oh well, maybe the baby will become a sommelier in later life.

I'm not getting overly excited yet, the line was faint but definitely there and there within 3 minutes. Just us on this thread and the DH know for the time being. I'm so happy Grin

Remember ladies, the curious mix of positivity and tempting fate will not let you down! Scarlet you could be having a similar experience to me. I've been pg before so thought I was pg - Keep the faith!

Biscuitsandtea · 17/07/2011 08:51

Congratulations Herethere brilliant news. Hope you have a problem free pg xx

So far I have been pg for 19mths but have really not suffered with symptoms too much, other than a bleed every 4 weeks or so that you might think was AF if I wasn't so obviously pg....

herethereandeverywhere · 17/07/2011 08:59

Hey Biscuits thanks. It took 15 months to conceive DD and this one was 6 months so hang in there. Despite the rest of the world seemingly conceiving 1st month after 1 shag it CAN still happen and it WILL.

And all the positivity on this thread is so infectious! Positive People Have Positive Peesticks - another motto for our fellow ratsmackers, I might get some tshirts printed up!

Biscuitsandtea · 17/07/2011 09:05

I love that 'positive people have positive peesticks'

I'm going to get a poster of that above our bed

I'm thinking in the style of Keep Calm and Carry On, which might be an equally valid message - maybe I should get them next to each other.....

herethereandeverywhere · 17/07/2011 09:08

Great idea Biscuits!

Biscuitsandtea · 17/07/2011 09:19

MaybeBaby will you share your recipe? They sound lovely - I do appreciate that this isn't quite the point of the thread but can't resist something combining my 2 favourite things - apple crumble and cupcakes Grin

TigerseyeMum · 17/07/2011 09:31

Yay Here congratulations Grin

It seems my temp has gone up by .2 of a degree this morning, so perhaps yesterday was 'the time'. Unfortunately, after the toddler party we were to shattered. Fingers crossed a few swimmers hung around from midnight on Thursday.

BlooferLady · 17/07/2011 09:35

Oh Oh Oh CONGRATUMALATIONS Here! Grin Splendid news. I shall henceforth consider vomit-smelling pic'n'mix the ultimate test of diffedness.

Biscuits I have been pregnant 19 months too! Will you be my pal? . what IS it with that weird bleeding every 4 weeks? And further more, where are our babies? I am puzzled.

Am interested in this diffed-post-HSG stuff . I will be off to the FC in the autumn and imagine an HSG will be on the cards. I am dreading it - lots of friends have had it and say it's hideous - but if it clears hitherto undiscovered blockages, then a bit of Blitz Spirit should be on the cards.

Now then, I started spotting yesterday and got a BFN this morning so can only assume this was ANOTHER practice month. Ho hum. I discovered said spottage just before gig in which the lead singer (on whom I have a massive crush) announced she and her husband (the pianist) had had a baby weeks ago and were going to perform a lullaby. The baby has STOLEN THE NAME WE WERE GOING TO USE and the lullaby was a man singing to his son, which just made me think of my dear, darling husband and how sad he is about all this, so I HOWLED all the way through the song and for about 10 minutes after Blush. But weirdly I think that has got all the sadness for this month out of the way because I feel strangely chipper now! And lovely lovely DH said, "Well then we can look forward to lots of sex again then can't we? And looks like we're going to have to do it THREE times a day this time"! Grin

TigerseyeMum · 17/07/2011 09:44

3 times a day???? Shock

Now that's dedication Grin

We struggle with 3 times a week Hmm

Biscuitsandtea · 17/07/2011 09:48

Definitely Bloofer - where ARE our babies? Surely some medical journal should be after our story by now?

Oh, and I had a HSG x-ray dye thing in May and it really wasn't that bad. I have also heard that it can improve chances for 3 mths or so. We are in the 2ww second cycle after it so we'll see..... It really wasn't too bad though. I have heard various people have different experience so of course I am sure things vary from person to person but it needn't definitely be bad (iyswim Hmm). Staff were really lovely and explained everything. I think it felt a bit like period pains as the dye went in but maybe a bit sharper rather than crampy? Didn't last long and I didn't have painkillers after, although I had taken some with me just in case. They offer you a sanitary pad after as you might bleed for a few hours but I had taken my own having experienced hospital pads before (they're not exactly the super slim ones!)

Fingers crossed you won't need it anyway and BFP comes before then xx

Biscuitsandtea · 17/07/2011 09:53

Oh yes - and three times a day is definitely a bit of blitz spirit - not sure I could mange that Confused

Re the baby name thing, I have a policy that I don't care what other people call their kids. Unless it was a proper direct family member if I like a name I'm having it! My fave girls name is Isabelle and since we have been ttc two friends (both in the same friend group) have had girls called Isabelle. If When we get there if we need a girl's name I still consider it to be in the running. Smile xx

tethersend · 17/07/2011 10:01

Helloooo? Can I gatecrash and ask for some help please? Have not been TTC, but have not been careful either.

Haven't had a period for about 45 days- have had period pains for a week and a half but no period. I'm about 10 days late.

Can't stop crying- I am an emotional mess. Not my usual steely self.

Feel sick.

Feel tired.

Keep knocking things over.

Have now taken FOUR tests- all -ve. Most recent one this morning.

Have GP appt on Thursday but am so confused- just looking for a bit of advice really, or a manly "pull yourself together", take your pick Grin

GenericDietCola · 17/07/2011 10:13

Oh congratulations here that is marvellous news! So happy for you!

Bloofer and Biscuits your babies are going to be awesome by the time they come out.

Tigers best get to it now, just in case...

Tethers welcome - you are clearly pregnant but the pee stick is wrong.

Jaggy it must be the aversion for pink wine for you - try it and see (because we all know you are pregnant)

We are doing lots of the sex, but no idea if I've ovulated or when it will be. Ov sticks still hate me. I had a MMC in March and since then have been diagnosed with a large adenomyoma (benign tumour in my uterus) and adenomyosis (a bit like endometriosis, but the muscle around the uterus grown into the lining of the uterus). My consultant says it shouldn't affect fertility but I bled for 5 weeks (yes weeks) until about a week ago. It's finally stopped, but goodness knows what cycle day that puts me at.

Anyhoo, despite all this I know I'm preggo so I'm off to sniff some new carpets and eat gherkins and icecream.

GenericDietCola · 17/07/2011 10:16

Scarlet sorry about your miscarriages - I've had 2 as well and they are horrible. We all know you're preggo - don't believe the sticks.

have we all know you will get your ironic BFP this month now you are getting all the tests - well done in advance.

maybebabyR · 17/07/2011 10:26

Here Congratulations! We knew it all along though... Grin

I am excited that not wanting red wine may be a symptom.

Biscuits Of course I can share the recipe! Will type it up for you.

Generic That sounds terrible. You poor thing. But Gherkins you say? Yes please, with a large side of pickled onions Hmm

Hello to all new people. My, what a large bunch of obviously pregnant ladies we are Smile
