And there we go...

Shiny, winy (but never whiny) new thread!

Come on in then, settle down and pass the gin. No baby dust, no huns and no fecking glue, just lethal combinations of dodgy duty free and the confidence to use the word PERIOD required.

Yay fish so pleased about scan! Nice early Christmas gift for you! Have a lovely time away!

Have stayed off work today, fel like death warmed up! Paracetemol is shite! Counting down the hours until Saturday until our scan, am petrified the baby hasn't survived the bleed, but I've never been the worlds greatest optimist so no great surprise there.

tabby I wouldn't go mental on the vodka but abstaining completely will just make things worse, have a few glasses of wine and relax, if your period is on it's way stress delays it so better to be relaxed and if implantation is going on then well, it's better you are relaxed for that too!

Nearly the weekend all!

anicecuppatea · 16/12/2011 12:52

Lovely, lovely ladies. Please may I join your hilarious thread? Am slowly going insane and think this might just save me... Anyone fancy a lovely lip-numbing gin martini with me? My history in a nutshell: I'm 32, married 2.5 years, been ttc for 18 months with nothing to show for it except 2 mmc (both discovered/confirmed at 12 wk scan). 2nd one v recent and tres raw. Bollocks isn't it?

Fishandjam · 16/12/2011 17:11

Welcome cuppa! Sorry to hear of your m/cs. Two missed ones is shite luck. Know what you mean about feeling raw. Stick with us though, our track record has been pretty darn reasonable of late...

Your username reminds me of a v bad joke. Noddy Holder is getting ready for a TV appearance, in full retro Slade gear. The wardrobe assistant says "kipper tie?" Noddy says " bosting, two sugars please."

Well, we survived the journey - security was the worst part. DS, bless him and keep him, slept all night once we got to SIL's.

Everyone else ok? Has this majorly awful weather hit yet?

Fishandjam · 16/12/2011 17:15

PS wino, I'm sure all will be fine on Sat. But tons of mentalling is allowed, nay mandatory. (I didn't ask before, but prior to the bleed had you and Mr Wino, erm, got jiggy? Could be a bit of cervical erosion if so!)

jewelsandbinoculars · 17/12/2011 14:19

Yo posse. Thanks for indulging me with all the tea and sympathy. I don't think, objectively speaking, and by comparison to the majority (including those here - partic you, fishter, I know you've had a right ol time of it) that I have had it that bad, was just having a bit of a wallow. But is v nice to have the space to do that. Feeling a bit less melancholy again, despite fairly brutal post office party hangover. (I think today is going to be a bit of a write off).

Anyway, glad you're not going anywhere peeps, and that we have lovely newbs to welcome. How exciting! Sorry about the mmcs, cuppa. It's really, really shit, isn't it? Are you getting support in RL? In normal circs I would def join you for a martini but given my delicate state I will stick to the black coffee for now. Excuse the dressing gown though would you? Putting actual clothes on is a bit beyond me today.

wino? any news? x

TabbyMcTat · 17/12/2011 15:58

Hello cuppa, sorry to hear about the mmcs. Hope you're getting lots of support.

Jewels, those Post Office parties are notorious! Grin

Wino, I am crossing everything and hoping for good news after your scan.

No period here yet (I am either on day 25 or 27 depending on whether I count two days of spotting at the beginning of the last, weirdly early period). So could still go either way ... I am trying not to think about it, but my god it makes time drag!!!

openerofjars · 17/12/2011 17:26

Quick one: snogs all round as have purchased mistletoe.

Wino? Fingers crossed, girl.

Have palpitations and breathlessness so am in bed, trying to get waited on hand & foot & failing miserably. Bastard midwife supposed to be texting me iron levels from loads but no joy...

Hi cuppa, gin?

Impatientwino · 18/12/2011 11:20

Hi! Super quick one as family have descended for weekend, will come back tomorrow

Scan was fine, hb was there so very relieved!

Hi cuppa! Certainly is bollocks, look forward to chatting with you, in the meantime, quadruple gin for you...

Jars, hope you're feeling better?

Jewels, hope the hangover has subsided now

Fish, hope you got some sleep!

Tabby, any sign of period?

TabbyMcTat · 18/12/2011 19:14

Hooray wino, so pleased to hear that! What a relief!

No period yet ... but not really sure when to expect it so still in limbo really.

Too tired to think of anything interesting or witty to say I'm afraid!

TbotsMummy · 18/12/2011 20:48

Hey, can I join you ladies??

Im 30, my hubby is 46, married 3 and a half years. We are trying to conceive our 2nd bambino, a little bro or sister for Tyler who has recently turned 1 :)

Anyway, Im not a wine drinker but I've got plenty vodka here if anyone would like a swatch... currently on cd11 of cycle 4 x

Fishandjam · 20/12/2011 00:34

Yo dudes,

Welcome tbots. Ta muchly for the voddy. I've got some root beer as a mixer?

jewels, you're allowed a wallow. Other people having, in your mind, a worse time, means nothing - (a) it's not a competition (b) those other people may think that you've had a worse time, actually. And you have to let the grief run its course.

Lecture over.

wino, top news re scan. We all knew twould be fine, but I bet you're relieved nevertheless.

I've been horribly jetlagged, and the nausea has come back. Srsly, it's like going back 5 weeks. Teeeeee-dious.

TabbyMcTat · 20/12/2011 08:25

Just a quick one to say that I POAS this morning and er, well, it appears to be a positive result! I am still in shock and I'm sure that someone is going to tell me it's a mistake and I'm not really pregnant! I think I just need some time to absorb it. I am half excited, half petrified.

So looks like no Christmas drinking for me...

TbotsMummy · 20/12/2011 11:20

Fish, I've never tried root beer as a mixer, gotta be worth a try... Failing that I've plenty diet coke :D

Congrats on your bfp Tabby, defo an alcohol free Xmas for you :)

Gonna have a wee self pity moan, feel utter crap, was up all night Sunday with d&v and now I'm choked with a cold :( Cannot be ill this week, too much to do for Sunday with the family coming to us.... OK rant over

Hope everyone had a better weekend than me.... Xx

desperateoldie67 · 21/12/2011 11:36

Hello ladies. I've not been around for a long-ass time due to bouts of intermittent crazyness. But I'm back to loiter for a bit. Still TTC, but still nothing. If nothing happens in the new year, then I'm off to the GP as it will have been a year! Am at work, so no time to read through the thread - especially as I've missed so much - but I hope everyone is as ok as they can be. Sister-in-law is due on Xmas day - am really hoping she either pops before or after...Otherwise, having a quiet Xmas with Mr. Desperate and rather looking forward to it. Am also hoping to do a wee bit of SWI this weekend, but need to pee on an ovulation stick first - am still not convinced anything is happening in that direction Confused

openerofjars · 24/12/2011 07:16

Morning all!

Just popping in to say Happy Christmas to one and all and may your secret stash of Baileys never run dry! All the best for fruitful results from Christmas shagging for those TTC and feet up/you do know you are allowed a small glass of wine AND stilton cheese is now permitted to those up the duff.

God bless us, every one.

OP posts:
desperateoldie67 · 26/12/2011 10:16

Peed on a stick...I WAS ovulating! Who'd a thought it, eh? So Mr. Desperate got a couple of early Xmas presents LOL! If by some miracle I AM pregnant, it will have been conceived on Xmas eve! That would be cool. But I'm not really hopeful, that way I won't be too disappointed. Oh, who the hell am I kidding!?

Hope everyone is having a great Xmas. Sister-in-law hasn't popped yet, but very excited about nephew arriving. Though I need to get rid of this hideous cold before I can be around him, so hoping he isn't born too soon! Managed to avoid the d&v, thank goodness, but loads of people at work had it.

Take care one and all.

Desperate

TabbyMcTat · 02/01/2012 12:16

Where is everyone?! Wino? Fish? What's happening?

Desperate, good news about the ovulation! Fingers crossed, hey?

Hope you all had a good Christmas. Mine was a very sober one and although I have so far managed to avoid being sick, I have been so ridiculously tired that I could almost fall asleep standing up.

Will be on the phone to the GP first thing tomorrow to get things rolling. I think I am six weeks but could be more due to erratic cycle so I need to see someone pronto and hopefully get a scan booked.

Anyway, Happy New Year to you all!

TbotsMummy · 02/01/2012 21:09

I'm still here, had a fairly quiet Christmas, Birthday and New Year... Boring or what lol.

Well the witch is due today, no sign of her yet but I'm desperately trying not to get my hopes up as my cycles have been erratic the past few months so I'm on day 26 of a possible 28 day cycle....plz let this be my month lol.

Hope everyone had a fab Xmas :) xx

Fishandjam · 03/01/2012 11:04

Hey y'all,

Happy New Year!

tabby, congrats on the BFP! I said that our track record was pretty good, and you're keeping the stats favourable.

desperate, good to see ya - have a glass of (slightly flat) new year's prosecco, and we'll toast your functioning ovaries. (Ooh, that sounds like some sort of Mediaeval curse, doesn't it!)

And a big kotch to wino, jars, tbots, jewels and anyone else still here.

In mememe news, the sickness and exhaustion appear to have finally fucked off (unless I get really tired or really hungry), for which I am grateful. They have, however, been replaced with indigestion, bloating, and restless legs, and also what feel suspiciously like Braxton Hicks. I started them last time at 18 weeks so am not unduly worried, but 14 weeks does seem a tad early for that kind of uterine shenanigans.

Impatientwino · 04/01/2012 09:18

Happy New Year my lovelies!

tabby Congrats!

desperate nice to hear form you again, hope all is well.

tbot got my fingers and toes crossed for you

fish Hope you had a lovely U S of Aaaaa Christmas. New pg symptom combo sounds just delightful! You lucky gal!

jewels you ok monkey?

jars you alright ma dear?

In wino world all is fine, scan on 11th so on count down until then...

Right, surely it's time for a proper drink? Tequila, Rum, Vino, Meths? Pick your poison ladies and hold out your buckets.....

desperateoldie67 · 04/01/2012 10:53

Hey ladies.

I've missed ya! I had to stop thinking of the old TTC stuff...it was doing me box in (literally!). But I'm back in the saddle again so to speak. I'm in the 2ww, which is a feckin' killer, and symptom-spotting for England (et al), but really, there's nothing to be done until AF either turns up or doesn't. Today it feels like she will, but my boobs feel HUUUUUUUUGE and they ain't exactly small at the best of times! Last night it felt that if I got up quickly I might take me own eye out LMAO!

Desperately hoping that we might have caught the golden egg this time ('specially seeing as there actually WAS one) because I'm 45 this year and time really ain't on my side Sad.

Hope you're all well. Please could you call keep your fingers crossed for me?

desperate

PS: This is only my first day back at work since 23rd December and already I want to go straight back home!

TbotsMummy · 04/01/2012 20:35

im still waiting on the witch getting me, on day 28 of my cycle....not got the courage to test yet tho as Im convinced its late as I have been unwell....found an out of date clear blue digital test in my drawer earlier so I might use that in the morning, fingers crossed it works haha xx

rudbekia · 05/01/2012 16:11

wow - can I gatecrash this group????

Hubby and I had the second child convo last night and he's up for it, so to speak...just got to get this latest cycle out the way and hooray! TTC time for us again! The bab is only just a yr old though so there's a nice feeling of no pressure at the moment, although I'm likely to become crazy and obsessive if I'm not careful - hence why I need a group like this to bitch-slap me (albeit metaphorically) from time to time.

I'm sending nothing sticky to anyone - just a bit of good old fashioned hope and a glass of plonk (or three) if periods turn up Wine Wine Wine

cakeladyc · 05/01/2012 22:10

Hello, may i join this pretty awesome sounding group of ladies?
I'm 30 (31 at the end of this month), hubby is 35, and we are ttc out first. I've been off the pill for 11 months and we've been trying ever since with absolutley no luck.
Period is due in 3 days, currently have lots of early symptoms, but read that thery're like the ones pre-period anyway so no getting my hopes up.
Got a little bit of cramping tonight too so.... we'll see...

Anyhoo thats enough crap about me, I have Baileys here if anyone wants one, or there's an evil look bottle of absinthe at the back of the cupboard for those really dark nights. Wine

desperateoldie67 · 06/01/2012 09:47

Sign me up for the absinthe. I was REALLY hopeful this month, but I can feel AF lurking ready to strike. WAIL

I finally ordered Toni Weschler's book and am going to take the whole charting thing a LOT more seriously. I can't handle the uncertainty of the 2ww. I'd rather be able to know by looking at the temps and CM and stuff. I really need to take it seriously cos at 44 I don't have much time left Sad

Sorry, feeling a bit down in the dumps today
