So very sorry to hear your news Tibby. You are in my thoughts.

Glad to hear that the bumps are nothing sinister Bradders.

Keep strong vanfurgston - it must be such a confusing time but you can get through it.

vanfurgston · 12/09/2011 19:23

whew got through the appointment. the doctor was very considerate and understanding. made me feel very comfortable. glad thats over. thanks for the support

Readynow · 13/09/2011 07:59

Sorry to hear about arrival of AF's & hope your first fertility appt went OK van. I was expecting a 28 day cycle this month - due to when I Ov'd & sure enough my temp has dropped today (CD28) so am expecting AF to make an appearance later today or tomorrow! :(
Am going to my GP on Friday to see if I can start some tests to find out why it has taken 7 months & nothing!

bradderswantsababy · 13/09/2011 13:25

well my first proper AF in 14 years has arrived. I wasnt pining much luch on being one of the few very lucky ladies that gets a BFP in month 1 of pill.

I can now tho at least start to try and track and chart and try for a beautiful June baby :)

Lucylucy57 · 13/09/2011 14:22

Positive thoughts bradders. Now its finally arrived, you know things are working in there and you can start charting properly and get a handle on things. Eyes on the prize!!

Prunella79 · 13/09/2011 17:37

bradders that gives me hope - read yesterday that some people take up to 6 months for AF to return after coming off the pill, immediately decided i'd be sure to have a long wait having been consistently on the pill for 15years, i'm glad to hear it doesn't necessarily follow. After a BFN the first month off i've never been keener for AF to arrive

Timtam78 · 13/09/2011 23:23

Me too! On day 35 and no sign of AF or OV... (Well did have signs of pre-OV but my temperatures are all over the place so don't have a clue whats going on). Great news though bradders! Happy charting!

bradderswantsababy · 14/09/2011 08:18

Yes ladies I agree I thought I would have to wait a lifetime for my first AF after the pill but have been lucky.

Let the charting commence! :)

Readynow · 14/09/2011 11:50

AF got me this morning! :( Totally expecting it & I suppose I should be pleased my cycles are in order. Just pissed off that it is taking sooo long!
Pipbin Did you work out what was going on with you?
Hope everyone else is OK & FX for some BFP's soon.

Lucylucy57 · 14/09/2011 15:46

Sorry to hear about your unwelcome arrival ready.
I was on the pill for 15yrs too prunella. I had no concept of what was normal for me in an adult body! Many of these symptoms of ovulation and pmt and stuff Ive never experienced till the last year. Im determined that this month will be 'the' month after the last ones doubtful ovulation. Thankfully this month seems much more 'on track' than the last and I have many more of the standard changes going on. Im on day 10 now so Im going to be SWI every day for the next week and a half just to be sure!!!! You will not mess with me mother nature!!

bradderswantsababy · 14/09/2011 17:19

Im so Confused!!!!!!!!!

AF started on Monday which as you can see from my last posts I was kind of pleased about.

TMI alert went to go and change my tampon and realised that I had forgotten to put on in this morning after my shower. Now day 3 of AF would have normally meant that evidence of no pluggedness would have been massively evident in my pants however this time no show of AF in pants??

Decided to have a feel up there to see what was going on and found that there was no sign on af what so ever?? Was it AF or just my body being very mean and giving me a false alarm???

AF up until this point has been very light. Come on body give me a break??? :(

Prunella79 · 14/09/2011 18:00

argh, bradders that happened to me already, a couple of weeks back, a light couple of days then nothing. asked around what it could be - the general concensus was that it was probably another withdrawal bleed. but then there's always the possibility it could be implantation Hmm sadly wasn't with me though.

Pipbin · 14/09/2011 18:05

Sounds like what I have just had. Two and a half days.
Since coming off the pill I have only had one big 'proper' period, everything else has been a bit weedy.

CaveMum · 15/09/2011 14:46

Quick post from me as I'm still having to post from my phone (BT screwed up our phone connection/broadband, buts that's a whle other story Angry)

Day 26 and no sign of ovulation (consistently low temps) so I'm guessing my body was just trying to get my hopes up, again Sad

On a positive note my appointment with the clinic to start Clomid has come through - Monday! Fingers crossed we get thing going!

OP posts:
LateToThisBabyMalarky · 15/09/2011 22:20

Great news Cave, will be thinking of you on Monday and fx the Clomid delivers RESULTS! Grin

I think I may be ov-ing, the op strip gave me a positive yesterday but my temps are a bit all over the shop so not quite sure if it's happening or not - this is the first proper cycle after my mc so maybe it's not all running like clockwork yet... Anyhoo, I have a nice 2ww ahead - all of it in the sun in Spain Grin bring it on! Will have to watch the rioja intake though Wink And then a BFP when I get home will round things off nicely!

I'm sorry I can't make any contribution to the just-off-the-pill discussions, I've never been on it so have never had to go through the withdrawl time - it sounds very confusing for you all Sad

vanfurgston · 16/09/2011 15:02

Best of luck Cavemum
Hope the clomid brings you good news

re the pill i didnt get any bleeding until 7 mnths later so it really varies and is different for everyone

Prunella79 · 16/09/2011 18:17

7 months! blimey vanfurgston, that's rough, how did you cope? i think i'm off for a Wine.

i assume it's impossible to conceive until AF returns to some extent???

vanfurgston · 18/09/2011 10:43

Prunella79
it was quite stressful (poor me :( ) and i was constantly pestering my gp but he was good at reassuring me that it varies with the individual. he did refer me after 6 mnths wait to the fertility clinic as it was obvious everything was not A-Okay.

CaveMum · 19/09/2011 17:14

Afternoon all, just a quick post before I leave work for the day - back to the land of no broadband Angry

The appointment went well, just really a good old chat about where things are.

I've been given my tablets and have been advised not to start taking them until I know for sure my body is not cycling on its own. I have tablets to induce a bleed, but I can't take them until I've had 2 weeks worth of protected sex, and then I start on the Clomid.

I was pretty worried that I'd been told I only get 6 months on the Clomid, but it transpires that it is 6 cycles where ovulation happens, so if I only get an ovulation every other month I will be on them for a year.

Thankfully it is not too high maintainance a schedule - I don't think I could keep hiding ultrasounds and the like from work - I only need to get a Day 21 blood test taken and our local hospital opens for blood work at 8am so I can call in before work!

Hope everyone is well [waves to any lurkers - are you still out there Flick?!] and apologies for the me, me, me post!

[sprinkles Clomid-laced baby dust over the thread Wink]

Good luck with Clomid cavemum, i really hope it works for you.
I get my full blood test results on wednesday, spoke to doctor before i went on holiday, doctor said i have too much male hormone in me, does anyone know anything about it?? she just told me, highest 'normal' range is 1.7 and mine is 2.5, she thinks i might have pcos but she said that until she gets the full results in she cant say either way. Can i still concieve when i have too much male hormones? im know nothing about all this so if anyone could help me, give me advice etc that would be great. Thanks

CaveMum · 19/09/2011 19:56

Thanks 1sttime.

It sounds to me like PCOS, like me! Basically speaking too much male hormone interferes with the production of female hormones and in turn can impact on your ability to conceive. It is not impossible to conceive in these situations, but it does make it harder. Have a good chat with your Dr to make sure that all the other blood results point in the same direction. If they suspect PCOS an ultrasound will be ordered so that they can confirm it.

Fingers crossed for you.

OP posts:
1sttimetryer · 19/09/2011 20:36

Thank you cave, apparently now the doctors are no longer allowed to give you an ultrasound they have to diagnose it just through blood tests. something like you can have cysts on your ovaries without having pcos? hopefully she will explain everything on wednesday, this 2 weeks have dragged soo much!!
Its strange because when we started ttc i just knew it would take me forever and quite a few people said to me that because i want it so badly i will struggle and now its all coming true :(

Lucylucy57 · 20/09/2011 10:01

Oh 1swttime, I really feel for you! It must be such a confusing and upsetting time for you at the moment. Its awful when it feels like time has just stopped. A doctor told me once that stress, whilst having many negative effects on you as a whole, dosnt impact one bit on being able to conceive and its all a myth. Im hoping he is right!
Good news cave about the drugs and that things are moving in the right direction - best of luck!
My recent adventures with the fertility monitor have been interesting. After having 12 days of the minimal fertility status, it suddenly shot up from that to peak fertility from one day to the next. I nearly choked!! This has resulted in a rarther busy few days of SWI. My status has gone down a bit this morning but Im going to persist for another couple of days just to cover all bases. Fingers, if not legs, crossed!

vanfurgston · 20/09/2011 10:26

1sttimetryer hope it gets sorted out for you. IMO the wait till the diagnosis is the worst, once you have a diagnosis then you can work towards some sort of a plan.
my testosterone is also quite high but i do have pcos, all the symptoms, so the bloods were jst for a confirmation.
lucylucy57 lol ur post made me smile have fun with it :)

i m scheduled for an HSG but they cudnt find me an appointment this cycle and i dnt knw when or if i am gna have the next one so i m getting worried abt that

CaveMum · 20/09/2011 11:56

vanfurgston don't worry too much about the timing of the HSG. When I had mine done they just said that I had to abstain or only have protected sex for the two weeks leading up to the procedure and to take a pregnancy test a day or two beforehand.
They do this because, if you were pregnant the HSG will flush the embryo out.

They gave me tablets to induce a bleed a few weeks before my HSG so ask for these from your GP. Off the top of my head they are called Northisterone (sp?)
