Good luck Tibby, the wait must be seeming like an eternity, hope that BFP eventually turns up for you :)

Question from me guys.... I'm getting a little worried about my temperatures after reading a few things. I've only just come of the pill, am on day 27 of first cycle - still no ov signs or temperature shifts as yet :(

My worry is though that my temperatures, after starting of a bit erratic, have been quite low since about day 12. (from 96.5 - 97.5). I've read that anything below 97.5 can indicate low thyroid function.

Just wondered what other peoples pre-ov temperatures were like? Do you think it could be something to do with just coming off the pill?

Readynow · 07/09/2011 08:08

Sorry Timtam can't help on the temp questions. I do temp myself but use a celceius (sp?) thermometer. Think it is really difficult to tell things from exact temps though as so many factors can have an effect on it. As long as I see a rise for at least 3 days to show I have ov'd I don't really pay much attention to the actual temp itself!

bradderswantsababy · 07/09/2011 08:42

Tibby the wait must be killing you but as long as there is a line there is hope :)

I have been trying to be strong and not test until Saturday but i caved this morning and again BFN but still no AF Confused

I have however discovered a hard lump on my cervix just next to the opening. its about the size of a small pea. To say I am worried is an understatement as a family member passed away earlier this year for cervical cancer. I know I am probably over reacting but have booked myself in the docs to get it checked out. God why is life so stressful!!

Tibbycat · 07/09/2011 09:44

Hi bradders, go straight to the quacks for reassurance. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about but it will put your mind at ease.xx

Lucylucy57 · 07/09/2011 10:01

Timtam when I first stopped taking the pill, my first cycle lasted 45 days. It really does take a good few months for things to straighten out into what resembles a more regular pattern. You may well have a long first cycle too so I wouldnt be too concerned just yet. The first cycle can often be a bit of a right off in terms of getting a sense of whats right for you.

On the whole, my temps are lower that the 'average' right throughout the month, even after ovulation. I have concieved in the past so I know that it is possible for me. I also use celsius temps and mine are between 36.10 and 36.30 before ov.

Bradders always better to get these things checked out for peace of mind. Try not to worry too much.

Pipbin · 07/09/2011 18:23

Timtam I found that I had two perfect 28 day cycles when I came off the pill, however in retrospect I know realise that they were still really just withdrawal bleeds. My next cycle was 45 days and this one should be shaping up to be about 35 days. This latest cycle was the first one where I had a positive OPK.

Timtam78 · 07/09/2011 19:10

Bradders fingers crossed the lump isn't anything sinister. Keep us posted.

Thanks guys for helping me with my question, I just just read something somewhere about low temps being a thyroid problem but perhaps I should stop worrying and doing google diagnosis!

Its funny because since asking that question last night I had huuuuuge pains today that I haven't felt since before the pill. I thought I might be just getting a withdrawal bleed bang on time as if i was on the pill but checked and have lots of unmistakable EWCM. I thought i spotted it earlier in the month but after today i realised it definitely wasn't then. So perhaps I'm about to ovulate after all. Who knows! Guess I should be patient and just wait and see! LOL

Hi bradders and all! Bradders, did you get an appointment?

I was at FP clinic last night and they were so super helpful. She did a preg test and unbelievably as the pee past over, a line appeared....and they a minute later disappeared! She did a second and negative. It's never happened in all her years of nursing so she called the on duty doc who said they want to see me ASAP for a scan to see what's going on, hopefully today. I'm waiting for a call today.

They're concerned about me having two positives (the picture I showed her she said was a positive) but lots of negatives, no bleeding still and cramps.

At least definitively this will resolve the situation!

Will keep you all updated!

How's everyone else this week?

Happy bonking Grin!

bradderswantsababy · 08/09/2011 09:03

morning all hope the SWI has been super fun and successful :)

Tibby well at least things are moving for you and you can put your mind to rest that your not losing the plot! Hopefully you will get a scan and it shows that you are pg let us know how you get on x

Booked into the docs for tomorrow after work so hoping all will be ok. I did the cardinal sin of googling what it might be needless to say I wish I hadnt. As my DH pointed out it might be something thats always been there and only noticed since ive been 'ferking around up there' (his words not mine!)

I'm sure it will be something none nasty but best to get things checked out. Either way I will be having some Wine on Friday night.

Got my amazon delivery of CBD and did the test to see not pregnant to see it words is better than looking for a line that you thnk you can see if you sqwint and hold it up to the light.

Have come to the conclusion that I am waiting for my cycle to return to normal after being on the pill and deffo not PG. I was working it out that I would have the perfect 28 day cycle which would have meant the arrival of AF 3rd Sept. I guess I just need to be patient and wait for a proper AF.

Will keep you all post about my appointment tomorrow :)

CaveMum · 08/09/2011 11:40

Hello all! Just checking back in to say I'm still here! We still have no broadband at home so I'm sneeking in at work as I'm the only one here today. Haven't had a chance to read through the thread yet so I hope you are all well.

No real news on my front: I think I may be showing signs of imminant ovulation but I don't want to get my hopes up until I know for sure. I'm not using OV tests (that way madness lies IMHO!) but I am temping. No sign of a bump in temps yet but there is definite CM action going on. Just hoping (if it is OV) that it holds off for another 24-48 hours as I won't see DH till tomorrow night!

Well, a very sad day today for me. Doctor said it's a chemical pregnancy or kind words for an early miscarriage. Due to a chromosome deformity, basically a duff egg or sperm, it's not implanted. My second mc since April.

Felt Sad, even more upsetting that a young woman aged 20 ish was there laughing away about booking in a termination for next week and could they fit her in, who was going to look after the baby she had etc. Very very upset listening to her go on to her friend. There wasn't an ounce of sadness from her. Awful.

So now awaiting AF, she offered me something to bring it on but I thought it better to stay away from the hormones/medications. Here starts the wait for what she said would be a heavy period.

Any better news from anyone else? Xxx

TomboyWife · 08/09/2011 20:08

Tibby I'm so sorry. Sad I don't know if this will make you feel any better, but chemical pregnancies are very, very common. They absolutely don't mean anything is wrong with you or that you won't have better luck next time. In the past people didn't even know they were happening, they just knew AF had come late.

Look after yourself. We're here if you want to talk.

Pipbin · 08/09/2011 20:11

Oh Tibby how awful for you.
{{hugs}}
Do you know if this is due to the same reason as the MC in April?

AFs advance party has turned into nothing. So, bleeding on 10 and 11 DPO and now nothing.
I'm not going to get excited quite yet though.

vanfurgston · 08/09/2011 21:22

tibby thats awful. i feel :(

TomboyWife · 08/09/2011 22:05

Pipbin sounds promising!

bradderswantsababy · 09/09/2011 09:06

oh tibby I am so sorry sending lots of hugs your way xxx

Pipbin · 09/09/2011 12:56

Bollocks. AF got me. Drink for me tonight I think then. Bugger.

bradderswantsababy · 10/09/2011 09:29

Well I went to the docs last night and was pleased to hear my bumpy cervix is nothing to worry about and are cysts that will come and go phew!!

I also asked when there how long is too long to wait for first period after coming off the pill and was surprised to hear that it can take up to 6 months!! God I hope I dont have to wait that long anyone else have any similar stories when coming off the pill??

maamalady · 10/09/2011 10:10

Without wanting to depress you, bradders, I came off the pill in January 2010 and my periods did not return until August 2010. I am still not pregnant. However, some people get pregnant as soon as they stop the pill, so you never know, really!

TomboyWife · 10/09/2011 10:47

Sorry to hear about AF Pipbin. Sad It does sound like you might have had a near miss this month.

Pipbin · 10/09/2011 15:58

Well I thought that Tom I wonder if it may have been a chemical pregnancy had I tested.

vanfurgston · 11/09/2011 22:10

hey guys AF arrived afted being AWOL for a year. and tmrw is my first fertility appointment. dnt knw wat to make of it really

CaveMum · 11/09/2011 22:17

bradders I also dont want to depress you but I came off the Pill in May 2010 and after one "period" (I'm not convinced it was a genuine one) I've drawn a big fat zero until 3 weeks ago.

6 months is also what I was told, but once I hit the Mark things swung into action pretty quickly.

vanfurgston it's sod's law I'm afraid! Glad you've had some kind of result though, just make sure you give your Dr as much info as possible.

No news on my front, I thought I might be getting signs of ovulation bur they've come to nothing so far. Keeping my fingers crossed that my last AF wasn't a one off.

vanfurgston · 11/09/2011 22:26

Cavemum i m feeling very anxious right now. very confused abt wat my body is doing

Pipbin · 11/09/2011 22:42

Any guesses about what might be going on with me?
Had what I hoped was an implantation bleed at 10 and 11 DPO not really enough to bother a panty liner.
Then AF turned up in the early hours of Friday morning as I was going to bed.
What is odd though is that she seems to have cleared off now and it's only Sunday. Normally I have about three full days and a couple of days of it fading, as it were. This time it was not all that heavy and today it's just ended without warning!
