Blimey J4D3 what a year! Stressful jobs are baaaaaad! Kick that thing into touch :)

Readynow · 18/08/2011 13:47

Hi to the newbies! milly I'm the same as you just on CD2 of cycle 7 & I also never realised it would take as long. I'm at the stage where I'm not sure whether I should be getting worried that it hasn't happened yet or just keep hoping that it will happen soon. Most of my friends seem to have got updiffed pretty quickly (although saying that another friend took 18 months to conceive her first & now has 2 DS) Fingers crossed for all of us.

Failsafe · 18/08/2011 14:27

Hi to all the newbies!

Well this month has not been successful so a big Wine for me, Sadbut only on cycle 2 so no panicking yet.

will see how we go in the next couple of months and if theres no BFP then will start charting

J4D3 · 18/08/2011 14:29

millyv - I totally agree with you, after reading MN for a few months I knew I wasn't on my own. It's a good comfort. Tests are banned from our house, the husband is fed up of me ranting about every BFN!

The last few months have been pretty crazy. We found out we had to move due to DH getting a new job and managed to sell our house and buy a new one within three weeks! My head is still spinning. No completion date yet though... we're expecting it in the next week or so. I'm living out of boxes as you can imagine!

Lucy - I've got a very well practised congrats face too. It's somewhere between cheshire cat and raging bull!

J4D3 · 18/08/2011 14:33

Failsafe Enjoy that Wine while you can my dear!

I was reccomended Fertility Friend , it's actually surprisingly accurate considering my cycles are all over the place. I have the app for my Ipod, which makes it hillarious when I'm sat in the docs and she asks "when was your last AF" and I whip out the Ipod! I've not got into temp taking yet, just because I don't have a set getting up time atm and no doubt it would stress me out.

Sending good luck vibes your way!

desperateoldie67 · 18/08/2011 14:48

Yup. No need to start panicking yet Failsafe. I can only begin to imagine your Dr's face when you whip out your iPod and can tell them when your last period was! Until I started charting, I had no idea when it was going to turn up cos I used to lose track (over 28 days?! Useless!) and then suddenly go "oh bugger...!" At least I have more of an idea of what my body's getting up to these days :o

Lucylucy57 · 18/08/2011 14:48

I know this sounds really old fashioned but I bought a book called Taking Charge of your Fertility by Toni Weschler and its been so helpful in understanding just what exactly I was supposed to be looking for. Although it looks a bit 'textbooky' it is actually very well written and easy to understand and guides you through things to look out for as well as what your temperature changes actually mean. Its helped me realise that Im pretty sure I ovulate much later than the standard approx day 15. Just need to start getting at it on the right day now! Cant reccommend it enough if you are considering beginning to chart failsafe and it all seems like some kind of code with no key.

desperateoldie67 · 18/08/2011 14:48

I suspect I just look like this: Envy when I hear that someone else is pregnant, or I end up with their baby in my arms. I have to make sure I give them back in a timely manner LOL!

Huia · 18/08/2011 14:57

Hi everyone

This is my first post on Mumsnet. Smile

First month of TTC. UCL 25, CD 24. ATM opportunities for getting me up the duff are somewhat limited because DH is currently living overseas and we are only in the same country every two months. We are together this month and have been making the most of it. Grin

Fingers crossed for all you ladies!

J4D3 · 18/08/2011 15:16

Wow Huia they must be a very busy two months!

millyv · 18/08/2011 15:19

Welcome Huia :) Make the most of the time you have with your DH when he's in the country he'll be leaving shattered from all of your bedroom workouts!

failsafe a large Wine sounds really appealing today - enjoy it!

lucylucy57 sounds interesting, will search for it on amazon!

I suddenly have the feeling that its nots to be this month, I was very optomistic tuesday and yesterday but not so sure this afternoon, not long to wait to find out!

Hope everyone is having a good day! :)

Readynow · 18/08/2011 16:03

I find charting really helps as it helps me feel a little in control & not constantly worrying that I haven't OV'd or dtd at the right time. When you sign up to Fertility Friend it e-mails a number of lessons in charting to you, which tell you what to look out for, why your temps go up etc... It has also saved me loads of money on pregnancy tests as I know that AF is imminent at the end of a cycle as my temp drops a few days before. Before charting I would just wonder & take a test just in case :o

desperateoldie67 · 18/08/2011 16:14

I have to say also that charting has been a revelation to me - who knew my body did all that in a 28 day period?! Woah... :o

millyv · 18/08/2011 16:18

Maybe I'll give this charting a go if I'm unsuccessfuk this month, do you just download fertility friend via itunes?

Readynow · 18/08/2011 16:24

I just signed up through the website www.fertilityfriend.com I don't have an iphone but maybe it is available as an app?

desperateoldie67 · 18/08/2011 16:24

Hiya milly. Just go to www.fertilityfriend.com/. I have an account I don't pay for, because I'm skint. But a lot of people have the full VIP package.

millyv · 18/08/2011 16:32

Thanks! Am going to give it a whirl seeing as though this months cycle just ended when I went to the loo :( oh well there is always next month! Who will join me in a nice large glass of Wine this evening!??! xx

desperateoldie67 · 18/08/2011 16:37

I'd love to milly, but I'm not sure I dare just now. And if I AM preggers, then the bean had a bit of a sloshy weekend and was helping me drink pear cider last weekend, so probably oughtn't to risk it again LOL! Although this weekend I'm staying with a friend of mine who is an inveterate red-wine head so I shall be gently refusing her this weekend too whilst trying not to explain why! Hmm

desperateoldie67 · 18/08/2011 16:38

PS: Sorry about the arrival of the Old Hag. Still, it means you can get started with the charting now. Have you got a BBT thermometer? They're really cheap - I got mine from Amazon for less than £10 and it's just fine :)

millyv · 18/08/2011 16:40

Thanks oldie I guess it means my weekend away won't have to be a dry one - I've just got the app for my phone and will get a thermometer to attemp this charting!

millyv · 18/08/2011 16:42

have a good evening everyone - I'm off to the gym now! x

flyfox · 18/08/2011 17:15

www.mumsnet.com/info/acronyms

flyfox · 18/08/2011 20:12

CaveMum · 18/08/2011 21:59
