Thank you ladies, it's sinking in and explains a lot of the symptoms I've had. Quite a relief to know my body hadn't just gone haywire on me! I'd NOT recommend CB digital ad it said BFN when I was a few days late. Would recommend Internet cheapies and tescos own brand as they've all been positive on 8-9 days late. Smile

Empusa · 14/08/2011 11:42

Hello ladies, not sure if any of you remember me.

Been TTC for 2 years, found out that I have polycystic ovaries, and that I often don't ovulate.

After 2 years of TTC DH and I decided to give it a rest, it was getting too much emotionally. So I went back onto the pill.

On Tuesday I started being sick, and have been sick every day since. We ended up going to the hospital yesterday, where the doctor advised us to try a pregnancy test.

So this morning.. I got a BFP!

I'm in absolute shock! With the PCO and the pill, this should be impossible! How mad is that?

Snowy27 · 14/08/2011 12:34

Anyone else think the two week wait is rubbish? I wish I had a light on my tummy that just lit up or something rather than having to wait! Willing something to happen!

Pipbin · 14/08/2011 12:54

Two BFPs! How exciting for you both.

So pleased for you Empusa just goes to show that you should never give up hope.

MammaInTheMaking · 14/08/2011 15:15

Congrats empusa what a wonderful outcome!

Empusa · 14/08/2011 16:33

Snowy Like an oven timer? Or one of those egg things?

pipbin Quite! We had totally given up!

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 14/08/2011 16:34

Whoop whoop! Cave's Lucky Thread continues with 2 BFPs in 2 days! Grin
Congrats Mamma and Empusa, very exciting!

All these bfps have made me even more determined to get myself updiffed as soon as I can. Thanks Tomboy for keeping my feet on the ground, even if my head is still somewhere up in the clouds Smile - you're right to tell me to be cautious & not get my hopes up so soon after the mc, but I have a friend who never got her af after her mc as she she got a baby instead, and of course I'm sitting here thinking "if it can happen to her, why not me...?" DH is on SWI Duty every 2 - 3 days until I get that bfp again! (he's not complaining, obviously Wink) I'm getting why it's called the WTF Cycle though, I used to know exactly where I was in the cycle & what was going on - now I haven't a clue!

Cloclo, really feel for you and for your poor DH Sad. I hope the next part of your journey goes smoothly & you start on a run of better luck from this point.

Cookie, hope you get your bfp before those 4 months are up!

Cave, hope your move is going / went well Smile

Snowy27 · 14/08/2011 17:48

Empusa That egg would be amazing! I want one installing right away!

Imps7 · 15/08/2011 07:04

Oooh eek Empusa - I remember you! What an amazing story! Congratulations and thank you for sharing it. Wishing you all the very best for a happy and healthy pregnancy.

Cloclo, bless you, what a tough time you and OH must be having. Hope your appointment goes well on Wednesday. September is no time at all - fingers crossed for a successful first cycle. When you have your BFP all this heartache will seem like a dim and distant memory.

Congratulations Mamma! Great news!

Late keep on at it girlfriend! Your BFP is just around the corner!

Lucylucy57 · 15/08/2011 11:07

Empusa - fantastic news! What a postive story to read first thing on a monday morning.
Congratulations Mamma too - brilliant!

Gives us all a bit of renewed energy to hear of your success.

Sn0wGoose · 15/08/2011 11:35

Snowy - that sounds like something my husband would say. He keeps throwing around comments like "if we're serious about having a baby" and I keep thinking ffs, we'd better bloody be serious because we've not been using contraception for 6 months!!!! ha ha

Lucylucy57 · 15/08/2011 11:38

Ha ha, I know what you mean completely! When I got pregnant last time my boyfriend was totally shocked even though Id been off the pill for months with his full knowledge and consent and we'd talked about it loads!! Honestly, men dont put 2 and 2 together sometimes!

Sn0wGoose · 15/08/2011 11:46

I know!! And he keeps referring to it as "thinking about having a baby"!!

It also winds me up because every month when AF comes, he just puts it down to not shagging enough >(

Snowy27 · 15/08/2011 13:52

Maybe he just thinks he's suddenly become a lot more attractive! It's a complete coincidence :-)

Imps7 · 15/08/2011 15:22

p.s. any thoughts regarding the new thread title? Effortlessly stylish maternity wear and baking must feature somewhere, surely?!

Imps7 · 15/08/2011 15:23

Oops, my last message is on the wrong thread!!

Failsafe · 15/08/2011 15:52

Congratulations mamma and empusa

ChocolateWindmill · 15/08/2011 17:54

Hi Ladies! Thought I'd introduce myself, am still trying to find my way around here so am shying in the corner for now nursing my Wine

This is my second month of TTC so I really am very much a newbie! AF is due on Friday and have been doing a lot of SWI this month what with it being our wedding anniversary and everything so fingers and toes crossed! Although absolutely no symptoms so am not enthusiastic. Last month I genuinely thought it was going to be a BFP - I could have wee'd for Britain and my boobs almost doubled in size (DH was oh so happy!) and AF was 2 days late, getting my hopes up Angry. But hey, if they were all red herrings, might be good news for this month!

CaveMum · 16/08/2011 07:17

Morning all! Just managing to pop in very briefly and give you all a wave and say huge congrats on our latest BFPs! Perhaps I should go away more often Wink

Anyway, the move went well and we're settling in to our lovely new home. It's going to be a perfect family house so we need to get cracking on filling it up! Hopefully I'll get my appointment through for my Clomid in the next week or so, but I've been so busy with the move that I've not had a chance to go and get my bloods done or chase up the clinic.

Anyway, must dash as I have an exam this morning - business studies, bleugh! Honestly I think I'm insane: moving house, full-time job, part-time study, dance lessons AND TTC! Oh well, it keeps me busy I guess!

[waves] to all oldies & newbies Grin

caveMum Good luck with the exam!

Now I'm sure I'm reading too much into this but I've been feeling very nauseous the last two day ... must not get too excited. :)

MrsGrumpWantsABump · 16/08/2011 16:56

Hope there's room for another newbie? I've been lurking on this thread for a while, but I'm finally marking my place. :)

MrsGrumpWantsABump TTC#1, UCL 29ish, CD3

DH has recently had a VR and we're waiting to get a SA done, but it's a long wait (or at least it feels like it). In the meantime there's a lot of SWI to be done, the intention being to clear the pipes so to speak, but you never know, we might get lucky! Wink

1sttimetryer · 16/08/2011 17:06

Hi Cave, glad the move went well, ahh a lovely family home, now your sure to get upduffed to fill it up :)
Hope you get your clomid soon and it does the trick :)
Hope your exam went well today.

Congrats to the bfp's just what we like to hear :)

Well after 71days of waiting AF has just started to show, she sure is a bitch!!!
I really hope the next cycle isnt as long, 28 days would suit me lovely ha ha!! (you hear that stupid body?!) :)

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 16/08/2011 21:30

Hi everyone! You all seem like a lovely friendly bunch (and I recognise one or two of you from another thread!) Do you mind if I join?

I'm currently at 9 DPO (cd 19) and my ucl is 25-27 (although last cycle it was 29 just to get me overexcited for no real reason!!

Readynow · 17/08/2011 07:31

I haven't posted on here for a couple of weeks as have been trying to distract myself with non TTC things during the 2ww! Damm AF has just got me! :(
Onto cycle 7 for me. But I live in hope? Had cramping all through the 2ww - which I haven't had before so was really hoping this may be a sign but sadly not. Think I may go & see the GP or is it too soon?

desperateoldie67 · 17/08/2011 08:53

Hiya, back to lurk again. AF due on 22nd, but had cramping since 9DPO, which is extremely unusual for me, had a big dip in my temp on 8DPO and was feeling nauseous, but now the nausea seems to have abated and I think I'm probably not...good lord I hate the 2WW - it's driving me nutso!

I think it depends on how old you are Ready. If you're an old fart like me, they recommend seeing your GP after 6 months of trying to conceive with no luck. I'm more than six months now, but I've not been charting or really paying a lot of attention, just not using any form of contraception, so I figure I need to give it another 5 months of charting and if nothing happens by then, I'll go pester my GP. Only problem is, I'm 44 next month...time's-a-tickin'!
