Well hello Late I like what you've done with this corner Yes I will be testing soon but I'm holding off until Monday morning, we're off to the in laws on saturday night so don't want to be testing there on sunday morning so if AF doesn't arrive over the weekend then Monday will be the test date!

Ovulating already, now that would be amazing if you updiff in the same week!! Surely this is possible! Rooting for you and hope you have fun camping tomorrow x

JosieSmith1 · 06/08/2011 11:36

Welcome back Late, fingers crossed you're not here long (in the nicest possible way Grin) (I typed bake instead of back there, freudian slip Grin)

Hi to all the newbies

I just got a card from all my work friends, made me a bit Sad I'm really going to miss everyone. I'm tentative about this move but I keep telling myself it's a fresh start and only temporary until I get my cake business up and running but you never know, I might just love it. It's in the centre of town so DH and I have agreed that one night a fortnight he'll take the car, I'll get the bus and after work I can go into town and do some shopping or just potter around. I'm finding I need a lot of 'quiet' time these days.

Off to do a coffee cake now, sorry to those on a diet Grin

Hospital appointment to discuss options on Friday. At the moment I'm giving serious thought to drawing a line under this whole TTC affair.

We only started trying because it was a now or never option and I'm thinking perhaps it would be easier for me if I choose the never option rather than feel it was something chosen for me and get on with a child free life. I feel permanently on hold at the moment for something that might never happen.

Pipbin · 06/08/2011 15:41

Afternoon ladies, mind if I join you?

I'm ttc number 1 but I've only been at it for one and a half cycles. (Started TTC, job situation took a turn for the worse so stopped, started again middle of last cycle)

AF is here at the mo and she's giving me a tough time so Weight Watchers can get bent, I'm cracking out the Ben and Jerry's.

DimDimmy · 06/08/2011 21:08

Hi Pipbin! Smile

Karstan it must be really hard to feel like your life's on hold and I'm sure some of the ladies here can identify with that. Good luck with your appointment - I hope it can help you make such a heart wrenching decision.

I'm trying to decide whether to POAS. No sign of AF but that really means nothing with me. Keep avoiding it just to keep hope alive!

Timtam78 · 07/08/2011 09:33

Hello!!!! Please can I join?

Been reading over this whole thread last night and this morning and couldn't wait to join in. It's very early days for me. Only took my last pill (Yasmin) this morning. I'm 32, 33 this year and we're just about to start ttc #1. I have no idea what my cycles will be like and feel a bit overwhelmed with everything that might be involved and not really sure where to start at mo (apart from the obvious! ;op). Feeling a little regretful that I didn't stop the pill a while back as Im worried it may take a while.

....but really excited about starting to try!

TomboyWife · 07/08/2011 23:02

Evening ladies,

Sorry not to have been around much in this thread recently. (I have to confess, I'm two-timing you with one of the post-mc threads, and it's hard to keep up to date with both. Blush )

Late, glad to see you back! I got EWCM very soon after I stopped bleeding post-mc, but I don't think I actually ovulated. AF only turned up today, 8 weeks post-mc, and if I had ov'ed and had a proper luteal phase I would've had either a BFP or an AF two weeks after. Basically, without wanting to get all negative, be aware that things aren't always what they seem immediately post-mc. That's why they call it the WTF cycle.

On a more upbeat note, welcome to all the new joiners!

I too am off on holiday, leaving tomorrow, so I may disappear again for a little while. Be good everyone!

CaveMum · 08/08/2011 07:30

Good morning ladies! Welcome to all the newbies and big hugs to all the regulars!

Karstan so sorry that things are not moving on for you. I hope your appt gives you the answers you need.

On a personal note I shall shortly be going "off radar". Our broadband is being disconnected on Thursday for our move and we've not arranged a service for our new house yet.
I'll still be about for a few days though!

Happy Monday all!

Very confused now! Confused I have been charting my temp for 6 cycles now (including this one) & in the previous 5 I have had a clear thermal shift around CD 14-15, following a few days of EWCM & a positive OPK. This month I have had ECWM days 11 - 15, a positive OPK on CD 13 & I SWI on CD 12 & 14! (not much I know but my DH did a lot of OT this month). Anyway I am on CD19 today, have not had EWCM since CD15 so by this I guess I have already ovulated but with no thermal shift I am not sure (?) Could I have had an annovulatory cycle even though I got EWCM & positive OPK?

DimDimmy · 08/08/2011 19:17

BFN Sad

But I think I messed it up (bad aim Blush) the control line didn't appear till well after ten minutes and the negative came immediately. So might try again. If you squint, press the screen down and tilt your head you could sort of see a + lol!

Timtam78 · 09/08/2011 21:32

ooh this all sounds very complicated, sorry I can't help you Readynow, I'm not experienced in all of this yet. Starting to research everything all ready for starting to counting my first cycle. Did you find out any more about it?

Sorry for the BFN this time DimDimmy. :( Good luck for next time!

crystaltea36 · 10/08/2011 10:27

Hi everyone, I'm new to this too! I came off the pill 3 months ago but have had quite irregular periods since, 35days, 26 days and now 32days?! I don't know how I'm supposed to know when I ovulate with weird cycles like that, is hard to use the calender! How long did it take other people to get back to normal after coming off it? I'm worrying that I'm not ov at all. This is all a bit baffling I agree Timtam78!! :-)

Timtam78 · 10/08/2011 11:44

Hi Crystaltea36! So far I've gathered that checking for EWCM would give you the best idea! I've signed up to fertilityfriend.com to start charting. Good luck! :)

Lucylucy57 · 10/08/2011 12:36

Hello everyone! Mind if I join in? I had a recent ectopic and surgery but remaining positive and so about to start trying again. Im determined to remain chilled and calm (if possible!) I just started charting last weekend so beginning to get to grips with it all following what feeling like extensive reading around the subject.
Good luck to everyone here!

Snowy27 · 10/08/2011 21:49

Hi all
can I sneak on here? I'm not sure I'm 'allowed' as officially we're not 'trying' just 'not not trying' (which in my mind = trying pretty blinking hard!)

Snowy27 · 10/08/2011 21:51

crystaltea36 Just wanted to say I came of my pill about 4 months ago too- and my cycles have been slowly getting longer 28, 29, 31 and last one was 32 days- a tad confusing but maybe it's getting back to 'your' cycle rather than the one imposed by the pill?

CaveMum · 10/08/2011 22:46

Evening all & welcome to the newbies! I'm just stopping by to make sure I've marked my place before I go AWOL for a bit! Our broadband is being disconnected tomorrow and it'll be the end of next week before we're back online.

Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone and hoping for lots of BFPs by the time I get back Grin

Lucylucy57 · 11/08/2011 13:50

crystaltea36 - I came off the pill in January and since then Ive had cycles of 43, 31, 35, and 30 days. I did get pregnant in May too (sadly didnt last) so dont worry. It does take a while to get things settled back down to normal. If you are anything like me who had been on the pill since being a teenager, it had been so long since my cycle had been regulated by nature rarther than a pill, I had no idea what was normal for me! Remember everyone is different. My cycles are now usually 31 days. It does help to chart things (especially if you have a brain like a sieve and cant remember last week like me). Once you have done it for a few months you can start to compare them and see a pattern developing which is natural for you.

Lucylucy57 · 11/08/2011 14:01

Just realised I didnt add my stats (brian like a sieve comment quickly justified!)
(30) TTC#1 Cycle 1 (again) UCL 31 CD5
I think Ive got that right, if I have understood the abbreviations!

Timtam78 · 11/08/2011 19:17

Lucylucy57 sorry about the mc in May. :( Good luck trying again.

I've just officially started counting down today after coming off the pill so my stats are:

Timtam78 (32) TTC#1 Cycle 1 UCL - N/A CD1

Hope I got it right too!

Cloclo15 · 12/08/2011 10:50

Hello everyone, not been around on mumsnet for quite a long while but thought I would pop in and update you all.

After two results for DH coming back with very low count and motility, ICSI is definitely our only option. We are going for the Pre-treatment appt with the nurses on Wednesday, then I hope we might start our first cycle of treatment in September some time. We are just waiting on some blood results for DH to come back from Birmingham, and he needs to go and get some of his little swimmers frozen as backup.

The whole experience has gone from total shock, to disbelief, and I think I may be heading towards acceptance with a little grief thrown in as a sideorder. However, seeing as we only started trying last December, we have got to this stage really quickly (sometimes it helps when you won't take no for an answer from the GP!). I don't think I could have gone through a whole year of disappointment without knowing the reason.

I mainly just feel awful for my DH - he has type 1 diabetes and now this, two life changing conditions for one man. When you love someone, it is so hard when there is nothing you can do to make it better - neither of his conditions has a 'cure', you just have to treat the symptoms. I think he has taken it well, but with men it is sometimes hard to say.

We have just had such rotten luck lately with my dad being so ill with pancreatitis as well, I just hope our luck is about to turn.

Fingers crossed for all those getting pregnant the natural way! :)

cookiemoo · 12/08/2011 22:17

Wow! Lots of newbies which can only increase our chances of a run of bfp's!! Fingers crossed!
I had follow up appointment with consultant this week and they've given me another 3 mths of clomid but also said they'll see me in 4 months assuming this doesn't work and they'll refer me on then for more specialist help ie ivf...I'm not feelin too positive this mth as ov'd earlier than usual so missed a couple of prime bd days! Fab!
Hope we have some good news soon, I'll be lurking to check!!!
Xx
