Josie, that sounds great - well done you for giving it a go. Cave's idea of selling on a stall sounds like a good route. And maybe local shops or garden centres might be interested in selling some for you too? Our local garden centre sells homemade cakes by somone local - I used to buy them when mine had gone wrong and it was my turn to make one for work! hehe

Does anyone have any tips for stopping being obsessed with the am I, aren't I? I'm 99% sure its a no, since I have no idea about AF or if I've ovulated even, but I can't help the but maybe-ing? Like all day every day!

Readynow · 03/08/2011 13:38

Sorry I don't have any tips for stopping obsessing during the 2ww DimDimmy but would definately be up for hearing some. Keep yourself busy is the only one I've been told but it is easier said than done! Got my smiley face on the OPK yesterday but am finding trying to time SWI to a certain 3 days is more stressful than I thought & the just SWI every couple of days isn't working either due to my DH working hours. Aaarghhh!! We have only managed SWI once so far (two nights ago) so am starting to despair it will ever happen. :(

Failsafe · 03/08/2011 16:14

Hi,

I've been a bit a of sporadic poster, mainly lurker across the boards for a few months, but now feel brave enough to start posting and intergrating in the forums.

Im failsafe (25) and TTC our 1st. Grin
I didn't realise how neurotic I could be in the 1st month of trying!

Anytime · 03/08/2011 23:13

Hi failsafe, it was my first month last month and I became completely neurotic so you are in the right place!

Failsafe · 04/08/2011 09:21

Thanks Anytime, thats reassuring im not the only one!

Ive only been off the pill since last month and I think we missed this month so expecting AF to turn up tomorrow...but i have really sore nipples which I never get so who knows?! (symptom spotting already)

JosieSmith1 · 04/08/2011 10:00

Welcome Failsafe Smile

DimDimmy I'm afraid I don't have any tips either, I used to be totally obsessive but now that 12 months have passed and I've got so much other stress in my life at the moment I just don't think about it much at the moment.

Thanks for everyone's support in my cake business, I had thought about selling cakes at a stall - my bro wants to hire a stall at Tynemouth (which is basically a huge car boot sale which gets really busy and usually has a few cake stalls) so I've said I'll go half and sell some cakes there. I know there's other stalls but I can try and make them look extra tasty and advertise my business at the same time.

I got a phone call from work yesterday and they will offer me a move to another office BUT it's the one of four offices in Newcastle that I said I wouldn't work at, tbh I have an inkling they've done it deliberately but that's neither here nor there. There's no other places available so it's go there or go back to my current office. So this morning I am off to investigate the drive and parking etc. The senior there can be a bit partronising but there's a new team manager who has apparently had words with the senior and her attitude has changed loads recently and my informant (Grin) reckons the dynamics of that office are much better now. And it's in the centre of town so I can shop!! Grin My gut instinct is to go for the move. Fresh start and you never know, I might love it!

desperateoldie67 · 04/08/2011 10:25

Josie that sounds like constructive dismissal. Are you in a union? Can you get some legal advice? CAB can be quite useful in these circumstances if you feel like a fight and don't like what you're being offered.

Blimey...Tynemouth is too far for me to come for cake - perhaps mail order is the way to go LOL!! :o

JosieSmith1 · 04/08/2011 17:46

Oooo yes desperate I could look into mail order aswell Grin I could get legal advice but tbh I'm just so desperate to get out of that office I've taken the move. I've been hearing good things about that office now so you never know, I might end up loving it! And, that's the office that had the pg chair Grin I don't think they've still got it but fingers crossed they do Grin Even if I still look for something else (or start my business, which I still fully intend to do) it can't be as bad as the office I'm at now, and hopefully my mental health will recover, which will in turn help my confidence starting a business Grin

CaveMum · 04/08/2011 18:33

Josie mail order cakes could be the way to go! Have a look online at The English Cheesecake Company and perhaps steal some ideas take inspiration!

OP posts:
desperateoldie67 · 04/08/2011 22:58

I don't blame you not wanting to fight it Josie. Sometimes it really is better all round not to - especially if your mental health is suffering. I found stress at work was a major factor in mine. Now I'm in a less stress, albeit less well-paid job, and I'm much happier. Decluttering my life was the best thing I did! :)

Mmmmmm mail order cakes - where do I sign? :o

desperateoldie67 · 04/08/2011 22:59

Was wondering where you'd been Cave...hope you're doing ok? :)

I should be in bed as I get up at silly o'clock for work, but I have that delinquent "tomorrow's Friday" feeling! I'm not going to like it when the alarm goes off in the morning though :o

CaveMum · 04/08/2011 23:11

Hi desperate! I know that Friday feeling well!

I'm ok ta, still packing up the house ready for our move next week. I'm also waiting on my Dr to sign the forms for me to get my blood test for Rubella immunity before they will let me start Clomid Hmm.

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 05/08/2011 07:48

Oooo, we went to a wedding this year where the cake was from the English Cheesecake Company - Champagne & rose flavour with white chocolate shavings... it was absolutely amazing!

Ok, so this is where I'm at and it's going to sound a bit strange.... I had my ERPC on Tuesday, and I think I detected an LH surge on my opk on Wednesday - no kidding! I did a pg test when I found out my pregnancy had failed, nearly 2 weeks ago, and it was negative, so I think as far as hormone levels are concerned, I haven't actually been pg in over 2 weeks now, so there is a chance I may actually be ov? Confused Add to that a dip in temp this morning (I've only actually done temp readings from Wed) - so I pounced on DH last night and told him to impregnate me again right this instant! Grin I have this very strong desire to replace the pip asap, and the post-ERPC bleeding was practically non-existent. I figure that if my body is ready for it then it will all come together, and if it's too early then this one will pass, I'll get my AF eventually and we continue from there... you do hear so many stories from women who've conceived without having an AF following a mc, it's hard not to build your hoped up Smile.

Tomboy, where are you up to in your WTF cycle?

Cave, yet more hoops for you to jump through before they give you your clomid?! I don't know how you do it, honestly!

We're off to Devon camping tomorrow with friends (I know, a stupid thing to do in summer, but there you go) so I'm going to indulge in lots of wine, soft cheese and pate in the expectation of being imminently re-updiffed! Grin

Imps7 · 05/08/2011 09:10

Late hellooooo! So pleased to see you back and determined to get diffed! Tempting fate with the wine, cheese and pate is sure to work - your BFP is imminent!!

Cave good luck with the packing - it is by far the worst bit about moving house for me - I really can't stand it. Dealing with the lawyers and estate agents is a piece of cake in comparison!

Speaking of cake, your new business venture sounds awesome Josie - there is never going to be a lack of demand for cake and yours sounds gorgeous! I've got a positive feeling about the office move too - a fresh start can work wonders.

I'm on CD5 - another 13 days-ish until the egg pops. This month WILL be my month!! And if not this month, definitely next month... :)

Imps7 · 05/08/2011 09:12

Oooh how rude of me - hello to everyone I haven't already met on this thread!! Wishing you all BFPs very very soon.

Failsafe · 05/08/2011 09:51

Ohh Josie, your cakes sound scrummy!

A fresh start could be what you need...less stress and gerenally being happier can work wonders.

Solars · 05/08/2011 10:03

Hello, I'm quite new to this site (been lurking for the past week) and would really love to join you lovely ladies if that's ok. I'm a bit of an oldie at 38 but we're trying for out first. Stats are TTC month no 16 :(, currently on CD30, UCL 31/32.

Looking forward to getting to know you all xx

desperateoldie67 · 05/08/2011 10:54

Hi Solars and welcome. I've only been bothering these poor folk for a week or so, but already I'm acting like I own the place (Blush)

I've got very nearly 6 years on you honey, so you're not old :) Keep shagging for England, you'll hopefully get there sooner rather than later. I'm certainly not giving up hope. Mr Desperate isn't exactly thrilled by the whole idea, but given my age, I ain't hanging about. 'Snot my fault he's only (whispers) 30 :o

Failsafe · 05/08/2011 13:10

Hi Solars Im a newbie here as this week as well.

The ladies are a friendly bunch here Smile

jenfraggle · 05/08/2011 14:18

Hi all.

Hubby and I have started TTC this week so I've come to join you all. Hope to see lots of BFPs on here soon for everyone

Solars · 05/08/2011 15:14

Thanks for the welcome ladies.

desperate you lucky girl with the toyboy! Hubby and I are doing our best for England !! and yes sooner rather than later would be preferable.

Josie just had to mention what a great idea with the cake baking business, sounds like a fab move from your current position.

Hope everyone is having a great friday!

desperateoldie67 · 05/08/2011 15:47

Hahahaha...yeah, he's pretty awesome (and cute) Grin

Having a great Friday, although I'm bored shitless here at work. My Friday was, however, made even better by the fact that I just decided to leave at 4.30pm. I'm off to see Mr Desperate after work so I thought I'd leave earlier in order to catch the earlier bus - it's a long bus journey. I'm so rubbish, I really need to learn to drive, but as I'm from London originally, I never needed to, and now that I do, well I just feel a bit old and can't be arsed!

It only takes about 25 minutes in the car from door to door and about an hour and a half on the bus - but it's very scenic going through all the pretty villages :)

I need to step away from this thread because all the talk of cake is making me hungry at the minute and as I'm dieting, that is VERY BAD! :o

Solars · 05/08/2011 15:58

ooooo you're never too late to learn to drive! I was a late starter in this department too, passed when I was 31, as I too lived in London and moved away. Have to say after years of public transport it's so liberating when you can jump in your car and go anywhere...
I've just realised this lateness seems to be the theme running through my life, late to learn to drive, late to marry, late to start TTC hopefully the moral is it'll happen in the end - fingers crossed

desperateoldie67 · 05/08/2011 16:10

Well I still haven't got around to the marriage bit - another thing Mr Desperate is scared of. I don't know if it's his age or if he's just been out with rubbish women prior to me. Well I guess he must have because none of them have lasted more than about a month - useless batting averages there!

I would like to be able to drive, but I can't afford to buy or run a car at the moment and when I had lessons in London I was quite nervous. And Mr D is such a good driver that there's no way I want him to take me out for driving practice. That and the fact that he drives a whacking great sexy truck - not the ideal vehicle to practice in! :o

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 05/08/2011 18:45

Hello Solars, pull up your zimmer over here in the geriatrics corner Grin There are actually plenty of us here 35+ (I'm 38 this month) who will be getting the delicious label 'Elderly Primip' on our maternity notes Grin
You'll be testing soon as well by the looks of things, here's hoping your stay here is less than a week, that might just be some kind of record Smile

Hey Imps - while it's good to come back here & know people, I am sorry you're not updiffed yet Sad. We need to knock this on the head and stand for no more of this bfn nonsense ok? This month WILL be your month! Wink

I'm not giving my uterus any slack, just because of its recent trauma, as you can see I am already fully 'back in the room'! Grin I swear I've got EWCM, along with the recent opk sticks saying I'm surging, and this morning's dip in temp, I really do think I'm ovulating. How amazing would it be if I manage to get updiffed the SAME WEEK as my erpc?! I don't know if that's even physically possible! Grin

Right, need to pour myself a Friday glass of Wine (coz I CAN) and pack for camping tomorrow
