Lots of hugs Late. I can't imagine what you must be going through at the moment. We'll be keeping your seat warm. Ta for the banana cake, although given that I'm trying to lose weight whilst TTC I should probably step away from that.

Take good care of yourself. There's nothing quite like a good wailing session, I always find it helps, although dealing with all that snot afterwards isn't much fun.

Imps7 · 27/07/2011 12:25

Goodness Late I am sending all my strength your way. Take time to look after yourself and OH and take each day as it comes. I was gutted to hear your news and am willing on the day when you have better news to tell us.

Thanks for the cake and do pop in when you can.

FloydieDoydie · 27/07/2011 12:30

So sorry for your loss Late, hope to see you back soon.

Cave I'm not sure when I ovulated - or if I have at all. I was trying to be all relaxed "oh just see what happens" at the beginning of this first cycle off the pill, not checking cm or doing opk. Yeah, that didn't last...!

So I'm assuming based on a "normal womans" cycle, which would put me at one day late for AF, and between 14-18 dpo.

Completely daft to compare myself to textbook cycles, as a) its my first real cycle off the pill in 16 years, b) my periods were irregular back then, c) I was told at 16 I had polycystic ovaries and, d) bugger all else about me is "normal"! Grin

I need to chillllll out really, but I'd rather now that either I get a BFP or AF just arrives so I can get on with next cycle (and using opk sticks to help pinpoint when/if).

Cuppa anyone? Smile

MammaInTheMaking · 27/07/2011 15:26

Hi floydiedoydie am wishing you some good fortune, all it takes is that little swimmer to hit the wondrous jackpot!!!! Keep us posted!!!! Grin

Karstan · 27/07/2011 20:49

Hi everyone.

Sorry for your loss Late

My test results came back with some anomalies so my current consultant is going to refer me to a colleague who is apparently specializes in that side of things more. I hope he is just a lovely as the current doctor.

So I'm back to waiting again, on top of that having problems with my back so I'm on anti-inflammatories for 3 weeks and having a hugely stressful time trying to buy a house so it really doesn't seem like now is the right time for me.

JosieSmith1 · 27/07/2011 23:04

So so sorry to hear that Late

Karstan sorry to having troubles too. I also hope your doctor is as nice as your current one.

I'm off work for another 2 weeks but the doc reckons it'll be my last sicknote and I'll have to go back. Suppose I can't be off forever. I've registered with agencies so I'm praying I get something else soon. I'm also considering starting my own cake business from home. I love baking and can get completely lost in decorating them so I'm hoping to try that too. If it takes off I can quit Grin

Had a meeting with my team manager (who showed up with the woman I don't get on with Angry and basically it was a load of rubbish. I have to go for mediation with the pg lady who complained about me, and I have to draw up a written agreement with the woman I hate to agree how I'm going to be line managed. She actually said it was a bone of contention that I don't always open the blinds first thing in the morning Shock but I do!!! It turns out that by regularly, she means twice Hmm so I was pretty sarcastic about that one. Although she knows pretty much exactly how I feel about her now so going back will probably be extremely difficult

Imps7 · 28/07/2011 07:02

Josie - blinds - WTF???! Those women sound like a nightmare! Fingers crossed for the job search - although am loving the idea of the cake making business - you should go for it!

desperateoldie67 · 28/07/2011 10:04

Bloody hell Josie!!! I'm with Imps7 - those women sound awful. Do a cake making business for pregnant women with cake cravings! :o

JosieSmith1 · 28/07/2011 20:00

I have just spent £40 on cake tins, ribbon, icing cutters and decorations. I am about to attempt my first ever three tier cake! I did a choccy one yesterday and decorated it with icing stars and choccy stars and I have given it to a few people and all have given me good feedback.

Now I have to go as DH can't manage to unwrap some clingfilm Hmm

MammaInTheMaking · 29/07/2011 13:02

Could we all sample your cake please Josie sounds delish!!!!!

Karstan · 31/07/2011 10:24

So now I'm officially late by one day, for only the second time in my life. Cycles have been 28 days or shorter bar once for the last 17 years!!!

Didn't get the all clear from the doctor so not done any TTCing, wondering if it's the Naproxen or the stress of house buying, although much to my disappointment no other stressful situations have delayed the ERTD in my pre-TTCing days.

The one thing I've reassured myself with throughout this whole TTCing ordeal is at least my cycles are regular as clockwork and that's got to count for something right? So I hope this is just a temporary blip.

JosieSmith1 · 31/07/2011 10:25

Well if I do says so myself mammainthemaking the chocolate fudge gateau I made yesterday was gorgeous! I took it to the yard bbq and it disappeared literally within seconds. I must find a way of putting picies up. Today I'm going to attempt a two-tier chocolate and vanilla cake. I've been researching the legal requirements of starting a business and although there's lots of insurance needed and food hygiene certificates, it's realtively cheap to start

MammaInTheMaking · 31/07/2011 16:10

Go for it Josie! it will be really great to start making some money out of something you love doing and are clearly good at! A few months ago I started a home made baby bib shop on FB. Took off pretty well and now DP is going to help me set it up as a proper company! Def recommend you taking the plunge!!

CaveMum · 31/07/2011 20:03

Oh Josie all this talk of your cakes is making me drool!
I'd say go for it with setting up a business. Knowing how much money people charge for wedding cakes you could make good money on that front! It's coming up to wedding fair season so perhaps you could see about setting up a stall at one local to you.

Still no period for me, v. strange. Wondering whether I should test, 99% of my brain is saying logically is not possible to be pregnant (no unprotected sex and not much protected sex either :( ) but there's 1% of my brain that thinks maybe i ought to rule it out for sure.

CaveMum · 02/08/2011 08:21

It's very quiet around here! Where are you all?!

Karstan sorry that you are still in limbo. What cycle day on you on now? It might be worth testing if you're 35+ days, just to rule it out if nothing else.

We're getting geared up for our move now. We move on 12 August so are frantically packing eveything we own - who knew how much junk we had?!

Karstan · 02/08/2011 08:28

Ertd arrived with a vengeance last night so that's that answered. Was only cd 31 so not hugely late but just I'm always 28 days or less.

But in good news we exchanged contracts yesterday so new house here we come Grin

Readynow · 02/08/2011 10:54

Hi everyone! Just in the SWI phase at the moment! Grin Got my smiley face on the OPK this morning then on to the crazy symptom spotting 2ww - although I will try really hard to not read into everything!! Anyone else about to start 2ww?

FloydieDoydie · 02/08/2011 13:38

AF arrived yesterday at cd34. To be honest I was glad to see the old bat as I was getting freaked out by BFNs and no sign of her. At least now I have a rough idea of when to expect it to be due (or missed due to upduffedness Grin). It also means that our SWI was possibly miss-timed this month, so just need far far more next month Wink

DimDimmy · 02/08/2011 14:12

Hi everyone, can I join the party? We've started TTC and I'm getting overwhelmed by how much I don't know! I never realised making a baby was this complicated!

I'm 28, TTC#1 and don't have a clue when AF will arrive - could be anytime between now and Christmas. Been on the pill for years but prior to that periods were extremely irregular so a no-show means nothing. Last two weeks I've been peeing all the time and feeling nauseaus but I think its just my mind playing tricks on me. Don't want to test as I'm sure it wont be postive (the dates don't quite work out) and I like to keep the little bit of hope!

desperateoldie67 · 02/08/2011 15:08

Sorry CaveMum...was awol over the weekend - quality time with fella. Wedding this weekend (someone else's, sadly) so awol again - I'm rubbish, aren't I?

More SWI sounds fun Floydie and now you should hopefully have more of an idea as to when to REALLY go for it.

I'm not sure my dp would notice any difference as I generally jump him as soon as I see him on a Friday night anyway :o

Nothing exciting to report, except that charting my temperature is just giving me a weird, spiky graph LOL! Trust me to be awkward. Still, I'll see how that goes over the next few months, and then if it's looking completely bizarre, at least I have something to take to the GP and go "ooh, would ya look at that?!"

Hope all is well. Welcome DimDimmy :)

JosieSmith1 · 02/08/2011 23:10

Hi to the newbies (waves)

Sorry to all those who have ERTD (sad)

I'm going to ring environmental health tomorrow as they have to come out and certify the kitchen, then I need a food hygiene certificate which you can get off the internet, and public liability insurance before I can start making profits. In the general scheme of starting a business there's not a lot to it. My two tier cake came out fantastic! It was such a shame to cut it. My friend has asked me to do a cake for her sister's joint 30th birthday party, and my cousin has a friend who's little girl is 1 this month so she's gonna ask her if she wants a cake too, hopefully my first commissions!

My choccy gateau went down so well at the yard bbq too that everyone has been telling their friends about it! It's about time I took a risk

CaveMum · 03/08/2011 07:27

Josie well done you! Sounds like you are a very talented cook!
Are you planning on just making cakes to order? Have you thought about selling smaller/simple cakes on a Market stall?
It all sounds very exciting!

Hello ladies
I had an EPRC yesterday so I can hopefully start to draw the line under the last 3 months (should have been having my 12-week scan tomorrow Sad). I am getting back into the swing of things & took my temp for the first time in ages this morning! I was testing negative on pg tests from last week, so I'm also dusting off the opk sticks just in case I'm nearer to laying an egg than I think - I don't want to miss it! Smile DH is back on his vitamins and as soon as the bleeding stops it's back to the SWI Grin (going camping on Saturday!)

Going to post this now & then catch up with what I've been missing - caught a glimpse of some serious cake action going on...! Smile

desperateoldie67 · 03/08/2011 08:42

Rock on Josie. Risk-taking can be extremely beneficial sometimes. I took voluntary redundancy from the very well paid job I'd been in since forever and left London last March, moved to a city I didn't know with next to no money. I've since been long-term temping at a nice place, have friends up here and have met the (toyboy) love of my life too. I'd never really taken any proper risks at all, and although I've been pretty skint, I don't regret a second of it. So I definitely think a risk is a good idea, especially if you feel stuck and miserable in your life. And let's face it, the people you work with seem hideous! Go for it girl :)

And if you're making chocolate gateau again...give us a shout Wink
