Hello ladies, very new to all this so please be gentle with me. Came off mini pill 17th June, but was not the best at taking it knowing we wanted to ttc very soon. Already convinced have been having 'symptoms' - impossible I know. So I don't have a cycle yet.

My details PollyRoxs (37) ttc#1, cycle1, rest unknown so far -sorry.

Fingers crossed xxx

MeconiumHappens · 04/07/2011 23:35

1st its usually within 24hrs i believe. Best best is lots of swi on day of positive and two nights after to be sure.

welcome pollyrox to the mad house

ChantingAsISpeak · 05/07/2011 06:14

Back to day 1 yesterday - not unexpected, DH's swimmers couldn't make it all the way across the country!

Jezzabell · 05/07/2011 09:20

Hello all, just thought I'd keep you updated. Did a test last night and got a BFP!! No messing around with is there/isn't there a line, it was a very dark, very definate blue cross almost immediately! Although I knew something was up from about 10 days dpo when i started getting af like cramps (but not af like iykwim!) and very tender bbs. Did another one this morn as bought 2 and just wanted to make sure and same again!

We're very happy, but also a little surprised as this was the first month we started TTC and only did the deed twice! It's great to know it all works. So, no matter what happens at least I know I can get pregnant and we are both fertile! Although everything is going to be fine! Even more exciting is that i'm only 5 weeks behind my little sis, although she's in Australia, but we can be pg buddies!

Good luck to everyone else still trying xx

TigerseyeMum · 05/07/2011 09:33

Oh wow Jezzabell! Really?! Congrats! Grin

Jezzabell · 05/07/2011 09:47

Grin Grin Grin Tiger

Exciting!

likelucklove · 05/07/2011 14:01

Hey! Jumping on here. Been ttc for 4 months now but no luck yet :( DP and me are looking forward to it but none of my family/friends know as I may have some problems the doctor said. So no point in getting my MiL down my neck haha!

However, I am due on today and usually it is first thing in the morning. And still... nothing! I'm having all the symptoms like breast tenderness, nausea, etc. But also having hot flushes? Has anyone else experienced this if they have JC? And have had cramping but has gone away today, and they usually stay all the way through my period. Is cramping common in early pregnancy also?

Thanks!

JosieSmith1 · 05/07/2011 21:46

Welcome newbies (waves)

Huge congrats Jezzabell!!!

To everyone who is excited about positive ov tests, I was the same first (and only) time I did one, text DH just saying 'smiley face, smiley face!!! :-)' Got another pack this month cos my last cycle was a bit funny so not sure when I'll ov, looking forward to that smiley face again. Have been to docs, gotta have a day 21 test this cycle, then on next cycle a day 3-4 test, then we'll look at the results and take it from there. On the plus side, when we get referred to fertility specialist we get to go to the Centre for Life, which is pretty cool if you like that sort of thing, so I suppose that's something to look forward to!

likelucklove I think you can get cramping in early pg, fingers crossed for you.

CaveMum · 05/07/2011 21:48

Congratulations Jezzabell!!! And welcome to our recent newbies Grin

Revving myself up for Monday now - I've not been sleeping well for the last few nights, as it is all playing on my mind. It doesn't help that I've got a horrendously busy week in work either.

MeconiumHappens · 05/07/2011 23:04

congrats jezabell :)

Centre of Life sounds awesome Josie. If you do have to go, which hopefully just thinking about will tempt a baby into your tummy, make a point of taking a photo of yourselves outside it, you can tell your baby thats where they came from, diverting from the birds and the bees chat haha

likelucklove · 05/07/2011 23:31

Did a test earlier.... BFP! Can't believe it, really shocked. Can't stop crying and inappropriately laughing! Any ideas on how to tell my parents? They may be a bit disappointed as I'm 22 and just nearly finished university.

Hope everyone is as lucky as me and Jezzabell

cookiemoo · 06/07/2011 06:25

Josie didn't realise you were a Geordie lass!! Me too although I moved away some years ago. Where abouts you from? X

Congrats on the bfp's let's hope they're catching!! :0) xx

Imps7 · 06/07/2011 06:33

Oooh congrats for the BFPs ladies! Great news!

CD 6 here - in the boring pre-ov stage. Think OH may be away over OV again this month which is annoying but there you go.

Right, off to Google Centre of Life - not heard of it before!

1sttimetryer · 06/07/2011 06:39

Congratulations to jezzabell and likelucklove for the BFP, amazing news.

At least you can see the positives in things josie!! Centre for Life sounds great :)

Lets hope the BFP's keep coming :)

CaveMum · 06/07/2011 07:59

Congrats likelucklove!
Don't worry about telling your parents just yet. Enjoy having the news just between you and DP for now - you've got months before they need to know and some people like to wait a few weeks to be sure all is well.

KikiRC · 06/07/2011 08:19

Wow, lots of good news. Congratulations to you!

Does anyone have AF coming imminently? I should be due the next couple of days based on calculations, though because it's my first cycle off the pill I can't be at all sure. I think I'll test on Sunday if it's not come.

If anyone else came off the pill, how long did it take you to have your first proper period after your withdrawal bleed? I know it can take months for some people. I've got a feeling I'm going to be in that frustrating limbo with no AF & a BFN...

Only pre-AF pains/ symptoms are slightly sore nipples & mild tummy cramps (which I've had most of the month) and all the other PG-like symptoms I had seem to have faded away... Hmmmm....
X

St4rfish · 06/07/2011 15:36

Bloody hell, its been busy on here! Congratulations to all the super-fertiles.

On CD16 so in the middle of prime time; trying to keep the swimmer-levels topped up but so tired! How the hell do people manage the energy to shag daily?!

I'm a Northern lass too Josie and Cookiemoo (although not originally) - I have a friend who has been having IVF at the Centre for Life - she has rated it highly in terms of care and attention to detail (despite not getting lucky yet) - she's back there next week for a final hurrah before (gulp!) considering adoption. Scary stuff.

flixy102 · 06/07/2011 18:02

Hello Ladies!!

Mega first timer here so be gentle!!! I'm 28 and me and DH have been married 6 weeks - started TTC about 2 weeks ago after I finished my last pack of pills (microgynon) so I've no cycle as yet.

Started TTC early as I think I'll prob have problems conceiving due to high prolactin levels (have been seeing an endorinologist for a few years now but they have only been monitoring me as I haven't been TTC.) Have always had really irregular periods so I'm a bit worried that I won't even be able to keep track and it'll all be a tad hit or miss (so to speak!!)

Also have a family history (mum, granny, cousin) of fertility/pregnancy problems so I reckon the odds are well and truely stacked against me!!
But for the moment I'm being positive and hoping for a little 'how the hell did that happen??!!!' moment!

Love reading all about the BFPs - gives me hope!!!

PollyRoxs · 06/07/2011 20:10

Hi Kiki
I am in similar place, but came mini pill recently and dont have cycle yet. I have been having symptoms, such as feeling dizzy, sickly, really swollen belly, weight gain... I could go on. I even did a test - bfn though, so i did a bit more research. Apparently it is quite common to have pregnancy symptoms when you first come off the pill.

Good luck for this time, I am expecting af anytime soon

TomboyWife · 06/07/2011 20:59

Congrats jezzabell and likelucklove! Grin

And welcome to the latest wave of new joiners!

Well, I had the most fun day ever. Dentist! Hooray, I love being drilled and then having half a face for the rest of the afternoon! What fun! Confused It wasn't all that bad really, but I can still think of more fun things to do.

Cloclo15 · 06/07/2011 21:02

Hi all, and congrats to all those with BFPs :)

I'm on CD19 now but for me I think it's only 2dpo (I got positive opk on the afternoon of CD15 so think I prob ov'd CD17 in the morning. Managed to BD on CD14 and CD15 - I hope that is enough, DH was so tired we didn't manage on CD16 which would have been ideal.

Just one more week till our appt to find out results of bloods and SA - feels like ages away and also a bit irritating that I may be getting my hopes up again when results show there is a problem. It's just irritating to know they have them all ready at the hospital and our original appt was today. Oh well, a week should go by pretty quickly.

Good luck to Cavemum - hope your op goes well, fingers crossed for you

CaveMum · 06/07/2011 21:10

Thanks Cloclo

I've just peaked on the Grads thread and see that HighHeels' waters broke yesterday morning. There hasn't been a post from her for a whole so fingers crossed we have a snuffly newborn to add to our list!

OP posts:
Imps7 · 07/07/2011 07:27

Oooh, hope to hear news of HighHeels' baby soon. Think she must have got her BFP just before I joined this thread as I don't think I "know" her (if you see what I mean) - I think SlowShow was the first person to get her BFP while I was on here - can't be too long before she's due. What's the grad's thread called? May go and have a peek too - see what I've got to look forward too!

Hope you're not feeling too nervous about Monday Cave - do you know what time your op is, or will you be hanging around all day waiting for them to call you down?

Jezzabell · 07/07/2011 10:10

Thanks for the congrats from everyone and big congrats to likelucklove too, exciting isn't it. Saw the doc today and have booked in for my booking appointment with the midwife on 3rd August. Still can't quite believe it's happening! Might have to have a look at the Pregnancy forum.

Thanks for the support I received in my short time on here and lashings of baby dust to everyone still trying, good luck all xxxx

VikingLady · 07/07/2011 12:41

Can I join? New to Mumsnet today... Trying for a year for #1, aged 31, think I may be 6 weeks pregnant but tests still coming up inconclusive. No period though, and I am usually regular as clockwork. Keeping fingers crossed...
