Hi Ladies
I have been around in a lurking capacity, but havn't had anything interesting to say and don't like to bore the TTc ladies, after all this is a conception forum!
yellow even though I knew about your story and have been "with you" through it, seeing it written down and reading it just made me go all goosebumpy :) Hope your parents made up for the in-laws lack of initial enthusiasm, I bet you just caught them un-awares and they will catch on soon enough.
Hi marathon I know exactly what you mean about the early scan not being a re-assurance, I felt exactly the same and held on until the 12 week scan. I didn't look at the screen either until she started talking about "it" I too felt mine wasn't real too, but it was fine........fingers crossed your MC days are behind you too.
Sending positve 2ww vibes to you emma have yu thought of accupuncture too?
Sending hugs to you harrased hope you are feeling a bit better now.
Hope you are having a nice shaggalicious holiday wellie Wink
Waves to Sparkly star wombat and cuttlefish sorry if I missed anyone.

wombatinwaiting · 01/08/2011 05:52

I felt exactly the same worm when I read yellow's post and I'm still goosebumpy typing now - it really is one of those stories that makes you go wow! and to keep up hope in the face of adversity.

Soooo.... loads of news to catch up on - sorry not to have been around for a while - work has been busy and still lots of tidying up etc. to do around the new villa which I'm definitely liking more now (thank goodness!) but may I first of all give a big yaaaaaaaay! for good nuchal results for yellow and worm - it's a big relief I know. Dying to know what your parents said yellow - do let us know and I hope it was more enthused than DP's parents.... do you think it's something to do with telling them over the phone and being French (I assume they are - nothing against the French, but perhaps a national trait is not being excited about exciting news Smile Hmm

With you on the scan fear marathon - would you maybe want to leave it til around 10 weeks? You've done fantastically getting past 6 weeks - your chances drop from 10% to 5% post 6 weeks and get better still as you reach the 12 week mark. I know stats don't always make you feel better, but hope these may help in some way - sending hugs.

Good to hear you got a Smile emma - I found them very reliable. I'm curious to know, like yellow, if you got the smiley faces pre-clomid. Good luck with it all - we're all gunning for you.

Wondering how you're getting on mrsb - do drop by if you get a chance.

PITA with your irregular cycles wellie - has that always been the case? I wondered if moving down under and all the hassles that go with that have upset the balance a bit. Were you regular before mc and WTF? If so, might be worth seeing someone to get a bit of reassurance if nothing else. Do you use OPKs?

Sorry you were feeling a bit blue harassed - fully understandable - sending hugs and hope you're feeling ok-ish now. Thanks for the info on spd - very interesting. I will keep an eye out for those symptoms. I'm going to my first pilates class this thursday - it's not a special pg one, but I'm sure they'll let me know if there's something I'm not supposed to be doing.

How are cuttlefish and purple getting on? Hope all is well with you both and you're getting as many symptoms as you would like Smile

How are things with Monty sparkly? Hope all good.

All seems to be ticking along nicely here (fingers crossed, touch wood etc.) - Junior has been kicking up a storm lately and DH felt him move yesterday and we could even see my belly bouncing up and down last night! No visible body parts or anything but definitely a trampoline look about it (but not as taut - more wobble than anything!)

Wormshuffler · 01/08/2011 06:57

Good to hear from you wombat and great news on the kicks, My DH is excited about when he can feel it. My DS has started cuddling my tummy and saying night night to bump, so sweet!
If you have a minute ladies could you have a look at here at my decorating dilema thread and give me your 2-penneth.
Hope you are all well

Sparklywine · 01/08/2011 08:35

Worm, the F&B is lovely, very classy. The butler will feel the bees knees answering the door surrounded by such a lovely hue. Anyway, don't paint the floorboards! I am in the process of painting our landing white, so a tad hypocritical, but it's a 30's semi and the boards are in a state, plus it's a small surface area and not an imposing entrance to the East Wing Grin; however, in a previous house I painted a dining room floor in white and always regreted it, it never turns out like the pics in Living Etc. So my twopennuff would be to re-sand, and if you've gone off the pine effect (which looks warm rather than orange) then try liming, for a more whitewashed, scandanavian effect - bit more work but you can always get in a man that does Grin
Was off work last week on hols, hence no posting as bimbling about doing family things and a spot of gardening. Bliss, and am determined not to let work stress me out now. Monty seems fine, still not feeling much movement, just the odd flip, and getting indigestion a lot now which apprently means he's hairy - eek! Will post more later in the week once the normal life routine resumes.
Anyone for croissants with salty butter and apricot jam? x

harassedandherbug · 01/08/2011 10:17

Oh fgs!!! Posting at work, phone rang so MN logged me out and ate my long post!!!

To summarise:

Sparkly Mmmm yummy!! Your hols sound lovely, my favourite kind! We're not going away, and I'm taking days here and there to be with dd. Hope work is ok, remember, it's just a job!

Yellow How did your parents take the news?? Sorry about inlaws reaction, did you catch them on the hop and they didn't know what to say?

Emma good luck lovely!

Wellie enjoy your hols Wink.

Worm good to hear all is going along well. Don't paint the floor boards! They never look as nice as in the mags/your head, and are a pain to maintain and keep clean. I re-sand and lime or stain.

marathon I was clinging onto those stats wombat mentions! In between trying to ignore the ms and exhaustion....

Wombat glad you're settling in well, but don't work too hard!!!

Not much to report here! Wriggles aplenty so the doppler habit is subsiding again. My friend with the baby came round yesterday so I had lots of cuddles. He's gorgeous, but a bruiser! Had a bit of a sob on dh's permanently soggy shoulder last night. It's hard to get it straight in my head tbh as they were all so close together. I want, but know it's physically impossible, all 3 bubs iykwim!!!

Oh and it's scan day tomorrow! Hope bug plays the game so we can find out what flavour SHE (my guess based on the fact dh has two dd's already) is.

Sparklywine · 01/08/2011 15:49

Aw, at work (and actually working!) but wanted to say good luck for tomorrow Harassed!

wombatinwaiting · 02/08/2011 07:12

Is that your 20 week scan then harassed? Good luck! Can't believe it's come around so quick....Good that you've got lots of wriggles. Wombatjunior hardly seems to rest these days - hope that doesn't continue when he's born! Will be looking out later to see what flavour you've got - don't keep us in suspense too long!

Still interested to hear what reaction yellow got from her parentals - hope all went well.

Glad you enjoyed your hols sparkly and that Monty is doing well. Has the team blue news sunk in properly?

Anyone heard from star of late? Hope you're ok wherever you are - what's the latest with your dates / scans etc?

Would love to give you some decorating advice worm but I am the worst procrastinator ever when it comes to interior design and tend to end up quite unadventurous although we have recently chosen 2 tangerine orange chairs to go into our new villa! Shock

CuttlefishDramas · 02/08/2011 10:40

I'm ok Wombat, but I had a massive bleed on Saturday, thought it was all over and ended up in A&E. Two scans later and the heartbeat is there and still going strong today! So pleased you're getting lots of kicks, won't be long till there's limbs everywhere!

Yellow good news about your nuchal results. Do you find the acupuncture relaxing? I've been thinking of trying it.

Harassed are you still dopplering? Is that even a word! My due date for my miscarriage was the same as my sisters. She doesn't know, but I do feel very weird about it all. Hope you find out at the scan today!! Have you been counting magpies?

Marathon I'm 7 weeks too. Just felling a little sick every few days, and sometimes my boobs are sore (but that could be because I'm poking them all the time!!) I still plan to have a private scan in a couple of weeks to check everything is going ok before the 12 week scan. Now that I've had a bleed, I'm not so reassured by the heartbeat...

wellieboots · 02/08/2011 13:40

Hi ladies!

Very quick one on way to bed after fabulous relaxing holiday - can't believe it's all over and there's work in the morning! :)

CD33 here and no sign of AF or of any symptoms :( - but given that some of my cycles post mc have been longer i am at least waiting until the weekend to test.

Going to book the docs for next friday as I have a day off - I have been so irregular since the mc compared to before (I was pretty much a textbook 28 day girl, then went on implanon and after that the 5 cycles I had before pg were 29 or 30 - since then I have been all over teh place!) Confused

hope you are ok cuttlefish, sounds like you had a scary weekend, have a very unMN hug.

harassed hope the scan goes well and that you are doing OK

Yay for liking the house more wombat and for lots of movement

hi emma we missed you!

Waves to everyone else!

harassedandherbug · 02/08/2011 14:31

It's a boy!! Everything all ok Grin.

Just off to tell mil as she's been in hospital for almost 5 weeks, but be back later.

Wormshuffler · 02/08/2011 21:43

Ah congrats harrased, what does DD think to the news?

All crossed AF does a disappearing act for 9 months wellie

Scary for you with the bleed cuttlefish I really hope it was just bean getting bedded in nice and deep.

Thanks for all the decorating advise ladies, I still havn't fully decided, but all the advise on the other thread says not to paint but to sand and either wax or varnish again, apparently the orangy look is just because it is old varnish.

Today is the first day I havn't had a nagging headache all day for 3 weeks Grin I still awoke with one but it went quickly away.

wombatinwaiting · 03/08/2011 08:35

Sorry to hear about your scare cuttlefish - fingers crossed that is all the drama over for this pg.

Fingers tightly crossed also for wellie - you have admirable patience waiting for the weekend! Great to hear you had such a nice break - somewhere else in Aus?

Hooray for team blue harassed! Great news! What does DH and others think? I think you thought it was a girl?

And great re: the headaches worm - what a PITA that must have been.

Bit of a Sad post from me - our daft but darling dog Suki got hit by a car last night and after a very uncomfortable night - she was screaming in agony every time she tried to turn over - I took her to the vets this morning. She has a compound fracture at the wrist of one of her front legs and it seems she can;t support her back legs and vet thinks it's spinal cord issues and / or broken hip or pelvis. They sedated her and will do x-rays and then call me. It doesn't sound good though - if it was just the fracture they will operate etc. but if the back legs have gone too, we'll have to look at the grim alternative. I've never had a pet before her and surprised by just how much this saddens me.

Sparklywine · 03/08/2011 08:55

Oh, I'm welling up for Suki, poor thing! I hope it's something less serious than her spine Wombat, let us know as soon as you hear back from the vets. Absolutely hate animals in pain
Must have sugary tea now.
Harassed, lovely news, another member of the Coffee Lounge footie team! Though Monty is as likely to be sporty as I am to be sipping a brussel sprout smoothie. DH is fit ain't he (wink nudge), we're in with a fighting chance. So, is it to be Vinnie then? Grin
Wombat, am sending you hugs. I am very emotional at the moment, cried in the garden centre at the weekend because DH wouldn't let me buy a discounted (ergo rejected and doomed to die) apple tree, with one leedle red apple on it, all on it's own

wombatinwaiting · 03/08/2011 09:48

Aw sparkly - thank you and sorry to have set the emotional rollercoaster off again for you (bad DH for not letting you have the apple tree - you would have nursed it back to health for sure).

Just had a call from the vet and things may not be as bad as they seem. The front leg is a fairly standard fracture and can be fixed with a plate. The pelvis is broken on one side and may be what is causing the nerve damage. She seems to be able to bear weight on one side and apparently both legs are still just about the same length. He can?t guarantee that the traumatised nerve will sort itself out but seemed to think it does in 9 cases out of 10?.. we?re going to see the vet and Suki around 6ish tonight and will prob go ahead with the surgery so not as bad as we had first feared. Sorry to have been so doom and gloom earlier but it really wasn't looking good.

Loving the idea of a coffee lounge footie team! If star has a boy too then it could be awesome given her DH is Frank Lampard or similar Grin. Although we still think junior will be blue flavoured, even if she's pink, can she still play? DH and I both quite sporty so will probably end up as those horrendous competitive sports day parents Blush

Sparklywine · 03/08/2011 16:52

Aw, good news Wombat, hopefully she will be home soon
Wombatjnr is welcome to play, we need some pyscho parents on the sidelines! Worm, any chance the lady of the manor would like to fund the strips? Grin

Wormshuffler · 03/08/2011 17:35

Football ? How ghastly it would have to be rugger ! Sending best wishes to your pooch for a good recovery wombat

CuttlefishDramas · 03/08/2011 19:17

Thank you for the hug Wellieboots Glad you had a nice break - Where did you holiday? I was on implanon but I haven't had a period before BFP, but I know I was warned that it could take 6 months for cycles to settle down.

Oh, congratulations Harassed! Really pleased for you :)

Here's hoping that's the last you see of those headaches Worm.

Poor Suki, Wombat, I hope the vets are able to help her. 9 out of 10 cases are good odds, but I will keep my fingers crossed tonight for you.

Hope you are staying relaxed at work still Sparkly? I didn't know indigestion means hairy!?

yellowtomato · 04/08/2011 08:02

Morning ladies

wombat how is your dog doing now? Hopefully recovering well.......
cuttlefish does sound scary, so happy for your that heartbeat was still there.
harassed a blue one! Congrats!

it went better with my parents than with the inlaws although my Mum said she already knew. No idea how but she just thought we seemed closer last time she saw us.........weird......anyway that took away some of our thunder and there were no tears. I was sure that there would be tears all round. They are both v pleased just not very emotional. The we had an update from DP's sister as she's visited his parents since being back and now they finally believe it is true and wanted they are apparently very happy. These things never turn out the way you plan do they. I'm telling my client today so hopefully that will go well......

Ahhh sparkly bless you crying in the garden centre....I'm in for the footie team, I'll get very aggressive assertive with the ref!

wombatinwaiting · 04/08/2011 11:25

Glad it went well with the parentals yellow albeit they stole your thunder a little and great news that DP's parents are very happy. Good luck with the client - did you ever tell us what work said?

So the update on Suki is that she had the op to fix the front leg this morning which went well and she has come round. They'll be keeping her there for the next 48 hours or so to monitor her mobility and keep the pain under control. She really needs 3 legs out of 4 to be working ok and at the moment it's really only 2 until her pelvis heals and / or she gets used to walking with a cast. Poor old thing. We saw her last night a bit doped up and looking sorry for herself but they seem to be taking v good care of her.

Wombatjnr has been v quiet today which is a worry as he has been so active. Can stress affect movement does anyone know? Oh and I managed to reverse into someone this morning - no damage to theirs but big dent in mine - v Angry with myself and nearly started crying....

Waves to all and leaves out spinach and cheese puffs which I am attempting to create for a little party we're having tomorrow night.

harassedandherbug · 04/08/2011 11:34

Morning!

So sorry I haven't managed to get back on, I've just been so busy! So much for days off......I'm in the office for a rest. At least I get to sit down and get tea made for me if they know what's good for them.

On the scan/boy front, dd is decidedly unimpressed! She's 5 so boys are rubbish in her opinion. Dh on the other hand is over the moon. I'm chuffed for him, but didn't mind although I thought it was a girl as dh has another dd from previous relationship. Took ages though as my little bug was in totally the wrong position for any measurements and sitting like a frog with feet obscuring the bits! So they sent for a walk and to get something to eat and drink, and that did the trick. We saw him moving about, sucking his thumb and then arms waving about.

wombat so very sorry to hear about your dog! How is she today??

cuttle that sounds horrendous! Did they find a reason or where it's coming from?
sparkly ahh yes, more time for me to spend on the touchline!! Ds1 did football and ds2 rugby. Thought I'd done with that, ballet/dance lessons are far more civilised. No it's not Vinnie, and neither is it sodding Rio! Dh's first suggestion........ Hmm I'm also a crier at the moment. Not good when dd's constantly got Disney films on Blush.
yellow funny how some people just know isn't it?! I guessed my sil was preg before she told us. Good luck with the client today.
wellie any news?? Fingers still x'd for you.

emmaandthestar · 05/08/2011 19:30

Hi all, thanks for all the positive wishes... well 10 dpo (CD27 of a 31 day cycle) I poas and got a very faint positive (i don't feel I could call it a BFP!).
I went for a blood test on the same day (4 days before AF due) and got HCG level of 13 :( it's pretty low...
The next day I tested with a digi and a regular (the digi said 1-2 weeks and the regular one was slightly darker). please please keep everythig crossed but I am not optimistic.

Yes, I used to get :) with the OPK before clomid but they were always about CD19-20 so my luteal phase was too short.

Now I'm going to catch up on all you guys to cheer me up...

emmaandthestar · 05/08/2011 19:40

Wombat so sad about your dog but glad she is on the slow road to recovery...

Worm don't paint! look here for some tips on staining - these guys are really good www.sandedfloors.co.uk/tips.html
If you are doing it yourself - watch thier video - we had them come in as we are dreadful DIYers :)

wellieboots · 05/08/2011 22:42

Not good news here, caved on cd37 and got a bfn. Think I now need to take a break from mn cos everyone on this thread is now pg, and my body just refuses to cooperate! I made that docs appt for Friday so I'll let you know how that goes....i

Huge hugs to everyone and the best of luck with your pregnancies....

Star82 · 06/08/2011 08:09

Sorry everyone. Still around but been in hospital with the little one. She's fine but her brother caught her eye with a skipping rope which made the iris pool with blood so they needed to keep an eye on her.

Had a brief scroll down.
Sorry to hear about your dog wombat, poor little thing :(. Our eldest dog broke her arm when she was a puppy and has a really bad heart murmour so know how worrying it is.

Fab news emma. Hope all goes well and stsy positive. Hard to really believe it when it happens but it is true Grin.

Really sorry wellie, you held out a long time before testing so must feel really disappointed. Maybe a little break will be good....and maybe the odd lurk Hmm. I had a break which helped but then againi'm pretty rubbish at keeping up to date when i'm on here anyway, Grin. Big hugs and good luck at the docs!

Congratulations on a boy harrassed! How does DD feel? I can't wait to know. 2 weeks to wait until we can haave private scan to find out or another 5 or 6 weeks until NHS scan.

Hi to all. Have a lovely weekend. x

emmaandthestar · 06/08/2011 09:45

Thanks star although I don't feel positive at the moment.

Wellie I know how you feel, I took a break as i was just not in the mood for pregnancy chat... I think I will need higher levels on the bloods before i can even think that I am upduffed. At the moment zero symptoms and generally feeling low...

On that happy note - off to make loads of burgers for the BBQ tomorrow :) I will pop in and share them round here.
