So the last thread disappeared so here's the deal: I realised it's really annoying to drive yourself mad wondering if you're pg during the 2ww. Newbies welcome!

OK, had a total meltdown about an hour ago but I think I'm over it now. I've been feeling very emotional the last 5 days or so which is not like me - normally on the approach to AF I am like Jekyll and Hyde lol! I get irritable and fly off the handle but don't get emotional. Anyway, I digress! Called to rearrange my appointment at the assisted conception unit (I prefer that name to the infertility clinic) and now I don't get to see them until the beginning of September. As I put the phone down, I just broke down and cried for a good 20 minutes (good job DH didn't come home!).
I think I'm OK now although I've just welled up again writing this - GAH!!! Get a grip!!!! Grin

Lisa anything is a possibility but then again you may be reading too much into nothing if you see what I mean? Do you chart? Are your cycles regular but your symptoms have changed?

LisaJayneS · 14/07/2011 14:49

Oh Fishfinger that sucks Sad.

Could you phone them periodically to check for cancellation appointments? I did that when we weren't going to be having or second appointment until the end of August (results were all back end of May) and when they put an extra clinic on the called and asked if we would like an appointment so nothing to lose?

Re the CP thing - you're probably right - it most likely is nothing at all. I do have regular 28 day cycles occasionally +/- 1 day but some months I just feel more pg Hmm and quite often I think this ties in with af being a day or two late. Or maybe the times I am a day or two late I get too carried away and think that I am more pg.

I do chart, using a monitor thing, but am not good at interpreting the chart. To me it looks like it goes up and down a lot. I've nonly been doing it for 3 cycles so not a lot to get a pattern. And as much as I can see when it thinks I've ov'd it all looks a bit double dutch to me. Not sure I can make much sense of it all (and I'm quite scientific!)

i think we need Wine all round on this thread at the moment.

I got all excited this morning when an NHS envelope popped through the door. Thought it might be news about ultrasound/hsg. NO. just another reminder for a smear Hmm I tried to book for it a couple of months ago but the new rules state you can only have it done on certain days in your cycle.

I'm having a grumpy day, emotional too - keep bursting into tears. Having real difficulty at the moment with the situation with my DS (i have 50/50 shared care with his dad). I miss him soooo much and am really struggling to cope with not having the life with him i thought I was going to have.

Sorry. Just needed to say that 'out loud'. Most of the time I'm ok with it but the whole ttc thing is bringing lots of emotion to the fore and I don't really know how to deal with it. I can't change the situation, I just have to get on with my life.

havealittlefaithbaby · 14/07/2011 15:13

Lisa may be worth joining the Charters Anonymous thread, I did that a couple if months ago, helps get an opinion when you can link your chart for others to see. Re the chemical pregnancy thing, its difficult to say tbh other than it doesn't really tell you much. I had one last cycle (one test positive then bfn with a 19 day luteal phase). DH said he could definitely see a line but nothing next day. We didn't get too excited (18 months ttc creates cynicism) but it was still gutting. The sensible thing is to test when af us due/late (easier said and done). I low what you mean.I've felt pregnant some months but I used to.test early and still got.bfns so I'm not sure how much was me willing it to be tbh!
I've had a nice day, DH took me put for lunch then bimbled round shops in Weston. Went to poundstretcher to buy poas tests cheapo for stock. Lady at till was very chatty asking about our holiday. Picked up the tests and said 'ooooOOOOHHhhh' Shock, no shame! We couldn't stop laughing as we left!

LisaJayneS · 14/07/2011 15:33

I agree re the Wine Queen Sorry you're having a rubbish day, I really feel for you.

Faithbaby not sure I can link my chart for others to see - it isn't on FF (which I only found out about last week). I know what you mean about 18 mths breeding cynicism - that's why I haven't been testing too early - can't take the rejection! Oh and lol at the lady in the shop Grin

CONGRATULATIONS KIKI!really pleased for you Smile

fishfingersarnie · 14/07/2011 16:54

Hi Lisa - if your cycles are roughly the same length each month then I don't think it's an issue and it's amazing how once you start charting or consciously TTC how many symptoms suddenly start appearing that you've never noticed before, or they feel stronger than they did the month before etc - the power of the mind is a funny thing. I am noticing symptoms A LOT more than I ever did before I started on this journey and each and every month there is something new or different that gets my hopes up.

From what I understand though, if your cycle length varies at all then it is due to ovulation either coming early or being delayed and that can happen for many reasons - illness and stress can have an effect. I either ovulate on day 18 or 19 but one month when I was ill around OV time, I didn't OV until day 23 so consequently AF was 4 days late. Because I'd seen this all happen on my chart meant I didn't get excited when AF didn't show when it was supposed to.
The length of time between OV and AF always tends to stay the same, give or take a day.

It's worth taking a look at Fertility Friend to get some info on how charting works but it also gave me a great insight into how my cycles pan out.

If there's anything else you want to know then just ask - I've been charting on and off for the last year and if I don't know the answer then someone else round here will! Grin

Hope that helps! Time for a Brew and a Biscuit!

izzybizzybuzzybees · 14/07/2011 18:56

Hey ladies, I'm still here im afraid. Now on 15dpo and no sign of AF or a BFP!!

havealittlefaithbaby · 14/07/2011 21:54

Sorry its bfn but hey it could still happen! What tests are you using?

izzybizzybuzzybees · 14/07/2011 22:01

I did a first response a few days ago and yesterday i did a midstream test from the net, not hopeful in the slightest Sad

havealittlefaithbaby · 14/07/2011 22:42

Hmm they are quite sensitive. Weird you're having an unusually long luteal phase for you then. Why do our bodies cause us do much confusion?! [hangry]. Actually right now mine is only causing me pain!

Morning. I appear to be losing my voice this morning.
Sorry about the bfn izzy
It's my day off today so just deciding what to do.
Have a lovely day everyone.

havealittlefaithbaby · 15/07/2011 18:47

Evening all! I'm much better today, pain easing, finally able to enjoy an alcoholic drink so I'll be letting my hair down tonight :)
ninja sorry to hear about the lack of voice, is it all husky for luring dp/h instead bed or does it hurt and make you feel rough?!
izzy how you feeling?

izzybizzybuzzybees · 15/07/2011 18:52

Feeling pretty down, had another negative test today, the most depressing kind cos it was a digital one so had to look at a horrible not pregnant which wasn't pleasant. Think ill make an appt for gp next week x

Biscuitsandtea · 15/07/2011 19:03

Oh Izzy - lots of hugs going your way. Hope you can get in with GP to sort it out.

(By the way I used to be LisaJayneS but changed my name....)

queenrollo · 15/07/2011 20:16

izzy Sad it's so frustrating isn't it. I've been there at least three times in the last 18 months, and it's so hard not to get your hopes up.

Well I'll probably not be around until next Friday, as we're heading off on hols tomorrow and it'll be hectic last minute packing in the morning before we set off on the long drive.

Look after each other while i'm gone - and when I get back i'll be a couple of days away from expected AF so i'll probably be on here a lot doing the

princessamz · 16/07/2011 15:27
