After more than a decade of fertility problems/miscarriages and then 2 miracle kids, we are embarking on our last ditch attempt for #3. It may be greedy, it may be foolish but we would love to have a bigger family. i don't seem able to get pg without intervention so clomid has been prescribed again.

If it doesn't work then I think we will finally have closure on a very long fertility journey. Even if it DOES work then it will be another miracle if I can hang on to the pg. I have had 7 m/c over the years.

We are very very lucky to have our 2 dcs but fingers crossed the lucky pills have one more dose of baby dust inside.

no Jebel i did not infact clomid seems to have cleared up some mid cycle spotting i was having....but why is that a problem? I have read that some people have a little bleed on clomid at ovulation because the follicle(s) are bigger than one would naturally expect - could it be that?

I am 7dpo today and feeling pretty hope clueless about what minor/mild/made-up selection of symtoms i may be having

Hoping eveyone else is better - i think we need some + news!!!!

PinkCustard · 19/06/2011 13:28

Thanks Capiche I thought it was a good sign at first, but then I read from some people that it had turned into AF and was a sign that they hadn't ovulated Confused I much prefer your explanation. I'm still spotting today but it is just spotting at the moment, nothing heavier, so hopefully is just an indicator that lots of juicy eggs have been released..?!

When will you test? Hopefully you'll be our first +!!

hippychick66 · 19/06/2011 15:01

no clomid hippy baby this month ladies. Sorry it's not better news.Sad

pink i had mid cycle bleeding only once and it was not a clomid cycle. But it happened on the day i ov'd and I just took it as a good sign - it is supposed to mean you're more fertile Grin

Quick question - we are moving in 5 weeks and the next few weeks are gonna be very hectic. I only have 2 months worth of clomid left (my GP was only prepared to give 3 months without a cons). So the question is would you wait a month and then try the clomid for the cycle after just incase we are too buys and stressed to properly try in the next 2 weeks? Or do you tink it's better to take the 3 months worth consecutively??

hippychick66 · 19/06/2011 15:04

that is meant to say - too busy!!!

PinkCustard · 19/06/2011 15:22

Oh sorry to hear that Hippy. I have read that clomid can have an accumulative effect so perhaps better to take it on consecutive months? Although on the other hand I've heard of people getting their BFP the month after stopping the clomid - so who knows Confused Sorry for being no use whatsoever!! Hopefully someone more decisive/helpful will be along shortly Smile

Thanks for midcycle spotting info - hopefully it's a fertile sign for me...

emmaloupolman · 19/06/2011 20:53

hippy they should give u 6 months i have taken 4 have a month at home and will be given another month after that

hippychick66 · 19/06/2011 21:00

emma - it's a long story but we agreed on 3. It was my way of saying to myself that I'd done all I could since the MCs and I agreed with my doc that I would call it a day after 3 months of clomid. (I am very old 44Shock)

I just feel like I might be wasting the precious drugs if I took 'em this cycle but once we move we'll be a bit more relaxed. I have heard of people getting preg the month after clomid so maybe I will kinda get an extra month out of it - IYSWIM.

How close is the wedding now em?

Capiche · 19/06/2011 21:25

hippy our situations are depressingly similar.... hugs!

twolittlemonkeys · 20/06/2011 11:30

Sorry to hear some of you are out for this month. Fingers crossed for the next one. Well I'm on CD15 today, hopefully lots of SWI over the next few days (managed it on CD11, 13, 14...) Haven't been temping or using OV sticks but had lots of EWCM yesterday. After 7 years of fertility problems, I ought to know the answer to this but does EWCM mean you are currently OVing or about to? Things I've read online seem to be slightly contradictory. Not that it matters I suppose, as long as we manage to cram in a few more days of SWI this week Grin

happystressedmum · 20/06/2011 13:34

My doctor didnt say but does anyone know WHEN the best time of day to take clomid. I am on day 3 of taking it and have been taking it in the evening.

twolittlemonkeys · 20/06/2011 13:36

No idea, I've done 8 cycles of Clomid and never been advised on a time of day to take it. I always take it first thing otherwise I'd forget.

hippychick66 · 20/06/2011 17:46

thanks for the hugs capiche - right back at ya Grin

Egg whites mean you are about to ovulate - as far as I know.

I was told to take my clomid just before bed as it can make you feel sick or give you a headache and better to have those things when asleep in bed - IYSWIM. But I don't think that is a hard and fast rule. And it didn't seem to make me feel ill anyway.

Think i have decided not to use clomid this month due to the house move - might just have a normal month and then take my second lot once we have moved. Would hate to not be able to SWI when I have taken the clomid. Grin

twolittlemonkeys · 20/06/2011 21:13

Thanks hippychick I'll make sure we get plenty of SWI in over the next few days then. I know what you mean - my last cycle of Clomid DH 'wasn't in the mood' for my most fertile time - I was livid to have wasted a cycle!

emmaloupolman · 20/06/2011 21:43

Hi hippy thats not old the wedding is this saturday come round so quick :0

Jebel · 21/06/2011 06:39

Back on clomid now for second cycle. Getting hot flushes this time which I didn't get before. DH used to be a nightmare about swi at fertile time. I can't honestly say that we have been TTC for 3 years as it is so rare that we actually managed at the right time. Now I'm on clomid he seems to have got his act together and we are swi at the right times.

Month before last I got a faint positive before getting AF 4 hours later; this month doc thinks I had failed implantation. As DH says, it feels like we are getting there...

PinkCustard · 21/06/2011 09:53

That's hopeful then Jebel, you'll just have to make sure you get DH into the bedroom at the right time. Hope the hot flashes aren't too bad.

I've just about reached my TTC limit I think. I'm still only 5dpo, the next week is going to drag.

I've got one remaining friend who has yet to produce DC2 and she has a suspicious appointment this morning so I'm bracing myself for the inevitable preg announcement - ofcourse she's been TTC for a considerably shorter time than me so by rights it's my turn next!! Angry

Jebel · 21/06/2011 10:14

oh pink it's just not fair. I am about to go for a jolly with uni friends and all are up the duff or have children. I am ok with it as long as the whole conversation does not revolve around children and they of something to talk to me about other than 'how's work'.

there is really no way to get it out of your mind in 2ww, it's horrible but keep positive as you may have a BFP at the end!!

PinkCustard · 21/06/2011 17:51

It's really crap isn't it.

I'm still having tiny amounts of spotting, which at 5dpo I don't think can be a positive sign. I can't face yet another month like this one!!!

Capiche · 21/06/2011 20:27

been here lots of times before but things looking bright in our clomid infused house tonight Wink

vvvvvvv ie too early ,and had lots of m/cs but still.......Grin

Jebel · 22/06/2011 12:33

ooooh capiche tell us more!

PinkCustard · 22/06/2011 13:45

Does that mean you've had a BFP Capiche??!!!!! More info required!

I've decided to think positively about the spotting, as it's such a tiny amount and also is something which I don't usually get and I'm not normally preg, therefore because I'm experiencing something different this month maybe it'll be good news..??! Wink

How is everyone else getting on?

Capiche · 22/06/2011 17:17

i spotted last time i got pg and had never done before - 4dpo iirc

yes!! We have lines lots of them tilted up on window sills Smile miscarried many times in last 18 months but not yet whilst on clomid ..second month

we almost got caught out as my cycle is naturally 30 days but last month (first on clomid) did not ovulate until day 22....

we thought we were in for a long wait so not doing much swi - luckily twice in four days prior to surge..on surge day did it twice (!!) and then next two days

not much celebration going on but thats just because of m/cs !

Capiche · 22/06/2011 17:18

missed main point of post - ovulated as normal day 15/16

joycep · 22/06/2011 17:33

oh cross fingers for you capiche, sounding positive but can undersatnd the cautiousness.

Does anyone know whether clomid delays LH surge? I had my scan on MOnday and there was a ripe follicle. I've been given Ovitrelle to inject when i get my surge. Pre-clomid, I always got my surge either day 13 or 14 and my temp would go up 48hrs later to confirm ovulation. I'm now going in to day 15 - no signs of ovulation so it seems to be late. Will clomid have messed everything up?

Capiche · 22/06/2011 18:58

don't congratulate me - spotting tonight Sad

anyway que sera...
