First clomid pill popped last night

After more than a decade of fertility problems/miscarriages and then 2 miracle kids, we are embarking on our last ditch attempt for #3. It may be greedy, it may be foolish but we would love to have a bigger family. i don't seem able to get pg without intervention so clomid has been prescribed again.

If it doesn't work then I think we will finally have closure on a very long fertility journey. Even if it DOES work then it will be another miracle if I can hang on to the pg. I have had 7 m/c over the years.

We are very very lucky to have our 2 dcs but fingers crossed the lucky pills have one more dose of baby dust inside.

AF turned up today - hoo hiss. Exactly 14 days after I ov'd - so that's a good Luteal Phase I guess. I used to be worried it was too short at 10/11 days but it has gradually increased.

Anyway, I will therefore be popping my first clomid pill tomorrow night.

Any news on the blood test yet emma?

I took my second pill last night and had 4am insomnia and dreadful morning sickness this morning. I assume these are side effects I will have to put up with. So all the symtoms of pregnancy and no lovely little secret - how shit is that? Grin

Can I ask please..... When did you start the cough mixture?, do you only start it when you think you might be building up to ovulation or should I be taking it now (CD 4). Any news emma?

Hi - that doesn't sound very nice Hippy! Poor you. I had my scan on CD10 which showed a couple of ripe follicles. So i was injected with HCG to make them release. Stupidly i didn't take the cough syrup and for the first time ever i didn't get ewcm this month so i can't see how they will swim up there. I used conceive plus though. I would start taking the cough syrup now ig uess....

I am a bit worried that you said you had to have an injection to make the eggs release. I'm not being scanned so how will my eggs know to release (I thought they just did it Confused).

I think i have missed the boat hippy - i think eggs have been and gone. Oh don't worry your LH surge will release them. She injected me to induce ovulation. Otherwise, my eggs just sit around for days and days which means i have a short LP. I think my releasing mechanism is slow but by inducing ovulation, hopefully my LP will be longer...in theory!

Hi, how are you all doing?

I took my first 5 pills and am now on CD9. started the SMEP last night (Sperm meets egg plan). Basically you start shagging on day 8 and continue every other day until you get a positive on an OPK and then you do it for 3 days in a row, waia day and one for luck Shock. It's all a bit much really but I think I ought to go for it if I'm using clomid.

Also, I'm taking th cough mixture and grapefruit juice.

Hello ladies,

I've just been prescribed Chlomid and can collect my prescription tomorrow - the thing is that will be day 5 of my current cycle, will I have to wait a whole month to start or do you think it would be ok to take it on days 5-9?? I usually ovulate around day 18 so have a bit of a late ovulation, not sure if that makes a difference?

It should be fine to take it on days 5-9.
Some doctors say to take them on 2-6, 3-7 or 5-9 ..... or at least these are the ones i've heard of being used most.
Taking it on days 5-9 may make you O a bit later than day 18.

Thanks Serendipity I googled and found out that some docs seems to prescribe it on either days 2-6 or 5-9 so I think I should be ok and will give it a whirl.

Thanks hippychick I'm really hoping it is a super-drug. Am a little bit dubious as I think it's only been described to me as we fall into the 'unexplained subfertility' category and I don't think they have anything else to suggest at this stage - but fingers crossed all the same Smile

Ooh exciting hippy hope you got lots of action in over the weekend then?!

I've just taken pill number 5 today so will now try to lure DH into the bedroom for the next couple of weeks...

I use a CMFM and I'm wondering whether the clomid will interfere with results - I got a High today, I'm only on day 9 and wouldn't expect one so soon, but I know that clomid increases Oestrogen levels so I suppose it's to be expected. Hopefully the LH surge/Peak will still give me a good idea of ovulation? Am planning to just swi lots anyway, so hopefully will have the bases covered...

I did read that clomid doesn't interfere with OPK's. I am pretty sure I'm ovulating today - lots of pains. Keep imagining there are loads of eggs popping out.

No news from me yet - I expect to Ov middle of next week so we have embarked on the sex-every-other-day malarkey...Not too bad so far, I'm determined to maintain the momentum this month and keep at it until well after the egg should have popped.

I hope you popped out a fair few Hippy Wink

well i have 6 months worth but i'm really unconvinced by it as i ovulate already and it's made everything a bit different down there and AF is different as well. uum i'm not sure really about it.

I just had a really weird pain - it shot right up my bits and on the right hand side of my tummy at the same time. Too high to be ovaries but didn't stop me thinking oh God ovarian cysts!!!!

I guess we just over analys everything when were on the drugs.

I know what you mean joy - from what i've read clomid seems to give with one hand and take away with the other Confused

hippy, i kept getting odd pains down by ovaries and thought i was overstimulating! Perhaps your pain was you ovulating....?? or a trapped nerve. I must say i've been getting in a bit of a tizz over everything and over analysing and making me worry.
Did you have any ewcm or did you take the robitissun?
