First clomid pill popped last night

After more than a decade of fertility problems/miscarriages and then 2 miracle kids, we are embarking on our last ditch attempt for #3. It may be greedy, it may be foolish but we would love to have a bigger family. i don't seem able to get pg without intervention so clomid has been prescribed again.

If it doesn't work then I think we will finally have closure on a very long fertility journey. Even if it DOES work then it will be another miracle if I can hang on to the pg. I have had 7 m/c over the years.

We are very very lucky to have our 2 dcs but fingers crossed the lucky pills have one more dose of baby dust inside.

Thank you hippychick. I took it last night. Slightly nervous at taking it. I don't know why it felt like quite a big deal!

Is it worth getting this Robitsuusus (sp?) just in case ewcm dries up?

joy I think it will feel like a big deal when i take my first one too. I think it might be worth the cough medicine just in-case, I feel like I wanna do everything I can. At least drink lots of water as that is meant to help too. X

Aw Emma, I am sorry. Fingers crossed it is just building up slowly and if you test in another couple of days it will be better. Are you ok?

Joycep - welcome and I totally understand the nerves! I hope it works for you soon. The cough medicine has anecdotal evidence of helping with secretions (!) but it isn't a proven thing. Same with grapefruit juice!

clomid i am ok so used 2 it now but would of loved 4 it 2 happen this month as getting married in just under 6 weeks but i will test again wednesday if still no af

still no AF is a good sign, isn't it? Or does Clomid mess with all that too??

sorry for the bfn emma. it's just so disappointing month after month. I'm only on 50mg. I ovulate every month anyway and sO I'm finding it slightly concerning that i've been put on it - scared of hyperstimulation . But my gynae has said it is perfectly safe and should bring ovulation forward and give me a longer LP.

Sorry for another question but i've now got thrush as well...do you think it's ok to take a canisten oral tablet as well as taking clomid??

I woul think it would be ok joy i also did ovulate at about 24 but after blood test on 1st month of clomid it went to 96

I had thrush when i was pregnant last year and was told no oral tablets, pessary and cream only. But as you are not yet pregnant it might be ok. Could you bring yourself to ask the pharmasist

Sorry to hear about the thrush - it is bloody awful isn't it. I had a whole week-end of itching and pain and thought it was the worst week-end of my life - then a couple of weeks later we found out that I'd had a MMC and I had to wait all week-end for the EPRC - now that week-end was defo worse Ahh well mustn't think about all that - (positive thoughts, Hippy, you're almost in the clomid gang now!) AF due around the week-end - so could be popping first pill in a week

Just saw this thread and wanted to wish you all good luck. My little clomid baby is 7 now I hope it works for all of you. It was so long ago it's hard to remember what days I took it etc but I got pregnant the second month on it.

I did this morning & there were 3 (!!!) follicles all of 8 & 9 mm. Going back on Thurs to see if they have grown as they need to double in size for the nurse to get excited. I had to take my 2 1/2 yr old with me & felt a bit guilty going to the ACU with a child when clearly some people don't have any.

Not sure what to do about the cough medicine & forgot to ask the nurse. Looked online at Boots Robuttison (?) & it seemed to have 3 active ingredients. Any ideas?

Thanks Hippy - I will get the pessary. Urrgh , it's so annoying. I had never had it until last year and i have had it about 5 times now. I found out at the w/e I have given it to DH and i wonder whether he has been passing it back to me !! TTC #1 seems like the impossible right now and this doesn't help!

Kea - i have my scan on Monday next week. I bought Robitusun yesterday - it was for chesty cough and just said Guinafesn (sp) on the front...but a bunch of other stuff in the blurb. I have no idea when to take it though or if it's the right stuff....

I am really a bit clueless about what i'm expecing from clomid. My consultant hasn't really told me much. Does anyone know whether it's suppose to effect progesterone levels?

joy - i think the man can have thrush with no symptoms and will continuously give it back to the woman. That would explain the multiple times you've had it. Get him to pop a pill (he definitely can!) Hang in there, lovie.

I bought generic cough mixture it says guaifenesin on the front and has no other active ingredients. 2 teaspoons - 3 times a day. Bought from Tescos for under £2. Worth a shot I feel.

I'm not being scanned cos my clomid came from my GP and she has said only 3 months and only 50mg allowed.

kea I get what you mean about people trying for their first and you already have kids. I do feel very lucky to have my sons and I do appreciate that I am being cheeky to want one last baby and I can see why you would feel odd having to take your child to ACU. Hopefully there will be enough good luck floating around so that those trying for their first get lucky and there will be just enough luck left for us who have already been blessed with kids to get another one

I also am not being scanned as clomid came from my gp i have 1 progesterone blood test on day 21 on my 1st month on clomid and it went up to 96 i have taken 3 months now and last month was 100mg i also took the robitusun medicine last month i am now on cd38 i have had 4 bfn and going to the doctors tomorrow to hopefully have a blood test

emma is CD 38 unusual for you? Do you know when you ovulated? Maybe you are pregnant but it's not showing up on the test - that does sometimes happen. A blood test would be a definite yes or no. Fingers crossed for you.

since being on clomid it can b anything from 27 to 34 the longest i never done any ovulation tests but i do ovulate

shy one? they are sending me 4 a blood test even know they wasnt gonna they said re test in 2 weeks and act as if i am but i have my hen night in just over 2 weeks

Your hen night is in 2 weeks - wow - you like to have an exciting life don't you? I can see why you need to know whether you are or not. Who the hell can wait 2 weeks to test again anyway - my God you'd need nerves of steel.

emma hope you have some fab news for the wedding. I would be doing at least one test a day for a fortnight if that were me

Quick question: Do I need to see a gynacologist or will GP prescribe clomid??
