After more than a decade of fertility problems/miscarriages and then 2 miracle kids, we are embarking on our last ditch attempt for #3. It may be greedy, it may be foolish but we would love to have a bigger family. i don't seem able to get pg without intervention so clomid has been prescribed again.

If it doesn't work then I think we will finally have closure on a very long fertility journey. Even if it DOES work then it will be another miracle if I can hang on to the pg. I have had 7 m/c over the years.

We are very very lucky to have our 2 dcs but fingers crossed the lucky pills have one more dose of baby dust inside.

I'm feeling totally fed up of the whole thing this morning - sick of trying to guess when ov is happening, and completely sick of thinking about it ALL THE TIME!!

And now even Poi's bloody well pregnant! When is it my turn for a lovely baby bump??!!! Angry

Not too long for you to wait now Jebel...

PinkCustard · 14/06/2011 09:43

Just had call from my consultant as I'd phoned for my day 21 results and my progesterone level was 146, which he said shows that I ovulated. So that's good news - just what I needed as feeling grumpy about it all.

He also said though that clomid should help regulate my periods as although they are usually around 30 days, I sometimes get a 34 day one when I ovulate late. He said to keep monitoring my periods and if they don't regulate to up the dose to 100mg. Not sure about this really as if I'm ovulating already I don't want to risk overstimulation and increased side effects etc...but will see how it goes I suppose.

I suspect I ov-ed last night as ovaries were sore, we last did 'it' on Sunday night and will do it again tonight (and prob tomorrow for good measure) hope I haven't mistimed things. Think I need to calm down and remind myself I am doing all I can, the rest is out of my hands. (And breathe)

Sorry for rambling, hope everyone else is doing ok x

happystressedmum · 14/06/2011 13:07

Can I join too?

Have been ttc number 3 too for over a year now and am 39. Tried for two years the first time and a year the 2nd time. Recently had laparoscopy where they zapped endometiosis. Consultant prescribed clomid - 50mg for 3 months for now waiting for AF to arrive at the end of the week and can start - woo-hoo!!!

hippychick66 · 14/06/2011 13:38

happy I too had lazer for endo. Welcome to the thread - good luck with the clomid Grin

pink It's all so crap isn't it. No matter how hard we try not to think about it - it sneaks into your brain anyway.

Who is Poi? i'm thinking the chinese girl on CBeebies? Wow that takes me back haven't watched Cbeebies for a while.

I can't test until the week-end and am driving myself nuts with all the maybes. Will I never learn????

PinkCustard · 14/06/2011 16:54

Yes Hippy Poi off 'Show Me Show Me' she was there flaunting her bump this morning Humph. (Disclaimer - I have a 3 yr old DS which is why CBeebies was on, I wouldn't choose to watch it otherwise).

I really hate the few days before AF/testing that you're in at the moment, I find it the most stressful part of the month. Try to keep calm!!

Happily I've had loads of EWCM today (as if you really wanted to know!) so looks like egg(s) could be imminent and I haven't missed the boat yet. Also looks like EPO could be helping to counteract the effects of clomid on EWCM..?

Welcome Happy at least you know that it's taken you a while to get preg before and so hopefully it's just a matter of time again - and of course once you getting popping those clomid tablets you'll be pregas before you know it Wink

Capiche · 14/06/2011 21:47

anyone get dreadful headaches and or migraines...I have suffered terribly this month?

hippychick66 · 15/06/2011 10:17

I have to say that I was lucky and didn't seem to get any side effect like headaches. Sorry that probably doesn't help much Smile

Yes these last days of the cycle are the worst. i had another really high temp this morning and a horrible graphic dream, plus my boobs feel like they are stuck on Dolly Parton fake ones. All symptoms of pregnancy but alas also symptoms that there is a lot of preogesterone floating about. I have been fooled by my boobs so many times in the last year. I will just have to wait and see.

Anyone with egg whites, get shagging immediately Grin

PinkCustard · 15/06/2011 12:37

Capiche I have had a couple of mild headaches, but nothing more than that. I do occasionally get migraines (used to get them regularly as a teenager) and I know how horrendous they are so you have my sympathies.

Hippy all sounding good so far for you - had to smile at your comment 'I have been fooled by my boobs so many times in the last year' Like they're deliberately out to trick you Grin Keeping my fingers crossed for you. What dpo are you now?

Well I had a mini celebration to myself in the bathroom this morning as I finally got my Peak on the CBFM Hoorah! Still feeling quite bloated and tender around the ovary region - did everyone else get this?

Jebel · 15/06/2011 12:52

Hurrah for peak pink - get off the boards and start swi like a young thing.

capiche I haven't had any Clomid headaches but am feeling terrible at the moment 9DPO (or is it 10, I don't know - baby brain?). Don't know if it can affect the whole cycle.

PinkCustard · 15/06/2011 13:07

Thanks Jebel - got one in the bag last night (so to speak!) and am jiggling around my lounge in my nipple tassles and crotchless panties in anticipation of DH's return from work later Grin

hippychick66 · 15/06/2011 13:08

They are out to fool me - I tell you these boobs are evil Grin

I'm 10 days post ov - same as you jebel - will test at week-end if no AF. You??

Good news on the peak pink - yes I felt very tender around my ovaries at ov time and convinced myself it was cos I had over stimulated and was about to become 'octomum'!!

I was invited to go back into my old job and see two new born babies who were being brought in by their on mat leave mummies today. i managed to make the thing that I was doing at the school take a bit longer so I was unable to go and see the babies. I felt a bit of a bitch not going, but after my two MCs last year I just don't need to see new babies at the moment - am I mean?

capiche i looked up side effects of clomid (to see if it was accounting for my high temps) and read this about headaches _

A little over 1% of women in clinical trials reported headaches as a side effect of Clomid. If you?re experiencing headaches, it may help to take the medication in the evening, instead of the morning, so you can sleep through them. (If your doctor told you to specifically take the medication in the morning, you should ask first.) You should also be sure to get plenty of fluids, since mild dehydration can also lead to headaches.

hippychick66 · 15/06/2011 13:54

LOL @ pink waiting for her husband!!!!

Capiche · 15/06/2011 22:41

thanks for all the headache advice

feel like i've blown my chances this month as my teenager totally wound me up into a huge stress and now my body wont want to conceive....

Sad
Jebel · 16/06/2011 06:29

hippy I get what you mean about not wanting to see other people's babies. I am massively happy for other women having babies, but I'm not googoo gaga over them, it's my own offspring I want and I don't enjoy the reminder of my reproductive challenges.

Well, I couldn't resist and tested with a super sensitive test this morning. BFN of course as too early. But will keep testing until AF comes or I see the doctor on Monday. Have to hide tests from DH as he gets cross. At least the BFN means that the HGC jab I had is out of my system so if I did by chance get a positive it would be a true one.

hippychick66 · 16/06/2011 08:24

capiche - people have conceived in a war zone - hopefully it wont effect your chances. Sorry to hear about the row. Bloody teenagers Grin

jebel I like the words reproductive challenges - good choice of words. Sorry about BFN - but still time to get the BFP, as you said maybe too early - hard not to be tempted isn't it?

happystressedmum · 16/06/2011 13:14

Thank you Pink and Hippy!

Can someone help? My consultant said to take it days 2 - 5 but the instruction manual says take it for 5 days? Any advice?

Thanks

hippychick66 · 16/06/2011 16:15

happy I was told to start on day 2 and take 5 tabs. By my calculations that made day 2, 3 , 4, 5 & 6 I think you need to make sure as the extra dose could make a difference. Is your doc confused or just not good at maths?

PinkCustard · 16/06/2011 17:08

Everywhere I've read it says to take it for 5 days (although I'd missed the recommended day 2 by the time I got the prescription and took it from day 5 so don't listen to me!).

Boo to the BFN Jebel but as you know, you were just too early.

Well I was awoken last night at 2am by my painful ovaries! The pain continued until around 3.30am and then lessened enough for me to get back to sleep. But I've felt sore and bloated all day. I suspect it was ovulation going on, but am a bit concerned that all the effort might have damaged my poor ovaries, and that I was firing out hundreds of eggs in one shot - do you think I'm overreacting and am just a wuss sensitive to pain?

hippychick66 · 16/06/2011 18:00

pink ovulation pain can be quite bad. I once sat at work convinced that they were gonna have to call an ambulance for me and that turned out to be ov pain. U r not a wuss but equally your ovaries are meant to do that so i doubt you've damaged them Grin Like you, I got convinced this month that I was firing out zillions of eggs - ha bloody ha Hippy!!

joycep · 17/06/2011 07:14

Hey ladies - hope you are getting on ok. I've finished taking month two of clomid and now starting to BD with DH but it's becoming impossible because of pain. Has anyone heard of clomid causing thrush?? We used conceive plus and that didn't help. Last month everything was very dry and now I can't SWI at all. I don't think clomid is agreeing with my body urggghhh!!

happystressedmum · 17/06/2011 11:25

Thanks hippy. I will take it for 5 days - have 50mg tablets. I hope its going to work!!!!!!!!!

Good luck and baby dust to everyone ttc.

PinkCustard · 17/06/2011 18:35

(Bollox just typed a long-ish message and it vanished!!)

Joycep hope you get it sorted otherwise it defeats the point of taking clomid really - have you tried EPO and/or grapefruit juice? Think some cough medicines can help too..?

Thanks Hippy, I do usually ovulate and can normally feel a bit of a grumble in the ovary region, but this was much worse. I know it's just the clomid doing its thing though. I've had a teeny tiny bit of spotting today which I've heard can happen around ovulation, so looks like it's all working at the mo...

Hoorah for Friday - will be enjoying a nice cold glass of Wine later to celebrate the arrival of the weekend Smile

PinkCustard · 18/06/2011 09:47

Well I'm officially on my 1st clomid-induced 2ww! I'm really going to have to try and chillax about it a bit over the next 2 weeks otherwise I'll drive myself mad. I seem to have been even more obsessed this month than normal - please please let it work this time!!!!!!!!!

Jebel · 18/06/2011 17:39

good luck pink. I didn't have any luck this month. Will go and see the doctor on Monday for my next cycle.

PinkCustard · 18/06/2011 18:14

Oh sorry Jebel onto the next cycle then I suppose Sad

Am actually now mildly concerned about the spotting I'm having and have stupidly been googling it!! It hasn't produced any answers but has instead just fuelled my panic...did anyone else have mid-cycle spotting on clomid?
