By 'current scenario' I should clarify that this is taking place entirely in my head Blush

hippychick66 · 11/04/2011 16:22

(Hippy and Tina settle down to a nice jug of Pimms together - darlinks) tina all the best with the referal - please don't feel bad about yourself, hon - I'm sure your Hubbies reluctance is purely due to the tablets - how could it be anything else - you're gorgeous darlink!!

TTT Thanks so much for popping in - I always seem to be worrying that I've offended someone on here Hmm - glad to hear I haven't offended you sweetie. 28 weeks - whoop whoop. Thinking of you over the next couple of weeks XXX Sorry I have confused you by not discussing my BiscuitBiscuits - I will discuss them again as soon as I am sure I am post ovulation Grin

gum glad to hear you are ok and that you have tender boobs - IYSWIM

curly is the bed fixed - you little minx Wink

italian I think the sugar thing sounds quite good for you - maybe worth investigating, you said you get quite bloated and I have a friend who bloats up after eating fruit and drinking wine and that is due to an allergy to fructis or somthing like that (isn't fructis a shampoo??? Confused)

lou big hugs - when do you need me and jolls to fire up the quattro (I mean the heli-tot tot) again????

jolls OK???

No news on the job - which either means A) they can't decide between DH and another fab candidate or B) Hubbie didn't get it. Ahh well - say la vie (sp?)

Lovely day in the sun yesterday and today - rain coming tomorrow. Is BB still on holiday??? How long is this flippin' holiday for goodness sake Envy.

hippychick66 · 11/04/2011 16:25

diege crossed posts - Don't fret, sweetie - I'm sure diege-bean will have grown - you've had no more bleeding I assume??? Jolls and I will be there, promise (well in the same virtual way as we were last time Grin).

hippychick66 · 11/04/2011 21:30

Ha Ha - talk about disappearing up your own backside.

I decided to do some googling around about how many women have babies at the age of 45 (what a stoopid idea Hippy!!!) Anyway, was looking on mumsnet and other places - lots of people reporting in about having babies later and then someone on a MN thread said have a look at this thread and linked to one which they though was encouraging about having babies in later life :- yes, you've guessed it - it was my thread - the one I started when i was 7 weeks pregnant in early 2010 (called - Is there a thread for pregnant old birds?) Oh yes, very bloody encouraging I thought - I know that flippin' pregnancy didn't end well!!!

I shall stop googling now and yes I know, I never should have started!!Hmm

BeattieBow · 12/04/2011 00:43

Hi all. Yes hippy still on holiday!3 weeks is definitely worth it, v relaxing.
hello TTT blimey 28 weeks!

Italian have you tried Paul McKenna? He deals with that eating everything on the plate scenario .

gum fingers crossed for you

Hello everyone else! Probs with Internet here. No idea where I am in my cycle. Just trying to swi or swoi when I get the opportunity, due to sharing rooms/ beds etc. In the current hotel, it's just me, dh and ds2 in our room. And 2 beds!

Italiangreyhound · 12/04/2011 02:19

Diege I hope it will all go well with scan. Slap slap.

Oh dear Hippy how weird, you really did disappear up your own arse there! Well, I can tell you I met a real life lady who had a baby later in life but it genuinely was not planned. The one factor that seemed to be the case was that she was probably not stressed and was not trying! Maybe moving to Isle of Wight will make a difference to you. Less stress. If your friend is drinking shampoo then of course she is going to get bloated! I would give up sugar if I could but I think I am addicted, keep hanging around outside Co op asking people to go in and get me a half kilo of Tate and Lyles!

Curly the bed breaker, CTBB!

TTTwosAWOL fab wonderful news about you and a friend having babes at the same time. With my DD (before she was born) I had a funny experience. I had had IUI treatment but felt sure it would not work and a friend had a baby that week, we went to the hospital to see her and new baby and I cried in the loo and said to DH I can?t go in and see the baby, too emotional. DH was supportive but could not really understand why it was so hard for me. I held the baby and a tear slide down my cheek. Within about a week I had the happy news that I was pregers. The result of that pregnancy is now sitting on the sofa and asking me if cats loose teeth! (I typed this up a few hours ago - she is not still up at 2.15 a.m.)

Yes TTTwosAWOL good point about Disney land. I do often think of you when I am realising how often we (as in people in general) make a fuss about unfussworthy things and get upset about little things etc ? by that I mean you make me realise that it is important not to sweat the small stuff and to enjoy the good stuff while you can.

What is Mwah...?

BB thanks, for your support. For me it is more difficult than just eating everything on the plate, it is almost about removing certain foods from the cupboard or fridge too, I mean by eating them! I would love to know how Paul McKenna works but no one seems able to really explain it. I guess I am just sceptical because there have been so many things that people have said would work and have not and I have seem all kinds of things work for some and not for others, or heard about it working at one time and then not at another!

Gum hugs to the tender boobs!

Tina hope you will get back to your regular sex life and be swinging from the chandeliers again soon! Glad you enjoyed the Pimms! I love it too.

If anyone wants to join the debate about food and weight but not hijack this thread then I have started another thread on that topic

Big hugs to all of you. Brew Wink

hairylights · 12/04/2011 19:39

Hello lovelies. I'll be forty three tomorrow. Grin

Not sure I I posted it here but I have had three pregnancies and three miscarriages in the last year. BUT ... I'm clearly able to get pregnant, I've had my amh tested and although it's "reduced" it's not "low" and my fsh/lh is good.

I had bloods taken for recurrent miscarriage testing yesterday and I am going for it this year on the ttc front Grin

hippychick66 · 12/04/2011 21:05

Happy Birthday Hairy. Glad to hear your levels are all good. Hope the blood tests are helpful. Really feel with you lovie that it really is just a case of getting that good egg - all the best, matey Grin.

hairylights · 12/04/2011 22:58

Thanks hippy. I hope that's it. My gut tells me some kind of circulation problem. Consultant says unlikely to be egg issue, but I do wonder.

Italiangreyhound · 13/04/2011 01:28

Hairy Try the sperm meets egg plan, yes, I know it sounds obviously but some luck here with that on this thread. Happy birthday to you. Tell me more about the circulation thing? Do you know what you can do to help it if that is it?

Well I think I need to do a test tomorrow because period still not come on but I know it is not anything to get excited about. Last year it went missing for 6 months!

By the way, I've started a new thread about eating problems and posted some stuff. If you are interested, feel free to read it. It's mostly about impulsive eating.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/big_slim_whatever_weight_loss_club/1191480-Anyone-struggling-with-compulsive-ways-of-eating-Anyone-getting-any-answers?msgid=24845798#24845798

here

hairylights · 13/04/2011 08:18

What's that Italian? I have poor circulation andni winder if enough oxygen is getting around my womb because my babies have died in there :(

hairylights · 13/04/2011 08:22

Italian have googled. It's more or less what we do anyway. I use a cbfm and we swi a lot. I have had no problem getting pregnant (I caught three times out of five fertile cycles).

So my plan works with 60% success. It's the pregnancies failing that is the problem :(

randomimposter · 13/04/2011 08:37

Hi Hairy - nice to see you again.

We're sort of like twins, but you're younger (by 6 weeks!). Have also had 3 MMCs in 12 months. But I'm hoping you're different in that I haven't got pregnant now for a while (am in cycle 7), having got pg first time 3 times, and 3rd time once. I have had all the RMC tests and all clear.

If you're concerned about circulation, have you tried an acupuncturist specialising in fertility?

Wave to everyone else; CD6 here, should be gearing up to start SWI, but DP's cracked rib is still causing him a lot of pain (he hasn't rested at all, as we're full-pelt on getting house renovations advanced enough for us to move in ASAP). So I'm not sure we'll go for it this month. It sort of fits with my "am not happy in this temp house so doubt I'll conceive here theory"... BlushGrin

hairylights · 13/04/2011 09:49

Hi jolls twinny :) yeah I've tried Accupuncture ... She said I have sluggish pulse ... But I still miscarried while being treated :( I'm waiting to ttc at the moment. Blood results on 10th may and I have a few things to sort out with the house I own but don't live in (long story) but were going tot give it another go soon. If it goes wrong again were going to have pre transfer genetic testing with ivf.

Sorry you've had seven cycles and no bfp this time and here's hoping you'll get one soon.

randomimposter · 13/04/2011 09:58

Yeah, I MC last time even though I was having treatment. It hasn't put me off though. I do think sometimes Pg are not meant to be.

Interesting you talk of the pre-transfer testing. I asked about that too. The specialist I saw said that realistically with the likely fairly low number of eggs a 43 year would produce, anything that fiddled with the process could potentially further reduce the numbers available for transfer (if that makes sense).

I know I'm very lucky because I already have a child. I'm gradually becoming resigned to the fact that he will be an only.

hopefulgum · 13/04/2011 10:04

Hi Hairy, nice to see you again. I really hope you'll get your "sticky" pregnancy soon. It must hurt so much to have had three miscarriages.

If you are concerned about circulation, have you considered uterus massage? I know that sound so silly, but I read about it somewhere - supposedly helps bring more oxygenated blood into the pelvis. "Mayan massage" or something similar?

I've been taking a low dose aspirin this month.I think it helps if you have clotting issues which can cause miscarriage, but I don't even know if that is an issue for me. I'm thinking that it is prescribed for over fifties anyway(not that I'm over 50) but I just felt it wouldn't hurt.

I'm willing to bet you've been tested for that clotting thingy?Oh, yes, just read back that you are had blood taken yesterday. When do you get results?

I hope they can give you some answers. It must be so frustrating and heart-breaking.

Hoping you get your bfp soon, and you too Jolls.

Hippy, have your BiscuitBiscuit's made themselves noticeable yet?

My tender boobs aren't screaming for attention or anything, but still more tender than usual.

Just had the real estate agent here (we have been trying to sell some investment land we have for years), and feel quite down after she suggested we drop our price significantly. I know she is right, it's been on the market for 3 years and not a nibble, but I do feel sad, because it was going to be the source of income so I could work less and have babies. I just feel like everything is against me and maybe I should listen to reason and give up the dream.

Unfortunately every fibre of my being is saying, "keep trying, don't give up, it is worth fighting for". I suppose eventually we all feel tired and need a little rest from the fight.

I'll probably feel better tomorrow, and then in a weeks time when I get my BFP everything will seem brighter [power of positive thinking emoticon]

randomimposter · 13/04/2011 10:09

Hairy have you had Moxa as part of your acu treatment? click here

gum sorry about the real estate opinion - :( Keeping all crossed for you.

louisesh · 13/04/2011 10:20

aj71 · 13/04/2011 11:14

Hope you don't mind me jumping in ....

I'm not officially a 40something until August but my partner and I have decided it's time to stop trying not to have a baby and start trying.

I have one dd who is going to be 12 this year (from a previous marriage) and he has no kids. I did have a miscarriage about 5 years ago at about 9 weeks. My concern is that I'm rhesus negative and didn't get an Anti-D injection. Should I speak to my GP about this before we offically start trying?

Anyway, I've scared myself to death by googling the odds of having a baby at 40 but we've said we'll just see what happens. I think, however, it will be easier said than done not to focus on it.

randomimposter · 13/04/2011 11:27

hey AJ - welcome to the insanity.... Grin
I am also RH-
from memory, if you MC naturally before 12 weeks you don't need anti-D
you only need it if you bleed after 12 weeks, or have surgery
(also I think it's too late now I think - something sticks in my mind about having to have anti-d within 48 hours of a bleed...)

diege is also RH-, she'll be along soon hopefully

aj71 · 13/04/2011 11:32

Thanks for the welcome, jolster.

It's been sooooo long since I've even contemplated babies that I've forgotten all I once knew! I know I had the Anti-D after having DD and hopefully after my m/c it wasn't needed, like you said.

hippychick66 · 13/04/2011 11:52

Welcome J71- as jolls said - it's crazy here but there is always someone with good news. Like lou and diege approaching their second trimester - how the heck did that happen - I blinked I guess.

jolls Fire up the Heli for tomorrow!

Love to your poor DH and his rib (((Mr Jolly)))

gum sorry you feel like it's all against you. Maybe good stuff is around the corner for you guys.

News from here - Hubbie didn't get the job - not enough experience they said - but he's ok about it. Something good will happen for him on the job front I know it - he's very clever (even if he does waffle).

my boobs are a bit like gum's - tender but not screaming at me. But I like it when they feel achey (it makes me feel sure that i have ovulated and that progesterone has taken over - am i right??? Confused)

randomimposter · 13/04/2011 11:55

boohiss for MrHippy's news :( Usually means something better round the corner. Yeah game on for snug-heli tomorrow, but you are NOT taking the controls again. All my brown trousers are in the wash... In other news what CD are you hippster? When can we yell "test"...?

hippychick66 · 13/04/2011 13:29

Ok - you can drive (is that the right word for a helicopter Confused)?? erm I think I mean you can pilot.

I am only CD14 but I got a pos on the OPK early. I only have to do it tonight and I have followed the sperm meets egg plan this month (yes I really did do it 3 days in a row) [exhausted face] Had my day off yesterday!

So I will be looking to test Easter Week-end if the old bat hasn't turned up and ruined the Easter Party for me!!

Diege · 13/04/2011 13:47

Hello! Just a quickie from me as in between classes. Just wanting to confirm aj71 that Jolls is indeed correct in that a mc before 12 doesn't require anti-D (I checked with the mw after my bleed last time). Anything after 12 wks, or if you have an erpc before 12 (I think) requires anti-D.
Yes, scan tomorrow - have had a few scary dreams; last night I was in the fetal medical centre with Kypros whats-his-name doing my scan, and I was measuring big by 3 weeks...for some reason I am thinking I should maybe go down there and get a scan Confused I have even googled Fetal medical centre and am tempted to send them an e-mail. Is it worth having a nuchal if I would actually terminate a ds pregnancy? Confused
Anyway, real scan is at 9.45 tomorrow. Dh also told me as I was leaving the house this morning, that the mw (the hated one) has rung up (days ago) asking me to get in touch and book in. How does she know??!!! I had been waiting on this next scan before 'booking in' so am surprised she has somehow been told about me!
Better get going. Was late taking my second cyclizine and I am knowing about it...sorry for me post - will read back and be a bit more 'social' Grin
