Hi

To those of you that don't know me I've been hanging around the tcc after mc thread since I mc nearly 6 weeks ago. I just want to ask you updiffed ladies a quick question if no one minds?

3 weeks after my mc I had a short af and I'm day 19 now. On day 11 I had a positive opk and we dtd most days last week. This morning I've had some pale brown/pink mucous, mostly on wiping, and some small streaks of fresh blood. I have never had implantation bleeding before (I've also got a 3 yo dd), does it sound like that to any of you or has af come to get me 9 days early??? I should also add that during my first pg and after my mc I had cervical erosion but that cleared up at the start of last week. Help!!!

I'm sorry to hear your troubles harrassed xxxxx

MummyAbroad · 23/03/2011 13:17

Hi harrassed sorry you are going through this, how awful. Just so you know, I had bloods and scans done about the same time and learned that you are likely to see at least a pregnancy sac (and maybe fetal pole) when the blood HCG is greater than 2000ml and see a heartbeat when it is greater than 8000ml. This means if your first blood HCG is less than 2000 it could still be "normal" not to see the anything yet. (This is assuming scan is done transvaginally) When you get your second beta HCG level, there is a good calculator here that will help you check if the numbers are rising OK.

Collie I took 1000mg of Vit E on doctors orders after surgery on my uterus. It helps the body rebuild soft tissues and minimises the occurance of scar tissue. I took it for 6 weeks and then stopped when we started TTC again. I am taking a prenatal + extra folic acid + omega 3,6,9 at the mo.

Velvet Shock @ feinting! Hope you didnt hit your head?!

lovely to see good scan news teacake and wombat

wombat are you particularly worried about IC? I have to have extra cervix checks too at weeks 14-24. I need to get a new doctor to do it though, because I after I showed him the letter from my London doctor explaining that I needed these, he said "oh well, you know IC is a myth anyway?" !!!!Angry (and he has given me crap ms medication that doesnt work, mumble mumble mutter groan...)

Izz great plan. Smile

MummyAbroad · 23/03/2011 13:20

forgot to say to Zam my cheap internet pee sticks still werent very dark after a week, but by then I had had my blood HCG done and I was definitely pregnant.

nickstermum · 23/03/2011 13:26

Harrassed... so sorry i must have crossed posts with you..... so sorry xxxx

tiggersreturn · 23/03/2011 13:29

Velvet - I regularly tried fainting with ds but I have low blood pressure normally and pg makes it worse. This time I just felt faint on the tube so promptly sat down on the floor and got offered a seat as a consequence Grin

owlbooty · 23/03/2011 13:37

Harrassed :( It is still v.v.early for scanning - hope the bloods tell you what's going on. x

Velvet forgot to add - I hope you're okay and didn't damage yourself. I had a right wobble today and the cause was not having eaten enough this morning - time for a pie, perhaps?

melie post-MC pretty much anything can happen with cycles - it's a right pain in the arse not knowing what is going on and it seems it can take ages to get back to normal. So in summary - sorry, I don't know but fingers crossed it's something good :)

womble ace news on the good scan :)

MummyA your doc sounds charming. Can you tuck some prawns into the turn-ups of his curtains whilst he's not looking?

onions hoorah for the booked appointment!

harassedinherpants · 23/03/2011 14:16

Sorry, on my phone so not so easy!

I will get blood results today which is good. She did say that I may have ovulated late and not be as far as I thought, hence the blood test I presume. And I may need another one depending on results.

So I still have a tiny glimmer of hope.

Glad to see all the good scan results, gives us all hope!

Wombat33 · 23/03/2011 14:17

Mummya I've got none of the "ususal" indicators for IC (previous 2nd tri loss or cervical surgery) but, apologies for TMI Blush I have, and have had for ages now, a really weird sensation down there. Like things are really heavy and putting huge pressure on and when I sit down it feels as though I'm sitting on something. I feel the need to keep my legs tightly closed at all time to 'hold everything in/up' Blush Anyone else expperience anything like this??

It could be just a sensitive cervix (hence all the bleeding I had), or some other cause of swelling, or just crappy pelvic floor I guess! It just feels so unsettling.

I did ask the con l;ast time and she was rather unhelpful (refused too check basically). This time I was so totally caught up in the fact that everything looked okay with the bub I totally forgot to ask until we'd left. Now cursing myself. Next appointment is not until nearly 20+4 weeks (currently 15+4) so five weeks.

Collie2 · 23/03/2011 14:24

harassed I am so so sorry, but I am crossing every single finger in the hope all is not lost and it's just too early. I'm sorry you're going through this x

nickstermum · 23/03/2011 14:43

wombat yes i am the same re the pressure down there. Had the same with my DS. He was just very very low into my pelvis. I cant and couldnt wear any under the bump clothese, or anything remotely tight across just above my bikini line. It may just be that the bean is low down. They are funny re checking cervix, i asked the same thing at 14 weeks after that watery/bleed and they refused! and yet IC can happen between 14-20 weeks! It could just be that your cervix hasnt gone high up yet, i dont think mine retracted properly until something like 15 weeks...

Good you are staying pos Harrassed :)

MummyAbroad · 23/03/2011 15:03

Hi wombat I have just PM'd you everything I know about IC! Hope it is reassuring. I think the big problem is that a) its rare b) the treatment (cerclage) is widely debated as to whether its effective or not. So unless you have had IC in the past most doctors just prefer not to look into it, because its very hard to recommend what to do next. It would be nice if they could say something reassuring though, rather than just refusing requests with no explanation!

I think the pressure thing is normal though, from what I remember with DS.

knickercheckingboobsqueezer · 23/03/2011 15:06

hi there
whilst not newly up duffed, i am post mc. Am now 10 weeks along, and although the anxiety can usually be held at bay, i do have the odd freak out. Anyway else get freaked out at the womb stretching aches? i know from last time that it all is normal, but i just get caught in a spiral of worry.

anyone else feel like this?

tia

MummyAbroad · 23/03/2011 15:43

Right, just adding myself to the worried and freaking out queue. I've just had some brown blood (which spelled the death knell last time) and coupled with my guilt about being on the anti sickness meds has made me just book a scan. Luckily there is a place just round the corner from my house that can fit me in today and only charges £16 quid. I doubt I will get the most qualified and experienced sonographer in the world for that, but if there is a heartbeat I will be happy.

katherine2008 · 23/03/2011 15:50

MummyA have fx (and toes) for you - repeat mantra that blood doesn't mean anything. How long to wait til the scan?

Wombat33 · 23/03/2011 15:50

Big hugs Mummya. Keep repeating the thread mantra: brown blood is old blood. Hope to hear good news from you later today!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 23/03/2011 15:51

Big (((hugs))) mummya please please try not to freak out, lovely, we all know you can have every colour under the rainbow bleeding and chances are it is ok. Remember the odds are with you.

Keeping everything crossed that the scan gives you some reassurance xxx

knickerchecker as you will see, all levels of freaking out are normal post mc I'm afraid - I would give anything to be blissfully ignorant of what can go wrong! Hope you're managing to keep relatively sane Smile

Wombat33 · 23/03/2011 15:52

Thanks to Mummya and Nix for the info on IC. That's really reassuring. I think I just need to give myself a talking to for now and take some deep breaths. Nix my situation sounds similar to you with your DS in that I also have the discomfort you describe and cannot bear any clothes with waistbands that sit accross my lower tummy. Let's hope bub moves up soon!

Collie2 · 23/03/2011 15:53

mummya big deep breaths. This cannot go wrong, it cannot ... Fx for you, what time is your scan? X

Velvetcu · 23/03/2011 16:01

I wish scans were that cheap here! Good luck mummya
