Oh Daisy your lake district life sounds soooo idyllic! Does that mean the little lambs are Herdwicks too?? V Envy !!!

Hugs to Tunnocks and everyone else mentalling today. I'm starting to worry a bit about my scan tomorrow too. FX everything will be fine. Deep breaths all round!

Do we have any scanners today?

Wombat33 · 22/03/2011 14:40

Ps more fluctuating podge than bump here too. I can't wait for proper bump and proper kicks!

Hi all,

sorry not up to much typing as mega all day sickness has taken over my life Sad Just wanted to say

Teacake big HUG from me. I would have been livid and stressed too.

Collie You can always lie about your dates. Your twelve week scan date will be the one they use for due date anyway, so anything that happens before then will really be more related to your peace of mind about any early scans showing the "right" measurements.

xxxxxxxxxxxxx waves xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Wombat33 · 22/03/2011 14:59

Oh mummya I'm sorry to hear you're having such a hard time with the sickness. It will all be worth it when you have your little one in your arms xxx

Tunnocks Westmorland services are wonderful. We thought we'd discovered an unknown oasis when we stumbled upon them on a journey back from Scotland a couple of years back... until about 2 weeks later we saw them featured in the Times or similar having won a 'best service station in the UK' award Grin

Daisybell1 · 22/03/2011 15:07

Wombat and Tunnocks no, I'm afraid they're Swaledales and their cross-breeds, not herdies (they're Yorkshire hill sheep with black faces, curly horns and long shaggy coats). I would love herdies so much but he won't let me. Yet.... But herdie lambs are so gorgeous - little black teddy bears.

But he does breed Texdales which are a cross between the Swales and a chunkier breed and they are gorgeous. Little chunky things, with blotchy faces and really pretty eyes. Bless Grin

MummyA sorry to hear you're so poorly. Rotten, isn't it? This may be the last thing you can face, but have you tried eating it into submission?

Tunnocks my lovely former neighbour works at Westmorland services - wonderful, isn't it? I'd recommmend everyone go for a day trip.

Looks like Wombat and I have eaten all the pies Grin.

afternoon all,

tunnocks sorry you've had a bad start to the day. fx for tomorrow.

mummya sorry you're feeling so ill.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 22/03/2011 16:06

(((hugs))) for tunnocks and mummya - sorry you had such a crappy start to the day tt and ma I'm sorry you're feeling so rubbish Sad

daisy your lambs sound gorgeous Smile

knitter we used a variety of washable nappies because I liked to try new ones out but Bumgenius were always the favourites here - esp with dh and nursery! Dd didn't get on with Fuzzis but I would be tempted to try them again because the colours were nicer!! I would have to restock anyway due to having sold all ours (dd trained when she turned 2, so 2.5 years ago!)

Well I rang the mws to see if I got any extra monitoring/scans this time but as I suspected, nada. The mw was actually very nice about it and very sympathetic but basically said there's no point scanning because if I'm going to mc it'll happen anyway. So basically I'm on my own until 12 and then 20 weeks. I need to have a think about whether I can cope with that!!

IreneHeron · 22/03/2011 16:14

Oh yes, Tebay services, we always stop there when en route to my Mum's in Gloucestershire.

Mummya i find nappy bags very useful to hurl into. I always carry one in my pocket. Very useful because I find myself puking when out and about.

Tunnocks sorry you're having a bad time too.

Daisey I've no bump just podge, however it is podge that has a hard core. I'm already finding it hard to bend and I think the baby is pushing my podge out and maybe added water retention. With that and my tits growing I'm beginning to stretch my clothes. I'm growing quicker than with DS but maybe because I've more flab this time.

Hi all!

Tunnocks Good luck for tomorrow. Sorry you had a bad start to the day, at least you have sorted it out now and won't have a grumpy DH to confront this evening.

Izzy That infuriates me that they won't scan you. My GP told me that once, then my lovely lovely consultant said that a study actually showed that frequent scanning in recurrent miscarriers decreased the rate of miscarriage, presumably because they were less stressed? I don't know, all I know is that I hope they offer me frequent scans this time round. If not, you can bet I will be going private...totally worth the £100 IMO.

Collie I having been having some cramps today too, like my period is about to come. The wind is awful and I have been having loose stools (TMI) as well. A quick google says this is common :)

Knitter I think I will wait a little while before adding myself to the list if that's ok :)

MummyA Sorry you are so sick :( A good sign though!

Today is 14 DPO and I am on tenderhooks. I have a consultant appt tonight at 7:15. I bought some aspirin yesterday, its "enteric" aspirin 75mg....is this equivalent to baby aspirin?

mattsmama · 22/03/2011 17:07

Tunnock Good luck for the scan tomorrow. FX for you Smile

Banana - yes enteric aspirin 75mg is baby aspirin. Enteric means it is coated so it is gentler on your stomach thats all. I have the same otherwise I get awful heartburn

MummyAbroad · 22/03/2011 17:46

irene I am on meds, so not actually chucking up, just feeling horrible nausea all the time. I feel like i am on a fairground ride and I cant get off!

banana thanks, not feeling very reassured by the sickness though as I had HG with my mmc pregnancy but only mild sickness with DS! There is no logic to this at all! good luck with cons appointment - i hope he gives you a scan date Smile

Daisy I actually sometimes dont feel sick for a few seconds while I am eating or just after (how the hell does that work?), but its hit and miss. Its pretty hard pysching myself up to eat anything at all, cold things that dont smell are easier and variety is really important, what I can eat one day I cant the next! Sigh.

collie I had cramps like that for the first week or so. Have since discovered its your uterus growing! Good sign Smile

teacake Grin at pregnant sonographers! My ex gynecologist told me that he scanned his wife throughout her cycle when they were TTC in order to know when she was ovulating!

Izzy what a shame they wont scan, sounds like the postcode lottery in operation again. Like banana says, it has proven value on many studies for rmc, so its well worth it.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 22/03/2011 18:02

Thank you tt I know you would scan me!! Grin. Maybe we should all club together for a machine and pass it around as needed?!

I will pay if I have to, just for the peace of mind, just need to work out the cheapest way Smile

banana I am 15dpo today, we are virtually twins!!!

PinkFondantFancy · 22/03/2011 19:01

Wow it's been busy in here today!! I am loving the discussions on the relative merits of sheep breeds-so cool!! Grin I'm going to write down all the info about washable nappies but I'm going to need a crash course on the practicalities of what you actually do with them at some point!!!

zam I can't believe it myself really! I guess if I think about it, it is a bit easier-I'm feeling the calmest now of the whole time so far, but it's been less than a week since my last scan so we'll see how long it lasts!

harassed sorry no tips-I gave up even trying. I told my GP I was super anxious and I was told to "think positively". That's all...... Confused

collie the mw asked me how long my cycle length was when calculating DD, so hopefully they'll ask you too.

izz sorry you didn't have more luck. If you can afford them private scans are a fantastic way of putting the doom thoughts away for a while.

tunnocks I hope your day improved!! Be kind to yourself-definitely dont underestimate how mental you will go the day before a scan. I remember posting on here in a complete rage with DH because he took too long to get ready for bed... Blush oh BTW pregnant sonographers scan themselves all the time when preg, and all the time when ttc!! v v cool eh, much better than pee sticks!! I don't think they'll tell you heart rate BTW-they only told me that at the 12 week scan (the ones before were also private albeit somewhere different)

daisy I've got the weird spine/bum pain too!

mummya sorry you're still struggling, hopefully you'll turn a corner soon.

banana good luck with consultant appointment!

I am feeling vile today, I've got a sick headache and my eyes are burning :( pretty much straight to bed for me tonight I think-can't face any dinner...

nickstermum · 22/03/2011 19:23

mummy rubbish you are feeling so rotten. The only thing i could eat at that stage was weetabix and iced buns.. the more carby the better. Try and eat supper late at night to carry you through the night then its not so bad upon waking. PMSL at daisy's 'eatinginto submission' its true - thats what i have had to do... find something you can eat then eat it til it comes out of your ears. Think of it as reassuring, and its not the hyperemis you had before Grin

izz am disgusted with your MW! sorry if thats harsh.... bloody beaurocracy! Supposedly late MC is treated diifferently....Well i think pink should have invested in her own scanner after all, could have made a killing from all her newly diffed pals!!

To reassure collie and banana i had loose poos all the way through. Was convinced it was MC related as i had quite violent bouts during nat MC also - but was totally wrong :) pinks consultant says its a good sign apparently - of what no one is sure Grin

teacake we make the piggy backs fun... the mummy/daddy train. Ds has to put coal and water in to make steam and pull the horn, blow the whistle and off we go! Gets him upstairs at bedtime anyway - oh yes and he has to give us a ticket to get on the train Grin...train mad y'see Grin

PinkFondantFancy · 22/03/2011 19:41

nix you crack me up Grin I feel like I should have made better use of the consultant and instead of going "really??? oh ok, great" I should have actually made him explain himself! Your piggy back train sounds lovely! V. sweet! PS. where is the grads thread? I was going to lurk but it seems to have mysteriously vanished??

PSS. new taste sensation - twiglets dunked in Dairylea Grin Grin om nom nom nom NOM!!!

nickstermum · 22/03/2011 20:08

GRADS here

pink definately!

Have had to delete a thread permanently from my watch list.... remember that one that got you so hyped pink and ended up being rude etc? Well not that one Grin AN thread, why why why do people post about gender disappointment when they find out the sex of the baby...? Honestly, just dont get it! Whats the point in finding out? Its either going to be 1 or t'other 50/50 chance!!

Sorry rant over, as you were! Grin

Velvetcu · 22/03/2011 20:24

good luck with your scan tomorrow tunnocks

I am sooo bloated I'm sure people are going to start asking soon. How can I get rid of it??

mummya I hope you start to feel better soon, such bad ms must be awful.

big helloooo to everyone else, hope you are all good, I haven't had a chance to catch up.

PinkFondantFancy · 22/03/2011 21:11

Hahahha nix I don't know what came over me that day-I had ridiculous rage!!! They were being very whingy though.... Think it might have been just before a scan or something! I'm feeling chilled so I went to look for that gender thread but didn't find it-probably for the best!! I find it staggering too-if its completely unthinkable that you'd want one particular gender, i would say a 50% chance of having it is too much and you should give it a miss in the first place!

velvet I'm afraid it's here to stay now!! :D I find a good fart helps a bit but only with the discomfort-I am permanently inflated! Weirdly the bloat bump is getting harder so maybe it's morphing into baby bump? Or am I just being deluded??

CEP Grin "terrible zoning" LMAO

tunnocks drink lots and lots of water, will help flush it. Also I take concentrated cranberry capsules from the health food shop if I can feel it coming on, seems to work much better than normal cranberry juice which seems to be mainly sugar. Fingers crossed antibiotics will fix you up v soon
