Thank you thank you for your kind welcomes - feeling very emotional and brought proper tears to eyes! I am already checking knickers every hour or so... god there is a lot of that to come yet isn't there...! wombat fingers crossed with that test and I'll try to keep up with everyone over the next few weeks!

katherine2008 · 07/03/2011 15:01

the first of many stupid questions - if my last af started on 4 February how can I work out how many weeks I am - is there a calculator on here? Also when should I expect symptoms apart from exhaustion and weeing - those have both started already?...!

owlbooty · 07/03/2011 15:03

Oi Wombat Grin You might be closer than you think - the first day I think I felt something suspicious was 15 + 6. But, like I say, it may all just be farts.

So lovely to see people getting to double figures :)

And yes, Katherine , knicker checking is mandatory :)

nickstermum · 07/03/2011 15:42

Rippling is a feeling - not fluttering here, more an alien under the skin rippling effect... I was feeling 'something' earlier than 18 weeks.. but not very often! certainly not daily.. maybe twice a week. Its the sporadic-ness that does my head in. Here one minute, gone the next Confused

Farts always lead to double confusion though... one must concentrate harder Grin (although it really should be easier to distinguish now my bowel is up around my ears!!)

AliTheMinx · 07/03/2011 16:04

Hello all. Hope I can join your group? This is my third pregnancy, but my first two ended in miscarriage, so it's a very anxious time. Still very early days... 6+3 based on ovulation, so a looooooong way to go. Great to see so many positive stories on this thread - that's really encouraging! XXXXXXXX

Wombat33 · 07/03/2011 16:24

Hello and welcome ali!

Thanks all for the encouraging words - I'll will look out for fart type flutters in the coming weeks!

Am facing my demons and buying maternity clothes! FX for next scan in 2.5 wks time!

hotnspicyonions · 07/03/2011 18:20

katehrine stupid questions are pretty mandatory on here as well of TMI Blush and any other things from your RL you'd like to share! Yes there is a due date calculator just on the right side of this page. If you are a 28 day cycler you will be due in Noveber (have sneek peeked but thought I'd leave it to you to find out the exact date!)

Ali welcome to the madness, lovely news. Lets hope it's third time lucky Wink.

Wombat good for you going to get maternity clothes. Makes it all that bit more real eh?!

nickster after a weekend with the girls it's been lovely to be free with my wind today! There's nothing quite like letting it rip and shocking DP! He thinks I'd give most men a run for their money Wink

Can't you tell its a work day, all quiet on the thread front!!

Velvetcu · 07/03/2011 18:44

Right after loads of goo today I have booked an appointment with the nurse. They tried to tell me there were no appts til next Tuesday but I told her what it is for and I'm going in tomorrow. Thanks nix :) did you just take antibiotics for your infection? Is there anything in particular I need to ask her about?

I was gonna book a scan for next weds but I'm too scared! How do you deal with that? I definately need to go next weeks because of going on holiday.

Welcome Ali - let the mentalling begin :)

nickstermum · 07/03/2011 18:54

Hey velvet it depends what comes up hon, if anything! I have been swabbed recently (and even the gp thought i had an infection just by looking!!) and it came up clear.... when i had a bacterial infec it was strep A so i had to have abs as that one can cause premature labour. I was only 6-7 weeks. They are safe to take in pg, as longas the doc knows you are pg! With bacterials - they just tend to be an imbalance of your natural fanny flora...it may be thrush or something though..or could be nowt!! They should just do a gentle vag swab and shouldnt need to use the ducks bill..unless they think its cervical.

Facing the scan demons is all part of the mentalling...i dont know how you do it.. knowing what is there is far better than not knowing at all..but its tough!

katherine2008 · 07/03/2011 19:33

hotnspicy thank you, I feel like I'm tempting fate by even typing in those boxes but 9 November it is and apparently (I have googled) I am 4+4 which is TOO exciting... so only 3 weeks til I can have a scan - is that about right? Hi Ali and good luck Velvet for tomorrow.

KnitterNotTwitter · 07/03/2011 20:03

Quiet day from me today ... mostly caused by getting dates through for my booking in appointment (Sat 26th March), Blood Tests and Anomalies Scan (5th April)... The 5th of April is less than a month away which seems really soon... FX we get that far this time... with the MMC I was having my ERPC at the same moment I should have been having that scan :(

Velvet like the idea of hunky waiters for the VIP area... can I suggest Butlers in the Buff... had them on my hen weekend and they were lovely :)

Velvetcu · 07/03/2011 21:12

knitter I got the letter for my nuchal scan the morning after I found out about my mmc so I know where you are coming from there. DH has just informed me he isn't available for a scan til 18th so looks like that's when I'll be going too! April 4th is really close but time is going sooo slowly for me - are you all finding that?

Thanks nix its good to know that an infection could just be one of those things. At least I'll feel a bit better having it checked.

DH is really annoying me! I'm not at all hopeful about this pg but I was talking to him about how my maternity leave would be perfectly timed with school hols and he told me off and said he doesn't want to even think about it til after the scan when we know if it's actually there or not. Needless to say that started me sobbing :( I tried to explain that I can't ignore it even though I want to because of all of the things that are physically happening to me. Ah well I told you this would be a shit week.

Our Internet connection has been off since Friday and this isvalso feeding my rage monster!!

Hils74 · 07/03/2011 21:25

I've been to a hen do with a Butler in the Buff too - very funny!! :)

Welcome Ali, sorry to hear about your previous experiences

Ok, well Weds will be 5 weeks, so got everything crossed that I make it past, after my mc at 5 weeks in Feb. Trying so hard not to worry but its so difficult not to think every twinge is bad news :(

Symptoms so far have been really hungry, and now I've got sore boobs, no nausea yet...

AandRMum · 07/03/2011 22:48

Hi lovely newbies - welcome.

OrangeGloss · 08/03/2011 07:00

Wow I missed so much I need to read the end of the last thread but wanted to give (((hugs))) to Velvet now. Does he have any other dads he can talk to? I think it's helped my DH a lot comparing notes/women. I'm sure he'll come round soon

Proper catch up tonight, but good luck if there are any scanners today

Wombat33 · 08/03/2011 08:34

Good luck today to velvet and any scanners!

hotnspicyonions · 08/03/2011 09:19

Morning all mentalists! What a lovely fresh and bright sunny morning it is here on the south coast. I love waking up and having clear blue sky outside. I find it makes the days so easier, and also takes me back to my repping days Grin.....

Do we have any scanners today? If there are, good luck and I'm looking forward to the updates!

KnitterNotTwitter · 08/03/2011 10:01

Morning everyone

It's beautiful here too today - although the car had ice on the windscreen so I suspect that all my little plants on the allotment might have struggled in the frost :(

tonythetyger · 08/03/2011 11:30

Just marking place on new thread. Don't like house. I was really sick for all of sunday but decided that symptoms looked more like stomach bug than morning sickness.

I now have an interesting meter inserted partly under my skin to supposedly monitor my blood sugar for the next 3 days. It's rather painful.

1 more week exactly till 12 week scan. Pink why do you have to wait longer? Is it hospital booking frustrations?

Stomach is definitely bigger and I have been dreaming of being cut open up to my breast bone at 20 weeks in order to reposition babies. Major anxiety of the dream was how to explain to work why I need some time off for recovery and that it wasn't necessary and they would have to do it all again.

I managed to watch one born every minute last night (first time ever) and managed to survive it quite well with just requisite tears at each birth. It actually made me happier about my choice of hospital as for all my niggles the last time it was 10 times better than the one on the screen.

Wombat I understand your feelings. If they're still there next week I'm planning on telling my sisters the following sunday (my parents know already). One is unlikely to be very pleased as she's expecting her 1st and twins are kind of hard to beat. Yes we are endlessly competitive too.

Waves to everyone else.

digitalgirl · 08/03/2011 11:48

SadJust got a gush of light brown (sort of orangey) goo. After having completely pristine cm the entire pregnancy, am 8+3 today.

Am sat in the loos crying my eyes out. Epu are seeing me this afternoon. Supposed to be directing a shoot tomorrow, but if this is the start of an mc then there's no way I can do it. I don't want to have to tell my boss yet again I'm letting them all down because yet again I can't keep a pregnancy. SadAngry

No cramping yet, but did have some earlier this morning. Fuck fuck fuck

owlbooty · 08/03/2011 11:54

Oh digi :( Do not think the worst (hard I know given what you've been through in the past).

As you say, tis light brown. This does not mean impending doom - it may well just be random old stuff being dislodged by the bean getting settled in. Good that EPU are seeing you this afternoon, I hope the news is good - massive hug xx

Tony - almost 12 weeks already? Ace :) Meter sounds clever but unpleasant; random weird dreams sound absolutely par for the course. Hope the Tygerbeans are doing well :)

tonythetyger · 08/03/2011 11:55

Digi - am thinking of you and hope this is just fake period reminders.

KnitterNotTwitter · 08/03/2011 12:01

digi fx that all is fine in the end.... will be waiting to hear your news with bated breath....

Wombat33 · 08/03/2011 12:17

FX that everything is fine digi my brown has been all soorts of consistencies including watery so don't dispair just yet. 8 wks os also classic time to get some blood as tyger says xxx

hotnspicyonions · 08/03/2011 12:24

FX from me too Digi. Glad the EPU can see you quickly for answers.
