Ah pink phew! and just re-read my post about 'that' thread and i didnt mean you ended up being rude... i meant it all ended up being rude!! But what annoyed me last night was it was the same woman who started the i hate pg thread... so i think i became all defensive about women who had MC Grin

And yes second the cranberry tablets teacake.... they work! Cranberry juice will make your teeth fall out (esp when you add in the bags of haribos consumed during tri-1 !!!) Hope you get less burning soonx xx

I dont have cystitis,,,, but am peeing 4 times a night - GAH!

Ninunina · 23/03/2011 07:11

Good morning ladies, I've been away for a few days and simply can't keep up with all the posts.

Welcome to all the newbies from the mc thread. I'm so glad so many of us are here!

Congrats on all the scans. It must be so lovely to hear a hb.

Has anyone had a scan at 5+4 or 5+5 weeks. I still need to go for my dating scan and was thinking of going on Thursday or Friday. I would love to see lil bee's heart pumping away, but can't leave it too long since I can't register at the hospital until I do this scan and I've been told Kingston maternity gets booked up very quickly.

Ninunina · 23/03/2011 07:16

Now for some mentaling...I haven't noticed that I need to pee more often. Is something wrong? Also, do anyone's boobs get sore for one part of the day, then vanish for the other part. I'm finding myself prodding in meetings. My colleagues must think I'm bonkers.

wombatinwaiting · 23/03/2011 07:26

Morning all - trust your Wednesdays are off to a good start barring nausea / constant weeing / boob-poking / cystitis / need I go on....?!

From my (limited) knowledge ninunina you're unlikely to see a hb until between 6 and 7 weeks and as for your symptoms, it's really anything goes - some women pee more, others don't, some women's boobs get sore, others don't, others only at certain times of the day. Hope this offers some reassurance and if you work out a subtle way to boob-poke during the meetings, please do let me know - I could do with some help on that one! Grin

Have started with the progesterone supplements with the help of some "top tips" from Pink and so far, so good. Other than that, not much to report other than trying to keep myself as busy as possible in vain attempt to not think about this too much.... Hmm.....

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 23/03/2011 07:54

Ouch tunnocks I hate cystitis! Another vote here for cranberry tablets.

ninuina my local private hospital says no scans before 7 weeks to be sure of seeing a hb and not promoting more mentalling!! You might see one earlier but I would have thought before 6.5 weeks your chances are pretty slim tbh.

Grin at nix and pink causing havoc on the boards...fwiw I don't understand gender disappointment either!

Dh has agreed I can book what scans I want, so I'm going to get one booked in for 8 wks+ because I think that's far enough along to get a good view. Then we'll take it from there

Brew for all x

ZamMummyInGabs · 23/03/2011 07:58

Hello all, just a quickie on phone in hairdressers - I definitely recommend the cranberry capsules, I had chronic cystitis for 2 years 1996-1998 till I started taking the H&B ones every day - now only take one if I feel it coming on. Tho I think my cystitis was started by an allergy to exP (!)
Question for all faint-liners: when did said line get stronger? I'm only 12dpo today, line still faint but defo there. And feeling sick, with metal mouth & high temps.

harassedinherpants · 23/03/2011 08:02

An all about me post, sorry.

Had some pinky discharge this morning Sad. Will they do anything this early - 5+1?

Had this last time and ended up with mmc at 10 weeks. Hyper freaking out.

PinkFondantFancy · 23/03/2011 08:50

Hi nin I think it's unlikely you'll see a heartbeat tbh, but fingers crossed at least you'll get the reassurance of seeing a sac and yolk in the right place. I didn't have the needing to pee more thing at all, except for one day that involved driving over lots of speed bumps.... Grin also the boob pain comes and goes-I think it's designed just to freak us out!!

Good work booking the private scan izz-I think it's a v positive thing to do.

zam sounds to me like the pee sticks are a bit superfluous given your impressive array of symptoms! Some of the sticks only ever give a faint line anyway, shame you can't get digi-I can post you one if you want???? I bought a stockpile when the were on offer on amazon!!!

harassed this is rich coming from me, but try not to panic. I had a meltdown about this a couple of weeks ago, but was told by both the dr and the midwife that pink is fine and v v common. Most of us on here have had bleeding or discharge this time around, and it freaked us all out because like you it was the sign that things were going wrong last time. Huge hugs, fingers crossed it's just your bean burrowing in.

owlbooty · 23/03/2011 10:04

Hey Zam - have a look at my photos on here; you can see the full collection of peesticks with DPO written on them Grin It did take a while before the line got darker. It never got darker on the crapper internet cheapies I was using at first.

Nin I'd try and wait for a later scan date if poss, really early scans seem to cause more worry than good as what you can see varies wildly at that stage. I had barely any symptoms at the stage you're at now. You're probably entertaining your colleagues with all the prodding though :)

harrassed it might well be the bean burrowing in and getting comfy (a lot of us have had random scary pink stuff/spotting/brown stuff during weeks 4 and 5). Probably best to see how things pan out in the next few days - there's so little they can see or do when it's early but for the vast majority of people in here it's proved to be nothing serious - as I said to someone else the other day, remember: the odds are massively in your favour!

Collie2 · 23/03/2011 10:30

Morning everyone,

Lurking for news from tunnocks

izzy Sad that your mw won?t give you any extra monitoring. In reality I?m not expecting anything really, but I can hope as it really does seem to vary from place to place. I?ve got my appointment for a week today with a lovely gp that I spoke to on the phone while I was mc-ing. Hoping he?ll have sympathy. What?s your mc experience izzy ?

Mummya sorry you are feeling so rotten, especially if you don?t even feel reassured by it. I agree that carbs help ? I lived off bread in my last pg.

harassed try not to worry about pink discharge (dishing out good advice is so easy, I know I would be freaking out too). Lots of people on here have had similar and been ok - cep was the same just the other week. If it gets worse maybe get it checked out for peace of mind though?

owl I think its good to remind ourselves that the odds are in our favour, as its easy to forget that. I was just saying to dh the other day that before my mc I knew the risks but my attitude was kind of ?well why would it be me?, taking the assumption that all would be fine. Now i can?t help but think ?why wouldn?t it be me?, and being conviced it will go wrong. Sorry, that was supposed to be a positive post, but what I am trying to say is thanks owl for reminding us, you are right, we should try and be positive as its more likely to be ok than not.

banana I have less issue with loose stools but major issues with wind Blush ? has anyone suffered with indigestion? I seem to get in bad in the evening.

wiw hi. Glad you're keeping busy and not mentalling. Smile

Zam I had a faint line on 12 dpo that very very slowly got stronger. Only felt like a ?proper? line at 17dpo.

cep how are you lovely?

This is interesting about cranberry tablets Can I ask if anyone is taking any supplements? I was taking all sorts when ttc ? zinc, epo, flax seed and selenium, but the only thing I am still taking is folic. Was it izzy or velvet that took Vit E? Do you still take a monthly does? I seem to get major zit breakouts with pg Sad

Back at work today, not really in the right frame of mind for it and already been hassled by annoying people who don't know what they are doing what something from me.

teacake fab news on the scan front Grin

Anyone else who have had succesful scans last couple of days big whoooop Grin

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 23/03/2011 11:13

Fab news tunnocks !! Grin Grin Grin

harassed hope you're feeling less wobbly and the pink has stopped - I have on and off brown goo (lovely!) atm but have hasvarious shades of brown/pink/red in previous pgs so I know how worrying it can be, but like the others said, odds are definitely in your favour!

mamap I hope you're not getting too stressed, lovely

collie At the risk of terrifying everyone - and I do emphasise this is very rare - I had a mmc at 16+2; at least, that's when it was picked up (no hb at 16 wk mw appt). Baby had died at about 14 wks. No symptoms and scans had all been fine. Hence my desperate urge for a scan - if I get that far - at 15 wks. I can't face the thought of walking into that 16 wk appt again not knowing what I'm going to find Sad however I have come up with a cunning plan: I'm going to pay for scan at 8 weeks and then NT at 12. Asumming all is still ok, I'm then going to ask mw to apply for a late 12-wk dating scan via nhs to come through at 15 wks. If they won't cooperate I'm going to wait for the appt to come through and then ring and say I'm on holiday for 3 weeks and put it back to 15 anyway Grin

mattsmama · 23/03/2011 11:22

Morning Ladies TUNNOCKS Fantastic news on that scan - you must be nice and relieved now Grin

Everyone else - hello and big waves to you all Smile

PinkFondantFancy · 23/03/2011 11:35

Fab news tunnocks

izz good plan but DON'T tell the midwife you're doing private 12 wk scan-I did for some reason and she refused to book me in for an Nhs one Angry bloody cheeky. Wish I'd kicked off now as one at 14wk or so would be very reassuring....

Proper catch up later

nickstermum · 23/03/2011 11:43

Awesome news teacake Grin

harrassed - lots of us have had brown/red/pink and even purple(?) i think GOO! its a given on this thread... hopefully we are all proof that things can and do work out positively given those symptoms- Fret not too much sweetie, hopefully tis burrowing bean.

MP rubbish to legal issues - just not what you need right now :(

Ah yes who was asking re supplements - ? shockingly this tme i have taken bugger all!! DH commented on it the other day that i took pill after pill when pg with DS and even fish oil i have struggled - the thought of burping back up fish oil has been enough to put me right off this time. I didnt continue taking BVit complex just cos had run out. Folic was the only thing i took religiously...for the last year. bad mummytobe - wont have a brainy baby!!!

Having said that i have tons of friends who all took nowt...but folic and their kids are as healthy as can be.

Velvetcu · 23/03/2011 11:52

great news tunnocks

harassed try not to worry - I also had lots of multi coloured goo at various times over the past few weeks, worst being around 5/6 weeks.

mamap sorry you are having a stressful time, not what you need at all.

Pink thanks for the advice about not telling mw re private scans - I'm booking in tomorrow and was ddebating whether to tell her we are going to have a 12 weeks one.

Sooo I have avoided ms but seem to be developing every other symptom possible to make up for that! Most recent one - have come home from work after fainting whilst on duty in the playground this morning :( I had everyone faffing about over me, asking what I thought was wrong with me etc etc. Anyone else have this? I will talk to the mw about it tomorrow too.

owlbooty · 23/03/2011 12:07

Aw shucks MamaP Grin Now I want an Owl number plate. And to give whoever is causing you legal issues a right good slap.

I've only taken folic acid. But I have been taking that since March last year so I was quite happy to stop taking it around 14 weeks. I haven't seen any convincing evidence that any of the other stuff is actually helpful unless you are living on cream buns (and let's face it, if you're living on cream buns then it's probably because everything else including large tablets is making you barf).

Velvet my SIL did the fainting thing - she was told it was quite common as blood pressure is all over the shop with all the extra new blood and veins changing and stuff. You do need to be a bit careful standing up, esp. obviously when getting out of the bath. Otherwise it all gets a bit woozy and vague.

Tunnocks that is top news, missus, am v.v.pleased and hope you thoroughly enjoy your day off mentalling Grin

Wombat33 · 23/03/2011 12:13

fab news on the scan tunnocks!

Good scan here too! Although forgot to ask about cervix issues and am paranoid about that Blush

Velvetcu · 23/03/2011 12:21

yay for good news from Wombat too :)

mattsmama · 23/03/2011 12:24

Wombat great news on the scan Grin

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 23/03/2011 12:25

Good stuff wombat Grin Grin

velvet could be low bp? I don't tend to faint but do have bouts of dizziness on standing - I think it's quite common. Hope you're feeling better now - put your feet up and enjoy the sunshine!

pink right, so fib to mws. Thanks for the tip!

Collie2 · 23/03/2011 12:30

Yay for good scans for tunnocks and wombat

harassedinherpants · 23/03/2011 12:39

Just a quick update. Pink turned to red with a couple of tiny clots. Been to epu and scan showed empty womb and ovaries clear. They've taken blood so waiting for results later. Thu.k that's it for me though.

Will come back later and catch up, head thumping at the moment.

katherine2008 · 23/03/2011 12:39

Double Yay for good scans and take care velvet
