Fingers - I know exactly how you feel! I'm on day seven of cycle ten, and getting really pissed off, especially as it took eight months for my cycles to even start again after coming off the pill! I completely sympathise with thinking it'll never happen. I can't help thinking that there must be something wrong, as both DH and I are only twenty-eight, and we've been SWI for months now :(

But look on the bright side, eh? The longer we spend without a BFP, the longer we get to enjoy the wonders of gin Grin

Imps7 · 18/05/2011 20:48

Aaaaaahhhhh....gin....

JosieSmith1 · 18/05/2011 21:31

Welcome Jazzy I will update the list tomorrow, too busy dancing tonight Grin

Sorry to hear everyone seems to be a bit down. I have been down recently but I've found listening to dancy music, very loudly, while jumping round the house like an idiot is a great remedy Grin No Wine necessary but if you want it, have it Grin

Imps that's exactly my attitude at the moment, they're not going to break me and I'm going to be even more bubbly and loud just to prove it Grin She's been fine this week actually, but pg lady isn't in, it'll be interesting to see if she's different when pg lady comes back. In the meantime, I'm listing every single little thing I do at work, and since Thursday I've written 5 pages, so if she wants to question how busy I am she's gonna get it in her face Grin

Fingers you're not alone, look at me, 2 instances of depression so far and I'm still not there yet. I refuse to give up though, but I know it's difficult to look at iut that way sometimes.

Hope everyone is feeling brighter soon (hugs all round)

Well, I'm now on CD1 of cycle 7, just loved getting cramps at work too! Onwards and upwards! :/

Fingerscrossed1 · 19/05/2011 17:09

Thanks for responding to my crazed message yesterday...feeling a little bit less mental today Smile

Concentrating on long weekend in Espangna next weekend now, intend on making the most of being able to consurm San Miguel Grin

Fingerscrossed1 · 19/05/2011 17:10

Ahem...consume that is

JosieSmith1 · 19/05/2011 18:02

Have you consumed a bit of san miguel already Fingers Grin Glad you're feeling better today.

Sorry to hear you're on CD1 Clo but at least it means you have a shag-a-thon coming up Smile

CaveMum · 19/05/2011 19:06

Hi everyone, just stopping by to say I'm still here! Trying to spend less time on here too (though I keep getting sucked into the West Wing threads in Telly Addicts Grin)

Sorry for everyone that has been feeling down, I know exactly how you feel. I think the key is to allow yourself a little down time but then focus on picking yourself up again. If you let it the depression will consume you and drag you down further.

On my front, my appointment has come through for 11 July. It is under a general anaesthetic so I will need 2 days off work for the op and recovery. It is progress I guess.

Hugs to all!

LateToTheTTCParty · 19/05/2011 21:45

Hey Fingers, DH & I are off to Barcelona for the long weekend, I'm so lookingforward to it - not least because I should be ovulating that Saturday! Wink

Fingerscrossed1 · 20/05/2011 09:57

Josie I have been a very good girl and abstained from alcohol this week and so tonight I will most definately be partaking in a few units Smile

Late your Barcelona weekend will be amazing! And what good timing..one problem though... if you do conceive there would it be fair to name the baby after the city? I'm not so sure.

weimy · 20/05/2011 20:47

I'm with you fingers!!!!

CD3 Cycle 7 TTC 1

Just got a cb digital moniter, will see how that goes.

On the up the devil pup did three perfect retrieves at training and we got a round of applause, we are getting there at last!!!!

TigerseyeMum · 21/05/2011 17:24

Hello Frolickers. I popped back on to see how you all were. I took 5 months off ttc but might get 'back in the saddle' iyswim.

I stopped counting days etc after my 40 day marathon stretch cycle ending at midnight New Year's Eve, think I just got fed up with it after 6 months of counting and timing and making the effort.

Plus work got stupidly busy and 12 hour days and ttc do not go together.

I am a bit ambivalent about the whole thing atm, I can't see how a full on madly busy job and pregnancy/childbirth go well together. Pregnant women in the NHS seem to either disappear or vastly reduce their hours after giving birth. Promotion prospects turn to a big fat zero. So I am a tad confused about the whole thing.

Anyway, sorry to be gone so long then run in and dump. Not being here was part of the whole avoidance thing. Sorry.

Hope you are all well and fertile though.

MollyDefoe · 23/05/2011 13:17

Hi all!

Sorry, it feels like it's been ages since I've been on here - I hope you don't mind me jumping back onto the thread. Had an early mc a couple of weeks ago, in the midst of a completely shit 10 days. I think I've been quite depressed since then, but things are starting to feel brighter, and DP and I have bought a beautiful new house and will be moving city in about a month's time, so that all feels really exciting. TTC-wise, I'm in the middle of a completely WTF cycle! On CD19 (I usually ov around CD18), and fertility monitor has been reading 'high' since CD9! Lots of EWCM, but who knows what's happening. Am just trying to chill out and not get too stressed by the whole thing. It sounds like things have been pretty difficult and depressing for lots of people on the thread too - I'm afraid I haven't had time to catch up on everything, but hugs to all, and I hope you're all ok. It's nice to be back!

CaveMum · 23/05/2011 22:18

Excuse me for a second:

AARRRGGGGHHHHHH!

Another couple we know have just announced they are expecting their first child Sad. I know, I know, I should be happy for them (they're not close friends) but it just feels so unfair [slaps self]

LateToTheTTCParty · 24/05/2011 08:03

ConfusedConfusedConfusedConfusedConfusedConfused
I'm CD11, PeriodTracker says I'm due to ov on Sat (CD16, sounds reasonable), DH got me to poa ov stick and there were 2 lines! How can I be surging so early?! Is it a 'real' surge?! Did it again this morning and there's a second line again - temp has also dropped... I have a short-ish cycle anyway (26-ish days), is this one going to be extra short? Thank goodness for DH, otherwise I might have missed it! Wink

Molly, so sorry about your mc, I hope everything settles down quickly with your cycle Smile

Cave, other people conceiving is soooooo annoying isn't it! Particularly when they tell you they hadn't really been trying, or they've been so amazingly lucky and it only took them 2 months... grrrrrr! Envy

I'm supposed to be going to Barcelona on Thursday... if the stupid volcanic ash cloud doesn't get in the way Angry

St4rfish · 24/05/2011 14:39

Hi all - been an absolute age since I posted. Will second CaveMum's comment about trying not to spend too much time on here (was making me paranoid/obsessive about my fertility, or lack of it) and will also second Imps re. the timing/quantity issue. I have a friend who claims she had sex every day for a month in order to conceive her second - either this is an outrageous lie or my sex drive needs serious attention!

So, its CD2, Cycle 4 (already!) for me. Am off to Manchester this weekend so will be taking the advice of EvilGiraffe & Fingers and drinking lots of beer and gin! Hope everyone is having a good day :)

JosieSmith1 · 24/05/2011 20:06

Evening everyone

Good to see you again Tigerseye and Molly hope you are both feeling better

Can't say I'm too 'into' the whole TTC thing at the moment. We've decided to spend some of the money we've saved on doing our garden up cos it's an awful mess at the moment! It won't be amazing and we'll have to do it all ourselves but we'll be able to sit in it and have barbies etc. Actually, come to think of it, it will be amazing! Grin

Someone at work said her friend (34) has just split up with her long term bf, she's been told she'll need IVF if she wants to have kids and that she'll have to have her first lot before she's 36 so she's devastated that she'll probably never have kids Sad Someone else I know has just had an op in hosp as she can't conceive her second. It's slightly comforting to think that there are people out there that I actually know in real life with the same problems as us.

The pg girl is on leave and she brought her daughter in last week, I'm sure she was trying to upset me but it didn't work, ha, cowbag Grin She's a beautiful little girl and did make me a bit broody but I refused to shy away from it and it wasn't too hard this time round Smile

Hope everyone is ok

Anyway

raspberrytipple · 25/05/2011 07:24

Hello guys,

Just seen Josie/cavey's message and wanted to say that I'd been in a similar position with a friend in the last couple of weeks. She emailed two weeks ago with a piccie of her 12 week scan (her second) and when we went for dinner I had assumed it would be the usual oh well we thought we'd have a second and wham bam.... but no, they had never used contraception again since their first (who is now 4) and it took them 5 years to get pregnant with him. They had just been for all the tests under the sun and were waiting for sperm results to come back when she found out they were updiffed again.

I also met with an old work colleague for lunch yesterday and she brought her gorgeous little 8 week old boy with her, so cute and made me desperately broody but I'd rather be around babies than not ifswim. She is one of the 'one wink and its cooking' brigade. I have so many friends now who have little ones its just making me so desperate but I think I'm coping quite well!

Hugs to everyone xx

LucyLasticNeeGrumbler · 25/05/2011 08:21

Morning ladies - sorry for the long absence - have had a horrible week, a dear friend of mine passed away very suddenly, funeral yesterday. Huge number of people turned out, which was lovely but still feeling a little shellshocked.

Hope the advice re gin and beer is accurate as we will be away on a short break for shag week this month - will try to be back on form by then! Just hope my body behaves itself and doesn't OV early as OH will be working away all weekend this weekend so it's next week or nothing!!!

Feeling the pain of all those who have friends with babies/bumps - I think there is a bit of a rush on at the moment, everywhere I turn I see super-fertile people! Just keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be joining them soon! Catching this month would give us March babies - perfect timing as no hot weather to contend with while super-big! Staying positive!!!

Big waves to everybody out there! Enjoy the sunshine today x

weimy · 26/05/2011 22:58

Hi All!

CD 9/10 not poas yet as monitor has not asked yet, maybe tomorrow. Half term next week so if ov then I should be chilled :)

Hope you are all well x

Cloclo15 · 27/05/2011 19:31

Hi all - we had our appt at the hospital on Weds and are about to have a whole bunch of tests done before going back at the start of July. My progesterone result was too low so I am having more bloods done to see if it is low again. I think if it is I might have to go on Clomid, even though the doctor is pretty certain I am ovulating. I had my scan though and everything came out fine with that, though my uterus is apparently tilted back, but don't think that should have an effect on ttc. Lots of little follicles on my ovaries, I even got to look at one ovary on the screen, bit too early to spot a dominant follicle but the nurse thought one looked slightly bigger :)

Half term now, should be ovulating this time next week, but I have to say I'm not holding out much hope having found out my hormone levels are wrong. Still, stranger things have happened at sea!

TigerseyeMum · 27/05/2011 23:28

I've got no idea when I am ovulating now, my periods went all over the place this winter. It's all so difficult, everyone on here sems to be trying so hard yet it is the one thing we can't bring under our control.

weimy · 28/05/2011 00:21

FX Cloclo :)

tigerseye I know what you mean xxx

JosieSmith1 · 28/05/2011 01:02

So sorry to hear about your friend Lucy

Hope you can start to understand you cycle Tigerseye

And yey for follicle Clo

Well I didn't get the job I went for and although I'm disappointed I wasn't really expecting to get it after the intervew, but at least I can get feedback and do even better next time

My best mate who's getting married in July just walked out on her fiance Sad She's back now but I'm really really worried about them. Will just have to wait and see I suppose. She says if things don't get better the wedding's off and I believe her Confused

Anyway, I know I haven't been around much lately but I will keep in touch I promise Smile

TigerseyeMum · 28/05/2011 09:31

We will be on holiday roughly when we should be ttc this month. Let's see if Aphrodite can do something for us Grin

Sorry about the job Josie but it just means something better is around the corner.

My partner has been under threat of redundancy for the last 6 months (that may have had something to do with putting us off ttc!) and he is in the final stages of being reinterviewed for a lesser job. Fingers crossed. He will take a third salary cut so we are really doing the whole ttc thing at completely the wrong time Hmm
