I mean "Roll on Cycle 5", duh!

TomboyWife · 17/04/2011 15:45

Aw, that sucks Late. Sad

Here, have a Wine or several. (Or have you had too much Wine after the wedding?)

LateToTheTTCParty · 17/04/2011 16:19

Plenty of Wine last night thanks Tomboy Grin

Cloclo15 · 17/04/2011 16:31

Oh Late, never mind. I was sure you would get your BFP today. I'm still on the interminable spotting stage, hopefully AF will show up tomorrow.

Having fun watching hubby do the garden this afternoon and generally chilling, I'm determined that I AM ovulating, maybe I just made a slightly crappy egg this month!

weimy · 17/04/2011 20:23

late I'm sorry :(

cloclo please don't think that at all, the others are right with their advice. Only tell the in laws if you want don't feel pressured xx

9 dpo nothing but tender breasticles to report.

Cloclo15 · 17/04/2011 20:45

Thanks weimy, I feel a lot more philosophical about it all now. Haven't told in laws yet, feel happier that way at the moment.

Meanwhile mild cramps are starting and I think af is on it's way any minute, it'll be tomorrow if it isn't today!

Cloclo15 · 17/04/2011 20:58

By the way, for those of you temping, is it ok to take your temps orally? My thermometer is telling me to take it rectally but don't think Ivan face that every morning!

LateToTheTTCParty · 17/04/2011 22:06

Cloclo, I do mine orally, but I think Imps has found taking her temp fadgily more consistent. I think I might do the same this month

Imps7 · 18/04/2011 07:24

Oh Late boooo booooo boooooooo!! Sorry 'twas not your month. I will join you in Cycle 5 shortly!

I have to say that taking temps fadgily has been much better. Never thought I'd see the day where I considered it normal and acceptable to shove a thermometer up my fadge on a daily basis - what one does in the name of TTC, eh? I started on Monday 11 April - you can see how much more consistent they've been since then, so I'm sticking with it.

I think my temps rises have been due to a weekend of much fun, frivolity and drinking. Being a little dehydrated must affect your BBT mustn't it?

Another lovely day today - why can't I sit in the garden all day instead of going to work?

Imps7 · 19/04/2011 11:16

Hello everyone!! - quiet in here at the moment. I can only assume that most of you are enjoying the run up to Easter and are spending time away from work/laptop. If that's the case, I'm not jealous of you much at all. Who wouldn't want to be at work when all their colleagues are off and the sun is shining [sarcastic emoticon]

I can feel the onset of ERTD - looking forward to it arriving so that I can crack on with cycle 5. No sore boobs yet but they didn't appear until a few days before ERTD last time. Isn't it funny how normal ERTD symptoms change every single month? In January I had incredibly painful nip from around CD 20; in February my nips were fine but I had very sore boob sides from CD25; last month I had slightly tender boob sides and nips from CD 28 or so, and this month, so far, nothing. Really odd - no wonder we do our heads in trying to spot an early pregnancy!

Hope everyone's doing okay.

JosieSmith1 · 19/04/2011 11:32

Morning everyone

Not a lot to report here, I'm still poorly sick, it's moved onto my chest now so I'm not much better than I was this time last week Sad I've given up on cycle 10 as I've been too ill to do much frolicking (managed one pitiful one Grin)

Pg colleague has gone into hospital today as she's been bleeding and it's bright red Confused (that's my worried face) Her and her DH are both rhesus negative, which makes no sense to me but I don't think it's good. She's been quite ill recently with this cold, gastrointestinal sickness bug off her daughter and bad vertigo so I hope it hasn't had a bad effect on the baby.

Sorry ERTD got you Late

OP posts:
MollyDefoe · 19/04/2011 11:48

Hi Josie - rhesus negative refers to her blood group. If you're rhesus positive (as about 85% of Europeans are), then you have a certain protein attached to your blood cells. Rhesus negative blood doesn't have this. There can be complications in pregnancy if the mother is rhesus negative, but the baby is rhesus positive (ie. if it inherits its blood group from its rhesus positive Dad). If some of the baby's blood gets into the mother's bloodstream, it can start producing antibodies against the baby - trying to reject it. But I wouldn't have thought there'd be any problem if both partners are rhesus negative (it can sometimes make it harder to find compatible blood for a blood transfusion, but that's it, I think). I really hope your colleague is OK, though.

MollyDefoe · 19/04/2011 11:51

And I hope you feel ok too! There are some nasty bugs around at the moment. Sorry yours has been lingering for such a long time :(

Imps7 · 19/04/2011 13:23

Sorry you're feeling so yucky Josie. Have you got some antibiotics? Have a Brew and hope you feel better soon.

I also hope that your colleague is okay. Must be a very scary time for her.

CaveMum · 19/04/2011 13:46

Hello all, I'm still here!
DH and I had a nice weekend of puttering about the house and garden trying to get it all ready to go on the market.
We also delivered DH's sample to the hospital yesterday. Poor DH, it's not a dignified process for them!
My first appointment is on Thursday, for my HSG. I've then got a 10 day wait for a follow up appointment with my consultant. We'll know what steps to take once both our results are in.

I was a little confused, in a good way, yesterday. It was cycle day 14 for me and there were some distinct symptoms going on - pant snot, stabbing pains in my nether regions and, to put it bluntly, I was feeling pretty horny! Could my body be starting to function properly?!
Sadly we could not act on things as I'm not allowed unprotected sex in the run up to my test - they will be flushing my uterus and tubes to check for blockages so any little eggs will just get washed straight out again.

Ho hum! I'm focusing on enjoying the sunshine and the short weeks of work ahead!

JosieSmith1 · 19/04/2011 14:16

Sounds promising Cave, that's the sort of signs I usually get.

Thanks Molly and Imps, no I haven't got antibiotics but if it doesn't let up soon I'll be off to the docs. I usually get over colds/coughs pretty quick so it's not normal for me to still be quite ill after a week

OP posts:
Imps7 · 19/04/2011 14:36

Hurrah for pant snot, stabbing pains and having the horn!! Hopefully not too long before you can put all of those things to good use Cavemum!

Sounds like it could be a chest infection Josie

JosieSmith1 · 19/04/2011 14:59

I think so too Imps, although my cough isn't too bad, it's quite constant and I feel like someone is sitting on my chest [not impressed face]

OP posts:
weimy · 19/04/2011 19:39

Af on her way :(

LateToTheTTCParty · 19/04/2011 20:25

Oh dear weimy, bad luck Sad

ERTD finished for me today, PeriodTracker has me fertile again from Easter Monday, and I say BRING IT ON!!! Was feeling a bit blue and a bit of a failure (as was DH), but we've dusted ourselves off and are all revved up for another go. One good thing about not getting up the duff this month is that Baby Late will not be arriving smack in the middle of Chrimbo!

Hope the sunshine and short weeks banish away the sickness and the ERTD Blues for everyone. Grin

weimy · 19/04/2011 22:33

Thanks late and good luck with the swi fest!!

CaveMum · 20/04/2011 07:20

Morning all. Sorry ERTD got you weimy.

Late, I think you've got the right idea - look for the positives! As I see it, we can all now enjoy Christmas being pregnant and pampered rather than worrying about junior putting in an appearance!

Another day of lovely sunshine - enjoy it, this may be our Summer!

Imps7 · 20/04/2011 16:06

What gorgeous weather this is!! Love it. Agree with your advice to make the most of it Cavemum - I've said for years that April is the new August!

Well ERTD is imminent - have got those irritating twanging feelings in my uterus that signals its arrival - no idea what causes those. Hope it comes today or tomorrow - firstly so that I can get on with cycle 5, and secondly because it would be my second short (30/31 day) cycle in a row! Those extra 4 days I'm saving off previous cycles make all the difference to my impatience levels!!

Re: Chrimbo baby Late, I find myself thinking of baby timing quite a lot. I think that this time of year would be perfect to drop a little one - lovely weather, no worries about not being able to get to hospital because of snow etc, baby will still be sleeping a lot for Wimbledon viewing etc. Of course it goes without saying that I would be incredibly grateful to receive a baby at any time of the year but if I could have everything my way I would sign up for a late March/early April slot. So if someone could sort that out for me that would be very much appreciated, thank you.

Hope you're feeling less Sad today Weimy. Here's a nice homemade chocolate muffin to help make you feel a bit better.

JosieSmith1 · 20/04/2011 16:18

Sorry to everyone who's been had by ERTD Sad

I keep thinking that I would rather be pg over winter as I don't do much with horsey in winter, whereas we do more in summer so if I was pg over summer I'd miss out. That's what I keep telling myself anyway. Anyway, I am writing off cycle 10 so got 2 more to go then will be going to docs for blood tests Envy (that's my queasy face Grin)

Pg colleague texted yesterday to say she'd had a scan and the baby was moving and had a good heartbeat so she was feeling better, but she's had another red bleed again this morning so she's been back off to docs. They did loads of swabs and tests but not a scan, and said everything came back ok but she's still worried understandably. Anyway, I have been the bigger person and offered to be her shoulder to cry on if she needs to talk about it. Yay me Grin

Hi all, thought I'd drop in quickly even though I've tried to ban myself from the Internet!

Af finally arrived in full force this morning after 5 days of spotting, making a (for me) long cycle of 32 days and making me think my day 21 test was done WAY too early :/ I know stress can delay ovulation, but can it delay AF too? I would have thought this wasn't possible!

Sorry for everyone who has AF - cycle 6 for me now, onwards and upwards!
