Imps, temp was slightly higher than yesterday....! Grin
This cycle really seems to be sticking to the rule book, it couldn't be any more textbook if it tried! One more SWI tonight and then I think I'll leave DH alone for a bit & let him get his strength back Wink

CaveMum · 03/04/2011 19:46

Evening all, just stopping in to say no sign of anything as yet! It's 48 hours since my last pill and the Dr said it would take 2-3 days for ERTD to show up so hoping it will be anytime soon. I'm feeling a bit crampy and emotional so hoping that's a good sign!

Feeling a bit down in the dumps this evening: DH and I went to look at a new housing development near to us and I've fallen in love with them! Unfortunately there are only 4 houses left and 2 of them are out of our price range Sad Even though we plan to put our house on the market at the end of April/beginning of May, I cant see that we'd be in a position to move fast enough for this development. DH has left to go back to his base so I think I'll have to console myself with an Easter Egg Wink

Hope all is well with everyone :)

Imps7 · 04/04/2011 08:11

Oh dear Cavemum how frustrating! How quickly have the houses been sold? Is there a chance that one of the others could still be available until April?? Sorry no sign of ERTD yet - hopefully it will arrive today.

Had a positive on my OPK yesterday and was all set for a day of shagging, but OH was "too tired" and then felt "under too much pressure". Grrrr!! Oh well, no temperature rise this morning so hopefully OV won't happen until tomorrow - there's a chance OH may not be too tired or under too much pressure tonight, if I'm lucky Hmm

Does anyone else's OH get performance anxiety during the fertile period, or is it just mine??

CaveMum · 04/04/2011 08:23

Morning Imps, it is possible but I doubt it - there are only 8 houses in the development and the 4 that have sold so far have been snapped up in the last 6 weeks. The development won't be ready till June at the earliest but it is proving very popular! I say 4 of the houses have sold, but technically they have not signed any contracts as yet, so there is always a chance someone could pull out.

No sign of ERTD yet, but I woke up several times in the night dripping in sweat - a good sign of imminent arrival for me Grin

Imps I've heard of other peoples partners suffering from performance anxiety, so it seems pretty common. Can you not tell him that you are OVing and try to get into the habit of SWIing every other day as a matter of standard?

Imps7 · 04/04/2011 08:37

Hi Cavemum! Definitely a chance someone may pull out - is there a list that you can put yourself on for available houses? I've not bought a new build before so not sure how it works. Fingers crossed for you - I know the pain that house buying can cause.

It doesn't seem to be the fact of OV that puts OH off - it's more the fact that we're not having a shag just for fun, but for a functional purpose that puts him off. Therefore, if we have a SWI-every-two-day-rule I think he would still feel under pressure because the spontaneity/fun has been replaced by the task of baby making. Does that make any sense?? I would be quite happy to just SWI as and when the mood takes us as we also did before TTC, but the problem is that sometimes the mood won't take us for a few days - if that happens over OV then we'll miss our chance for that month. Although that said, if I try to suggest that we SWI when he's not in the mood it invariably won't happen anyway - so I guess we're in no different position one way or the other!!

Oh well, we're not in any particular rush for this to happen - and I still have my kitchen that I'm saving for so another month, another bit in the savings pot :)

CaveMum · 04/04/2011 10:10

[Dashes in before anyone at work notices]

She?s arrived Grin Never thought I?d be so happy to see ERTD!

Imps, unfortunately, as the houses are proving so popular they are only accepting reservations on the properties from people who are proceedable (i.e have no house to sell or have a firm offer on their own property). Even if we put our house on the market at the end of April it could take months before we get an offer Sad

[dashes back out again]

Imps7 · 04/04/2011 10:10

Yay Cavemum!!!

Fingerscrossed1 · 04/04/2011 10:17

Imps rest assured that you and OH are not alone! OH and I look forward to a time when we can do it when the moods takes us. He has felt under pressure before now so I don't tell him when the fertile period is. I feel pressure too (even though I don't have to produce anything as it were!) and it does take the fun out of it somewhat, all part of the joys of TTC!

Imps7 · 04/04/2011 10:23

I agree Fingers and I'm really cross with myself that it annoys me - I'd promised myself at the that I wouldn't get obsessed with the process and that we'd only shag because we want to, not just because I'm ovulating etc etc etc - it's sooooo much easier said than done though!!

I've hit myself with a kipper now though and am going to chill and forget about it. Although tonight would be a good night for SWI...

Imps7 · 04/04/2011 10:23

*at the start

weimy · 04/04/2011 16:35

Yay cavemum what a relief!

Imps I know exactly what you mean, maybe you could not tell him but just pounce on him?

I'm just about to ov going by previous cycles so am pestering OH at the mo myself, but tbh I'm not sure how bothered I am I think I'm getting a bit tired.

Cloclo15 · 04/04/2011 18:15

I know what you mean weimy - I don't really have the not trying problem with my OH but the excitement has gone out of the whole process - it's becoming a bit mechanical and I just expect to get my period now rather than thinking there is a chance I could be pg each month :(

phooey · 04/04/2011 18:17

Sorry not been posting much, I don't feel like I'm ttc until in the 2ww and the sense of impending ERTD hope makes me want to snuggle up to you lot!

Only on cycle 2, and instead of getting more technical I'm trying to think about it less. DH is definitely suffering from performance anxiety too Sad

Been lurking daily though. Fx to those top of the list.

CaveMum · 04/04/2011 18:24

Well, the hospital appointment is booked - 21st April Angry Typical isn't it - we get things working and the consultant buggers off on holiday! How selfish can you get Wink

LateToTheTTCParty · 04/04/2011 18:27

Good news Cavemum, glad it's all going to plan!

Imps, yesterday was my last 'fertile' day (and my temp stayed up, whoop whoop!) but DH and I just couldn't be bothered with more SWI, having done it 4 times in 6 days we were both totally over it! You can only do so much, if it doesn't feel right for both of you then it's not going to be the best experience and will only put one or both of you off the next time. I think, once you start TTC and it actually becomes SWI, it changes it regardless of what time of the month you do it.

I'm in the 2ww now, 12 days until AF is due. Trying my hardest NOT to symptom-spot or get my hopes up (or talk them down, coz I'm good at doing that too)

LateToTheTTCParty · 04/04/2011 18:31

I took too long to post Cavemum and crossed with yours (phonecall!) - it'll be the 21st before you know it and hopefully it will be worth the wait... gotta love our NHS Wink. I'm getting excited for you!

Imps7 · 04/04/2011 20:17

I think that the temp charting is definitely helping me - I'm really glad that I started doing it. I love the certainty of knowing exactly where I am in my cycle, rather than spending weeks thinking "Am I ovulating today? How many DPO am I? Should I test yet??" It may have made me obsess more about SWI yesterday and today, given that OV is today or tomorrow, but last cycle I was obsessing about SWI for well over a week on the off chance that I may be ovulating!!

But, having had a firm word with myself today I shall be less sex obsessed from now on ( Grin ) and just let things happen.

21 April will fly around Cavemum - just think, Wills and Kate won't even be married by then!

weimy · 04/04/2011 21:07

21st will be here very soon cavemum

CaveMum · 04/04/2011 21:38

Thanks all Wine

TomboyWife · 04/04/2011 22:11

Imps I've found that DH is much less stressed about the whole SWI thing if I just do what weimy suggests and jump him without telling him why. Even if he knows why, being explicitly told is like a cold shower for him.

Hooray for AF Cavey!

I'm also in the midst of AF, having been got yesterday with almost no notice, 3 days early. And I was having such promising symptoms too. Bah. Sad Guess DH is going to have to jizz in a cup again, and I'm going to have to give up day 2 and 21 blood (also again).

I'll update the list in a sec.

Imps7 · 05/04/2011 08:05

Morning everyone!

Well last night I didn't mention anything at all about babies/SWI/fertile period/OV/cervical mucous (!) and just let things happen. OH just couldn't do it though Sad He said he was just feeling so nervous Sad So I told him that it really didn't matter and he shouldn't feel so bad about it as fertile period is already over for this month so we were just shagging for fun rather than anything else - he said he wished he'd known that at the start as it would have been easier for him!

I told him this morning that perhaps we should take the next couple of months off as we have a nice holiday booked in June and it would be nice to have a drink. He was happy with this, so hopefully the pressure will be off.

What I didn't tell him of course is that my temps are still low today so OV hasn't happened yet! Hopefully we'll have a nice no-pressure shag this evening and if he thinks that he doesn't have to come up with the goods (so to speak Grin) then he will.

Honestly, I really never thought that if we had trouble conceiving it would be because OH can't keep it up during fertile period Sad. I clearly just have to avoid mentioning anything to do with TTC to him at all until I get pg (if I am lucky enough to do so). Thank god I can share everything with you lot instead :)

Tomboy sorry about ERTD. Are you going to go back to your GP?

JosieSmith1 · 05/04/2011 08:48

Just a quick post - had an absolutely amazing weekend! I went with the yard that text me on friday, the one I originally wanted, and haven't looked back. No regrets leaving the other yard, best thing I ever did. They have a tea room, called the 'Snug' and I've sat in there, in front of the wood fire, watching tv, in a rocking chair with a Brew Loving every minute! And the horse has settled really really well, better than I ever imagined SmileSmile I am possibly the happiest person alive right now, oh, and ERTD arrived on Saturday, can't say I'm that bothered for a change Grin
