It is very hard to actually get to the toilets when I'm in school, if I'm not on break duty I'm doing a lunchtime club.

Welcome back tomboy!!!

josie you go girl!!!!

Cloclo15 · 30/03/2011 17:10

I know, I have to run in at lunchtime or quickly at lesson changeover time. It's not a time to be poas when year 11 are lining up outside!

I test with the opk when I get home from work, about 6.30-7pm - the guidance notes said you can do it between 10am-8pm...

So, I'm on CD12 and yesterday tried cheapo strip and expensive stick together - cheapo strip gave a straight negative, expensive stick was a negative but with a feint second line.... Hmm! Wonder if expensive stick is picking up LH surge well in advance? I'm due to ov on Sat so would expect the surge to show up either today or tomorrow. The Experiment continues Wink

My temp has remained pretty consistent over these last 12 days - does it dip the day you ov and then rise the day after? I have also been analyzing the 'pant snot', ewwwww! (I usually ignore it, but I think it was Truffkin who brought it to my attention!) It went a bit far though, last night, when we had omlettes for supper.....!!! Grin

DH is taking Fertile Week very seriously - I half think he has SWI scheduled in his diary...! Grin I'm feeling ok about things so far this cycle, it definitely feels more normal than the last one. I really hope I pick up when I ovulate, otherwise I'm going to have another wobble and, while I'm feeling quite chilled during this Fertile Week because it's all still to play for, I know it's going to be hard to maintain that attitude through the 2ww!

JosieSmith1 · 31/03/2011 14:34

My friend got back to me and said it was fab and I should be proud of myself SmileSmile So it's gone off, with a few amendements provided by my friend Grin

I'm having a manic day today! Put my horse in a different stable in the yard to see how she settled but she was trying to jump over the door so I had to rush up this morning and put her in the field, DH is at a&e as he's got something in his eye (he's such a wimp when it comes to eyes), work is completely manic with everyone wanting money so I had to make a quick trip to the bank, had a big discussion about my depression, now I'm back, and only just getting my lunch. Phew. Have ordered straw for saturday, so I've gotta go to new yard and pay for it tonight, then lay her bed in the new stable, then my car is in for it's mot on monday, god knows how much that'll cost. So it's all go, which is taking my mind off the fact that I'm at day 28.....

Yay!!! fx josie

Envy i would love a horse!!!

LateToTheTTCParty · 31/03/2011 15:04

Oooooo Josie! FX for you!

CaveMum · 31/03/2011 16:44

Late I don't think your temperature dips prior to ovulation but it will rise after OV. A sustained rise for more than 3 days indicates ovulation.
The only problem with temping is that it cannot tell you you are about to ovulate, it can only tell you after it has happened.
You need to build up a picture of your cycle over a few months as (hopefully) you will see a pattern - e.g. always ovulate between day 11 and 13.

Josie hope horsie settles in for you and well done on putting in the application. Fingers crossed for you in every sense Grin

rimmer08 · 31/03/2011 17:03

sorry am book marking this for future use, is this bad manners ?

Cloclo15 · 31/03/2011 17:14

Well my opk was negative again this morning, I'm thinking I might get a positive on Sat (day 15) if it's anything like last month. No other signs of ov at all yet though so wondering if it might be later.
It's my birthday tomorrow, I'm 29, not sure whether to have a drink or not as I'm so close to ovulating. What do you think?

MollyDefoe · 31/03/2011 17:18

Hi Cloclo! I think a birthday drink is essential !

CaveMum · 31/03/2011 17:36

rimmer welcome aboard! Not bad manners at all, but dont feel you have to wait till you are actually TTC to contribute to this thread!

Cloclo definitely have a birthday drink or 3! As has been said in the past you cannot do any harm to a potential embryo unless there is a placenta present (I think this is about 5 or 6 weeks). Enjoy your birthday!

MollyDefoe · 31/03/2011 18:05

It was my bday about two-and-a-half weeks ago, exactly the day I should have ov'd. I had a weird stomach bug, but valiantly drank through it, and celebrated in a pretty boozy style. Alcohol always makes my temperature shoot up the next morning, and indeed it did: so I assumed I'd ov-ed, and we stopped SWI. BUT it seems now that the stomach bug delayed ovulation by 4 days, which was masked by my boozy temperatures. So at first I got very excited about lack of arrival of AF - but when AF arrived today, 4 days late, I realised what had happened. So this is just a long-winded way of saying the booze won't hurt the egg at this stage, but it might confuse your temps (if you're charting)!

Imps7 · 31/03/2011 18:24

Welcome Rimmer08 - not bad manners to bookmark, but even if it were you would still be welcome :)

Cavemum - how are things with you? And sign of ERTD-type stuff yet??

I would definitely have a drink despite ovulation CloClo - in fact, I'm having one now (lovely glass of red - bit early perhaps at 6:20pm, but I've had a nightmare of a day and just needed it). I had no idea that alcohol had such an effect on temping/ov time Molly - nightmare - I think I will have enough trouble interpreting my temps as it is, so I'm pleased I've already cut down so much on drink.

I'm on day 10 and I think I might be starting to enter fertile period (whoop whoop!) - tiny bit of wet CM today. I'm really hoping that OV is on Sunday or Monday as OH and I will have plenty of shagging opportunities over the weekend - it's always so much more difficult during the week! That said, we've done pretty well this week although we just couldn't manage it last night, try as we might Grin

Interesting to see your experiment update Late - all my cheapo dipsticks have come back negative so far this week, although that's probably more to do with the fact that I've been nowhere near OV, rather than them not working properly!

Right, I'm off to catch up on Masterchef.

CaveMum · 31/03/2011 18:31

Imps thanks for asking Grin
I've just taken my last pill (3 a day for 7 days) so fingers crossed ERTD will show up at some point in the next few days - if it's anything like when I was on the Pill she'll show up about 48 hours after the last tablet, so perhaps Sunday night/M

CaveMum · 31/03/2011 18:33

Arghh stupid iPhone! As I was saying, around about Sunday night/Monday morning. I've then got to call the hospital to book my HSG test.
Fingers crossed it's a speedy path to my BFP!

Imps7 · 31/03/2011 18:34

I hope so Cavemum - we need another run of them on this thread!

Cloclo15 · 31/03/2011 19:24

Ok, think I will have a drink or two then - I'm not really a big drinker, I've had a about three alcoholic beverages in the last month, so giving up isn't that hard for me - but it is nice to have one on your birthday, plus we have hubby's family coming round and I think they might get suspicious if I don't - he doesn't want to tell them until we are actually pregnant.

My mum, on the other hand, has pretty much known we were trying from the start! There was no way I wasn't going to talk to her about it. She is like the voice of reason when I start going mental about it all!

LateToTheTTCParty · 31/03/2011 19:36

CloClo, go on, have a drink! Grin Wine

This is the only time I'll keep my fingers crossed for a speedy ERTD Cavemum, but I hope she shows up on time so you can get going on the next stage Wink

Imps, latest on the Experiment is that BOTH are showing positive for the surge this evening! Conclusion: although Expensive Stick looked like it picked a hint of it up a little earlier, both are showing 2 strong lines at the same time, so I think we can trust the Cheapo Strips Grin.

I had very mild ERTD-like cramps for a couple of hours today, specifically on the right side - I've never been one of those people who know that they're ovulating, but now I'm hyper-aware of every little thing my body's doing I wonder whether that was, in fact, it. Hmm I'm interested to see what my temp does in the next couple of days, the first month of charting it is really quite exciting, isn't it!

DH & I SWIed last night, now in a bit of a quandry about whether to go for it again tonight, or wait til tomorrow when the swimmers are better quality?

Imps7 · 31/03/2011 19:48

Lovin' the SWI dilemma Late!! You don't want to use the good'uns up too soon, but then you don't want to miss OV...can you do both, on the basis that the good swimmers will probably hang around for a while?

So glad to hear that the cheapo sticks work!! My credit card has just given a huge sigh of relief!

Cloclo15 · 31/03/2011 21:18

I think you should go for it both days Late - seeing as you know you are targeting it around the right time with your LH surge detected, you want to make sure there are as many swimming around as you can!

Which day of your cycle are you on?

LateToTheTTCParty · 31/03/2011 21:27

Well, I'm up for it, but DH has decided that it's all about quality over quantity, so we wait until tomorrow... He's also read on t'internet that morning sperm is best of the lot, so I think that means we're on for Sat morning as well Grin

LateToTheTTCParty · 31/03/2011 21:31

CloClo I'm on CD12 of approx 26

Cloclo15 · 31/03/2011 21:34

Good luck then - I think when we get the surge we are just going to go for it, I'm planning on persuading OH tonight as well even though I am quite clearly not fertile yet, every little helps!

Imps7 · 31/03/2011 22:05

Late I think it's so sweet that your DH has been doing research on t'interweb and giving loads of thought to the best SWI timings!!
