Hi there, think the list is updated wrong this time - I'm on cd 3 now!

Feeling a bit more positive today - had a really down couple of weeks thinking it would never happen! Off to docs later to get a few things checked out although I know it's just for reassurance really. Everyone i know seems to get their BFP either first or second go so I'm starting to wonder if there is something wrong with me, especially as I was not even on birth control before we started so in theory I should have found it easier :(

LateToTheTTCParty · 21/03/2011 13:18

Sorry Cloclo, too much to hope I'd get 100% the first time I did it Grin

truffkin i too took a further 4 tests after my 3 BFP's - 1 each day for 4 days "just in case" Blush

I second truff try not to POAS too early as i did that and got BFN and then my BFP a couple of days later - the day before AF due.

Cloclo15 · 21/03/2011 16:53

Well I just got back from the docs after checking on the short time between ovulating and period (10 days, it's the first time I'd used an opk so hadn't realised before) and she is sending me for Day 21 blood tests. I thought she would just gently reassure me then send me off until a year has passed but it looks like I get to find out if all is ok much sooner than that. Quite surprised!

Imps7 · 21/03/2011 17:54

Hello all

What a nice chatty thread this is!

Cloclo glad your GP was helpful! Hopefully the blood tests will work out so that you can give your full attention to SWI! I know what you mean about wondering if there's something wrong with you if you don't conceive on cycle 1 or 2 - I'm like you - most of my friends have been that lucky and the fact that I haven't been did get me down a little at the end of cycle 2. Putting pressure on yourself to conceive asap or thinking that there's something wrong with you if you don't is just plain daft really so I've tried my very hardest to banish those thoughts from my mind.

Ha ha glad it's not just me sneaking a peek at maternity clothes already! I found myself in the maternity section of Next the other day actually stroking a tunic that I really liked. So glad no colleagues on their lunch break saw me (actually, here's hoping that no colleagues did actually see me!)

I've felt a bit queasy all day today, and I am blaming Scott Mills entirely for this - I woke up when they were talking about people eating eggs - I have a huge dislike of runny egg yolks - the very thought of them turns my stomach - and I have not been able to get the though of them out of my head all day thanks to Scott! A bit random I know, but egg yolks are just minging.

Still BFNs here. I'm quite happy to POAS daily (having stocked up on those ridiculously cheap dipsticks from Amazon) - it means that the whole process of POAS is now a mundane daily chore rather than some big event to get eager and excited about. Am hoping that one day I will get a lovely surprise BFP just when I least expect it! I have slightly sore boobs, and crampy uterus feelings but they are normal for this time in my cycle.

Oh well, onwards and upwards!

Cloclo15 · 21/03/2011 18:25

Thanks Imps7, I know what you mean, trying to clear your head of negativity is def the best thing to do, in fact my doc said that cortisol, a stress hormone, can play havoc with your cycle. I know stress has a big impact on my hormones so I really should try harder to keep calm, but it's easier said than done!
Going to do my best this month though, and also try to stop work getting on top of me too - in fact I'm off to yoga in half an hour so let the zen like calm commence! :)
Hope you get your BFP soon - my periods have been coming so early so far I have hardly had a chance to test at all yet!

weimy · 21/03/2011 18:40

Still got brown stuff. She is coming early, can only hope she hurries up so I can stop feeling so useless and get on with cycle 5. :(

MollyDefoe · 21/03/2011 18:42

Hi all,
Well, I'm on 9dpo of my first 2ww: it's a pretty emotional experience this 2ww thing, isn't it?! I'm a terrible hypochondriac at the best of times, but right now I'm reading way too much into a whole smorgasbord of symptoms! I've had a sort-of carsickness feeling for the last 5 days or so, and for the last 45 mins a stabbing feeling low down in my uterus. My sensible self is telling me to ignore all this and not read anything into it. But my obsessive self is fantasising about maternity leave and new maternity clothes! Any tips for keeping this obsessive self under control?!

phooey · 21/03/2011 18:48

Fingers crossed for you Petal , this is like a soap Grin

We're going for SWIing every 2 days for entire cycle this month. which DH is delighted with. The bit I didn't tell him: I wash my hair every second day, so planning SWI on the nights before I'll be washing it means I won't be annoyed with his messing up of my hair, and can properly get into the swing of things

Clo 5 months isn't that long though, I'm sure the actual average is 6, although like you I feel like everyone I know only needs to look at a penis to get pg Envy what's the 21 Days test?

phooey · 21/03/2011 18:51

weimy could be implantation bleed. Any hints and tips from successful Frolickers on how to spot this? Daiso you had brown blood before your BFP didn't you?

phooey · 21/03/2011 18:55

I haven't looked at maternity clothes exactly but I have bought long stretchy tops to wear with leggings, which look nice anyway but I was practising pushing my tummy out to see how they'd look with a bump Blush

Baby clothes and toys are a whole world of cuteness though!

weimy · 21/03/2011 19:07

'your baby can read' and Italian for children are my guilty pleasures.

Nah phooey she is def on her way I have emotional incontinence again.

phooey · 21/03/2011 19:22

Yeah but yeah but Daiso had that too! She was sure her period was coming!

Living vicariously through Frolickers on their 2ww is almost as nerve-wracking as spotting my own symptoms.

Cloclo15 · 21/03/2011 20:37

21 day test is to check for progesterone levels on that day of your cycle I think - if they are too low it can mean a short luteal phase I think though not entirely sure :/ was very surprised she booked me in for anything at all at this stage - she wasn't going to but changed her mind at the last minute!
5 cycles isn't that long, just feels like it!

You can get implantation spotting I think but don't think it should be heavy or bright red or anything and not last more than a couple of days but seeing as I've never actually had it I could be talking out of my backside here!

JosieSmith1 · 22/03/2011 11:18

Morning everyone

CaveMum I think the person who used an already used pg test may have been me BlushGrin

We have had a SWI marathon this weekend Blush Went to Ann Summers, that is all I am saying Grin but if I?m not pg this time there is nothing more that I can do!

Daiso · 22/03/2011 13:12

Hey ladies

phooey yes i did but my brown spotting was really odd - I think i OV'd on the Weds and got the brown spotting on the Fri/Sat. Therefore too early for Implantation bleed. I haven't had a IB i don't think ( would it have come by now)
I WAS convinced AF was on her way, mainly because i was getting all the symptoms but they are both so similar which can mess with your head a bit.
Ha ha - you sound just like me with the hair messing Grin

ToriaPumpkinHead · 22/03/2011 15:28

What a fertile thread this is!

Congratulations somebeans When you're ready please come and join us on the grads thread Grin

Imps7 · 22/03/2011 19:15

Well it looks like the ERTD has come for me. The fat cow caught me very unprepared - I was wearing my most dainty of pants and being in an all-day training session had no access to either paddage or pluggage. To her credit though (not that she's really due any credit) it's only been a few dribbles so far so damage has been kept to a minimum. Need a new pair of dainty pants though.

On the plus side, I get to use my shiny new OPK dipsticks and thermometer next cycle!! Plus it was never really my preference to have a December baby - too near to Christmas and too many friends/family members with birthdays in Dec. Not that I'm picky or anything!

Josie - lucky DH! Hope you have a great weekend and SWS (shag with success)!

Imps7 · 22/03/2011 19:16

Have they changed MN? It looks a bit different this evening.

phooey · 22/03/2011 19:29

A 2012 baby for you Imps Smile

Yeah my friend's birthday is on Christmas Eve and she gets really pissed off with people forgetting, or not giving her a birthday card/pressie.

I was so shattered hungover last night after entertaining friends who were staying all weekend that despite luring DH for an early night, didn't stay awake long enough to SWI. So much for ever 2 days, blown it already after only 2 SWIs! It's far too early in cycle for useful SWIing but I liked the idea of every second day, and obv DH did. And obviously tonight's out of the question due to hair Grin

Imps7 · 22/03/2011 19:31

Glad you've got your priorities sorted phooey!! Grin

Imps7 · 22/03/2011 19:34

Oh, and looking at my calender, Dec-Jan cycle was 36 days, Jan-Feb cycle was 33 days and Feb-March has been 31 days (32 if it doesn't properly come until tomorrow). We're heading in the right direction - with any luck they'll get shorter and shorter as a 5 week cycle is a killer from an impatience perspective.

phooey · 22/03/2011 19:38
Grin

DH is out tonight so not budging on the hair issue. If it was around ov time, I might consider having my hair mussed and getting all sweaty with a drunken DH, but as I'm on CD10, nah not worth it Wink

LateToTheTTCParty · 22/03/2011 19:38

Imps I'm so with you! Was almost pleased when ERTD arrived on Sunday, she's packed up & gone now and I'm happily taking my temperature, I have all my opk stuff laid out ready for Monday and DH has his schedule... man alive, I'm being so anal about it Grin
And I didn't want a Christmas baby either really, I know we shouldn't be fussy, and you wouldn't have heard a murmur from me if it had happened, but you can't help thinking about these thing can you Wink

Really hoping this is our month Imps! Grin

phooey · 22/03/2011 19:40

I have similarly long and unpredictable cycles Imps , is annoying that we have to wait longer between goes!
