Oh good stuff Cavemum! Nothing worse than not knowing and there's loads that can be done with PCOS.

Wine for you too!

Imps7 · 17/03/2011 11:38

Oh, and I meant to add - I had a nice dream last night that I got a BFP but the line was silver and sparkling and glitter exploded out of the end of the test when the line came up!

Novelty pregnancy tests...there has to be a market for that... [hello Dragon's Den]

Truffkin · 17/03/2011 11:59

Great news CaveMum and sounds like your consultant was worth the wait (although I would have been fuming by that stage!) At last you are able to take some positive action and know you are making a difference.

SomeBeans it might just be too early so don't give up hope yet! Liek you originally said, it would be worth waiting until the weekend to take a test that you could rely on the result from (I got my BFP on 14DPO)

Impers definitely a gap in the market there, I wonder if we could also invent ones that provide a stream of gin from the end when it's a BFN for sorrow drowning!

Happy Shamrock day everyone Grin

somebeans · 17/03/2011 12:07

Imps and Truffkin - can I buy shares in your Novelty pregnancy test business?

I'd waste spend even more money on them if I knew I'd either get a glittery BFP or more likely a Wine (sadly no gin emoticon) :)

cherrycobbler · 17/03/2011 12:20

cavemum - sounds really wierd to say it but v glad you've finally got a diagnosis! Much better than limbo land. Hope the follow up tests are speedy and not too uncomfortable.

daiso congrats on the BFP!!! loving the luckiness of this thread! come and join us on the grads here when you feel ready.

tomboy belated BOO for the BFNs. Hope you're ok.

GLITTER HPTS SOUND AMAZING. Now that's a sure fire Dragons Den winner...

weimy · 17/03/2011 16:01

pleased that you have been diagnosed cavemum what a weight off your mind :)

ToriaPumpkinHead · 17/03/2011 16:20

Glad you finally have a diagnosis Cavey Wine

Daiso Congratulations! See Cherry hsa already posted the link to the grads so see you over there soon.

I am very excited about the prosptect of glittery HPTs...

Josie Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit down again. I don't have any useful advice as I'm my own worst enemy when it comes to similar issues so have a Brew and an easter egg from me and I hope things pick up soon.

LateToTheTTCParty · 17/03/2011 18:34

Glad to hear it went well with the doctor Cavemum, it's amazing when you get to see the right person and it all starts getting better & a lot more hopeful Smile

ERTD still hasn't turned up, I was so sure it was going to this morning but it hasn't & I'm getting very impatient with this 'cycle that won't die' Angry I want to get on with cycle 4.... The basal thermometer has shipped already for goodness sake! (along with some Wellman tablets for DH who wasn't overly enthusiastic with the whole idea...! Grin)

highheelsandequations · 17/03/2011 18:36

Cavemum glad you've finally got some answers. Sometimes the not knowing is the worst part. Sounds like your consultant knows what she's doing as well. My DP had to have all the tests too for the same reasons as you've been given. Assuming the tube test is a HSG, I never actually got round to getting mine but believe they're not too horrible! Hope you get everything started soon and keep up the positive thinking. Don't know if it helped or not but after doing lots of reading about PCOS and fertility I started taking vit B6 and vit D. Hope everything goes well for you.

And congrats to Daiso, see you on the grads thread.

phooey · 18/03/2011 07:26

Cavemum I hope you're doing ok and feeling positive about everything, I know 2 ladies with PCOS who have lovely bouncy toddlers. Knowing what's up must be a relief Smile

Daiso haha I'll forgive you I suppose! Wink am so pleased for you. Please post daily updates on how it feels to be actually knocked up!

evilgiraffe · 18/03/2011 07:40

Glad you've got some answers, Cave.

ERTD arrived late last night, and there were tears, again. Next time someone updates the list, can you change my stats please?

evilgiraffe TTC#1, Cycle 8, UCL 28, CD2

CaveMum · 18/03/2011 07:51

Thanks ladies, it really helps to know you've got people rooting for you Grin

Highheels [waves] lovely to "see" you! Yes, that's what she called it! I've got to call the hospital on the first day of the artificial bleed so that they can book me in for about 10 days later. Without going all TMI on you all, I suspect this bleed that they are going to induce is going to be pretty yucky. As you all know I haven't bled since June, so there's bound to be, how shall I put it, some build up Shock.
Anyway, I've been doing the maths (and totally getting carried away!) and if this all goes according to plan I could meet my aim and get pregnant before my 30th birthday in May!!

Thanks again for all the lovely messages. I'll be off radar for a bit as I'm heading down to my parents later this morning and won't be back till Sunday night. Fingers crossed for everyone who will be POASing this weekend Grin

CaveMum · 18/03/2011 07:53

X-posts with evil, sorry ERTD got you.

Imps7 · 18/03/2011 09:49

Oooh Cavemum - hope there's not too much build-up! You'd think you'd need a sanitary towel the size of a mattress to deal with 9 months' worth of build-up but I'm sure there must be a limit to how much stuff your uterus can make/hold at any one time. Here's hoping it's not as bad as you suspect and fingers very much crossed for you BFP before May!

I'm on day 28 out of 33-35. Have been testing over the last couple of days and getting BFNs as predicted. I don't really mind getting BFNs though. My boobs have only just started to hurt a little bit and I'm having ERTD-type cramps today, but I often have those in the run-up to ERTD so nothing new.

Having a lack of symptoms is so bloody boring!

Evil very sorry to hear about ERTD. Please keep your chin up.

Right, I think I may update the list...here goes...

MollyDefoe · 18/03/2011 09:56

Hi all! Can I join? DP and I are TTC number 1, on first cycle of trying. I've been reading this thread for a few days, and it's a great distraction-from-work activity! And, when we first started talking about trying for a sprog, I had no idea how obsessed with symptom-spotting, charting and the rest of it, I would become! My stats:

MollyDefoe TTC#1 Cycle 1, UCL 31, CD22.

Imps7 · 18/03/2011 10:02

Arg, actually I'll do it later!

Imps7 · 18/03/2011 10:04

Hello Molly and welcome! I will add you to the list when I update it later (unless anyone gets to it first!

LankyLegs · 18/03/2011 10:49

Cave just wanted to say really pleased you finally have a diagnosis my dear. Hope they next couple of months go to plan. Am keeping everything crossed for you! xx

Waves to all the oldies and newbies too!

Becs19 · 18/03/2011 10:53

Hi, I'm new to all this and in some ways not actively trying yet. I took my last pill just under 3 weeks ago and I had the withdrawal bleed within a few days and it finished just over 2 weeks ago. We took the decision to carry on as normal without contraception and then actively start TTC after my first proper period. For the last week I have had a dull ache very low down in my stomach similar to weak period cramps. For the last 3 days I have been feeling squeamish all day but worse in the mornings. I am also very tired and I think I'm going to the toilet more often but this could just be symptom spotting! Anyway, has anyone else had these symptoms when coming off the pill and if so how long did they last? I have taken 2 tests but have had a BFN both times. Although I have done these in the evening. Due to only just coming off the pill I don't know when my period should be or what my cycle is so how long should I wait before testing again? Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

somebeans · 18/03/2011 11:37

Hello all,

, have not POAS today. Was bin day today so ceremoniously hid all my month's POAS action at the bottom of the bag so DH doesn't realise how obsessive I've been this month. No kits of any kind (glitter or not) in the house, I will NOT test until ERTD due on Tue/Wed (apart from maybe on Sunday Blush).

Cavemum please keep us updated on mega ERTD action, I hope it's not too terrible and I'm pleased things are moving forward for you.

Hello Molly and Becs, you're definitely in the right place, Becs if you look back you'll read my 'coming off the pill' scenario. It might be worth buying an OPK after your first ERTD just to reassure yourself that you're ovulating and when.

Imps looks like we are both due ERTD next week so we can both get a BFN BFP together Hmm.

St4rfish · 18/03/2011 12:27

Hello, can I join in too? Have been lurking about reading the whole 10-page back-story and can see that there is plenty of good advice on here - also hoping the luck will rub off!

I am not in the advanced skills group for charting by any means Confused and don't really have time I think for temp charts etc. Just looking back at my cycle lengths they are a bit all over the place (between 26 and 30 days - is this usual?) So can't say what my UCL is, but I am TTC#1, Cycle 1, CD22.

Hi again Becs19 - having come off the pill last year, my advice would be to at least give it another 'cycle' to work out whats going on. My cycle lengths are still quite varied and I've been off the pill for 12 months now (although I was on it for 12 years!)

Thought I'd update it to save you a job Imps and it was nice to add a couple more BFPs plus a new team member!

Late I really hope you get an answer soon, I know how long cycles feel (especially a random one chucked into a usually settled pattern) and it's very Confused and annoying.

Lovely to see Lanky popping in, hope you are ok!

Nearly the weekend ladies and I for one am desperate to see the start of it! I shall be doing as little as possible and hoping to get rid of this cold I have had for the last 3 days. An everchanging blocked up / runny nose and headaches are not fun!

Any exciting plans for the weekend anyone?

JosieSmith1 · 18/03/2011 12:53

Hello everyone

Was training yesterday and it was soooo not fun!! Anyway, I had my say Grin OPKs still say no Confused and I'm not very well - was totally wiped out yesterday and exhausted, I have no appetite, I feel sick at times and I'm getting weird aches in my womb-y region Grin Kipper alert - I'm sooo tempted to POAS just in case ERTD was lying to me Blush I have officially gone mad.

I know I'm not supposed to be her (I just typed snot Grin) but I find it very supportive so I'll stay on until I'm feeling better, then I might take al eave of absence again. I won't add myself to the list as I don't really want to be keeping track that much

Truff I'm getting my hair cut tomorow, then watching the rugby, then nowt Grin What are you up to?

OP posts:
MollyDefoe · 18/03/2011 13:51

I think there's a weird bug around at the moment: for the last 5 days, I've had horrid nausea and stomach cramps, which finally turned into a cold. If it wasn't our first cycle TTC, and I knew that there was no way on earth I could be upduffed, I'd have been quite tempted to POAS too!

Becs - I came off the pill in October and had symptoms very similar to you. But then again, the cramps were almost certainly because I had a coil fitted instead (not a pleasant experience by any means!)

LateToTheTTCParty · 18/03/2011 14:04

Yuk, look at me up there at the top of the list on bally CD32!!!!
No ERTD, no sign of ERTD, no symptoms of ANY kind... (sighs dramatically)

DH has suggested I buy some 'proper' pg tests at Tesco tomorrow (he obviously doesn't trust the cheapo strips!) so I'll do that and see if it says anything different...
