The (updated)(again)(again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you've had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). (But it does work).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.
OV is ovulation - I'm allowed to forget what date I've OVd, feel free to join me on that one!

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Oh and speaking of tampons, my only experience of them was when I was at a drunken teenage party, after drinking a bit too much, I had a drink from a glass of water and didn't realise there was a tampon in it. LUCKILY it wasn't a used tampon, but it was a close call.

(Don't know why there was a tampon in a glass of water either)

crowette · 08/04/2011 01:39

Nah, not too mad at him ... just mildly frustrated!

Not had my birthday shag either, but then I did fall asleep on the sofa during a film. Now we're both awake, he's gaming on my phone and I want to suggest going to bed for JSing, but worried of the rejection and putting pressure on him. I'll never get pregnant at this rate!

caramelgirl · 08/04/2011 07:44

BFP (more faint than fat but still)!! Couldn't wait 'til weekend. DH knows but no-one else IRL until 8 weeks if it lasts that long FX'd.
Wishing you all a happy weekend and lots of JSing
My friend at work, when she was a young and v broke single mum, once found her precious stash of tampons all out over her sofa. Her son was super happy he'd found a family of pet mice and wanted to take to school to show off!

PiggyMad · 08/04/2011 07:57

Morning ladies, thanks for the welcome bam and babylann - had a fab wedding day, even though we did it on a budget. I'm 26 and trying for my first DC and a bit clueless about everything baby and ttc-related. Am taking folic acid and JSing - assuming that's about all I need to be concerned with?!

Congratulations caramelgirl!! Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months!

crow my other half has locked me at home a couple of times (absent-minded dickhead, rather than controlling abuser!) and the most recent was a couple of months ago when we were trying to housetrain our 4month old puppy Angry That was a fun 9 hours Angry I feel your pain!

No tampon stories to share, unfortunately!

caramelgirl · 08/04/2011 08:12

Thanks Piggy! What puppy do you have? We are in rented but just had revelation that we coudl actually get a puppy if we ask our (v nice and accommodating) landlord for permission and agree to clean and stuff. Super excited by this!

PiggyMad · 08/04/2011 08:19

We rent too and moved house so we could have one! He's a Shih Tzu. Just over six months now so the worst is over with, but he occasionally has the odd accident if he gets over-excited! We had to pay an extra £100 or £200 in the deposit, but he actually hasn't made that much mess - no chewing or anything and we put a big rug down on the lounge floor while we were training him incase we had any accidents (we had quite a few!)

JosieSmith1 · 08/04/2011 08:38

Welcome Piggy congrats on your recent wedding and good luck for TTC. My DH has also locked me in (in the non controlling way) but I made him get a lift home from work and let me out as I had to go to work! That was a fun story to share of why I was late Grin

Congrats Caramelgirl!!! FX for a sticky bean Smile

babylann · 08/04/2011 08:45

Wow congratulations caramel! Very happy for you. If you are going to get a puppy I'd do it now - you won't have time in 9 months!

I love that breed of dog Piggy. If I got a puppy, I'd want a pug though - the uglier the cuter imo!

Gotta ring docs for pg test results today... Don't see the point, took another bfn on wednesday so this just feels like a medically ordered disappointment waiting to happen!

BamBam21 · 08/04/2011 10:15

Brilliant news caramel! Sending sticky thoughts your way now!Grin

babylann I hope you get a nice surprise today.Smile What time do you have to phone?

I love shih tzus too, they are so cuddly. I used to have a lhasa apso when I was younger though, and I've never met a more sweet natured little thing than he was. He died when I was away at uni, and I still well up thinking about him!BlushSad Not sure how my posh princess cat would feel about a wee dog though!!Grin

PiggyMad · 08/04/2011 11:35

Good luck babylann Hope today goes ok. I like pugs too - the breeder we got our dog from had some of those - very cute!

Josie thankfully I work from home (doing a PhD) but I doubt he would've come back anyway as he was working in a different office 2 hours away. I rang him and he suggested sending the keys in a taxi - yeah, that sounds a)safe and b) economically viable!! We got another key cut after the second or third time of him doing it that I hide in a drawer incase he accidentally takes mine again.

Bambam we chose the breed as they are supposed to be quite calm and docile as wanted a family-friendly dog and already having guinea-pigs that live indoors was wary of a bloodbath that a terrier dog might create!

PiggyMad · 08/04/2011 11:37

ps embarrassing question alert - what's a viroid? Blush

JosieSmith1 · 08/04/2011 11:42

Viroids = girlies. Someone once posted from her iphone (I think anyway) and it changed girlies to viroids andit kinda stuxk Grin

brightcopperkettles · 08/04/2011 11:48

I'm still here too, just lurking as well.

Congratulations to caramel and belated birthday wishes to crow!

Nothing new to report, still sick sick sick (was the whole 9 months with DD so not expecting anything different this time!), but I have my nuchal translucency scan on 15 April.

Babylann, DD (currently almost 14 months) started walking about 2 months ago and it still looks comical to me - she's got quite the little strut! Hilarious with shoes too, picks her leg up really high and then kicks out from the knee and slaps it down when she's wearing them. Sort of like she can't work out what is weighing her foot down Grin.

Hope all is well with all other viroids.

BamBam21 · 08/04/2011 12:52

Oh piggy I can imagine the bloodbath if you had a terrier!Grin My DS is really wanting a hamster, but we have a cat, and I'm just hoping that we could maybe get one of those plastic boxes for the hamster, rather than a cage, just to keep it safe. I quite fancy a couple of guinea pigs, but I don't think we have enough room, as don't they need lots of exercise?

Sorry you are feeling so rubbish bright. Have a Brew. Exciting about the scan though. My DS looked funny when he started walking too - kind of marched like the roman soldiers from that Monty Python film!!Grin

Bleurgh, horrible cramps today.Sad Begone, red hag!

babylann · 08/04/2011 21:23

The doctors was engaged all day Angry Not that it really matters. I really am not expecting good news. I feel like there's about a 5% chance. A bit annoying that I have to wait until Monday though.

Good luck with the scan bright! Grin

Sorry to hear about your cramps Bam Sad

Going back to see the house tomorrow! Here's hoping I can manipulate blackmail convince DP to let us buy it Grin

BamBam21 · 09/04/2011 20:26

Hi everyone! Hope you are all having lovely weekends.SmileWine

Sorry about the doctor's babylann, but hope you are still as happy with the house, and that DP likes it too!Wink

I've had bad cramps again today, and ERTD has been terrible, but I'm sure tomorrow will be better. Maybe TMI, but does anybody else get a horrible feeling like something is stabbing right up into them with ERTD? I do, and today it made me wince just to sit down sometimes.SadBlush Don't know if anyone else gets this!

essenceofSES · 09/04/2011 20:52

Hello everyone!

Sorry been AWOL for a few days but just felt really down with ERTD and getting very impatient!

piggy - welcome and congrats on your recent marriage :)

Bam - sorry for stabbing pains. I don't get anything quite like that but I do get bad cramps and horrendous mood swings. Hope it all clears up and goes away quickly!

caramel - congrats Grin Grin Grin

brightcopperkettles - hello! Not long until your scan :) Hope the sickness improves this pregnancy for you.

babylann - hope the house viewing went well and you and DP have similar thoughts on it!

tampon stories - only one I have is about a fancy dress party I went to about 10yrs ago and one of the blokes turned up dressed in white trousers, white long-sleeved t-shirt with a piece of cotton wool on his head and a long string hanging from his waist. He did actually look quite comical.

dogs - we have 2 cocker spaniels. Before I met DH I was actually scared of dogs but he already had one, so it was a bit "love me, love my dog". We then got a second when we moved in together. DH's original unfortunately had to be put down just over a year ago so we had to get another puppy and it was not fun looking after a puppy and 8mo DS!!

BamBam21 · 09/04/2011 20:56

Hi essence. Hope ERTD is on the way out now for you, and that you can get back to JSing pronto!Smile

The tampon guy made me laugh! Just glad he didn't wear a red top or anything. Bleurgh!Grin

caramelgirl · 09/04/2011 21:35

ooh yes babylann hope house viewing went well. We are finally starting to look in May, my DH also cold feetish (mortgages scare him...)
Thanks everyone for congratulations, I have been busy looking at double pushchairs- I am determined to get the RIGHT one this time. And, after all, only eight months to go so need to get on it, right?
Check this out (tampon themed but not icky), think was on the Poncetastic Christmas thread but I love it!

babylann · 09/04/2011 23:44

Evening viroids.

Thank you for the good wishes about my house (I'm already calling it that!). DP has agreed we can make an offer! Grin Grin Grin After we viewed it, I took him for a walk around the area to show him where our daughter will grow up and he was sold! It needs a lot of work, but we've heard the council offer a deposit loan scheme so we might look into that so we can keep all our pennies for decorating. Grin It's a good day today.

Bam, I don't know if it's anything similar, but I get a (TMI) pain straight up there when I get ERTD (so not recently, obviously Hmm! Grin). The only way I can describe it is though I have a vein running down my tunnel, for lack of a better word Confused, and it feels like that vein is in bad bad pain. Also even-more-TMI, happens sometimes when I get extremely turned on and get no relief which, again, isn't often. Wink

essence, my friend (again lack of a better word) really wanted to get a puppy when she was pregnant. Maybe it's a broody thing, because I wanted a puppy when I was pregnant too. I'd got a 3 month old DD when she said she was thinking of buying a puppy so I found it very easy to say "DON'T DO IT!!!" Looking after a baby is the most stressful, time-consuming thing anyone has ever had to do. Having a puppy at the same time would have killed me! Grin

Thanks caramel! Good luck with the hunting in May. DP is scared of mortgages too, but I think he's finally coming around to the idea that we may as well be paying a mortgage right now for how expensive our rent is, and at least if it's a mortgage we'll see most of that money again one day in the future.

That tampon link is crazy! Who came up with that idea? Grin

babylann · 10/04/2011 14:32

Getting a bit quiet around here! Maybe we need to go and recruit some new JSers. Grin

PiggyMad · 10/04/2011 20:12

caramel and babylann Good luck with the househunting - Hope the offer is accepted babylann. Can I be cheeky and ask if you are offering below asking price and if you think it is acceptable to offer around 10% off in current market? We're just starting to look at places to buy - bit premature as we need to save a bit more deposit but I need another project plan now the wedding is over and done with!

essence my DH agreed to a dog last year to try to delay parenthood a bit longer! (Sure the RSPCA would have something to say about that Blush) But it's actually made me feel more broody seeing him cooing over a puppy and being 'all responsible' with training etc.

Bam another bit of tmi, but I have had shooting pains 'down there' with ERTD before and often get an achey, throbbing type pain. Grim.

Hope everyone has been enjoying the sunshine - I had a couple of hours in the garden then had a mid-afternoon snooze Blush

babylann · 10/04/2011 22:04

Piggy, we are offering below asking price - I think it works out about 5% lower that we are offering. We would offer 10% lower if it was a different house, but we're a bit worried about losing this one because a) it's a repossession, so we know they will want a fast sale and b) it's the only house in the area which is affordable to people who aren't on £50k+ salaries. They have told us they already have an offer, and both times we have been to view the house there have been at least 3 other buyers viewing it at the same time, so I can tell it's going to be competitive.

PiggyMad · 10/04/2011 22:21

Keeping my fingers crossed for you babylann Is the offer going in tomorrow? Eeek!

PenguinPoo4 · 10/04/2011 22:24

Hi Viroids! Hope everyone has enjoyed their weekends. I've been working most of mine, but DP and I have had lots of time together inbetween shifts for JSing :) Should know by next weekend if this month has worked, doubt it though as my ov sticks say that I havent ovulated at all.
Babylann and Caramel good luck with the house(s), fingers crossed for you both. We are moving into our house in July (hopefully - its being built right now), and thats proving to be a really good thing to focus on to stop be getting tooooo baby obsessed. Creating a lovely, cosy family home thats all yours will be amazing :) x
Bam sorry you're having a rough AF. I'm thinking that next month would be a perfect month to get pregnant though. I've been told that having a January baby is great because you can get all their birthday pressies in the sales Grin So fingers crossed for a whole posse of january babies to come out of this thread! x
Have a great week everyone! I'm off to sort my pet sheep out now, its pouring rain here and he's trying to get in the cat flap Grin
