The (updated)(again)(again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you've had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). (But it does work).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.
OV is ovulation - I'm allowed to forget what date I've OVd, feel free to join me on that one!

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Looks like the poundland ones will be 20-25, the first response is around 25... but I never found first response to be that reliable. You can get 10 tests from ebay for £3 though, and they are the super sensitive ones, so might be worth getting some of those.

babylann · 01/04/2011 11:52

Ah, thanks for checking for me Katee. Doesn't seem to reassuring though, does it? Either the first pack was dodgy or the second one was unreliable.

I know I was trying really hard not to get my hopes up, but I still did Blush

Do you think they would pick it up on the blood tests I had done at the doctors? I was being tested for thyroid and anaemia problems, so I don't know if they'd naturally check for pregnancy as well? I've got my appointment on Monday.

I'm going to try and distract myself all afternoon while DD is out with grandparents by setting up a string of pranks to play on DP when he gets home. I've been inspired, Crowette! Only wish I'd thought of the lunchbox joke yesterday Smile

KateeHasABunInHerOven · 01/04/2011 12:02

If you have a line and it stayed a line and is the same colour as the control then its a line IMO. False negatives are very common, but false positives aren't. So don't despair. My first was so faint you can barely even see it!

crowette · 01/04/2011 12:02

I'm sitting here and chuckling to myself every time I think of him opening his lunch bag in front of his workmates Blush I very nearly also put a pair of my knickers in there too, but chickened out!

nickelbabyhatcher · 01/04/2011 12:06

you can't do Arpil Fool's after 12 o'clock, or you're the fool Grin

BamBam21 · 01/04/2011 13:15

I feel so stupid. Just POAS, far too early, and BFN obviously. I think I hoped I might get some sort of birthday miracle. It seems to have brought it all to a head in my mind and I can't stop crying now. I'm 34 today, and we started TTC when I was still 31. I'm so ready to think about giving up the whole TTC thing. I don't think it's ever going to happen.

Sorry to be so down. And no, despite my earlier posts, I haven't been drinking.

KateeHasABunInHerOven · 01/04/2011 13:39

You may still get that BFP this month Bam, just give it a bit more time, don't get down about it xx

nickelbabyhatcher · 01/04/2011 13:50

you prat, Bam :(

I'm 34 too, if it makes you feel any better, but i'm 11 months ahead of you (35 on 1st may)
please don't lose heart

BamBam21 · 01/04/2011 14:16

Thanks katee and nickel. We've just been trying for such a long, long time, and it all got on top of me. I know I'm only 34, but DP is 45, and I don't know if it will happen for us or not. I'll try to stay positive. I have to slap a smile on soon anyway, as I have to collect DS from school, and he gets soooooo excited about birthdays.Smile

nickelbabyhatcher · 01/04/2011 14:18

DH is 49. will be 50 at the end of may.

nickelbabyhatcher · 01/04/2011 14:18

(and you've already got one! that means that all your bits work properly!)

BamBam21 · 01/04/2011 14:26

Thanks nickel.Smile That's really reassuring. As you say, I have already had DS, and DP has 2 from his previous marriage, so hopefully we are both "in good working order"Hmm and it's just taking time.

I'll pull myself together.

nickelbabyhatcher · 01/04/2011 14:27

i found one!

I have a dilemma, well not really but I have to tell you all about it anyway, sorry for overiding the thread with horsey rubbish Blush

The yard I originally wanted to go to, has just text saying they've built me a stable!!! So, do I stick to my original plan for tomorrow (which is really stressing me out) or do I move to the other yard, which I absolutely love and can't stop grinning about, but won't save me as much money as the yard I've arranged to go to tomorrow Hmm I was looking forward to some extra dosh as we're skint like aaalll the time, but I'd be so so happy at this other yard, and already three of the people there, including the owner, have sent me messages saying I HAVE to go there, so I'm really wanted, and it's sooo nie, honestly I can't explain how happy I am!!!!! It's about time things started looking up.

By the way,no ERTD yet... Though it's starting to be a day late now so probably tomorrow, but I don't really care this time tbh

nickelbabyhatcher · 01/04/2011 16:39

ooh, that is a dilemma.
sorry

JosieSmith1 · 01/04/2011 16:53

Not really Nickel, I know where my heart lies, just hate letting people down, except I'm not, cos DH is going to ring them Grin Is that really childish and wimpish Grin They know him too though, so not really, he can tell them I'm at work Blush

BamBam21 · 01/04/2011 17:39

I'm a great believer in going with your heart Josie. Go for it.Smile

babylann · 01/04/2011 18:35

Sorry I wasn't around earlier to offer support when the others did, I was downstairs stuffing my face (celebrating my few hours of peace while DD goes to my mums), but I'm glad you are feeling a little more cheerful Bam. Sad that you had to go through that on your birthday though :(

Hope you make the decision which suits you best Josie, I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you choose! Well done for staying so calm about your ERTD being due, although it's not as fun as obsessively POAS every day, it's probably better for the soul to not keep going through the upset when it's "not your month".

I'm beginning to think "sod it, no more SWI for me". I'll literally "JS", it's not like I'm even getting periods anymore reliably. Maybe I just wait, convince myself to stop taking tests, and then suddenly realise I've got a huge bump? Grin

BamBam21 · 01/04/2011 18:46

I love the idea of just watching your bump grow, and thinking Hmm I wonder what that might mean babylann!Grin Thank you for being so nice. And everyone else too. I think it was because of my birthday, and because I've been quite emotional recently anyway, but I feel okay now and looking forward to having DP home soon. We are having bolognese as a special birthday tea!Grin

Maybe if I break down weeping tomorrow then they won't give me the crappy job!HmmGrin

babylann · 01/04/2011 21:57

It would be nice to just suddenly realise, a few months from now, "oh! I'm pregnant! Hadn't even thought about it, what a lovely surprise." In fact, even better, "Oh! I'm in labour!" And then be one of those lucky so and sos who get the 10 minute labour and have the baby before they've even left the house.

Like night and day from my experience. Envy

It's okay as long as it's a girl, spent a few hours this evening having a spring clean and getting all of DD's clothes which are too small stashed away ready for the attic. Seeing as she was born so huge, she hasn't even worn half of them (plus she had to wear a pavlik harness for the first two months of her life which meant she couldn't really wear a lot of the more complicated-to-put-on stuff :()

I was convinced I was pregnant in December too, so when I went for my operation I was sure they were going to tell me after I'd come round that it turned out they couldn't do it as there was a baby in there Grin

nickelbabyhatcher · 02/04/2011 10:21

I thought that said "we're having spaghetti bolognese as a special birthday cake" Blush

yum! Grin

hope you had a lovely birthday, Bam

babylann · 02/04/2011 21:28

Take a look on my profile at the picture of DD I took today. She pulled this weird face all day and I have no idea why! Grin That's not what she normally looks like though, she's usually much prettier than that. I just think the picture is too funny for words.

PenguinPoo4 · 03/04/2011 20:33

Happy mothers day to all Viroids that are mums already! And lets hope that the rest of us at least have bumps if not babies by next mothers day!
Bam sorry your birthday started off sad, hope mothers day was better for you x
Congrats on your new yard Josie cheers to you Wine
DP asked me the other night if my womb was full of water, and if not how did the sperm swim up there?! Embarrassingly I couldnt explain it properly myself Blush

PenguinPoo4 · 03/04/2011 20:35

babylann I just looked at that pic of your daughter, so cute! I can see why you're broody for more! x
