The (updated)(again)(again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you've had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). (But it does work).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.
OV is ovulation - I'm allowed to forget what date I've OVd, feel free to join me on that one!

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Ooo fingers crossed Babylann

Bam how are you feeling now?

Can someone remind me what 11+3 means again? Confused

Got my app form back from my friend who said it was fab and I should be proud, so I'm really happy and have sent it off, just gotta wait and see now! I'm stressing about moving my horse, and work is manic so it's takin my mind off the fact that I'm on day 28....

BamBam21 · 31/03/2011 14:45

Hi Josie. That's great about your form. You go girlfriend!Grin

Fingers crossed for you babylann. Keep us posted.Smile

I just feel a bit out of sorts and emotional today, to be honest. A bit sick (although also had to rush to the loo with trouble at t'other end!Blush) and just really emotional. That Standing Ovation song by Mary Byrne came on the radio, and DP had told me it reminded him of me, and I was sobbing away!Blush Maybe just PMT, but over a week until ERTD. I'm not usually such a wuss!Grin

nickelbabyhatcher · 31/03/2011 14:57

Josie - i was wonderign that myself!
I think it means 11weeks and 3 days, but i don't know when you start the count. Confused

KateeHasABunInHerOven · 31/03/2011 14:57

Lots of suspicious things going on on this thread that's for sure... Bam I was an emotional wreck the week before my bfp!

josie good luck with moving your horse, its always good to have something to distract from the dreaded 2wt (2 week torture)... 11 is weeks and 3 is days... days very important Wink

KateeHasABunInHerOven · 31/03/2011 14:59

you start the count from the start of last period... though they may have to make an exception in babylann's case, 41 days! If it is a BFP babylann they will do an estimated date and then revise it with a dating scan where they measure the baby.

BamBam21 · 31/03/2011 16:01

Thank you katee. I'm trying not to get my hopes up yet again, but I've been feeling a bit Hmm and Confused with myself as I'm so out of sorts.

KateeHasABunInHerOven · 31/03/2011 16:06

Well I shall be thinking positive sticky thoughts for you Bam when is ERTD due, can you hold out til then? xx

BamBam21 · 31/03/2011 16:19

ERTD isn't due until 8-10 April katee. I will be having a birthday Wine tomorrow, and then be sensible. It's hard to stay calm. I shall live vicariously through babylann for the next few days!!Grin

PenguinPoo4 · 31/03/2011 19:17

Oh Babylann I am feeling all goosebumpy about this! Christ this thread is a rollercoaster!
Happy birthday for tomorrow Bam, Friday is such a good day to have a birthday, you'll have no shortage of people looking for any excuse to get shedded wishing to toast your health I'm sure Grin
I'm on day 17 of what was, last month anyway, a 31 day cycle so lots of SWI happening here. Everywhere I turn in my town there are new babies and bumps so I'm finding it hard not to obsess!
Thinking of you all ladies. And am also sparing a thought for all the DP's out there who have to live with all the TTC related mood swings Grin They deserve a Wine too!

babylann · 31/03/2011 21:07

Thanks for the support everyone! I'm taking a test in the morning, but I'm trying really hard not to get carried away as I honestly think it was just a dodgy pack. DP keeps saying he doesn't think I'm pregnant and I have this gut feeling that he's right. I feel pregnant sometimes and I obviously want to be, but there's just something telling me not to get my hopes up as I'm setting myself up for a big fall. (Sorry to bring down the tone of the thread!)

So I completely know where you're coming from, Bam! Good luck with the SWI Penguin!

I watched OBEM earlier and started crying before anything even started happening so I'm clearly getting a bit carried away with all of this! Also, I went to view the house earlier. It's 3 bed (our current is 2 bed) and of course, we'd be buying it so it would be OURS, so I'm really tempted to start taking the next steps... The only problem is, it needs a lot of work (probably only decorating - but LOTS of decorating) and it appears we may have a lot of competition.

BamBam21 · 01/04/2011 09:32

Hi all! Have a Wine to celebrate my birthday!Grin

How did you get on this morning babylann? I'm thinking about you. Fingers crossed for the house too. It sounds like you really want it.

Hope the SWI is all going well penguin!Grin

KateeHasABunInHerOven · 01/04/2011 09:47

Happy Birthday BamBam happy Wine drinking!

Kxx

BamBam21 · 01/04/2011 10:15

Thanks Katee! Grin

crowette · 01/04/2011 10:24

Morning Ladies!

Happy Birthday BamBam!

How many of you have set up or been victims of April Fools jokes this morning?! A few friends on my facebook have announced they're pregnant Hmm every year I can guarantee some will do this! One of them is denying it's an April Fool though, and she's been saying for ages she's broody and the other day asked folk if she should try for another baby, or continue partying. She's single by the way, and has 3 children already. Ah well.

I covered the toilet in cling film this morning, in the hope that OH would still be too groggy and tired to notice, but he did - just in time Sad BUT - I've filled his lunch bag with tampons, pantyliners, furry handcuffs and a mini vibrator (one of those you get from club vending machines) Grin they should all just tumble out when he opens it up!

Am on CD 10 here, gearing up for some serious JSing! I have 9 days off work now, so it's timed well, fingers crossed it works!

babylann · 01/04/2011 10:31

Happy birthday Bam! Wine

BFN of course :(

And DP is having second thoughts about us getting a mortgage too! I don't know why he would rather throw away money on rent for the rest of our lives, we've already figured we pay the same on rent as we would do on the mortgage, but Hmm

I just hate where we live right now. Stupid little house with no front garden, a tiny little back yard not even big enough for a patio table, stupidly small kitchen with literally no storage space whatsoever, and we can't decorate so we've got stupid white walls and brown carpets everywhere. I feel like we live in a student house without the luxury of having no responsibilities or desire to keep it tidy. If we ever want a pet, we can't. We can't sort out our own maintenance, so we have to wait til our Landlord who lives in Spain can be bothered to do anything if something breaks.

I don't know why DP wants to carry on living like this! I just want the freedom to be able to make my house the way I want it. I spent 95% of my life in the house, I think I should at least be able to feel like it's my house and have a reason to want to take pride in keeping it tidy, buying nice furniture for it, etc.

I'm in such a bad mood today :(

babylann · 01/04/2011 10:32

I love the lunchbox prank, Crowette! (x-posted so I didn't see yours Smile)

crowette · 01/04/2011 10:37

Awwwww babylann sorry about your mood Sad

I've owned and rented, and there are pros and cons to both. Loved the idea of having my own house, that I could do with as I pleased, but also loved the idea that when renting, the maintenance was down to the landlord! I'm now in council housing, and in a way it's the best of both worlds ... cheaper, can decorate as I please, and the council do any repairs Grin

Saying that though, I think if I could afford it, I'd still prefer to own my own place ... never private renting again!

Haha, I'm sure OH will love the prank too - he's got a great sense of humour :)

KateeHasABunInHerOven · 01/04/2011 10:39

Don't lose hope babylann - it might be worth checking on www.peeonastick.com the relative sensitivities of the tests you used? My first were internet cheapies and they were 10miu, the standard ones you get in the shops (e.g. first response etc.) are 25-50, so much less sensitive. What I'm basically saying is that the first batch may have been more sensitive, so it would show up on them (even if wonky) and the second one may have been much less. Try again in a few days if you can bear it.

It might be DP just has cold feet about committing to a mortgage for a given number of years, keep working on him!

BamBam21 · 01/04/2011 10:40

Aw babylann.Sad I hope you're okay. Do you think maybe your DP just wants everything to be secure before you commit to a mortgage - wait for you to get through uni etc. He's maybe panicking at the thought of a potential new baby, along with you being a student and so on. You should have a sit down and a chat together tonight.

Love the prank crow, but honestly, with this being my birthday, I've grown up HATING April Fool's. It wears thin when you have opened as many "joke" presents (old slippers, a can of beans etc) as I have over the years!AngryGrin

babylann · 01/04/2011 10:49

We had a conversation about 3 months ago when there was a house I really liked the look of. By the time I finally convinced him, the house had been sold... I decided I wasn't going to risk it happening again, so I needed to 100% convince him that it's the right thing for our family.

We had a meeting with a mortgage advisor, found out how much we could borrow, all the fees etc, and I've been to view a couple of houses. I appreciate he's scared of jumping into something which holds a lot of responsibility and commitment, but we've found out everything we need to know and we've even figured out how much we can borrow and are still looking at much cheaper houses because our requirements aren't all that high and we would rather pay a lower monthly sum. And so, despite thinking we're in the perfect position to do it now, he just keeps backing out at the last second. And I know that if we don't act soon, we will lose this house too, because we're hoping to move to a much nicer area than the one we live now where the houses are very sought after and disappear very quickly if they have a reasonable price tag.

One of the main things about the house is that it's on the same street that I grew up in so I have so many happy childhood memories attached to the place, and think it would be quite a sentimental thing to raise my children there too Grin

He says that if we get this house we definitely can't afford to get married for a few years while we do the maintenance and stuff.

Bah, sorry for ranting. It's just one of those days I guess Confused

crowette · 01/04/2011 10:51

Haha I can imagine it would get a bit tiresome! Apparently I was due to be born on this day, but I held on for another 6 days Grin

babylann · 01/04/2011 10:54

oh I never thought about the fact that your birthday was April Fools day, Bam! I bet that does get tiring...

babylann · 01/04/2011 10:56

Katee do you have a direct link to the part about POAS strengths? Can't see it on the easy sidebar menu, and DD just woken up so I don't have time to scroll through too thoroughly.

My first ones were pound shop cheapies, the one I took today was a first response.

babylann · 01/04/2011 10:58

Maybe the first two were evap lines, but they appeared within the first 5 minutes and were definitely the same colour as the control line...

nickelbabyhatcher · 01/04/2011 10:59

sorry for your BFN, babylann - but i agree with Katee about the sensitivities (god that's a lot of Is) - try again with a different test in a couple of days.

and sort your DP out!
tell him it's sink or swim - seriously, give him an ultimatum.
look for houses, find one you like, put an offer in, do all the leg work and then get him to sign the agreement.
