The (updated)(again)(again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you've had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). (But it does work).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.
OV is ovulation - I'm allowed to forget what date I've OVd, feel free to join me on that one!

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

And good luck Josie!

BamBam21 · 25/03/2011 21:59

Hi ladies. Just quickly checking in. It's going to be a mad weekend, as DP, poor man, is working Sat and Sun, and is currently asleep on the couch.

nickel and katee please don't start worrying about the birth. Once it starts you really just have to go with the flow. And yes, it hurts, but the pain has a point, if you know what I mean, and you just want to work towards the birth. And I swear that all pain disappears the second the little wriggler comes out!Grin Oh, and raspberry leaf tea is only advised after about week 30 as it can induce labour, but it's vile. I think a raspberry flavoured tea is probably fine.

Sorry if I sound like a Ms Smartypants!Blush Don't mean to!Blush

Babylann it sounds like you have some big decisions to make. I can't advise you, as only you and your DP can decide what's best, but I am thinking about you.Smile

babylann · 25/03/2011 22:08

Well it probably explains why my raspberry tea didn't do any good Grin it wasn't the right type! Damned DD was too big to come out of me anyway, and she knew it, so she just hung in there until they forcibly removed her.

Thanks Bam, I do have a lot to think about. Right now, it feels kind of pointless anyway, without a cycle one cannot conceive, or at least not with ease. :( I hope my blood tests give me some good answers.

BamBam21 · 25/03/2011 22:20

I really hope you get some answers soon babylann so that you can move forward and make decisions.

Grin at the raspberry tea! I took raspberry leaf capsules, as the tea was so vile!

PenguinPoo4 · 25/03/2011 23:07

Hi Viroids! Sorry not checked in for a few days, you've been in my thoughts though. Big decisions for you babylann, I can totally understand why you'd be thinking about putting TTC off for a bit, I hope you and your DP come to a decision that you are happy with. Good luck with the tests too.
Bambam you still online? We must both be nearing ovulation again, fingers crossed for both of us this month! I'm currently alternating between freaking out about how much furnishing a new house from scratch is gonna cost us and thinking that a few more months to save for a baby would be a good thing - and the next minute I'm insanely jelous of anyone with a bump/baby/child and I just want to start our family NOW!!!

babylann · 26/03/2011 00:26

Non-pregnant members of the thread, raise a Wine for me today as 'tis my birthday!

PenguinPoo4 · 26/03/2011 00:34

woo hoo! Let me be the first! Wine to you! How old? Early 20's I seem to recall? 23 today?

babylann · 26/03/2011 00:45

Yup 23! I've already started the "but it's my biiiirthdaaay" whining with DP Grin and it's only been 45 minutes!

PenguinPoo4 · 26/03/2011 00:57

why? What are you after from him? Or do I want to know Grin

babylann · 26/03/2011 01:00

Oh... I wanted to go downstairs and open my birthday cards, but he was just finishing something on his computer, said he would be 15 seconds, but I was too impatient to wait because "it's my biiiirthdaaaay" Grin (I really do "milk" it Blush but you only get one birthday a year!)

PenguinPoo4 · 26/03/2011 01:04

well I hope you have a lovely day and try not to worry too much about the big decisions you are facing at the moment - see if you can enjoy all teh little pleasures. Even if you dont have a fancy night out make the most of telephone calls with friends, a posher bottle of plonk than you'd normally have, NO housework etc. etc. Anything special planned?

babylann · 26/03/2011 01:15

Ah, that's a long story Smile

As short as I can summarise:

Me and DP had a weekend away booked, two nights in a hotel... Mum was supposed to be babysitting DD. Mum asked me about a month ago if she should invite my brother home from university to see me on my birthday. I said no, I would be going away for my birthday. She said "oh yes, I remember".
Earlier this week, mum text me: "You're not going away both nights this weekend are you?" It turns out she ignored me and decided to invite brother to stay with her to see me on my birthday after all, and he was bringing his girlfriend, so they would have no room for DD - so couldn't babysit. Plus, "surely I should see my brother as he is coming home to see me."

So I had to cancel the weekend away... And then we decided to go for a spa day, which has ended up being postponed as a few unexpected bills turned up, including DP having to book another driving test.

And then I decided to throw a party for myself, but the cost of the party food and the entertainment (I wanted a murder mystery party) added up to be a bit ridiculous for a party where I'd likely only have 10 guests, and the effort didn't seem worth it when it's my own birthday - if it was someone elses, I'd at least have the satisfaction of knowing I'd made them happy etc. I couldn't justify the expense and the effort. So that was cancelled too.

So now I think DP is going to cook me a meal and yes, I think I'll be buying myself some nice wine! It's all a bit of an anti-climax when we were supposed to be having a romantic getaway, and I'm a bit annoyed at how it's played out, but I'm going to try and make the most of it either way Grin

PenguinPoo4 · 26/03/2011 01:29

Oh I'm sorry things havent worked out how you wanted. But if you do your best to enjoy your birthday then you can always plan another 'special night' for you and DP when you have more cash. You dont need to wait for a birthday to spoil yourselves and each other. Big hugs from me anyway, hope you have a lovely day xxx

PenguinPoo4 · 26/03/2011 01:38

Night Babylann, I'm off to drag my tired DP to bed now x looking forward to hearing how you birthday went x

babylann · 26/03/2011 01:41

Thanks for the hugs! Good night, hope you have a good sleep :) I'll let you know how it goes

BamBam21 · 26/03/2011 09:21

Happy birthday babylann!Wine

I'll check in later. Bit hectic here today!

nickelbabyhatcher · 26/03/2011 10:32

:( babylann - best laid plans, eh? can't believe your mother did that! Shock

babylann · 26/03/2011 10:56

I know. I don't really know what to think about it to be honest, but it's not the first time this kind of thing has happened and it definitely won't be the last either! Especially since DD was born, I've felt a bit "messed around" quite a few times. Oh well! I'm just going to take it easy today Wink I'm quite unlucky when it comes to birthdays, from the anti-climatic ones to the catastrophic ones, so I was kidding myself if I thought something wasn't going to go wrong!

Got the batteries this morning and opened them with my other cards and presents Grin Thanks again! Took my blood pressure and it was perfect - as was my pulse rate! Think babylann's got White Coat Syndrome...

nickelbabyhatcher · 26/03/2011 11:02

Grin no probs - think of them as a buirthday present then! something that will stop your worries!

Glad your BP was normal - knew it would be.
do one every day and keep a record of it.

babylann · 26/03/2011 14:22

hmmm, I might accidentally become obsessed with monitoring my BP. Grin Thanks for the birthday present!

nickelbabyhatcher · 26/03/2011 14:27
Grin

don't blame you - i love things like that- it's just a healthy fascination with the human body Grin

babylann · 26/03/2011 14:39

To be honest, think I'm getting obsessed with MN too... Eek!

SleepyCaz · 27/03/2011 10:00

Hi Viroids :)

Missed you all.

Fab to see so much good news on the graduates thread. Hugs to those still waiting for the BFP or who have had bad news.

Am on CD4 here. Second proper AF after MC.

Taking both DC's to a party today, but feeling crap with a bad throat, moan moan!

Grin
essenceofSES · 27/03/2011 20:28

Hello everyone!

Babylann - hope you had a great birthday Wine
Glad your BP monitor is reassuring you. Definitely sounds like the suspected white coat syndrome!

SleepyCaz - hello!
Sorry for your mc.
Hope your throat hasn't got any worse.

Bam - hope you got chance to relax at some point during your hectic weekend!

nickel and katee - hope you're both doing ok and not stressing too much about symptoms!

I reckon that I'm 6dpo today and need a slap with a wet fish for a) knowing that and b) symptom spotting already!

PenguinPoo4 · 27/03/2011 21:49

Hi Viroids!
Babylann hope your birthday went well. What did you get up to in the end?
Bam sounds like you had a hectic one - me and you must be ovulating about now/next few days so try and fit some shagging in too!
Love and hugs to Nickel and all other upduffed viroids too! I spent the day at a big community even with babies everywhere, most of my friends have tiny babies or are pregnant, cant wait to join the club :)

Essence I wont be slapping you, I'm just as bad, I even bought ovulation strips which contravenes all of the rules on this thread Blush

Please let me stay! I like it here, its cosy and I've just learnt who some people are!
