The (updated)(again)(again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you've had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). (But it does work).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.
OV is ovulation - I'm allowed to forget what date I've OVd, feel free to join me on that one!

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

yes, that's a good plan.

Make sure it's your resting pulse, so,as you've done it in the evening.

a piece of paper makes all the difference.
:)

BamBam21 · 17/03/2011 10:58

Morning everyone!

LOL babylann! I always thought the rhythm method was just "pulling out" too!Grin

Josie I worked with a woman who bought Femfresh as she thought it smelt nice, and was spraying it all over. She was mortified when somebody explained!Grin

I still have horrible ERTD, but hopefully it will bugger off soon. DP and I have decided to cut out booze (as we like it a worrying amountBlush) and then once that's out our system, try VERY hard to quit the ciggies. I feel so bad about smoking, but it's just such an awful hard thing to stop. I feel positive today that we can do it though.Smile

caramelgirl · 17/03/2011 11:46

My friend's dad once walked into a high powered meeting singing the Bodyform advvert- quite a catchy tune but obviously most unfortunate connotations.
Am clearly v prudish as horrified by thought of my mother discussing ANY aspect of her and my dad's sex life with me. They are having a sort of second honeymoon -after nearly 40 years of marriage- and holding hands and stuff and I can take that, but would not want any chat about that.
Babylann top advice from nickel re: heart rate. My friend was high risk for pre-eclampsia with her second pregnancy and the stress of being tested kept making her bp and heart rate soar. So she practised taking it every night until it was just boring. She also logged it to show what it really was. Unusually raised heart rate/blood pressure in medical environment is called "white coat" syndrome and is quite common so they should be open to you waving your piece of paper.
I have realised that I am going to a big family do in three weeks time in a v tight new dress but that I've forgotten to be quite as careful as I should be with what I'm eating. So I have a belly which isn't baby but is left over dd food that I've "tidied up" etc. Do not want MIL etc. getting excited when I've just been greedy so going to have to think slim for next few weeks (interestingly my friend's sister was chatting to a farmer in her local who said that you starve sheep to make them fertile, if it works for sheep maybe a few less baby organix oat bars will work for me fx'd!)

caramelgirl · 17/03/2011 11:47

PS v goood luck bambam, just think of all the nice new clothes for you lovely baby stuff you'll be able to afford

BamBam21 · 17/03/2011 11:57

Thanks caramel. The booze situation was getting a bit out of hand, especially when ERTD turned up and we were both so disappointed, but it's no excuse. Obviously I want the best environment possible for DS, which means the fags and booze have to be binned, and hopefully maybe a Baby Bam will come along too!Smile The main thing is that we will be happier and healthier, and I'm sure it will all fall into place. I may even pop that pillow under my bum!!Grin

BamBam21 · 17/03/2011 11:58

Ooooh! I forgot - Shamrock Happy St Pat's!

panpipe · 17/03/2011 14:23

That's a great plan Bam - all the best with it :)

Had my doctor's appointment this morning - glad I took you guys' advice and didn't take DH as it was largely pointless! Doc didn't even take another test, just took my word for it that I was pregnant! Seeing the midwife to 'book in' with her on 7th April so hopefully we can work out some dates - evidently it's not useful that I've only had 1 ERTD since coming off the pill....

DH and I have been trying to work out when we would have conceived - we think we have it at the day he'd come back from working abroad and was knackered so let's just say things were over very quickly! He's now saying "I didn't come too early, I was just being efficient!" Grin Grin

nickelbabysnatcher · 17/03/2011 15:54

efficient Grin

love it! Grin

PenguinPoo4 · 17/03/2011 18:25

Happy St Paddys Day viroids!
I'm impressed with your hubbys efficiency Pan, my Dp has decided that his sperm swim in circles (we've only been trying for one cycle, so a bit over dramatic!).
Good luck giving up the fags and booze Bam. I was planning to get all healthy while TTC but my new plan of action is to try not to get tooooo pissed on the 2ww, but apart from that to drink like a fish, as once I'm up the duff i wont have that luxery for a while Grin

caramelgirl · 18/03/2011 09:13

Hi Penguin my DH also a bit crestfallen re: no pregnancy yet. We need to increase efficiency levels here, ratio of SWI to BFP is poor!!
Pan I think that midwife writes a guarantee that you are pregnant at 25 weeks or so for you to take to work and send off for the £190 maternity grant- unsure if this still exists tho'. But that until scan they just take your word for it that you are pregnant.
Had dinner with some mummy friends of mine last night and another one announced she was 14 weeks gone. V pleased for her, but also a bit jealous. And everyone keeps asking when I'll have another- I want to say "I wish I knew" but don't.
My original plan was not to drink at all for three months pre ttc (check) and during ttc. But I'm bored of that now after three months of making excuses without any justification. So back on the drink and being a total lightweight as no tolerance. V cheap date.

BamBam21 · 18/03/2011 10:09

Morning viroids. Thank you for all your good luck wishes with the fags and booze. Last night was completely booze free, but the big test will be the weekend, when it just seems normal to have a drink. I was getting a bit worried about it though, and we both feel quite positive about getting back to being us again. Next week will be the stopping fags trial though.Confused We both so want a BabyBam, and we just haven't been helping ourselves - so hopefully sober, non-smoking and JSing for Scotland!!Grin

Love your DH's efficiency pan!Grin

JosieSmith1 · 18/03/2011 12:41

Morning viroids!

An ok day today although I'm not feeling very well now! Was completely wiped out yesterday and although I'd had my normal amount of sleep I couldn't get out of bed and was completely exhausetd all day. Better this morning but still got no appetite and I'm still knackered. Getting weird pains in my below stomach area and no signs of oving still.

Kipper alert - I want to do a pg test!!! ERTD was here only 2 weeks ago!! I have officially gone mad Grin

By the way, loving the super efficiency Pan. We just went through the motions last night so maybe my DH was being efficient too Grin

BamBam21 · 18/03/2011 12:51

Hi Josie. I hope you feel better soon. You know, if I were you, I'd want to do a test too, but it's very early. Fingers crossed for you Josie, but try to hang on in there!Smile

I'm hoping for some JS action tonight, as it has been a while with ERTD lurking around. No booze, so no excuse!Grin

kateepie2 · 18/03/2011 13:00

Hi josie was last ertd a proper one? If just a light one I would be tempted to get a cheapy and test, might just have been implantation bleed, you never know!

Happy js-ing Bam both of you stopping smoking/drinking will definitely improve your 'swimmer meets egg' odds! I think men smoking affects numbers/quality, so def. doing yourselves a favour.

Good luck! I have an early scan today, so keep your fingers crossed for me please! Had some light bleeding yesterday, so they just want to make sure all ok.

DPs cousin has announced to the world that she is pg, at 7 weeks... not sure that's wise, but sooo glad I'm pg otherwise would have been totally pissed off that she got there first Grin

BamBam21 · 18/03/2011 13:19

Oh katee, fingers crossed for you. I hope you aren't feeling too stressed or anxious about it. Keep us all posted.Smile

JosieSmith1 · 18/03/2011 13:40

Hope it goes ok Katie, I've heard bleeding is quite common in the early stages Last ERTD was about the same as usual, pretty light but too much to be implantation I think

JosieSmith1 · 18/03/2011 13:46

Sorry Bam I totally missed your opst. I don't think I'v even ov'd yet so definitely too early to test BlushGrin

kateepie2 · 18/03/2011 13:48

Feeling a bit sick tbh, I know the odds are everything is fine (was only a tiny bit in discharge and stopped v quickly) but aaaaaaargh!

Thanks for the good wishes, will let you know what happens Smile

BamBam21 · 18/03/2011 14:15

Keep calm katee. I'll be thinking of you.Smile

Josie, all logic flies out the window when you get the urge to POASGrin. Hope you feel better.

nickelbabysnatcher · 18/03/2011 14:31

I feel sick.

guessing ERTD, cos I just went all the way through the thread to find the last one - 20th Feb, so it's due.

BamBam21 · 18/03/2011 14:36

Oh nickel, fingers crossed that ERTD doesn't get you.Smile

(Just read my last few posts, and realised I'm running out of fingers to cross for the viroids!Grin)

I just realised I've taken 2 of my folic pills today.Confused Hope an overdose won't be bad for me! On the plus side, I've had an apple and banana, and a glass of milk. I love milk, but really have to force fruit down my throat. Also, making a lovely pot of lentil soup for tea later.

We WILL get healthy and have a baby, we WILL get healthy and have a baby......Grin

nickelbabysnatcher · 18/03/2011 15:26

you're alrigth with the folic acid - apparently, you should take at least 400micrograms a day.

nickelbabysnatcher · 18/03/2011 15:28

you're missing a trick there - get soft fruit, milk, pour it in a blender with a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream
yummy thick milkshake, lots of fruit but not having to eat it! Grin

works with banana, strawberries, raspberries, etc
but not apples, oranges etc.

oh, drink juice rather than eat fruit, it's easier (adn if you're eating enough veg, you'll be fine for the fibre)

BamBam21 · 18/03/2011 16:14

Thanks for the tips nickel!Smile I'm just hopeless at getting my 5 a day. A milkshake sounds great though, and I'm sure DS would be happy too! At least I have my vitamin supplements though, to top me up. I have to practically force man-vitamins down DP's throat - a la giving the cat a worming pill!Shock - but even he is getting into the swing of being healthy!Grin

nickelbabysnatcher · 18/03/2011 16:28

DH is good at taking vitamins - he takes cod liver oil [boak] for his joints (organist and postie, very important to keep bones and joints well Grin )

Ex used to think that taking vitamin C tablets would mean that he didn't have to eat any fruit Hmm
