The (updated)(again)(again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you've had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). (But it does work).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.
OV is ovulation - I'm allowed to forget what date I've OVd, feel free to join me on that one!

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Morning everyone.

Welcome olismum! So sorry to hear about your m/c. Hope you will find this a nice cosy thread to get back on the TTC wagon.Smile

Well, I stupidly POAS last night, and of course it was a BFN. What was I thinking?!Confused I feel so sick today, and there has been no more spotting, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but might wait until Sunday morning to test.

Hope you are all fine today. I'm off for a Brew!

babylann · 10/03/2011 10:16

Yes Lizzy I completely understand all the crying... I have to watch it while DP is at work and DD is in bed, so I can cry in peace! I know I should stop watching it, but I actually feel like it's quite addictive.

I haven't been to the doctors. It's a pain in the bum, because I am not registered at the doctors near to where I live - despite having always been registered there, they decided to transfer me without even telling me to a different clinic on the other side of the city. I was thinking I might go this afternoon with DD and register us, and make an appointment.

I've been getting weird pains in my pelvis for the last couple of months. But yesterday, most weirdly, I felt unmistakeable baby "flutterings". Just another reason to start tearing my hair out with confusion, because even if I was pregnant the baby wouldn't be anywhere near kicking yet Grin

Welcome to the thread, olismum!

BamBam21 · 10/03/2011 10:23

Hi babylann. I definitely think you should pop along and get yourself registered with the doc, just for peace of mind more than anything. If you can stop feeling stressed, then your body might just settle back down into its proper "rhythm".

I've had the weird fluttery feelings too! No idea what they are though.Confused

BamBam21 · 10/03/2011 14:14

Oh dear, I feel like Molly No-mates today! Where is everybody??Confused

nickelprincess · 10/03/2011 14:14

Bam

BamBam21 · 10/03/2011 14:27

Sorry nickel.Grin Couldn't help myself. I will wait a couple of days before I POAS again.

How are you today?

nickelprincess · 10/03/2011 14:55

alright, thanks!
really tired this morning, though - couldn't get out of bed.
(that's not unusual, I am a lazy cow)
Grin

babylann · 10/03/2011 15:29

I'm exactly the same nickel... Last night I went to bed at 8pm, slept until 8am this morning, and still felt like I had to force myself awake. Feel read for a nap now too - DD just gone for one, and I'm a bit jealous, but I can never force myself to nap while she does because I always thinking "FREEDOM!" and start rushing around doing all the things I've been thinking about all day (right now, for example, checking mumsnet and Facebook, and finding a good recipe for dinner)

Haven't managed to go to the doctors today. The weather wasn't good enough to motivate me to do the 25 minute walk there and back - considering it's just to fill out and hand in a form, not even have an appointment - especially as DD's current pushchair doesn't have a rain cover.

But DP is walking past the doctors on his way home, might ask him to pop in and get us some forms and drop them back next time he goes past.

babylann · 10/03/2011 15:30

oh I meant "ready for a nap".

panpipe · 10/03/2011 17:04

babylann can I join you for a nap? Wink I've had such a busy week - we've got a brass band competition on Sunday so I've been at rehearsal til 10 every night and not home until 11! Two more nights to go then hopefully Saturday morning I can have a lie in before we need to go down to Torquay for it. We're planning to travel down on DH's motorbike; I'm looking forward to it as I won't be able to fit into my leathers for much longer!

I've made an appointment with the doctor for next Thursday. I have no idea what to expect! I guess it'll just be working out dates and things? Should DH come with me for this? It's strange but I still don't 'feel pregnant' despite 2 (well one and a half) positive tests; I don't think I want to allow myself to believe it until I've had confirmation from a professional!

BamBam21 · 10/03/2011 18:42

Hi all! Another one to join the nap group please!Smile I've been a real domestic godess all day, and the flat still looks like a bomb's gone off.Blush DS is in the bath, and once he's in bed DP and I can finally sit down to our tea and maybe a wee Wine.

pan as I remember it, my doctor's appointment was a real anti-climax, just working out a due date (which I'm sure you've already doneWink). He also wanted me to do another test to make sure. The real lovely appointment will be your first with the midwife, when you hear the wee heartbeat.Smile

babylann · 10/03/2011 19:11

My first appointment with the doctor was basically handing over a wee sample so that he could check I was pregnant, and signing up for the smoking cessation thing. I had to go back the week after to do another wee sample because they had sent the first one off to check for an infection, and then AGAIN because they had made the same mistake!

Finally went to my midwife, and that involves a LOT of questions about your health, your husband's health, any previous pregnancies, even things like what qualifications you have, what job you have, whether you're on benefits, whether you'll be applying for the pregnancy grants etc. And then a date for your first scan! :)

I didn't hear DD's heartbeat until I'd already seen her on the scan, so about 12 weeks I think.

You don't need your husband there, but I took along DP because we were both excited and I wanted him to feel a part of everything (plus I have a bit of a doctor phobia). But if he has to take any time off work, you'd probably be better saving that for your scans and important midwife appointments like when they first listen to the heartbeat etc.

babylann · 10/03/2011 19:12

I think my first doctor's appointment was about 5 minutes long (including the time it took to go to the toilet and fill the wee sample), and my first midwife appointment was about an hour long.

PenguinPoo4 · 10/03/2011 23:31

Evening All! If anyones up that is :)
Well, you can all stop admiring my self restraint cos i dont have any! AF due tomorrow and I couldn't wait, ignored all period symptoms and weed on a stick - BFN obviously! Thats it now, I'll use the free tests that are coming with my ovulation sticks but no more buying proper tests without good cause or I wont be able to afford this baby!
I'm off to sulk with a shedload of wine, ice cream and a box set (different time zone to you lot so its not that late here). Good luck to all, I'm far to wrapped up in myself and my own selfish dissapointment to comment on anyone elses recent posts tonight Grin If this is what I'm like after 1 month of TTC I wouldnt want to know me after a year of it! Will check in properly tomorrow x

BamBam21 · 11/03/2011 09:21

Aw penguin, sorry about the BFN.Sad Sometimes we all need to wallow a bit, and there's nothing wrong with that. Hope you feel better today.

Well, I'm still feeling really sick, and ERTD is due in the next couple of days. Really trying not to get my hopes up, as it's happened too many times in the past, only for the red witch to pop up.

I read somewhere that if you write down what you really want, and then burn the paper, it sends your wishes out to the universe and helps you achive it. I know it sounds bonkers, but I might give it a try!GrinHmm

nickelprincess · 11/03/2011 10:37

ah, Penguin sorry about your BFN.
start again, eh!
(or as my DH puts it "oh no, have we got to have sex again?" Grin

This tiredness is driving me nutty!
my alarm goes off at 20 to 8, so i snooze it twice, so I should get up at 8o'clock.
this morning, the second alarm went off, and I thought, "ooh, that's okay, i feel ready to get out of bed", then set it for the 8o'clock.
at 8, I went, "yes, ready to get up", put my arm out of the cover and looked at the window.
next thing I know, it's 1/4 past and i've just woken with a jolt! Shock
oops.

BamBam21 · 11/03/2011 11:06

Hi nickel. How come you're so tired just now? I seem to remember before I found out I was pg with DS I was totally wiped out all the time. Might have been because of the horrible fluey bug I had at the time, but I know it's a "symptom". Any chance?Smile

nickelprincess · 11/03/2011 12:00

dunno! Grin

probably not though!
I tink it's a combination of working 6 days a week (and church on sundays, so no rest) and the early mornings (ie the sun coming up earlier, i'm not getting up earlier!)

Just had a lady come in and drop a couple of flyers "for the staff" - i'm the only staff.
looked at the flyer and it's "overweight people serious about losing weight"
wouldn't mind, but i'm not! :(

Grin
BamBam21 · 11/03/2011 12:37

Grin nickel! I could do with one of those. Although actually I'm not "serious about losing weight"!GrinBiscuit

You certainly sound like you have a busy life though nickel. Can you not get any help in the shop, just to give yourself a break?

Just stupidly ate a Chunky KitKat, and now feel sicker than ever. Still no sign of ERTD. Going a bit mad!

nickelprincess · 11/03/2011 12:39

can't afford help in the shop! Shock

It doesn't help that we did a mad dash to Nottm the weekend before last to meet the new nephew - i haven't really had any proper rest since then.
(looking forward to an evenign when I can have a nap - DH manages it - he just sits down and then off to sleep)

ERTD due today?
ooh.......

BamBam21 · 11/03/2011 12:52

Oh My DP is exactly like that! We can be sat watching TV, I turn round, and he has dozed off. I can be dead on my feet, but can't actually nod off until I'm tucked up in bed.Confused

ERTD isn't officially due until Sunday, but I had some twinges that I thought was it starting, and usually I would be getting spotting by now, but nothing so far. I'm trying to keep my mind off it by obsessively cleaning the flat at the moment!Grin

nickelprincess · 11/03/2011 13:11

he's allowed because he's a postie!
and he looks so cute when he's napping! Grin

crowette · 11/03/2011 13:30

Good Afternoon ladies!!

I've had no internet - again, for a couple of days (got a dongle and waiting for proper broadband to be installed next month, and am restricting myself on my phone internet) so only just been able to get online. First thing I do is log onto facebook, and see my sister in Australia announcing she's going to be an aunt again ... well, it isn't me, that's making her an aunt, so it's my other sister. Read the comments and it turns out my sister who lives a couple of miles away is 14 weeks pregnant with her 4th baby - totally unplanned. I just want to cry - am upset she didn't tell me herself (she doesn't know I'm TTC) and that I have to read it on there, and also that she's not been trying and has 3 already. I know I should be pleased for her, but feel sick Sad

Have been ill myself, so have missed the window to get PG this cycle, am on CD 15 ... think I OV'd a couple of days ago, but was too ill to do anything about it. Am on the verge of giving up some days!

Haven't had time to read through yet, any more BFPs or POAS action to be done?? I need some good news, lol!

Am just off to take my feeling out on a good old spring clean of the flat Grin

nickelprincess · 11/03/2011 13:44

never mind. Brew Biscuit

your time will come

in the meantime, think of it as a way for your body to have a good rest. :)
(resting doesn't include cleaning)

crowette · 11/03/2011 15:12

I am resting now - swept and mopped/scrubbed the floors and was about to tackle the mountain of CDs and DVDs that need sorting and putting away neatly, when I realised I've not stopped for even a cuppa since I got up this morning. Now I'm relaxing with a Brew and being entertained by the cat going scatty with the catnip I put on her scratch post (to try to save my sofa Hmm)

I may pluck up the courage to call my sister in a bit, or wait until OH comes home, spill my feelings to him first.

Now, to dig out those biscuits! Grin
