The (updated)(again)(again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you've had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). (But it does work).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.
OV is ovulation - I'm allowed to forget what date I've OVd, feel free to join me on that one!

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Quiet on here atm!

Babylann Have you POAS yet???

LizzyMathsWhizzy · 27/02/2011 16:49

Babylann I think ov just happens and you are fertile for a couple of days before hand, I don't think it makes any difference how long your cycle is. I have a reasonably long cycle at 30 days, but I seem to ovulate on day 9 most months, which should mean I have a short cycle. You can chart temperatures or study your pant snot to work out when you ovulate. I'm doing the temperature thing on fertilityfriend.com just out of interest. Please don't all slap me with fishes!

Dee I can only assume people are busy JSingWI Grin

We should make up a story to get the thread chatting again. I'll start

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there lived a...

Who's next?

babylann · 27/02/2011 20:07

We've been so busy this weekend we haven't even had a chance to go to the shop to buy a POAS.

Then this evening I've got a really weird, uncomfortable feeling in my stomach - nothing like usual ERTD pain or early pregnancy cramps I had with DD. I'm getting really worried to be honest, it feels really unusual. More like labour pain, actually.

So DP has just rushed out to go and buy me a test and I'm running a bath. Hopefully I'll have some more clear news later this evening or tomorrow.

BamBam21 · 27/02/2011 20:24

Hi ladies! Just thought I'd say hello. Really exhausted tonight, but no chance of JSing anyway as DP is asleep on the couch! Got some in last night though! Grin

Hope your horse is better nelly, and sorry about the rubbish ERTD.

Really excited for you babylann! Try not to worry, and let us know how it goes.

Hi to everyone else. Hope you all had lovely weekends.

deemented · 27/02/2011 21:31

Hope everythings ok, Babylann.

deemented · 28/02/2011 09:28

Hey folks Smile

Anyone here?

BamBam21 · 28/02/2011 10:17

Morning dee, and everyone else! Smile

Hoping you are okay today babylann and that you managed to POAS. Fingers crossed for you.

Well DP woke up last night so we got some JSing in, and again this morning!Grin Only problem is that I have my smear teast appointment this afternoon. Confused I will tell them I'm TTC and see what they say, as this is definitely my "window".

deemented · 28/02/2011 10:34

Ohhh.... I'd be tempted to put it off if it were me, BamBam. But i'm a naughty carebear like that Wink

kateepie2 · 28/02/2011 10:55

Maybe you should put it off bambam !

Fingers crossed for babylann let us know when you know anything... waiting with bated breath!

Morning dee how are you today?

I'm feeling less inclined to vom now I have eaten half my bodyweight this morning... oops.

BamBam21 · 28/02/2011 10:59

Oh I thought about doing that dee. I decided that I should go along but say that I'm TTC, and then take their advice. I feel like I might be quite fertile this month (ovulation twinges, pant snot etc) and I don't want to risk anything, but I don't know whether getting a smear test would be a risk. Confused

PenguinPoo4 · 28/02/2011 12:43

How'd everything go Babylann? Fingers crossed for you!
Just had my first weekend where I think i should've been ovulating (not charting, just hoping I ovulate around day 14 like most people), so lots of shagging - well, as much as I could manage considering i got drunk Grin I wonder if I will have ovulated last weekend though, as it was my first month of being off the pill? Anyone know? There were loads of families where I spent the weekend, kids everywhere and everone keeping an eye on each others little ones (small community), it was lovely and just showed that it's possible to have a good time when you are a parent, doesnt all stop. Cant wait!
BamBam - what did they say about you having the smear? Am interested to know if it's a risk or not.

BamBam21 · 28/02/2011 12:52

Hi penguin. Your weekend sounds lovely.

I don't have the smear until 3.30 today, but I googled it and it seems that it doesn't affect anything and is quite safe. Mind you, it said that pregnant women get a smear to make sure everything is fine, but I don't remember that when I had DS! Hmm

PenguinPoo4 · 28/02/2011 14:13

Oh well good to know that it's not risky. Fingers crossed for a BFP for you and all the other ladies on this thread :)
I wish I 'felt fertile', wouldnt have a clue what an ovulation twinge feels like! I was talking to a couple this weekend who're newly pregnant, took them a year, hope it doesnt take me that long. Think I might have to try and plan lots of things to keep me from getting obsessed about TTC. Moving into a new house in a few months, so I can keep myself busy buying furniture for that (NO baby stuff allowed till I get BFP!). I may also begin a tradition - hopefully a very short running tradition - of buying myself a posh bottle of wine every month if I get my period, as a kind of consolation prize Grin Anyone else give themselves little treats to help compensate for BFN dissapointment?

BamBam21 · 28/02/2011 14:19

Love your BFN treat idea penguin!Grin I just indulge in lots of Galaxy washed down with vodka and coke usually!Wink

The ovulation thing just feels a bit like the yucky dull cramp that you get with ERTD. Secretly hoping it might be implantation, although no spotting. I've had it the last couple of days. Really want a BFP, but will have to wait a fortnight!Confused I am officially on the 2WW now!Grin

PenguinPoo4 · 28/02/2011 14:28

Ooh, I'm on my first 2WW now as well! I keep getting urges to do 'naughty' things like randomly pop into the pub for a post work G&T - I never normally do that, but it's as if I just want to do all the things that I know I won't be able to do for a long time after I get the BFP. I think it's more about the freedom than the alcohol to be honest.

BamBam21 · 28/02/2011 14:45

Yeah, yeah penguin! Grin Only joking, I know how you feel. DS is 7, and I sometimes wish so much that DP and I could just go for a walk or go to the pub. I miss the freedom, but being a mum is so special, and it actually makes me quite sad to think how fast he is growing up.Sad

Glad we are on the 2WW together. Fingers crossed for us both! Smile

babylann · 28/02/2011 20:10

Hello all. So much drama here... We got a POAS last night, which already had the lines filled in when we opened the pack Hmm so had to wait AGAIN until today as the chemist was closed.

Deciding not to take any chances, I got DP to get two digital ones...

The first one malfunctioned... Came up with a little "error" symbol, which the instructions told me means "take another test".

So then about an hour ago I decided to be really serious and PIAR instead (literally - don't think I'll be using that for my desserts again). Not pregnant

Sad I'm so concerned now. Why are my periods so irregular? I tried making a doctor's appointment earlier but apparently, without telling me, they've sent my details off to a different surgery (about 30 mins away compared to the two streets away my current doctors is) and the woman on the phone sounded so irritating, refusing to tell me whether or not I could actually re-register at their clinic.

I just feel so awful. I'm scared I'm infertile, I keep having weird tummy cramps, I've not had two consecutive months where I've had a normal period for over a year and a half and I feel like I've put everything on hold to have another baby which may never actually be conceived.

SadAngry

I really need such a massive rant about life in general, but I've been snappy with DP all evening so he's being overly cautious with me. I just don't know what to do at the moment. Sad

deemented · 28/02/2011 20:16

Oh Sweetheart, i'm sorry. I'm thinking an appointment with your doctor and possibly a scan to see what the feck is going on may be of some use? And of course you know that FMU is really the best to use.

It must be awful to be kept in limbo like this, i really feel for you (cwtches)

babylann · 28/02/2011 20:36

Thanks :) Yeah I know dee but I'm just growing so impatient, having waited over a week since my last test and then having two malfunction, so I just wanted to get in there and do it! So silly of me, but I guess I figured that it would be quite a clear result seeing as I'm so far "overdue" - if I even have a cycle anymore! I'll get another test on Friday, I guess. And I'll go and register at the clinic tomorrow.

But I actually had a "post-natal" ultrasound when DD was about 5 months and they said everything was back to normal down there, no problems could be detected and I definitely wasn't pregnant. I keep wondering if something went wrong when I was pregnant, I bled heavily for 9 weeks after she was born and have only had 3 periods since - one which lasted one day and made me commit my first act of theft (stealing bedsheets from the hotel we stayed in because it looked like I'd murdered someone) and one of which was two weeks long and never got more heavy than a "light spotting".

deemented · 28/02/2011 20:39

Oh it's really strange. Have you been on the pill or any hormone contraception at all?

babylann · 28/02/2011 21:56

Nope. Not since I was sixteen anyway! Smile

Not sure what to make of it, to be honest. I thought stress, but I've been a lot less anxious since my operation (unrelated illness), and thought getting that worry out of the way "fixed" me as I had a normal period a few weeks after.

So, unless I have an insanely long cycle now, there's something wrong down there.

PenguinPoo4 · 01/03/2011 09:06

Oh Babylann, I'm sorry you're having such a shit time. I dont know much about conception problems, but I was under the impression that there was almost always something that could be done to help. I hope you do go to the doctor so that you can either be reassured or have some help formulating a plan of action. I'd be so happy if yours was the next BFP on this thread, not mine. Fingers crossed for that. x

BamBam21 · 01/03/2011 09:49

Oh babylann I'm so sorry you are so down and worried. Definitely get along to your doctor and talk it through with them. I know it's impossible to avoid, but maybe stress is affecting things, and talking to the doctor might help.

Well I had my smear yesterday, and it was really quite sore. Sad Never found it sore in the past, but I suppose it depends on who does the test. I still have the period-type cramps in my tummy, and keep feeling very hot. Anyway, to reassure anybody who is wondering, I quizzed the nurse and she said there was no risk in having a smear test, even if you are TTC or newly pregnant. It doesn't cause MC or any other problems.

BamBam21 · 01/03/2011 11:55

Yoo-hooo! Anyone around today? Smile

kateepie2 · 01/03/2011 12:03

I'm here! Just not much in mind/body... sickness has overtaken me today, so feel quite grim.

Hope you're not still sore BamBam !
