The (updated)(again)(again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you've had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). (But it does work).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.
OV is ovulation - I'm allowed to forget what date I've OVd, feel free to join me on that one!

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Wedding sounds lovely Dee. Intimate weddings are the way, leaves more money for the honeymoon (and baby stuff!) :)
Congrats Katie! Am pleased you've gone off the booze, will make it much easier to keep healthy I'm sure. Knowing my luck, when I'm knocked up I'll be craving tequila slammers!
Am learning a lot from this thread already. Had know idea that some people can tell when they've ovulated, and hadn't heard of implantation pain Confused
Also, it may be because we don't have any kids yet, but I cant imagine shagging ever feeling like a chore! I'm sure if you're TTC for a long while it's inevitable - but just so I know, at what point does this happen? How many more months of stress free sex do I have to look forward to?!

deemented · 21/02/2011 16:24

Quite possibly, Nickel, quite possibly!

Evening ladies.

Just popping in to say hello. Nothing going on, still coming to terms with colleague being pg and whingeing about it, plus mam's friend's daughtr who got married 2 weeks after us just gave birth, her bro's gf is due in a couple of weeks and another friend's sis is pg. Seems like everyone but us Sad

Hope everyone is well? Have I missed any BFPs?

xx

babylann · 21/02/2011 23:49

Hello all :)

DP making me wait until Friday til I take my next test. I guess it makes sense. I have no idea what is going on with me, I must be 2 weeks late now (can't say for sure as my periods took a little vacation until the last one came along). Get the occasional twinges which feel like the very early stages of labour, but still BFNs. Well, I took my last test on Saturday. Today I stupidly decided there can't be any valid reason why pregnancy tests can't be re-used (I know Blush) so I re-took it but hey, it turns out they CAN'T be re-used. The little bar that goes temporarily pink didn't go temporarily pink, it just went wee coloured. So embarrassed... but I needed answers and didn't have any unused tests lying around! Grin

So, maybe I'll have more answers in a few days time. Can't stand it!

My friend has invited me over on Friday for a mocktail, as she seems quite positive I'll definitely have good news. I wasn't planning on telling anyone but I saw her after four or five glasses of Wine and couldn't help but tell her. So unlike me.. Confused

I'm beginning to think I'm going crazy!

BamBam21 · 22/02/2011 10:08

Morning everybody.

Congratulations dee! That's lovely news. Hope MIL will behave herself and be happy for you both.

Glad everything is going well for you katee.

Sorry for all the ERTDs and BFPs. Hope everybody is fine and happy.

No news here. ERTD finally went away on Sunday, so we are getting some serious JSing in. Smile

nickelbabe · 22/02/2011 10:20

babylann - i am very impressed by your scientific brain Grin

babylann · 22/02/2011 14:46

I have no idea about Science. I scraped a C at GCSE. But, what I figured was - the two little lines obviously have chemicals in them which react to the chemicals in wee. If I use it once, surely those chemicals don't just disappear? Well, turns out they do Wink AND I'm one of those people who won't believe it til I see it, so at least I know now! Grin I guess I was skeptical thinking, they might be re-usable, it's hardly like they're going to be advertised as re-usable or they won't be able to sell more than one per person. So, now I just have to invent one that can be re-used. And with my scientific brilliance, I'm sure I'll manage [cough cough]

kateepie2 · 22/02/2011 15:20

If you could find a way of reintroducing dye you could make them reuseable babylann - the reason being that the antibodies on the strip make the dye stick to them if hcg is detected. Felt tip??? Grin

babylann · 22/02/2011 23:02

Maybe I'll have to give that a try! It would save me a lot of money anyway. Even when I'm not TTC, I tend to take about 6 pg tests a year before I'm even late just because I start panicking. Hmm See, told you I was crazy!

kateepie2 · 23/02/2011 08:25

At babylann Grin

kateepie2 · 23/02/2011 12:34

Where'd everyone go?

Surely there must be some more poas action - anyone???

Hmm
nickelbabe · 23/02/2011 12:46

i'm here!

had very crap ERTD problems this mornign - blood everywhere :(
i've not had one this bad for months.

ah, well.

kateepie2 · 23/02/2011 13:19

I've been there Nickel, I'm sure my periods were extra heavy after I started ttc? All that stuff about ERTD being 'about an eggcupfull' is complete and utter bollocks!

Has it settled down now? Have a Biscuit or three!

(why oh why MN does a biscuit stand for 'no comment'???)

babylann · 23/02/2011 14:06

Sorry to hear about your ERTD being so bad nickel :(

I am 2 days away from undoubtedly another BFN. I'd obviously rather have a BFP, but actually I'd be happy with an ERTD right now to put my mind at rest.

nickelbabe · 23/02/2011 15:40

i'm on cocodamol and dairy milk! Grin

feeling better ,but still yucky.

deemented · 23/02/2011 15:43

Good combo, Nickel - hope you're feeling better soon (cwtches)

For some reason i keep thinking today is Saturday and wanting to test...

kateepie2 · 23/02/2011 16:02

wednesday, dee wednesday... Grin you could just poas anyway?

nickel hope the dairy milk does its stuff Wink

deemented · 23/02/2011 16:07

Hmmm... i might in the morning...

PenguinPoo4 · 23/02/2011 18:51

Hope you feel better Nickel! Dont know what an ERTD is, but if it means period, maybe you could have a vat of wine to cheer yourself up? Nothing like co codomol, dairy milk and merlot for pain relief Grin

crowette · 23/02/2011 23:20

Halloooooooo ladies :) sorry I've not been about ... no internet for a bit and relying on my phone. Have I missed anything?

AF due here any day now (cycles been anything from 26 to 30 days lately, so who knows) Hmm had AF style cramps last week and thought she was going to be very early, but no. Slightly tender boobs, nothing compared to last month. Very slight cramping sensations this evening, so think AF is on the way :(

Am currently holed up in bed because I'm shattered ... fell asleep on the sofa while watching programme I really wanted to see, typical! I ache all over, my arms feel like lead.

Hope everyone is keeping well :)

JosieSmith1 · 24/02/2011 10:26

Hi everyone

I know I'm not supposed to be on here but there's nowhere else I can get the kind of support I really need right now

Colleague had a scan yesterday and now the picture is sitting directly opposite my eye line so everytime I look up I see it. She knows what's going on, surely she'd be a bit more careful. I can't stop welling up everytime I see it, or anytime someone even talks to me! I've tried so hard to be strong and put on a face but I'm starting to crack and I can't stop it. It just hurts so much I feel like I can't breathe.

Nickel sorry you;re having a hard one. Hope the dairy milk is helping

Sorry ERTd is on the way Crow Sad

Fingers crossed for your test Dee

Hope you get an answer Babylann obviously preferably in the form of a BFP

kateepie2 · 24/02/2011 10:48

Hi Josie big hug for you.

Do people in your office know that you are ttc? If not, it might be worth confiding in someone who can tactfully tell your colleague to be a bit more discreet.

Can you move your chair or desk a bit so its not so in your face?

Honestly, some people are so thoughtless Angry

Also, how long have you been ttc? If it is affecting you so much you should probably go and talk to your gp or try and find a charity which would offer some counselling, as this really isn't good for you Josie, that kind of stress is bound to affect anyone xx

JosieSmith1 · 24/02/2011 11:33

Thanks Katiepie, the three other people in the office know because they noticed I was upset and asked if I was ok. I couldn't talk so I emailed them telling them what was going on! So embarrassing. They were really good and said I could talk to them anytime but I don't want to talk about it, I want to not feel this way. I'm going through one of those stages where everything seems to be going wrong - the car, the house, the tv broke, I can't get off the yard I hate, it's all just building up at the minute and I need something to give. It's only been 8 months so I feel daft getting this stressed this early on. It's also partly because someone who got married 2 weeks after us (round about when we started ttcing) just gave birth, and her bro's gf is due anytime now and it feels so unfair. I think heartbroken is the most appropriate way to describe how I feel

I honestly don't know how you ladies stay so positive throughout this process. I thought I was a strong person but now I feel really weak!

kateepie2 · 24/02/2011 11:57

Josie, go and see your GP... feeling this stressed is seriously not going to help you conceive.

And, embarrassing though it may be, howabout a full blown rant in the office - if these people are so insensitive it sounds as though they need a kick up the arse!

xx

nickelbabe · 24/02/2011 11:58

is this thread like where all ladies who work in an office together get ERTD at the same time?
Grin

penguinPoo - yes it is period - it stands for evil red tide of doom! Grin
