Hellooooo-oooo....Let's carry on with the drinking curly! Grin Let's get the last of the bombay mix before the others get here Wink

gumblossom · 03/02/2011 00:34

Bloody Hell! That was a friggin' marathon to catch up with you lot. Looks like I'll have to swig half a bottle of Bombay Saphire to catch up!

Oh Big Fat Bugger, Curly. That totally sucks, when you had your hopes up. Don't give up sweetie, it will happen.

And that goes for the rest of you - it will happen - hang in there and SWI with gusto!

I'm gearing up for that myself. God, I hope I ovulate before the 15th as my DH is off on a school camp for two nights. I really wish I had a CBFM now. I sold it after having Charlie, thinking I'd never need it again. Grr, wish I'd hung onto it.Now I think, Oh I won't buy one cos I'll be up the duff this month...I've thought that for some time now, and don't know if it is worth buying another. It takes weeks to get here, as they aren't sold in Australia, and I have to get it from the US.Then you have to buy the sticks. It really adds up with postage. So I stick to OPKs and wish I still had the monitor!

Curly, if you join Fertility Friend, it will run you through a crash course on temping etc and then you'll be the full bottle like us old temperees.

Deige are you taking B6? I think it is meant to help with LP length?

I've been reading up on it, and I think acupuncture and chinese herbs may help. Randine Lewis says the LP is influenced by what happens in the first part of the cycle and it relates to estrogen. Can't recall all the details, but she makes suggestions for fixing by tonifying the kidney and spleen - taking things like royal jelly, blue-green algae, wheatgrass, fish oil, dark green vegies and green tea. She also suggests that you stay away from dairy products and cold foods. But that's just the Traditional Chinese way of looking at it.

I'm going back to acupuncture soon. I should go before the next ovulation, so better hop to it.

Better go, have neglected DS for long enough I think!Grin

SameOldJollster · 03/02/2011 08:53

No SWI here last night as DS woke just as we were off to bed, so I ended up with the hot breath on my cheek and the iron-clamped embrace of a 2 year old for most of the night. Not quite what I had in mind Hmm. It's probably too late for another SWI tonight (CD15) so am likely to be pulling the drawbridge up for another pointless and fruitless and depressing 2ww.

Hope everyone ok and not too many sore heads this morning - you ok Hippy??

hippychick66 · 03/02/2011 09:54

Hippy holds her head and sticks her sunglasses on.... ohhhhh my head!

Seriously though, had a great night with you guys Grin.

I think I tried about 3 times to add a message to the old thread before I worked out what was going on then I wandered about looking for the new thread - so i'm here and I'm marking my place.

The spotting has increased so AF is defo on her way although I wouldn't count this as CD1 yet - IYSWIM.

Well at least with all these people getting AF now - our DH's are guaranteed a shag for valentines day Smile. Odd that so many of us are syncronised - just like the nuns!

My latest thoughts are these:- When i first had the two losses I was so desperate to be pregnant agaian and could not face the fact that we might not have another baby. Now it's been 8 months since the last loss and i am feeling better about getting AF, I wasn't upset when i realised we hadn't hit the jackpot this month just a bit pissed off. Anyway, I feel I am at a place where if we were defo not gonna have another baby I would HONESTLY be ok about it (maybe just a bit wistful and melancholy but not devastated).

Now what is worrying me is this:- what if i get preggers again and then lose that one too - especially if it's a later loss or i need an EPRC - will I then go back to being desperate to be preggers again? Do you see what i mean? Shoud I stop now whilst I'm ok about it and also very distracted by the whole 'start a new life in the country' thing? I know that only I can decide that and you will all have different feelings on the subject (especially as some of you are in a different emotional place to me). But just wondered if you had any thoughts. God, I do waffle when i want to, don't I? Grin

hippychick66 · 03/02/2011 09:56

lou crossed posts. Glad you got AF (you know what i mean). I told you she was coming! Please please please start the smiley faces early this month - I can't bare the suspense if you miss it Wink

louisesh · 03/02/2011 10:12

Glad you enjoyed them Curly Wink.Voddy used to be my choice of drink until i blacked out big time about 7 years ago at my friends house!!! Scared me to death i had no recollection of anything for about 12 hours that was the end of that!!! Mmmm...voddy and red bull... so i ll drink it through you CurlY .

Don t worry Hip i ll be testing as soon as present from Amazon arrives probably from cd 6,bring it on.

Right off, got last counselling session then out for tea with friends.Have a good day all.See you later XXXX

Curlylox · 03/02/2011 10:14

Just read your post hippy, imo if having another baby is what you want then continue trying and then cross whatever bridge comes up. I know that is not very helpful but I understand how you feel and I'm pretty sure a few if not all of the other ladies feel the same.

OP posts:
Curlylox · 03/02/2011 10:15

lou which smiley sticks do you use? What day do you start testing from and why?

OP posts:
hippychick66 · 03/02/2011 11:10

Thanks curly for your thoughts. I think i'd probaby say the same if someone else was asking for advise. Maybe I'll just keep trying for a bit longer - but I am getting on a bit Sad. remind me can you please, how old are you? Have you had any MC's? I think i keep getting you muddled up with spotty Blush just cos spotty and curly are both descriptive words, i think!

Lovely, that your hubbie waited and cuddled you last night. It's nice when they appreciate how we are feeling. Smile

SameOldJollster · 03/02/2011 11:14

hippy two words
Cherie
Blair
xx

hippychick66 · 03/02/2011 11:26

Grin It's funny you should say that cos there was a thing on the tv about women having babies at an older age etc and they quoted that Cherie was 45 when she had her last baby and my DS1 said, "Hey, Mum, there you go, you can have one after all!"

(Mind you this is from a nearly 11 year old who thinks you only have to do it once to get pregnant - and he's not 100% sure what IT is!)

SameOldJollster · 03/02/2011 11:36

yeah and I doubt TB had the sort of schedule that allowed for SMEP... Hmm.

Curlylox · 03/02/2011 11:45

hippy I'm 43 will be 44 in May and had a mc last year at 10+1 on 6th Feb. Got to run have dentist appoitment at noon, yikes. Flaming pregnancy tests turned up this morning.

OP posts:
hippychick66 · 03/02/2011 12:16

Thanks for reminding me curly - I will not forget againBlush - Hippy taps her addled old brain!

So you are a bit younger than me - I too had a MMC last feb as did BB. Sad to think we should all have had little ones now Sad Ahh well, must not bring things down. Sorry the preggo tests arrived - how shit is that!

jolls love the idea of cherie telling tony that they have to do the deed. Think there's was more of a happy accident!

hippychick66 · 03/02/2011 12:17

theirs not there's!

Diege · 03/02/2011 12:38

Hello! Thanks for helping with the washing up Jolls! Hope we're recovered in time for tomorrow's bistro!
Gum that's interesting about the lp chinese diet thing. I do take AC that has been quite succesful in the past (moving lp from 9 to 13 days) but it doesn't seem to be working now Hmm. I think my hormone levels are all over the place tbh. My temp rose (as opposed to falls, as it should) the day of af, and has now fallen spectacularly from 36.60 (cd 1, usually around 36.35 on cd 1) down to 35.89 on cd 2 Hmm. Very heavy, painful period too that kept me awake last night Hmm
It is odd that we're all synchronised - though nun's we're not!
I am going to force myself to the gym now..
Oh and mean to say Hippy I feel very much as you do - I am starting to think things may not happen (maybe the ease that I conceived ds - first time trying at 39) was in fact the so-called 'fertility rush' you get before pre-menopause? Confused. Feel ok, but as you say quite melancholy. Oh and CB also had a mc before Leo, (and one after too from what I've read) Sad.
Right, better get my gym bag. Back later x

fifitot · 03/02/2011 13:33

Excuse me for popping in - saw this and thought I'd post. Was 46 when conceived number 2, previous poster on the 40something threads.

Good luck - can be done!

panashe · 03/02/2011 14:18

Hello

Probably a bit premature as only had 'complete miscarriage' confirmed by second scan this morning but know that at 41 have no time to waste so looking forward to getting intimate with dp again very soon :)

Don't want to offend anyone or feel a fraud as had children in my twenties, but in new relationship and we want a baby and am finding that it is becoming a full time obsession when really I should chill. Am 42 in august and had made decision with partner to give it 12 months and see what happens but you lot may inspire me to keep going into next year if neccesary.

Hope you don't mind me popping in over the coming weeks and months :)

Curlylox · 03/02/2011 14:18

Thank you fifitot very encouraging words. But would like more details please you can't just pop in and flounce off again.........please come back
