  1. Lurking in baby names on a daily basis, desperate to post

  1. Checking the baby name statistics for both country and area

  1. Surfing Amazon to read reviews of pregnancy books- but not buying any

  1. Working out how pregnant I could be if I get pregnant this month at key events this year like weddings, holidays

5.Regularly checking the local nursery's website for information

Not signing up to a 12 month contract at gym. I mean, what a waste of money when you will be too busy with the baby to go...

What number are we on?? Around 90, I reckon. We are quite a strange lot, when you see all the weird stuff we do written out like this!!

number . Buying stuff in the Mthercare sale, as you will need it soon and little white vests will always be useful.

This thread is really making me chuckle

90ish. Gravitating towards the Hamley's store at St Pancras station every time you realise that you're just not going to make the train that departs in 10 minutes' time....

91ish Forfeiting the free Wine on your train journey home as all the symptom spotting means you are absolutely convinced that you are up the duff this month (even though your period has only just started)

92ish. Having a cupboard full of toys in the house, purchased from Hamley's at St Pancras station, and kidding yourself its just in case your goddaughter / godson comes to stay

93ish. Realising that you don't actually have a goddaughter / godson Blush

94ish. Gently explaining to DC1 as she lies on the changing table that she needs to be careful with where she's waving her feet and not kick the bab...mummy's tummy as it might hurt.
95ish. Doubling up in pain when DC1 lands on your boobs when climbing into bed with you, and celebrating the sore boobs moment - definite symptom, and not the result of a toddler being enthusiastic!

96ish: Deciding there is no point going on a diet, as that bump will soon be a baby, not flab.

This thread is great! Only been trying since november, promised my DH i would not obsess but have done loads of these!
Accidently admitted to some friends that the birthing pool on 'one born every minute' looked like a good idea.
I do the standing up one quickly, working out how pregnant i will be at different times and LOVE fantasising about telling my DH!!!

97ish. Avoiding brie, when brie and cranberry sauce is usually a fave snack. In fact, avoiding any food that may have been remotely implicated in foetal ill-health.
98ish. Explaining said avoidance to family. Who feels the need to cut down on brie, ffs?!

  1. Cutting pictures of nursery furniture out of magazine to put on my house decoration mood boards.

  2. Cutting pictures of babies and small children to put in the rooms on my mood boards.

Oh dear. I didn't even realise this was nuts until I started reading this thread.....

PMSL! Grin
I am normal after all!

I have done practically all of these Blush

Apart from buying the baby spell from ebay - a clear winner!

No. 5,125: Reminding DH that apparently straws are, like, THEEE most important thing for your hospital bag. Don't forget.

No. 5,126: Having a list of things to pack in your hospital bag Blush

I thought of another:

Baby madness 101: Religiously watching the credits of tv programmes and films to check out good names for said baby that has not yet been conceived.

Number-a-lot: Researching good places to give birth in your area. Knowing more about your choices with birthing centres etc than your friend who is due in a few months time.

Folicacid Me too! And then boring poor DH with names I saw on credits and asking which ones he likes best/which ones go well with surname and already chosen middle names etc

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but I found myself doing it today. Blush

102 ish: despite using a pack of tampons since Friday desperately trying to convince myself that its an "implantation bleed"!

Folicacid · 07/02/2011 08:33

Totally newgolddream, if you also do a preggers test now on that basis you'll be ticking off another in the top 100!

103 ish, 8 DPO, in the office, grabbing your own boobs every 10 mins to see if they still feel sore, oblivious to what surrounding colleagues will make of one doing this.

104 ish, not content with doing 103, wondering further whether one can get away with looking down one's shirt and bra whilst sitting at desk, to see if nipples have got any larger/darker.

ConfusedConfused

I am now going to think about my work and not about my (hypothetical) baby...

105ish Having a minor emergency each month when I have to make a mad dash to the shop for the tampons that I have been refusing to buy in the vain hope I'll be pregnant.

I have enjoyed all the posts! I've indulged in nearly all of these. Oh, and what about:

106ish researching nappy options and the pros and cons of cloth nappy 'systems' for imaginary baby

DoeaDeer 105ish Grin Can I add an addendum to that one?

Folic This is a really great thread that you've started!

KnackeredCow · 07/02/2011 11:33

DoeaDeer Sorry fogot to add addendum of sending DH to buy tampons as by the time there's a full admission AF has arrived, it's impossible to leave the house.

DoeADeer · 07/02/2011 12:41

Hey Knackered! Indeed, don't know what I'd have done without all those forgotten, slightly battered looking tampons lurking in the bottom corners of handbags. Ugh!

I have requested that this be moved to Classics (no idea what MNHQ will say, but it would be a shame if this slipped down the threads and got lost - it has made me feel so lovely and normal that I think it might also help others Grin).
