A continuation of so many threads spent waiting to ttc that I've completely forgotten what number thread we're on.

If you're waiting to ttc, stop by and say hello! Smile

AC - I am a great believer in sod's law, so IMO if you get on with TTC now and get pg, that makes it more likely you will get the job Grin

(and if you don't then at least you'll be pg Shock)

anyway, best of luck and hope you hear soon.

AmandaCooper · 28/05/2011 19:33

I like your thinking!

bebejones · 28/05/2011 20:10

Great thinking minipie!

Feeling rubbish tonight. Been to a 1st birthday party for a friends little boy. One of our friends is 'secretly' PG (ie I'm not supposed to know but do) and some people did obviously know & weren't being too secretive about it. Lot's of 'Oooh congrats, shhhh!' tapping of noses & winking! Envy Aaaarrrggghh!! Stupid broody f'ing hormones! Just SOD OFF!

AmandaCooper · 29/05/2011 10:36

There's now another thread dedicated to invoking sods law as well! I might join it!

DH has started saying "maybe next month" now, which is not promising.

Ratata · 29/05/2011 17:06

So true minipie, sod's law is a powerful thing!

I hope you get out of limbo soon Amanda, not a nice place to be in.

5.5 months til we start TTC... not that I'm counting.

Things at work are really stressful just now. I'm being overworked and my boss is trying to get me put forward for a promotion which would mean me getting to do the work I actually enjoy (stuff that requires lots of brain usage and technical things I really like to do) and leaving all the more junior stuff behind me (all the monotonous time consuming stuff). But as usual upper management aren't doing anything about it and I'm being left doing loads of work and getting stressed. Totally broke down to my fiance the other night about it all. Grrr. So glad I have tomorrow off!

notthehippopotamus · 29/05/2011 18:05

Definitely like minipie's thinking.

Sympathy to bebejones and Ratata - hope things move on/ease off for you soon. :)

Looks like I'm back with you guys. After just one month of TTC we've decided that until I get a permanent job sorted we can't really afford to do it.
The problem is that I am the bread winner so if my works stops we are in real trouble.

AmandaCooper · 30/05/2011 20:24

Well for what it's worth, welcome back. How's the job market? Any chance things will turn round soon?

Might be out of limbo today if they tell me they don't want to invite me back for round two. Hope not... I think!

OP posts:
minipie · 31/05/2011 10:36

fingers crossed AC - hope you get to round two

hello Pipbin, sorry to hear about your job situation, that does seem an incredibly long time for your employer to decide... but I guess it depends on the other teacher's circumstances.

Technically I'm no longer a "waiter" since we are now TTC - but it hasn't worked yet Sad so I'll hang around here a bit longer if that's ok!

Still waiting to hear. The enormity of the outcome either way is pretty overwhelming!

xposts AC, what I said still stands though!

AmandaCooper · 31/05/2011 14:16

Well I didn't get through. No idea why.

OP posts:
minipie · 31/05/2011 16:51

Sorry to hear that AC - and how frustrating not to get feedback Sad

On the plus side... you are now free to TTC, no?

Shock Shock Shock
AmandaCooper · 31/05/2011 19:04

I have to say I don't much feel like TTC at the moment I feel like a massive failure who's never going to get out of this job I despise.

OP posts:
Pipbin · 31/05/2011 20:17

bebe That's the problem, of course you can't sack someone because they've been off sick. But also you have to know you can rely on your staff.

I just wish there was a way that you could just say 'I shall conceive this month please' it's going to be so annoying if it turns out I've waited simply for it to take 12 months.

AmandaCooper · 31/05/2011 21:18

Tell me about it, I've waited nearly two years, I expect instant updiffedness.

OP posts:
ChantingAsISpeak · 31/05/2011 21:56

I've decided...sod waiting! :) I have lost some weight (4lbs and I'll have lost a stone, already lost another 1.5 last year), joined the gym, started taking the pre-preg tabs, and feeding them to OH, and am part way through my second month charting.

I have to say that the charting has actually been very interesting - seeing the patterns emerge and realising that it wasn't my memory playing tricks, my cycles do vary quite a bit. It has also helped me feel a bit more in control and, to be honest, that is my biggest fear - losing control. I have done a huge amount of reading recently about the whole process, so feel that I now have a better idea of what to expect. I've even had a quick online look at possible hospitals Blush - I know, I'm jumping the gun.

It is too late this cycle - very early ov - but I now have some ov sticks, cheapo pg tests and 2 expensive digi ones on the way. I will enjoy the rest of this cycle and eat and drink to my heart's content...and then I will jump OH like a wanton banshee!

Thanks to Mumsnet peoples for removing my posts. I worry about saying too much about my situation in a public forum.

AmandaCooper · 31/05/2011 23:40

Do you want me to remove my replies? How do I ask them?
