A continuation of so many threads spent waiting to ttc that I've completely forgotten what number thread we're on.

If you're waiting to ttc, stop by and say hello! Smile

That is exciting JSFN! Congratulations

What's wrong with a pregnant bridesmaid? Anyway, you don't know how soon it will happen. Don't make yourself wait! :-)

My cousin got engaged recently, wedding in December. I'm not a bridesmaid, but I am hoping I'll have a bump to show off :-)

Weekend was tiring and OMG - this +1 hour thing kicked me in the arse way harder than I was expecting. Bleurgh.

Hubby's 30th this week. I have about 3 cakes to make, then my mum's b-day at the end of the week and mother's day then easter sneaks up - so more cake and cooking and expense. Am feeling stretched v thing atm. I pray we don't end up with a spring baby! Just waiting for my first natural AF now...

JustShaggingForNow · 28/03/2011 11:02

I'm not sure about the pregnant BM thing. I was hoping to start TTC next month when we are away but then if we had some freakist turn of luck and caught straight away I would be due in Jan and really do no want to be 8 1/2 months PG at my sister's wedding!

Chatted to DH about it last night and he thinks we should start whenever we are ready and is happy with TTC on holiday. He doesn't think it would be an issue to be PG for her wedding. Now I just have to hope that she decides on Spring so that there is a possibility I can get upduffed, give birth and then go to the wedding!!

It's good that he is now so on board with the TTC thing and we will just have to wait and see what date DSis chooses and then go form there. I'll probably chat to her and see how she would fee about hvaing a PG BM as it's her big day and not mine!!

Sounds like a very busy time for you Cakes Bebe is our resident baking expert - she makes AMAZING cakes!

bebejones · 28/03/2011 11:23

Blush My ears were burning!!! Wink

Planning a simnel cake for Easter as have never made one before & haven't done a 'big' cake in a month now & feel a bit out of practise!

Was planning on talking to DH over the weekend but life got in the way as usual. Now thinking that leaving it to Mother's day might be a good idea...for maximum effect! :o

JS - How exciting bout your little sister! Personally I don't think I'd want to be 8 months PG and a bridesmaid, but don't think you should put your plans on hold if you & your sister would be ok with it!

Cakes - I really find 1hour+ ok, going back is worse IMO with a baby/LO. Even though it's darker I just find it's harder for DD to adjust, therefore harder for me to adjust!

My friend who is getting married in June has asked me to read at her wedding! I am so thrilled! Always thought I'd be PG by then, will be an emotional day for me I think. One of the readings is the one we had at my dad's funeral...which was read then by her dad! Will try not to blub!

JustShaggingForNow · 28/03/2011 11:39

Ooooh bebe waiting until mothers day would certainly ad some impact to your chat. Such a shame that you and DH didn't get to talk things over at the weekend but I am keeping everything crossed for you adn hope that he will come round to your way of thinking.

I went over to see my neighbour's DD last week and she is soooo tiny. Absolutely gorgeous adn DH met her at the weekend and thought that she was really pretty and cute (as well as being slightly freakd out by how small she is!!)

How lovely to be reading at your friend's wedding. I did the same at my cousins and it was also emmotional as it was the same reading that we had chosen for our service.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 28/03/2011 12:43

Much as I don't want to blow my own trumpet (OK, that's a lie, I want to blow it really loud) I'm pretty darn good at cakes myself - if you look at my name you'll see I get a lot of practice ;-) I even made and decorated my own wedding cake. It made a good outlet for all the pre-wedding jitters :-)

JSFN - if you're close enough then maybe a talk with your Dsis would be best. Perhaps she really fancies a Spring wedding! My sis and I aren't that close really, the 5 year age gap is a bit alienating, but she's the only one I've told that we're going to be TTC soon. It's a funny old relationship, sisters.

Right. Lunch then back to work.
Hope you're all well and enjoying this sunshine still :-)
x

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 28/03/2011 20:24

Hey Ladies

Excitement on the bridesmaid front I see congrats :) Nowt wrong with a pregnant bridesmaid - I'll be between 8-12wks if I get upduffed this month my sis is ok with it too.

Bebe - shame you couldn't spk to DH.

My DD will be 6 on weds..... Wheredid the time go?! Pressie (ipodtouch) and cake sorted - someone else is making as i'm no good at all. She'll love it tho, no6 decorated with Tinks and friends.

Work is way to busy, so although I'm off work weds I know I'll still be working!

Been in our garden trying to finish it off this yr - if I ever meet the man who owned our house before us I'm going to Lamp him one, bloody pain in the arse almost like he dumped aload of rocks in the garden and covered it with soil :( all needs digging up as want our veggie patch to go there.

Rant over....must crack on with work

JustShaggingForNow · 29/03/2011 11:51

Very exciting indeed! I wouldn't worry if I was going to be 8-12 weeks but if they do opt for December and we are unusually luckt to catch fast theen I would be more like 34-38 weeks and probably not really bale to enjoy it :)

Sounds like you have a busy week preparing for your DDs birthday. I love planning parties etc! I am already getting ideas together for my DSis' hen weekend!!

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 29/03/2011 20:27

Hen weekend - thankfully its not my job to arrange it. However, we are off to brighton for the night dressed in burlesque get up.

38-40wks pg will not be comfortable - fingers crossed on spring wedding :)

Yeah its been a busy week, thankfully its all done and ready for tomorrow.

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 31/03/2011 16:27

Hey ladies

I know this is TMI but TTC actively started this morning Grin Blush

DD had a great 6th birthday yesterday very spoilt and very happy :)

AmandaCooper · 31/03/2011 17:12

Pah! Get of the thread this minute! Grin

No seriously, that's amazing news, it's always good when people graduate, it gives us old timers a much needed glimmer of hope! Good luck for this month!

JS wicked news for you - who'd have thought he'd come round, eh? Sods law says if she picks a spring wedding you'll end up being 8 months updiffed at it anyway! Better go for it now and see if you can fix your EDD so sis can plan around it!

Bebe good luck with your talk with DH, I know we've been here a million times but he's got to break in the end. Are things looking any better for him workwise? Just the lighter nights and warmer weather might make a difference to how he feels in general, you never know. Soften him up with some sci-fi themed confectionary!

OP posts:
DarciesmumandTTC2 · 31/03/2011 17:40

AC :( lol can't graduate yet! Hopefully one of them is swimming their heart out hehe

JustShaggingForNow · 31/03/2011 19:25

Hahaha!! Tempting but I won't be doing that for several reasons:-

  1. it's her day and I don't want to be controlling and make it all about me. She should be able to choose her date because it's when she wants to get married and not because she doesn't want a massive bridesmaid.

  2. we're off to india 3 weeks tomorrow and I don't want morning sickness to ruin a trip of a lifetime!!

  3. I ov'd yesterday and DH is in London until tomorrow night. So whatever they decide it'll still be next cycle when we TTC.

Good luck Bebe let us know how Sunday's chat goes. We'll all be thinking about you.

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 02/04/2011 16:40

Quiet over the weekends isn't it.

Went for a lovely mothers day meal today. Chill out for rest of day now x

jesieb · 02/04/2011 23:37

JSFN - I feel your BM pain. My sis is getting married 23 march. I'm chief bridesmaid. And I selfishly would rather be pg than her BM :(
She had her DS2 4 weeks before my wedding! So allows fine with dress etc bit how on.earth do you order a dress when you have no idea how fat you are going to be?
I can't start TTC until I start my new job. But that is all awaiting ofsted so could be another month yet. But it means I even have to get pg straight away next month, or if not wait until July to start again.
I was in hospital with pre eclamsia last time, so even though I would rather be pg. I still don't want to be I'm.hospital and miss the wedding!
It's so hard!

Whoo Whoo! Many congrats to Darcysmum! FX for you!

Bebe - good luck with your talk tomorrow.

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 03/04/2011 09:43

Thanks Jesie :) just the 2ww now, which is the worst

AmandaCooper · 04/04/2011 07:50

JS can't believe your trip of a lifetime has come round! I don't think DH and I will be going on ours... Maybe I need to dither a bit more!

OP posts:
Paintinmyhair · 04/04/2011 09:19

Darcie is giving me hope, la la la la la!!! And Jesie, don't worry about it too much, it will happen if/when it is meant to, and you'll be at the wedding no matter what.

Am so proud of you ladies, with all this TTC! (Goes and carries on googling cloth nappies in mad "I want them but can't get them yet" fashion)

JustShaggingForNow · 04/04/2011 09:57

Morning All!

DH is now firmly on board Grin
In fact last night he asked if we needed to wait until we were on holiday to start TTC (this is the man that has been delaying for a year and worries about EVERYTHING!!). I pointed out that we were a bit late this month and he looked a bit upset and a bit confused. The poor man has no idea how all this works and I think I'll try and keep it that way for now so he doesn't feel under pressure and like a stud horse!!

Big smiles all round on that front but he did tentatively suggest that we may need to move back to London for his work.... which was a bit of a shock. Hoping that I get updiffed asap so that we don't have to sell our lovely home in the SW (FX!!)

How was everyone's weekend?

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 04/04/2011 13:38

Weekend was incredibly stressful (DH's 30th celebrations and my mum's b-day followed by mother's day, so I've been baking for Britain and running up and down the country) bu hubby had a really lovely b-day and that's what I was aiming for :-)

I'm just waiting for period now and then we can get going with the TTC. Very excited, but also nervous :-) Friend of mine gave me all her little boy's clothes for 3-6 mnths the other day - 3 bin bags full!!! Do babies really need that much stuff? Seriously? Fucking hell!

x

JustShaggingForNow · 04/04/2011 13:54

Morning Cakes!! Sounds like a very busy weekend but great that DH had a lovely birthday. I'm sure he really appreciated all the hard work - well done you :)

Hurrah on the TTC front. Do you think we need a stats overview so we know where everybody is (I loose track so easily!!)

Mine is:
JustShaggingForNow (28) TTC#1, Cycle -1, UCL 29/30 AF due date 15th April

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 04/04/2011 15:15

JustShaggingForNow (28) TTC#1, Cycle -1, UCL 29/30 AF due date 15th April
MakesCakesWhenStressed (28) TTC#1, Cycle -1, UCL 30/31 AF due date unknown (due to having just come off the pill) but c. 7th April at a guess

It's like speaking code!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 04/04/2011 15:23

Wink

Why can't it be meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?!?!?

Cakes - not sure LOs need all that stuff...but you generally get tonnes of the small sizes as:
a. The clothes are too darn cute not to buy in dinky sizes!
b. You get given loads by people when they are born...including stuff from cousins-twice-removed-of-the-lady-who-lives-three-doors-down-from-your-Granny!

I didn't speak to DH...life & shit got in the way again! Angry :(

JS - can't believe this trip is nearly here, feels like you have been talking about it for ages!! :)

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 04/04/2011 15:52

Aww, bebe, I'm sorry - you can come hang out on the thread anyway. There's a rocking chair all ready, with a large glass of whatever you fancy close at hand! :-)

And yeah - hubby and I are (hopefully) sorting through all the the clothes tonight and ditching the ones we don't want. No newborn stuff in there, but I suspect that's what people buy for the LO when it's born anyway.

I'm setting myself a new challenge - going to see how cheaply I can do this baby thing. Scrounging, second hand, freecycle and strict economy... can you tell I'm half Yorkshire, half Jewish? ;-)
