A continuation of so many threads spent waiting to ttc that I've completely forgotten what number thread we're on.

If you're waiting to ttc, stop by and say hello! Smile

At what point do you think you can stamp your feet and say "right, this is a deal breaker. I am leaving?". Dp is now saying maybe never to children, whereas before it was 5 years. I really think if I don't have children in the next two I will turn into one of those crazy women that either lives in squalor with cats, or runs away with any old man in order to get upduffed. I know I am being selfish, I have one dc, but I have been wanting another for 7 years now, surely I have been patient enough??

bebejones · 18/03/2011 14:28

I don't know, but when you find the answer can you let me know? I've tried doing the 'I will leave' thing, but not sure I could go through with it! Blush Hmm I have been wanting another for nearly 2 years & that is bad enough, can't imagine how you must be feeling!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 19/03/2011 15:03

I spent yesterday trying to find something girlie, yet not pink, so my due-soon sister in law (if I say chav do I have to qualify any further?). Three years younger than me, unemployed, second child by second father and no savings and yet she just throws all other considerations to the wind and gets herself knocked up. Plus, she sells on all her baby stuff, so I know there's not a hope in hell of actually benefitting from our DCs' having cousins, because she won;t keep anything for us and will probably not even get us anything or give a shit, so why oh why was I knocking myself out to get something nice? Oh yes, that's right, it's not that poor brat's fault and I'm a nice person. Mostly. Except when jealous.

OK. Rant over. Hope you're all having a nice weekend and enjoying this sunshine

I'm here too! Dd is nearly 8 mo, and we're starting to wonder whether to start ttc dc2. I feel really disloyal even thinking about it though, as if I am brig disloyal to dd Sad which is tosh I know.

DizzyKipper · 20/03/2011 09:34

Hi all,

Sorry I've been gone a while, life has been quite horrible up my end recently. Have tried to catch up a bit but there are now twice as many pages as when I left so I'll catch up bit by bit.

Hello to the new faces that have joined us Smile.

My life has been in a bit of a scramble lately, anything could be possible right now (including ttc or even being pregnant right now - though it's highly unlikely, will see if and when the period shows up in a few weeks time).

OTheHugeManatee · 20/03/2011 10:54

News just in: DP and I decided that after we get married next year we're going to start ttc.

Does that mean I qualify to post in this thread MN yet? Or should I just keep lurking for a bit longer...?

AstroZola · 20/03/2011 18:52

Hey everyone,
I've got DP to agree to read the MN Guide to Pregnancy! I'm hoping it'll swing his mind to the right position. Smile x

jesieb · 20/03/2011 23:07

Hiya ladies. Sorry threads too long to read so hope you don't mind me just jumping on and starting here.

I'm Jesie, 27, married 4.9years. DS is 14 months

We started TTC in Aug/Sept last year. Then in Jan I lost my job so TTC stopped. I am now so desperate to start TTC again I am looking for any job to het some pennies in then i can worry about a job for my qualifications and experience later.

Also my sister just set her wedding date. March 2012. So I either get pg in may for a Feb baby.... or I need to hang on until july so there is no risk of a wedding baby!

However the longer it goes on the more upset I get as the age gap grows :( getting a job in April and pg in may would be perfect! Perfect but unrealistic :(

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 20/03/2011 23:58

OK. I am off the pill and waiting for my first natural period, then we're off. So apart from folic acid I am making some rather more fun preparations. Starting with waxing my legs, and maybe some fake tan. Poor old hubby deserves a wife who looks just a little bit glamorous before being asked to put out!

I might get a new bra too :-D

Anyone else glamming up or are you all the kind of woman I can only aspire to be who always have smooth legs and un-smudged mascara?

jesieb · 21/03/2011 08:30

Mascara? What's that??? LOL legs always used to be smooth etc but then DS came along and showers are quick and baths are nearly extinct LOL so its not like it used to be. I think with the summer coming its going to pick up a bit though, the winter is just comfy times isn't it.

But good on you for giving a DH a treat, you know that the regular sex will be enough for him though ;)

Good luck!

JustShaggingForNow · 21/03/2011 10:12

Morning all!!
Am back from the ski trip and back in the office. Feeling completely broken after 7 days of binge drinking, dancing on tables and throwing myself down mountains! Really do not want to be in the office this morning :(

AF arrived on hols so there was no luck with the drunken wedding accident (:( damn it!!). DH was very sweet and asked if I was upset about it though and at least it meant I didn;t have to suddenly start drinking non alcoholic drinks and be careful on the slopes. Think he has an inkling that I am hoping to try on hols (otherwise it's going to be ages before the timings tie in with out 2 days a week together!!!) but I've still not sat him down and told him!

Only 4.5 weeks to go until we go away and I can;t wait. The ski trip was lovely but there wasn;t really any couple time and so 17 days with just the 2 of us will be utter bliss!

Not had a chance to catch up but welcome to all the newbies and hope that all the old timers are ok.

xxx

JustShaggingForNow · 21/03/2011 10:17

Cakes - well done you on the waxing, new bra thing!! Mr Cakes won;t be able to resist ;)

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 22/03/2011 11:12

hee hee - well, I epilated. Ouch.

Birthday today, so I'm on a promise for tonight! :-D
Yay

Then smear test on Fri, then babymaking ;-)

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 22/03/2011 11:14

ps - how long to wait till smear results? Is it 6 weeks? Cos I just thought... we'd have to wait until those came through, wouldn't we?

Biccies · 22/03/2011 11:23

Hi everyone, I think I'm in the same situation as some of you ? going to start trying april/may. I came off the pill in January and it took AGES to get first natural period. Was really panicking that there was something wrong. Lucky it's all find now.
After that little hiccup I was getting all ready to get going, new pants and everything! And then DH said he didn't want a Christmas baby!! He says he's not just trying to put it off, and actually I can kind of see his point, but still a bit miffed... Had been counting down the days and just as I got to 1 I had to start from 30-something again!! Not the end of the world, I've already waited 2 years so what's another month or so, hey? Grrrrrr Wink

Biccies · 22/03/2011 11:26

Cakes, you had a smear? Where you due one anyway or do they recommend it before you start TTC? Has anyone else been to see GP? I was wondering whether it would be sensible to get a general healthcheck first, but figure they'd probably do loads of tests as soon as I got pregnant anyway....

JustShaggingForNow · 22/03/2011 12:26

Hi Cakes - Happy Birthday!!

My smear results only took a week to come back but I think it depends on which region you are in and how busy they are. Sorry I can;t be more helpful on that one.

I've now only got 1 AF before we TTC - YAY!!DH seems to be indicating that he knows we will be TTC on out holis so that's all good too :) It's 4 weeks and 2 days until we go away now and I can't wait!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 22/03/2011 12:40

I was due one in November so I asked for it to be brought forwards so I could be sure of an all-clear before we started TTC. I would have liked a STD check too, but they wouldn;t do it because I was married and apparently that means I don;t have a symptomless STD

I just hope everything is all OK :-)

And I have come off the pill now, so just waiting for natural period and smear results! Then we're good to go. And I was trying to avoid Xmas baby too, I think it makes sense if you have a choice :-)
How old are you Biccies? Mind me asking?

Sorelip · 22/03/2011 12:41

Hi everyone :)

Been TTC since Nov/Dec 2010, but am now waiting for my colposcopy results to come back before we 'properly' try. We're not using any protection now, but tbh I don't think anything will happen until I get my results, if only because either stress or something else has messed with my cycle (on day 68 and counting!).

Meanwhile I find myself online looking at baby clothes and wishing myself pregnant.

bebejones · 22/03/2011 12:54

Happy Birthday Cakes! :)
I think my smear results came back in a week but was told they could take longer. I know that isn't much help. But doubt you would have to wait 6 weeks. (Don't quote me)

Welcome newbies!

JS Envy Wink All very exciting that you are so close to TTC!

Been busy making cakes & taking DD to music group today. Trouble is AF is immenient so all I want is carbs/cake/chocolate and this just isn't helpful when I still want to lose 7lbs!

JustShaggingForNow · 22/03/2011 13:30

Yup - very exciting indeed but knowing my luck it'll take FOREVER to actually get upduffed so I'll be on here for a lot longer! :)

I was a bit naughty yesterday. Was online ordering a super cute cardi for the neighbours baby (born last week when we were on holiday) and I ended up adding a babygrow to the order...... sounds silly but DH always calls me Monkey and so this was asking to be bought.... Blush now I just have to figure out where on earth to hide is as DH will FLIP out

JustShaggingForNow · 22/03/2011 13:32

oh and Bebe - I am so with you on the AF carbs thing! I always get that feeling and salad just won't cut it!

Welcome Newbies - join the madness :) Sorelip is that because you ahve been TTC lots ;)!!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 22/03/2011 13:33

bebe - chewing gum and/or carrot sticks are the answer to cravings!

Sorelip - I assume you're not unknowingly pregant, hence the long 'cycle'?
